Hi Ladies!

Just like most of you, I am coming from the Summer Cycle Group. I'm assuming that once we get the ball rolling with our ED that I will be ready late September or early October....not sure. It's nice to see some familiar girls. Klinger...thanks for starting this thread! It's going to be a POSITIVE one!

Have a great weekend!

Hi Girls!

I hope to get to know you and good to see previous cycle buddies like Tammy!
I got my AF today and go for blood tests tomorrow, FSH, prolactin, TSH and some other stuff. On September 7th and 8th I have an HSG and a saline US. I guess the RE wants to make certain everything is ok. I have a son from IVF and then this May/June had an ectopic. Now we are trying again. I think our ER/ET will be at the start of Oct but I am not sure. I think I will be on micro dose Lupron but not sure. We switched REs and I really hope we get lucky!

Lauren1171 - I'm glad you had a good time on your cruise and you're refreshed and ready for your FET! Everything crossed that this will be the one.

Karin - I'm so glad you're joining us! Hope you get your ED squared away soon so you can get your cycle underway. And you're right - this thread is going to be a POSITIVE one!

riogirl71- I'm sorry about your e/p but I'm glad you joined the group. Did you do the micro dose lupron cycle last time too or will this be a change in protocol?

lou - I'm feeling a lot better, thanks! My lower belly still gets a little swollen and sore towards the end of the day but feels so much better than last week. And emotionally I feel better too - having the IVF in sight now has given us something to look forward to instead of dwelling on what recently happened. If we hadn't saved up all these months for IVF "just in case" (we're self-pay) I don't think I'd be in the same place emotionally.

nancy - Our clinic does an IVF group session that we'll need to attend (not sure how long it lasts) so it sounds like it's similar to the class you have to go through.

I'll post the updated list again tomorrow in case we get any more additions to it today (we've had a lot of ladies join the thread today YAY!) We're getting a nice big group going and I'm looking forward to a nice big group of BFPs!! :D

Hello, all!

I hope you don't mind one more joining you all. I have been stalking the website for months as I went through back to back IVF and FET cycles both with negative results, but this is the first time that I have had the nerve to jump in. My DH thinks that I obsess too much over every single Dr. visit, every result and NP phone call, and that I POAS way too much during the 2ww. However much he tries to help - and he does!! - I just don't think he can possible understand what its like to want something so badly and to be willing to do whatever is necessary to get it without the result that you want! That's why I decided to start joining in. Who better to understand the emotions then the strong women on this site?!

So, I still have some insurance (quickly running out) and plenty of hope that there is a miracle baby right around the corner so I want to try again soon. I'm thinking that my RE is going to want me to wait a cycle or two out since I have been doing some kind of IVF treatment since April, but I'm going to try and fight it as much as I can and get it in. At least before the end of the year and I have to start paying all of my deductibles again. Plus, if I have already gained 1000 lbs since I started, I may as well truck on, right?!? So a FALL fresh cycle it will be!!

Has anyone had experience with stage 4 endometriosis? I started IVF thinking that it would be easy since my only issue was wonky tubes after 5 ectopic pregnancies. I figured the hard part was getting the embryo in the right place, not fertilization and that once the tubes were gone, I would have an easier time of it with IVF. However, after having 5 months worth of attention on my ovaries, apparently mother nature thinks a severe case of endometriosis would be fun too. While they haven't "officially' diagnosed it, it has been brought up many times when they determined that there was an endometria on my left ovary which is only caused by endo. Does anyone have knowledge about this and/or suggestions on what to do to increase my chances for implantation?

Anyway, I hope that you all have the success that you so richly deserve and thanks for letting me join you on your journey!! I'm thinking that the Fall 2010 board is going to be pretty amazing!!!

Hello everyone
I am new at this forum thing but thought I'd give it a try.... My name is Carrie and my partner and I (Susan) have done 6 IUI with donor sperm with no positives. We are moving on to IVF. We haven't done anything yet but talk to doc about this process. I will contact doc when period starts for this cycle... We are really hopeful that IVF will work for us!

Cheri76 - Welcome to the thread! I'll be sure to add you to tomorrow's list when I post it. And 5 e/ps???? OMG, 2 was way more than enough for me!! And I've found the ladies on this site soooo helpful, so I'm glad you decided to join! Hopefully someone will chime in on your endo question, sorry that I can't be of help on that one.

Carrie (carebear77) - Welcome to the Fall group! I'm sorry you & Susan have had to go through so many unsuccessful IUI's but hopefully IVF will do the trick! I'll put you in the waiting for IVF section for now on tomorrow's list, but let me know when you start BCP's, Lupron, or stims and I'll move you on down the list to whatever section is applicable.

riogirl - thank you! And yes we do have a post-e/p heavy thread so I vote for no chemicals, no e/ps, no BFNs on this thread - just straight up BFPs (implanted in the right place) for everybody! We've got a lot of PMA on this thread and we're going to keep it going! :D

lou71 wrote:Tammy -- Hi!!!! Great to see you back here. You were missed. It's the Lupron I'm worried about. i stop BCP's on the 9th and am only on Lupron until I see RE on the 17th. I have developed a cyst and ovulated right through Lupron TWICE before. This time they're putting me on 20 units! That is up from 5 units my first try then 10 on my second. I sure hope 20 units does the trick! Wow!... No BCP's. You really get to jump right back in. I've heard that it's possible the BCP's can cause a bit of oversuppression in us older gals so you might get more eggs this time! I asked RE about it and he said that's true but that taking the BCP's can also help the follies be in the same size range. Last cycle he gave me a choice. If this works well for you, I may try it without BCP's if I need another fresh cycle. I'm really excited for you!

Tiger -- I'm thinking of you! I hope you've got some GREAT follies growing in there. It's almost time and you'll be PUPO very soon!

Amanda1979 -- Welcome back! Why does your RE owe you $5,000? They better get that back to you! It's a lot of $.

Nancy -- 5 vials sounds like a lot! Congrats! I think I would thaw one ahead of tme to see if it would be usable. I wouldn't want to find that out after ER. Good luck!

Lauren319 -- That's great that you lived in Manhattan for 10 years! I would love some suggestions from you. Can you give me some restaurant recommendations? Maybe one nicer place and some others that have great food and good prices. We aren't planning to be fancy. Any trendy nightclubs? Favorite shopping locales? Art museums (I've been to the Met and Guggenheim of course)? Any other "must sees" you would recommend. I'll be spending a lot of time at Flushing Meadows since we've got tickets for 3 sessions, but will definitely have time to fit some other things in as well. We like to do pretty much everything!

Wondercat -- I'm with ya... really trying to muster up some PMA. I've done 3 fresh cycles (2 3dt and 1 5dt) and 1 FET of only one so-so blast and had one BFP that ended in m/c at 12 weeks. I am getting pretty desperate for some good news.

klinger -- Great job with the list! How are you feeling since the surgery?

Lou- We did a shared-risk program with the old RE. We paid 12,000 for 2 cycles and if worked they keep all the money if not they give us 5000 back.

Hi everyone ... I too am from the summer cycle group. My first IVF with 2 high quality embryos ended in a chemical pregnancy that took a while to accept. I am hoping to start a FET in late September early October but it sounds like my clinic might not start until October due to the OHSS from July. I have started acupuncture and hoping that it can regulate my cycle so I can possible start in mid September & prepare my uterus to keep them in there this time. :S Now we have 3 frozen embryos and we are questioning putting all 3 in ... but we are not sure what is best to do. I read that the more you put in the better the chance of atleast 1 staying. Does anyone know anything about this ?
I am happy to be back and sorry for leaving. Glad to see everyone doing well and so positive. :D

Rio...Yayyy...so glad that you joined us! I guess my begging worked. lol  I'm sooo excited that things are finally moving forward for you...it seemed like it took forever. This will work for us both again...and we will have kids close in age again.

Sher...Hi! So happy that you are back with us again...wish it werent under these circumstances...but you know what I mean. How old are you, reason for IF, and how many cycles have you done...would determine how many I would put back. Are your frozen ones 5 day blasts?

Amanda...I think it is awesome that you get $5000 back if it doesnt work (though I wish it had)...because it is proof that the doctor did do his best...even if he couldnt make it happen. Sometimes a new doctor and a fresh approach or protocol is exactly what you need.

Cheri...Hi and Welcome! Wow! You have really been through alot. This board feels really lucky for all of us...and I see good things to come for you!

Carebear...Hi and Welcome to you and Susan. The process to get started can sometimes seem like forever...however since you have already done IUI's ...it shouldnt be too long. I hope it is exactly what you need to start your family.

Karin...I love seeing your positive smiling face over here!

Wondercat...Our class consisted of explaining how IVF works and how to do the meds. It was so informative that we went before 3 rounds of IUI and again right before IVF (just cause we wanted to)...for a refresher. lol No worries though...if your clinic dont offer it ...it is just because they would rather explain everything one on one instead.

Nancy...I would also thaw one ahead of time...since you have so many.

Babyluv...Thanks for stopping in to wish us luck! How are you doing? What is new?

Lauren1171...So glad you joined us...I was beginning to really miss you while you were cruising. lol

Teresa...Yes, we will be very close in our cycles. Yayy!

Lou...Good to know about the bcp's ...I didnt know that. I am on 20 units of microdose lupron (watered down)...so 20 of regular lupron should definitely do the trick for you.

Tiger...How is everything going? Are you doing IUI this weekend? If so...GOOD LUCK!!!

AFM...I'm starting 225 of follistim and 20 of microdose lupron this morning...and then 3 vials of menopur to 1 water (225 units) and 20 lupron again at night. I've never done the menopur before and am kinda nervous about it. Apparantly I have to withdraw the water with the big needle and put it into one bottle of powder, mix it, withdraw all of that and put it into the second bottle, and so on. What a pain in the butt, and then switch the needle to the little one to administer. Ugh.

I am taking all of my meds on ice on vacation this morning...and will keep them with me at the museum today...but am then going to ask the hotel tomorrow morning to leave them in a fridge there...while we are at the zoo all day (after check out)...cause it is suppose to be very hot outside and we will be there all day long...and then pick them up again, before heading home. I hope they dont mind.

Have a great weekend!!!

Sher - Welcome to the fall group! I'm really sorry you had to go through a chemical last time. It's so hard to have that excitement of a BFP just to have the walls come crumbling down shortly after. I hope this FET is a success! Tammy asked some good questions in her post - i.e. since I'm 38 my doc would do all 3. And it's possible that all 3 might not survive the thaw, so I'd probably go for it. (But hey, I'm a newbie at all of this so take my post with a grain of salt LOL) :D

Tammy - YAY for starting your follistim/menopur today!! I moved you on down to the grow follies grow section of the list. And I'll have to do that type of mixing with my Bravelle - I'll probably have to watch the videos a dozen more times before I start. :D

AFM - Nothing new to report here. Today I'm dropping my pup off to his favorite place, Camp Bow Wow, for a day of playing with his doggy friends and I'll tackle cleaning this apartment (which I've completely neglected the last couple weeks.) Fun, fun!

Here's the updated list and just let me know as you start different parts of your cycle so I can update where you are on the list.

Sher and Karin- Great to see you! This is going to be the BFP board!

Riogirl- Welcome. Great to have you with us.

Carebear- welcome. I hope IVF does bring you success.

Klinger- I hear you about being self pay. I think that's why I'm having such a hard time. Because financially we planned on 3 fresh cycles. My last cycle was my best yet so it's hard to walk away empty handed. I've got so much riding on this FET because we know we could only maybe afford one more after this. Makes me real sad. Please God, let this FET work.

AFM- I'm writing from my phone as I'm waiting for acupuncture so I can't remember all I just read. I'm really going to try to have a good weekend despite how bummed I've been from my last BFN. I'm taking my 85 year old grandmother to lunch and shopping today. She's a handful but loves getting out and I love spending time with her. I'm working an extra shift tomorrow... Hope it's not too bad. It will be a short week since we're leaving on Thursday for the long weekend.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

lou - I know, I feel like there's so much pressure for it to work because we're self-pay. At this point, we've probably got enough saved up for 1 fresh and 1 frozen, but with only one ovary who knows if we'll even get "extras" to freeze. I guess we'll just have to keep on saving in case we have to go through more than one fresh. I really hope your FET works so you don't have to worry about anymore cycles! And have fun today with your grandmother!

Tammy! So great you have a fun day planned! Be advised that the dumb menopur stings quite a bit. Icing it helps the sting. Good luck! Grow follies!

klinger/lou - I agree that I feel extra pressure because our insurance covers nothing. With this 3rd cycle it will put us at over $30,000 ouch! We never had enought to freeze so 3 fresh cycles. I am hoping this is a lucky one!

klinger - how old is your pup? We just got a 4 mo old pup! Yeah like we don't have enough going on! ;) thanks for keeping the list - i know how much work that is!

Sher - are you comfortable with maybe having twins? That is such a hard question to answerI know women that put in 6 and had one, put in one and had one, so who knows really? I think we will be agressive since we can't really afford another fresh cycle.

I am so right there w/ y'all on this. It is so very costly. When we were at the clinic on Friday for dh's aspiration one of our nurses had done IVF there at that clinic. She got one baby (girl) from each cycle. That was encouraging to hear. She just started working at the clinic in June. She's been a stay-at-home mom up until June.

It's so scary to think about all the $$ going out when there is no guarantee.
