Mora- I'm sure it's TOTALLY fine, but I would be nervous too. But as you well know, spotting is incredibly common in totally healthy pregnancies.

AFM- had another perfect ultrasound today. It is amazing how much of a difference a week makes. The baby seems so much bigger. I could very clearly see the brain, limb buds, and beating heart. The coolest part was seeing the baby move! It's so early in brain development that the movement is involuntary and is just muscular twitching, but still...it was amazing.

I had a really rough weekend. I was so tired and sick that I spent most of DH's first Fathers Day in bed. Hope it's better for the Tiger's game this weekend.

How is everyone? There are a few folks that have been pretty quiet...hope all is well.

ALissa: Yay for your happy, healthy little guy =)

AFM: had an u/s this morning . . . h/b was 162 and he measured just fine. RE thinks all the bleeding is from a polyp on my cervix. Have to go see the Gyno on Monday..never had an abnormal pap, so I'm not too worried....just relieved that I finally found the reason behind all the bleeding... I thought all the drama would be in getting pregnant, not sustaining the pregnancy! :)

Mora- thanks and sounds like things are going great for you too!

AFM- I am dragging and so sick! Ugh. Headed to Detroit tomorrow with DH, my sisters, and their two daughters to go to the Tigers game on Sunday. The four hour car ride ought to be interesting with a toddler and a car sick pregnant lady. Still so excited to go.

We had our first "our lives are different now" moment. U2 is my favorite band, hands down. We found out we could get tickets to see them Sunday night after the game and they have been on our "bucket" list since we started making one. We were even considering going overseas at one point to see them. Now they are here unexpectedly right in our backyard (it's a make up date from a show that was cancelled a long time ago and not a publicized tour). I STILL CAN'T BELIEVE WE SAID NO. DH and had a good laugh about it. We both went through the same range of emotions, from...heck yeah, we are soooooo there...to hmmm, maybe we shouldn't....to nope, there is no way I can handle a baseball game and a rock concert and survive.

Guess we will just have to go see them in Italy or Spain sometime after the baby is born when we need a little time away. ;)

deftonesmo - So glad your u/s showed that nothing was wrong with your little one! I had brown spotting 4 days after my first OB visit and they had me come in right away. I thought brown spotting wasn't bad, well better than bright red. When I explained what I had been experiencing to the nurse she gave me this look like "oh honey, that's really bad". So I started to freak out and I asked her if that was bad, and her whole body language changed and was like "no, brown is really good!" I think she was trying to give me a heart attack lol. Then my OB came in and totally calmed my nerves. I absolutely love my OB.

Bliss - I'm sorry that you are still feeling sick, hopefully it will start to ease up soon! I think a baseball game and a concert may have been a bit much for you. But I think going overseas to see them is an absolutely amazing idea! Hope the 4 hour drive goes by quickly!!

AFM- I told my doctor I couldn't wait a whole month without another visit and she said I could come in any time. So I'm scheduled to come in next Friday. I was a few days behind on my last u/s, so hopefully my little one had a huge growth spurt and he/she will be on target. We are going to start sharing the news with our families soon. We are telling my parents on Monday and one side of DH's next Sunday. I'm glad I'll have an u/s before we share the news with his side, just so that I know I have made it into the second trimester. I'm still so nervous that something went wrong and I would hate to tell everyone, then tell them a week later that things didn't work out. DH tells me to stop worrying, but I can't help it. I think until I feel he/she moving around, I will panic at every cramp or twinge I feel. Although, I know the worrying will never stop :)

well ladies, its been a while since i have posted. I just cant find the energy most days to open my lap top. Im either so fatigued i cant move, or Im hurling in the bathroom. I am sick pretty much all day, everyday! Zofran helps, but doesnt take it away. The only places I go are to work and the doctor. On a good note though.. I had my visit this wk at 10 wks and the babies looked great!!!! They told me that I will get an u/s with each visit!! They actually look like full size babies now! One was upside down sleeping and the other looked to be dancing! It was awesome. I also found out that I have pregnancy induced hyperthyroidism, so I have to start being followed by an endocrinologist. Seems to be something all the time. I am 10w5d, counting down to end this first trimester. Keep up the good work ladies!

Hey Addy- I am so happy that you were able to schedule an ultrasound to see your little one. I am sure everything is fine, but I don't blame you at all. I think we all started worrying since 5 minutes after we had that positive beta! I am sure you will feel much better when you see that beautiful baby and know that you have made it through the first trimester. Can't wait to hear how it goes.

Dallas-that sounds wonderful! We are only a week and a couple days apart to I feel like you are giving me a sneak peek into the next visit. Sorry about the hyperthyroidism, but its great they identified it and can address it so soon. Sounds like your babies are doing beautifully. What a cool experience to see the two hanging out and one even "dancing".

Mora- My last message was a little short because I was on my iPad and it is a pain. Wanted to let you know that I am really glad that it appears to be something relatively simple and explained. Glad everything seems to be working out well.

AFM- I feel great today. Only a tiny little bit nauseas and tired. Its the best I have felt in two weeks and of course it has me just a little worried, but I am sure everything is fine. I am just going to enjoy for now. I am really glad because I am watching my niece again this morning while I wait for her mom and DH to get off work so we can go to Detroit. Excited for my first full OB appointment on Tuesday. Hope the time flies by!

Have a Wonderful Weekend!

AFM- Had my first OB appointment today (the long one!). It was my first belly ultrasound and I loved it. So much easier than the vaginal ultrasound. The baby was just wiggling away and is now measuring a day ahead. We are just 9 1/2 weeks but we went public today anyway. I feel a little strange about sharing the news so early, but we had a couple of trusted friends who turned out to be a little less trustworthy than we thought so we needed to spill the beans about our bean to those people in our lives that are important to us before someone else did. I have a very good feeling about it though. And what fun to share!

Doctor said that since I have been feeling better since Friday, the morning sickness might be behind me. I am hoping that is the case!

Alisa: Glad to hear that you are feeling better!

Dallas: Ditto! :)

AFM: My OB doesn't think I have a polyp after all . . . just an irratated cervix . . . so no exercise, long walks, lifting, etc. for me . . . not bed rest, but I just have to take it easy . . . fortunately, no spotting since last week and my m/s is still strong as ever . . . last RE appt is on Friday and then I get discharge to the OB for good . . . YAY! :D

Nancy - Congrats!!

Bliss - this is how we are sharing the news with our parents. We had M&Ms made that say #1 grandma/grandpa, boy or girl? and a pic of a pacifier. Since we are telling them over the 4th of July weekend, we went with a red, white, and blue theme. We are going to tell each set of DHs parents on Sunday and then on Tuesday. Can't wait!
Image

We are having a bbq at our place on Sunday, and this is how we are going to tell my uncle (I have a small family). DH will be wearing the shirt and we are going to see how long it takes him to notice it. We are going to add a "-12" to the shirt, so it will say 2011-12 since we could go with either year. Don't mind my dog, she saw the camera and jumped in the shot. She just assumed I wanted a picture of her :)
Image

I haven't decided how I am going to tell my friends, but I think we are going to wait another few weeks before we share it with others outside our family.

Awe- Addy that is adorable! I love the t-shirt and the candies, so creative. I actually read about your M&Ms on the other thread you started about how to tell people and I thought the idea was terrific. Nice to see it come to fruition. I am impressed with you being able to wait to do it. I just had to share the news. In part because the secret was sneaking out anyway, but also because I have already grown out of my suits at work and it is becoming obvious with the weight gain. I have been so self conscious. I don't know how you feel or look, but I just look like I am getting heavy right now, and I would rather people know I'm pregnant than think I am all of a sudden letting myself go. I am a little worried about how it will feel if something goes wrong, but at this point the miscarriage rate is only 2% higher than it is after the first trimester anyway so its really not much of a difference in terms of the risk.

Have fun sharing the news this weekend. It is a sheer joy! Although I do sort of miss my little secret a bit.

BTW- your puppy is adorable and a ham! I bet she might be a little jealous... :-)
