LYD....speaking from a just a technical standpoint....food born bacteria "live bacteria" which is what causes food poisoning takes 12 to 72 hours to show up and when it does it is fast & furious. If symptoms occur within 1–6 hours after eating the food, it suggests that it is caused by a bacterial toxin or a chemical rather than live bacteria. And as Alisa mentioned you would know if you had it....your body has a hard time figuring out which end to expel from. So my thoughts would be that it is the pregnancy hormones that you were mistakenly thinking were cramps were actually the beginning of MS and now that you have a stomachache it makes sense. Hope that helps note I am not a medical professional but have had some experience with this area through my job.

Are you creating a birth plan? Why or why not? What elements of your birth do you feel most passionate about? (ie..no drugs...or MUST have drugs...episiotomy...fetal monitoring...family in the room besides DH...etc)

Addy- CONGRATS ON TEAM BLUE!!! How exciting. Glad to see the gender predictor is wrong since we too are hoping to join team Blue. How do you feel? How about DH? Do tell!

Mora- are you out there and okay my friend? It has been awhile and you are usually super responsive. Hope all is well!

There are a few ladies we haven't heard from for awhile, many of whom should be close to learning the gender if you are finding out. Please send us an update when you can and let us know how things are going.

AOTW- I wrote my birth plan at about 8 weeks! I don't like my doctors and they are the only game in town so I want to make sure I keep them in line. I am going to try for a natural birth but won't be devastated if it doesn't happen. I have a lot of "granola" type of things built into the plan, trying to be as natural as possible. But really the only thing I really feel passionate about is that I want to be able to move around. Lying flat on your back for delivery just seems unnatural and uncomfortable to me. One interesting birth plan fact? DH has ZERO desire to cut the cord. My Mom is going to do that.

Speaking of my Docs...I am off to my regular OB appointment right now. no ultrasound though. I have to wait until next time to find out which team we are on!

Congrats Addy for Team BLUE!!! How exciting! Names will just come to you that is what we have found they just sort of made sense and were the right name so don't stress just pick a few favorites & let them float around your life and see which ones fit & make you smile when you say them......

AFM - My birth plan will be same as last time.....I will be in the room being SS coach so to speak.....at this point she really only gives one good push & here comes baby....she prefers drugs and always gets induced which is because of her bodies inability to go into labor on its own. Once baby is born I cut the cord SS gets covered up and DH comes in to see baby last time it took place in all of about 5 minutes so super fast and un-believeablely overwhelming 2nd time I am sure will be easier since we won't be so freaked out! We get our own room and spend time in nursery with baby & our room mainly BF it is important to get the baby BF'ing as soon as possible for me & baby so that my milk comes in (I will be pumping for a few weeks or maybe months before hand just to get ready) then we give SS a day with baby (we usually come in morning & night to feed but other than that we let her have a day) then we bring baby home the next day with temporary physical custody, she will relinquish her rights a few days later and then we do final adoption about 6 months from that. Phew it all seems so EASY.....HAH! I never really wish for the snow once it is here I am OK and ready to enjoy but now I want it to snow since that will signify closer to bringing home baby!! Thanks for the special question Alisa.....you are so sweet to include me! It does make me sad that this might be our last child and that I might never experience any of this first hand but my goal was to be a Mummy and that is what I am achieving no matter how it comes to me I am a Mum.

Yes, I am going to create a birth plan.

most passionate? hmmmm not sure yet. My goal is no drugs. We'll see what happens when the "rubber meets the road"

I really only want dh in the room -- at least that's my thinking for now.

Katie- that is so cool that you get to cut the cord and be there. Wonderful! You know...I think you may have the experience of being pregnant after its all said and done. At least I am very hopeful for you if that is what you decide to do. But you are also experiencing something special and very unique that I think is just as beautiful, Mom.

Nancy- I thought you might be going sans drugs since you mentioned the midwife earlier. We''ll have to give each other moral support.

AFM- pretty boring OB appointment today. Everything looks good. No ultrasound. However I did schedule the anatomy scan for Sept 12. The challenge is I will have to wait until Saturday for the party to know the results. Wow! We will have made it that far, so I am sure we can make it 6 more days. Or at least I hope.

Bliss - I really thought we were having a girl, until today when we were driving to our appointment. On the way there, I just knew it was a boy. This little guy is just like his mom, very stubborn. The u/s tech had the hardest time getting some of the pics she needed and he just would not move. She had to go at several angles and try for awhile to get him to move so she could see the gender. She kept saying "you are just a little stinker". It was really funny! DH didn't say much when I asked him what he thought about having a boy. He just said as long as it was healthy, he didn't care either way. I know all of our family members wanted us to have a girl (DH's side especially since he has two brothers). But everyone is super excited.

Katie - Sounds like you have a really solid plan! And you know what to expect this time around.

Wishing - I think it is safe to take some form of fiber or fiber pills....I don't think it is safe to take stimulant laxatives however. So you could take metamucil for instance which comes in powder & pill form....during one of my pregnancy's my RE said this. Hope this helps also I might suggest drinking a lot of water & packing your diet with leafy green veggies (spinach, broccoli, kale etc....) and also fresh fruits.....hope you start feeling better soon...
