Hi Girls

How's everyone doing?
I had a really crap visit to the clinic this morning and spent the rest ofthe morning in tears but am feeling a bit better now. The lovely nurse (I'm being sarcastic now)! shoved a form under our noses today for HIV and Hep B & C tests which should have been done before we started tmt. I was really shocked as these tests have never been mentioned before. Is this normal procedure?
EC has also been put back until next Weds or poss Fri as the little buggers are taking their time in growing. i think I had 15 follis today and I now look about 4mths pregnant!

Helen
Have you managed to restore your little darling back to her original colour?! Bless her heart she was just trying to be helpful!!
How are your jabs going? i was mixing 3 x 75iu but the nurse gave me some 150iu bottles to mix with the 75 ones and they really seem to sting - is that me just imagining it?!
Have you still got the snow? We only ever get a sprinkling of it and it soon turns to slush!

Jackie
Hope you had a nice chilled out evening and pampered yourself?

Jenf

How did your scan go today? Do you know what day your going for ec yet? What clinic are you at?
I'm also having sedation I just hope I don't feel anything cos I'm such a wimp. (I thought the Hycosy test was painful)!

Gem have posted you a separate thread.

Kat, you tell it like it is girl!!! I always want to say things like that but am worried I'll get into trouble! My stomach is so fat and boobs hurt so much that if dh came anywhere near me at the moment I'd scream! Bless his heart he'll be carrying his bits round in a wheelbarrow soon!

Traci, Sue and Loopy hope your all ok?
Have a great weekend everyone
love to you all

Hi all
if you'd have told me before I found this site that I would be writing messages to people I have never met about sex & w@nking & stuff I would never have believed it!! I was brought up not to talk about things like that!!
Dawn don't worry about the HIV & hepatitis - it was a new regulation brought in last year that all ivf couples have to have them before tmt. I think if you get pg naturally you now have to have them too, I was told it is so they know if they have to handle you differently rather than them saying you can't have tmt. We had ours last year and had to redo them this Dec before this cycle as you have to have them every year. They're just normal blood tests but it did go through our minds when we had the first ones that you never know we could have been carrying something all along and not know it. We were both fine and I think really the chances of finding out you have something nasty are very very VERY slim.
Also don't worry about ec being put back, this always happens to me, everyone is different and takes a different length of time to be ready just as everyone has different length monthly cycles.
I sound like I've been there done that on everything don't I?! Don't mean to sound like a know-it-all
Anyway went to travel agents this morning and booked a week in St Lucia flying out next Friday so although this week started off badly it has ended up nice. Got to go & dig out summer stuff now ready to hit the beach....
Lots of love and big fat positive vibes to all of you

Hi Everyone

Wow we are all getting closer now!!

Dawn V- think next time I am home to see my Mum I am gonna pop into Norwich and sort that nurse out for you :x !
Kat- you lucky bugger! Have a fantastic time, you deserve it, but will miss you as a cycle buddy this time and can we wait til your tan has gone before we meet for coffee!!?
Gem- read on the other post your Ec went ok today, hope you get brill embies tomorrow.
Hows everyone else??
I went for another scan yesterday and I have a 16mm follicle ripening on my right ovary, so that means i am on the pee stick ovulation sticks now! looks like Et will be latter part of next week, I didnt think that I would ovulate until Thurs/Fri but aparently 16mm suggests otherwise?!
I have 3 lots of 3 embies in straws, so will have 3 defrosted and if I need to have more they will call me before doing it.
They suggested they could give me the profasi 'trigger' injection to make me ovulate but I said no as I really want to do this drug free if I can. Think I am the only one having FET this time round, has anyone else had it before? Gem did you last time? If so how long after you ov did they do the transfer? And has anyone done a totally natural cycle? How many embies survived etc etc...... see that 'calm' thing didnt last long!!

Gem that's excellent news, I'm sure that nice fresh sperm will have helped them fertilise!!
Sue - don't think I'll get that brown in a week but you never know, can't wait just to chill out in the sunshine, currently having af pains and bleeding slightly the last two times I went for a wee - I think stopping the injections must have done something to my insides and they think it is AF time. Might post another thread to see if anyone else has had this..
Lots of love

HI Guys

Hows it going!!??

Gem - Hope all went well on Saturday.

Dawn- I know you have EC this week.........what day?

Is anyone else this week?

I have another scan tomorrow and EC on Thursday. DH biopsy is Wed so that they have 24 hours to look for sperm and ensure it survives.

I'm getting a bit fed up at the moment so I am just looking forward to finding out where we stand re husband or donor.

Sorry about being depressing!

Love to all

Hi ya

Kat, you don't sound like aa know it all at all, it's nice to hear of other experiences as I haven't done all this before.
How lucky are you jetting off for a week in the sun, I know you'd rather be doing your cycle but hopefully after a week chilling out you'll be ready to go again and will get a big fat positive.
I was telling my dh about your w*****g post and he loved it!! But is now constantly hassling me to make sure his swimmers are in tip top condition!!

Sue

I do hope the nurses don't log on to this site or I'll be in all sorts of trouble! Thank you for your offer - there's a bit of a q cos the girls at work have also said they'd like to slap her!! i think she needs a good s**g (sorry Marcus for lowering the tone ofthe site)!
Sorry I can't help with any of the fet stuff as haven't done it before.
I've had a bit of a nightmare today, realised I didn't have any needles left for jab tonight so went to work but they were all to big so rang the local hospital and they siad I could pick one up so drove to the new hospital which is the other side of the city to me, picked up the needles got home and realised they are one and a half inches long!!! So have now got to reuse last nights needle! Just hope it's not too blunt! Ouch!
Anyway hope you've all had a good weekend

ME

Well just had the last of the tests this morning , now I just have to have FSH done again Jan and Feb our next consultation is 26th Feb and the decision will be made reguarding using my own eggs (H :D pe so) if so we will start asap , if not here we come Mexico in Sept and we will have a long hard think about Donor Embi! May as well have it all donor then there is no waiting for anyone to produce or waiting for phonecalls reguarding fertilisation , there is no waiting list and they just defrost and bung em in! we need councilling for this . But as this clinic hasnt done a cycle with my eggs they would like to give me a go , they dont downregg for too long . I am so glad I changed clinics. so I just need an FSH below 10 so if I light my lucky candel it may work !

Take care everyone

Hi everybody

Well, I just started my 6th bottle of buserelin injections. I have my day 8 scan tomorrow (thank god!!!). I am currently injecting at 9am, 6pm & 9pm. Getting a bit fed up, my legs are getting sore and I took a big chunk out of my finger the other night opening a bottle. My finger has a big slice about 1.5mm deep by about 2cm long missing, John said it will leave a scar. Oh well at least I have something to show for all this pain.

Hope everyone is on schedule and not too nervous about egg collection etc

Good luck everybody

Hi Tracey

I am injecting 3 times a day because last time I started sniffing, by the time I had the baseline scan at 2 weeks, I was being very sick and had had a migrane for two weeks so bad that the last 3 days I didn't even get out of bed because the light hurt that much. I also had a period (day 2 protocol so shouldn't have happened) so they changed it to the injections twice a day, and puregon once a day.

This time I have been injecting Buserelin since December 22nd and menopur since 13th January. My husband is petrified of needles, he flees whenever they are due -wimp!!!!

I have a question -last time they abandoned the cycle due to no response, how long will they let things grow before egg collection? John is starting a new job at the university of Birmingham in two weeks and I'm a bit concerned it might overlap with his first day, or could they work around that, if things don't grow very quick?

Thanks

Jackie

How's everyone doing?

Had another scan today and have got 1 follie at 20mm, 1 at 19mm and about 7 at 16mm then some smaller ones so they gave me my notes and pregnyl jab for tonight and said I'd be going for ec on wednesday but rang me this afternoon to say it will be friday now as I'm not quite ready. So 2 more days of jabs and a scan on weds then hopefully I'll ne ready to go. Am getting a bit bored now!!
We had our hiv tests today and poor dh's arm is black and blue and really swollen so he's sulking cos mine is fine!
Jen are you still on for ec on thursday? Please don't tell me if it hurts til after i've been!
Am off to do my jab before I fall asleep

P.S Was also given the pessaries today and need to ask a embarrasing question! The nurse said it was best to do them rectally but I'm a regular kind of girl (if you get my drift)! so how soon after you stick them up do they take to disolve??!!!! :)

Hi Dawn/ Everyone

Dawn - such a bummer about the EC being put off to Friday, I know how you feel I am getting really impatient myself now. I am still on for Thursday - thank god, scan went fine today and so far everything is going according to plan!!

That was a good question you asked about the pessaries.......I am curious of the answer to that one myself!!

Hope all goes well for Friday and I won't say anything til after that.........I am a wimp anyway!!

Speak soon

Hello girls

In answer to pessary question - I was told about 20 mins for them to dissolve. It is better to put them in the front as well and use a pad for any leakage.

Good luck to everyone having EC and ET and starting treatment. Be positive and take it easy.

Hi all
Hope you doing OK had a good holiday although there was too much snow :( anyway going to see the Doc on Friday, AF is being a bit sluggish this month so will have to wait and see if I can start on Friday. Doing another IUI we thought we'd give it another go before the donor eggs. Have loads of questions to ask him this time so feel a bit nervous. If you buy the drugs from some where else do you need to get a precscription of the Doc? I also want to know if I need any more tests before the donor which is a bit scarry. Anyway sorry to ramble feeling a little low I have two friends due this week and next week and i'm having a bit of a 'why not me' day. Good luck to all who are E/C and fingers crossed for some positives! Traci good luck with the tests hope everything goes well.
lots of hugs
