Maryjane - Well done on getting to ET, now the dreaded 2ww, i cant believe how long it actually felt and i only stayed off work for 3 days, the rest i was occuppied. Did you have a nice birthday, was that why you went out for your meal? Dont worry about not resting all day as long as you take things easy and dont get too stressed. 12 frosties that is fab, you must be pleased. I have only got 3 frosties, but im believing that there good ones. (AF is your period). With all the hormones they make our body do funny things, sometimes the progesterone we take make people have sore breasts. hoping for that BFP for you.

gel - I was like you and i tested early, in the end i used about 17, its hard isn't it because even though you have a bit more hope now, you still cant allow yourself to believe it, it mad, but all looks positive so keep up the PMA.

gregmbarry - welcome, i am sure you will get lots of support, i know i would of been lost without this place. GOOD LUCK

Eminde - so sorry that you are unable to continue, but great news you will have ec. Will be praying for lots of frosties for you. The fet process is so much easier and your body will be recovered, so the odds are in your favour. Big hugs to you though because i know you must be gutted. your still welcome here though :D

Hi everyone

Just checking in to see how everyone is doing.

Eminde - so sorry to hear you are not going ahead this time but wishing you lots of luck for the next time ... patience may be a virtue but it doesn't come easily at such a stressful time!!

I am a bit worried now - having read many posts about people taking bed rest and not working. I live in the Netherlands and here they are very pro exercise and behaving as you would normally - I was told that gentle exercise (particularly walking) is very good as helps with the circulation. On the day of my ET I took a two hour gentle walk and have had a gentle one hour walk every day since then - following the Dr's advice. Now, having read that everyone else takes it easy if I get a BFN I know I am going to feel that I have 'walked' my little embryo out .... Now I don't know whether to carry on walking or to start resting ... maybe I am too late - it is all confusing with such differing advice - does anyone really know - I suspect not but you can't help feeling guilty whatever you do.

When I miscarried the last time I spent days analysing my every move and behaviour for the previous six weeks trying to work out what I had done wrong and what had caused the sad event - four years on ttc with no success it is easy to become obsessed and racked with guilt - irrational I know. Thank goodness for this site and the massive support that everyone gives.

Thinking of everyone and sending good vibes - especially now for the testers on the 1st .... hoping to see lots of BFPs  in Feb.

Hi maybe baby

Try not to analyze everything and think you are doing things wrong all countries are different with there advice,at the end of the day your clinic has had successes right??? so the walking must be ok as if it wasn't there would be no successes and they would tell you to rest!!

Quite frankly i think you need a medal doing all that walking!!

I know IVF isn't quite the same as natural conception but we do not rest for 2 weeks and have bedrest when we try naturally do we!!

Try not to worry youl'll be fine,i only rested for 1.5 days then went for a walk too i needed the fresh air and i bet the scenery is lovely where you are!!!

Take care and good luck

Hi maybe baby
Its so difficult to know what to do! My clinic advises to just get on with your life and not wrap yourself in cotton wool - but to take it easy and keep away from stress.
I've been doing a lot of asking around and research, and I think the bedrest thing is worth a try. I'm sure it doesnt guarantee anything though, as there have been many positives without it.....
I think just following your instincts is a good thing - allowing your body to tell you what it needs. Doing ivf has really shaken up my beliefs! I used to believe a lot more in fate and .."when the time is right" etc, but I really feel its much more arbitrary than that, and that its very little to do with what we do or dont do. After all, there's been many a heroin addict who has fallen pregant and carried to term (excuse the bad example, but helped me with the guilt!).

Gabriella and Joanna - sorry I got the date wrong - I thought today was the 1st!!! Goes to show how distracted I am.....good to hear you have a faint positive though G, as I'm sure this is a point in the right direction.

good luck to everyone in the coming days and for the rest of the month!!!

I was told just to take it easy but get on with my life. They also told me walking a bit was good, but they referred to me walking around my flat since I live on the fifth floor with no elevator! So the walking is good really as long as you aren't straining yourself and it doesn't sound like you are! And this wait is unbearable! I'm not doing any hpt, so tempted lol but so scared and after my "buy one, don't buy one" rants to my husband he won't let me near them anyway now lol.

Hello Sue e and eveyone,

I am Laura and just joined the site. Lovely to meet you! I should be testing on the 16th of Feb. It will depend if I have enough eggs to make to blasto ivf or just a 2 day transfer. The fresh embryos will be mixed with the last 3 frozen ones to 'start a little race' to see which ones become blasto.
I have not been responding well ( 6 follies on Gonal F 375)but then I have never had more than 7 eggs from ivf and one made it!

I always made myself rest, rest ,rest for about 3 days and then got bored and went back to my old ways.
On my last ivf, I didn't dare move and unfortunately I became completely locked into a position and had to go to a chiropractor to fix my back and let me be mobile again!

To all the names below and others to be tested in February, I will pray for a positive result for all.
Love to all
Laura
