Hi all!!
Kim,
Hows Jenna?
3 months already huh?time does fly!
Any clue on when they turn or strat trying to turn over?
I'm having the time of my life with Dhruvaa.
I just keep gazing at her-I just wish she started talking to me soon- cant wait when she starts to play more- though she does give the most lovely toothless smiles I've ever seen!

Cheryl,
welcome here!
Its an awesome feeling isnt it?

Hows everyone else?

hi all. i guess our silence is due to increasingly busy lives! i know that my days seem packed from beginning to end but am loving it all.

Smita, i think that from 4 months onwards your baby may be able to roll over, usually just one way.often it's later. ned is getting very good at a half roll but cant quite get himself all the way over. frankly i'm quite relieved as i dont have to go through all the anxiety of him rolling onto his tummy in his sleep yet! he is a strong little boy. his head control is brilliant now and he is developing amazingly with all the sounds he can make..he has learnt how to do a high pitched scream this week which he delights in showing off all the time!

after 12 weeks (he is now 15) things are really settling down. i have now sadly stopped breastfeeding but he has taken to formula really well. we now have our evenings back and he wakes once in the night on the whole. he feeds around 22.30 then again at 04.00. i feel much more sane as a result. we were worried that we wouldnt get him from our bed where he had spent around three weeks, but he has been brilliant. he is now able to get to sleep very quickly on his own at any time. somehow the signals are much clearer now. we didnt go down the routine road in the end and he seems to have settled into his own pattern which i am delighted about.

each day is great with him. he is such a happy baby. it would be lovely to hear how any of the rest of you are doing. i hope you're having as much fun and joy as i am.

Hi everyone!

Smita - Arent the smiles just wonderful? I just love the interaction I get with Jenna. The playing will start happening very soon. Jenna used to cry when I put her on her playgym. She loves it now, hitting and kicking her toys and also grabbing and studying them intently.

Minnow - Great to hear from you! Wow! 15 weeks! Jenna is 14 weeks today! Cant believe it how fast the time is going! Its great that Ned has settled into a routine on his own and you are enjoying it all. Jenna has also put herself into a routine on a night. She goes to sleep really well now. Its nice to be able to get a good nights sleep! I love all the coos and smiles. Its a wonderful time!

Cheryl - Hope you are doing ok and getting some sleep!

Hi to everyone else, hope you are all ok!

Take care

Hi There,

I am just starting to come back after a nasty bout of postpartum depression. Never thought I would get it, but it took a hold of me. Luckily I have had the help of both sets of parents and will have someone come in a couple days a week. Our parents took turns staying with us to help me through this time. I cannot tell you how awful it is and I would not wish it on anyone. I have taken my doctor's advice and am taking medication and going to counseling for this. It does not really go away over night and can last a couple of months. Luckily I have had the support of family and friends. DH has been an angel helping me through all this.

Needless to say, today is the first day that I actually feel a bit like myself again. Luckily I have had no problem holding and kissing Siena. I guess some women have a difficult time warming up to their babies with this condition.

Siena is three months old and doing great. She is always smiling and giggling. She "talks" in her own language a lot. She has had a lot of attention this past month and has become very sociable. At least something good has come out of my illness.

I start my part-time job this week and I think (in my case) it will be good for me to get out of the house a bit.

I hope you don't take this as a negative note, but just wanted to let you know where I have been. The weather is beautiful here and Siena and I leave for sunny Florida to visit my parents next week. This will be our first flight together! She has a fantastic pair of baby sunglasses and she does not mind wearing them. I hope to send some updated photos soon.

Hope everyone is well,
Sheri

Sher,
I am so glad you are bouncing back to being a sunnier self again.
Wish you lots of luck with your new job.
My cousin went through this and her job helped her tremendously..
Siena sounds like a very happy baby- do share more pics.
Minnow,
Thank you.Ned sounds so great too!Give him a cuddle from me.
Getting your evenings back must be good for you and dh..
Dhruvaa still sleeps with her- I find I'm obssessed with her to the extent of not want her to sleep in her crib at night  and be with us instead- I wonder if I should start giving her some independence, but when night comes in, I cuddle her and put her in with us! Keep telling myself that will shift her out the next night..

Kim,
I've started putting Dhruvaa in her playgym too and she stares at the dangling toys intently and talks to them, but not yet started reaching out even when i hold them within her reach- I guess thats the next stage..

Cuddles and kisses to all your little ones.
Hugs,
smita

Hello everyone, just a quick one from me
Glad to see your all OK and glad things are inproving for you Sher.
Dont have much time to do personals sorry!
Basically I've been playing nurse for the past 2 weeks. Abby came home from school with a really bad cough, cold and stuffy nose. Just as she was getting over it Ryan got it so I've been up with him most nights as he goes to sleep and an hour later he wakes himself up coughing and choking so he has to sleep next to me so i can sit him up as he chokes. Hes starting to get better now thankfully but it is so awful seeing your helpless little baby suffer so bad and knowing you cant do anything. On the plus side i've got so much childrens medicine now I think i could start my own franchise of boots!
Anyway thats my quick update got to go, bottles to wash etc
Hope to post more soon

Susie -
Sorry to hear that your babies are sick. I guess Ryan will have a wonderful immune system by the time he goes to school.

Smita -
Dhruvaa will be grasping those dangling toys shortly and it is also neat to see them clasp their hands together. Each week a tremendous milestone.

Kim and Minnow -
Hope all is well with you and everyone else on this board.

I started my part-time job today and it felt good for me to get out. I guess after 16 years of full time work, it was a little to fast for me to decide to stay home all the time. Part-time is just the answer for me - I HOPE!

My goodness I can't believe I haven't been on this side yet - after so long trying to get here as well.

Congrats to you all and it's great to hear all your stories.

Amelia is doing really well - I just love being with her and seem to spend as much time playing, talking, singing and entertaining as I can. We go out everyday for some fresh air and she loves being clucked over by everyone.

She's been in her own nursery since day 5 and now has grown so tall that she is sleeping in her own cot/bed - mind you that "feet to foot" position is useless as whenever I go in to see her she has wriggled her way half way up the bed and turned sideways!!! How to stop that!!! (Any hints?)

It's good to read all about the babies and Susie I really hope that the twins are better soon.

Smita - Dhruvaa sounds like she's progressing really well - I bet, like me, you love holding her and don't really want to put her down.

Hope you're all ok - Cheryl and Jacs how are you both doing?

Love

Little P

Hi everyone

Its good to hear from you all about your little ones!

Little P - Great to hear from you! Amelia sounds to be doing wonderful! Grown into her cot bed already, wow! Jenna started moving up her carry cot and kicking her covers off. Shes now in Grobags. They are great. You dont have to worry about the feet to foot positon either. Sounds like Amelia will be crawling before you know it!!

Sher - Good to hear you are feeling better and you have got a good supportive network around you. Hope you are enjoying your new job.
I bet Siena looks so cute in her baby sunglasses! You'll have to send pics of her wearing them! Enjoy your trip to Florida and take care.

Smita - I bet Dhruvaa looks so cute when shes talking to her toys! She sounds far more ladylike than Jenna who spends more time kicking and hitting hers!

Susie - Sorry to hear about Abby and Ryan's bad colds. Hope you are ok and managing to get some sleep through it!

Hi to all the other Mummy's. Hope you are all doing ok. Ive lost count of how many of us there are now who have had babies this year! Quite a few though now!

Take care all

Hi Kim

I've got the grobags ready, but unfortunately I can't use them yet as Amelia is not heavy enough - it says on the back that she needs to be 10lbs!!! Ah, well I'm sure that's not far off now.

Isn't it a gorgeous day - I just can't believe how lovely and sunny it is out there - I shall have to go for a walk and make the most of this weather I think.

It's good to hear that Jenna is doing so well - I can't believe that she's already crossed the 3 month barrier, where does the time go?

Amelia sends big hugs and wet kisses to all.

Hi Little P

Ive just checked my grobags (which I got from Mothercare) and the minimum weight for 0 to 6 months size is 3.2kg/7lb. But like you said, shes probably not far off 10lbs now anyway, so its probably not worth buying another make.

I dont know what the weathers like here, I havent opened the curtains yet!!! Jenna normally wakes up when her Daddy gets up at 6 am and then normally stays awake after a feed. Today however she went back to sleep, so I got to lie in!!! Making the most of it, seen as though it doesnt normally happen!

Enjoy your walk. I will be going out later on. Jenna loves been on the move!

Take care

Kim

Amelia is putting weight on well now - she'll soon be in those grobags, but unfortunately they are 2.5 tog and may well be too hot for these warmer days - we'll have to wait and see.

Hope you are well and having fun - today is just gorgeous isn't it?

Hi Ladies

Post by Christine B »

It's been a while since I looked at this site and just found this chat section for new moms! We have gotten at least 11 inches of rain since last Thursday and have been a bit home bound. I hope you are all doing well with your little angels! Our angel Meagan Elizabeth is now 5 months and 1 week old. She is a beautiful blue eyed wonder with a great personality. She is growing and changing so much every day. She weighs about 16 lbs and is almost 28 inches long. We feel truly blessed. Hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day! Take Care!
