Hello All!

I have to admit, I really laugh when I read posts from you ladies "across the pond." Is a "cotbed" the same as a crib? Is a "pushchair" the same as a stroller? The lingo is very entertaining

Things are coming along just fine with me. Thank goodness my pregnancy rash is actually clearing up. I was told it probably wouldn't until after delivery but I guess I am one of the lucky few that doesn't have to wait that long. I've been feeling really good, lots of energy and not too puffy or swollen yet. No stretch marks "yet" for me... sorry Chelle! I'm sure they are just around the corner.

It is hard to believe that the 3rd trimester is also just around the corner! It seems that we have so much to get done. We haven't started on the nursery yet, haven't picked ANYTHING out yet except for a crib... lots still to do. Time is already going fast enough.

Great to hear from you.
Your Lingo is far better than ours. Stroller is such a lovely word. My DH and I really want to move to the states in a few years. We love it so much.
Glad to hear your rash has nearly cleared up. Theres nothing worse than itching. Especially in hot weather. How has the weather been in Minesota?
Don't worry about your Nursery. I am sure it will come together all in good time.
I do agree... where is the time flying to.
Are you still feeling lots of kicks now. I also had a few quiet days and its scarey isn't it.

Evening everyone,

Sorry to have been so lax about logging on - will try harder Charlie!

I am massaging my belly with so much oil and cream Chel to try and avoid those stretch marks that when i go to bed at night the sheets stick to me!

Don't worry Julie i have bought nothing but one pack of muslins(cloths that you can use as a newborn nappy or more commonly to wipe up dribble!) The whole nursery thing is all so mind boggling. I keep on ploughing through web sites looking for the perfect change table that can be turned into a normal chest of drawers afterwards. Arghh! I need all these space saving ideas as i live in a small thatched cottage so room sizes are weird.

Had my first antenatal yoga class today. Heavenly The last 20 minutes was all relaxation - went to sleep and just hoping i did not snore

Glad to hear everyone is feeling good and that all horrid side effects are clearing up. I have only 3 more weeks of work left and can't wait to be a lady of leisure.

Looking forward to hearing from you all again soon.

Hi -

Nappy... now that another one that makes me laugh. Must be a cloth diaper.

The weather here has been bearable, about 85 deg F (that's about 30 C) but this weekend will be 100 F (about 37 C) Ugggg... that is way too hot. Thankfully we have central air and thankfully I'm not as huge as my coworkers who are around 32-36 weeks pg. Those poor girls are really suffering in the heat.

I think my little babe has been inspired by the world cup soccer (football??) tournament I've been watching. He/she is kicking the heck out of me... and I'm loving every minute of it.

we measured charlies bump yesterday 24wks
and it was 50"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! now we hav read 1 post where chellya was 45" at 26wks with twins!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
so charlie is worried that we are gonna hav a giant baby
she was only small before gettin preg prob 30" size 10/12 uk sizes
is she huge?????
could u all measurre and report back pls

Hi,

I've unscientifically measured it here at work and mine seems to be about 40 inches around. The doc measured it yesterday (from top to bottom) in the front and it was 25cm.

I think if you are smaller, your belly may tend to get/look bigger as the baby doesn't have as much room to sprawl out like they would for a larger/taller person. Just my theory so that Charlie doesn't worry to much

I wouldn't worry... now I am worried I am not big enough!!!

Prior to falling pregnant, I was a size 12/14 (uk) but when I got pg, I didn't put on much weight (apart from fluid from OHSS) for ages and ages.

If you have had scans etc which I know you have, if there was any concern, they would have said.

I am sure you are just having a very healthy, happy bubs.

funny thing happened last night
well wasnt at time but hey
i sleep downstairs at the moment just so charlie can hav the whole bed to get comfy and not too hot want her to be able to get a good sleep without worrying about waking me when she uncomfy or goes for 1 of her many wees everynight
so last night im asleep downstairs dreaming about my little boy playing for england in the world cup
when im woken up by a scream then another then another so im up outta bed running upstairs thinking he is on his way
panicking that hes too early and worrying about charlie i crash though the bedroomdoor and there she is eraplugs still in hair all over the place dribble still on cheek
HOLDING HER BLOODY CALF COS SHE GOT CRAMP!!!!!!!!!!
wot a nightmare so i gave it a rub and went back to bed
how are you all getting on life seems so perfect at the moment im sure you all feel the same

Hi guys,

I can sympathise entirely with Charlie - those night cramps sure do hurt!! A tip i have been given is to drink a small glass of milk or tonic water before you go to bed. I have also stopped sleeping with a pillow between my kness and that seems to have helped as well.

I would not panic about your bump size Charlie. I am about 41 inches around now and feeling huge

I agree, those middle of the night leg cramps sure are a pain! ha ha ha. Everytime I wake with one, I try to practice breathing and relaxing, like they are labor pains or something. I know they are mild compared to what the real ones will be like, but at least I feel like they are useful to a certain extent.

I have had lots of Braxton Hicks contractions lately... once I figured out that that's what I was having. Silly me just thought the baby was trying to force its way out through my bellybutton. I get probably 20 a day. Does anyone know if this means I should be worried about going early or pre-term labor? I know, I should ask the doc!

well im hot as hell
jeez whens it gonna get cooler
its quite funny i gotta drink loads cos its hot and gotta keep hydrated
but then baby kicks my bladder and its a a run to the toilet for me lol sometimes im going evey 5 mins think hes using my bladder as some kind of fitness training device a trampaline prehaps
this weather really is hard going though
thankfully we gotta mobile aircon unit so i have richard carrying it all over the house
where i go the aircon goes
lol i think its quite good exercise for him especially when its gotta go up stairs lol
as for braxton hicks yea bin having them for a fair few weeks now
lol i read if you hav more than 4 an hour you should contact hospital
blimmey bin having more than that for a while dont think hes on his way yet though
i think hes making quite a nice home in there for now
its so great to feel him moving
cant do anythting but smile

Hi All

I have just had my scan and all is well.
one baby is breech and one is transverse. They have been like that for about the last 8 weeks. I hope baby b turns round before I am due!!!
The girl is slightly bigger than the boy, so we know who's gonna be in charge!!
I am so excited about the whole thing.
Am starting to have trouble sleeping recently though. It seems such an effort just to turn over in bed.

Dear Chel,

I am so glad they are looking good. Aren't the girls always in charge? It is so exciting seeing htem again isn't it.

I had a scan today (they were worried about my PAPP A levels - affect growth seemingly). Well the minnow needs to be renamed moby! I am measuring 2 weeks ahead of my due date - help! Still don't know sex - even though both Dh and i were trying to see. Baby is running out of room so did not get a good look

Mine is currently breech with its legs in my ribs OK possie until it starts kicking!

Have had the plasterer over to give me a quote to sort out the spare room - potential nursery. Decided best to get moving as if this baby keeps growing at this rate i might go early.

Hope everyone is well and loving their pregnancies - the reality of it actually being a baby at the end is starting to sink in.

Hello Girls!

Well, I jinxed myself. Turns out the contractions are pre-term labor. I am getting 10-12 per hour... way too many! So, the doc has me on bedrest for a couple of weeks and medication. We will see if that will quiet things down. Now I only have 3-4 per hour.

I'm pretty stressed about this... no more working ($$) and a million things left to do (DH said "just make me a list honey!") Well, it is best for the baby so I will do what I can to follow doctors orders! I will try to check in from time to time, but I have no internet at home right now so it could be very infrequently.
