hi girls...

just got back from the first ultrasound... twins for sure... the doctor saw another crescent-shaped sac, but felt it wasn't a third... he told me that there's a 40% chance for a miscarriage per embryo (based on my age)... next ultrasound is next Tuesday, 02/24.
Suzanne, age 41

Suzanne.....I'm from Canada and the only genetic testing I did was ultrasound (to measure thickness of neck) and blood testing...it's called IPS (Intergrated prenatal screening) and they both came back fine. We were not willing to risk losing the baby to Amnio as we were going to keep the baby regardless....we only did that much testing to either prepare us or give us peace of mind for the rest of the pregnancy.

Liams's MUm.....I'm not sure what testing for BETA is.....not sure we do that in Canada? A week from today I go for a blood test to see if I'm pregnant and check my HCG level....if all is good there, I go back in a day or two to make sure it's doubling I believe.

Have a great week everyone!

Hey...I did figure that out....in Canada I guess we just call in HCG and in the States you call it Beta....it looks like they call it a BETA HCG test! Funny how things are.

Suzanne....twins sound like double the love!!

Hi

Renee...ditto on the cute baby boy. Sorry Kel, it was late...sorry  hard to keep track of everyone. I often times have to go back and reread posts so I try to get it right.

As you know, I had my ultrasoundI dont have the official results from the doc but the sonographer said I had 13 follies, only 2 were at around 10 and the rest in a lower range 7-9...but very good range --What ever that means! My lining is 9.4; my blood work, still not known, I should find out around 2:00 today. I am excited I hope this works. I will dread having to stick myself again and again. I know the hard part is yet to come and my nerves are already frazzled just thinking about it. I have to say, however, that the meds this time around are so sossoooo much better. I dont feel as nausiated and bloated. Uggh it was awful in retrospect. i will update you'all later tonight. thinking of you all.....

Hello everyone, I hope you don't mind if I join this post. I have been reading and joining in but have not posted yet. I have followed many of your journeys for a long time and am thrilled that some of you are pregnant!

I am 42 years old and I am doing IVF number 2. IVF number 1 resulted in 4 eggs retrieved, 2 fertilised and a pregnancy that resulted in a miscarriage at 6.5 weeks. I am now stimming during my second cycle and am absolutely on pins and needles to see how many follies I have. I currently have about 5 and am about to trigger in a couple of days. I have reduced ovarian reserve (from the AMH test) of 0.3 - this is EXTREMELY low, and was wondering whether anyone had had a similar AMH result??

This is such a long long journey, and I am glad to have found you! My husband is a sweetie, but to be honest, he just doesn't get it !

 thank you, girls, for the kind congrats...

 and Kelly, thank you for updating the table... I should print it for easy reference when reading everyone's postings... you did an amazing job.

 AKMom... there was a pretty big discrepancy between the number my RE hoped would mature - he thought upper single digits, told me (8-9)... at ER, there were (12)... so don't be surprised if you get have more that expected at ER!

I just received the call regarding the beta this morning... 10038... guess that makes sense for now.

ok Guys I am freaking out a bit. Only 2 eggs fertilized normally. The third did not develop an envelope around the nuclei. So now I am down to just two. I am especially scared as we have always had 100% fertilization in the past. I just assumed it would be the same again this time :(

Suzane~congrats on having twins! that is so cool.

Kat~Congrats on all those follies! I knew you would be great. I've got egg envy.

Santa~welcome to the board. I have diminished ovarian reserve too. But I'm not sure what the AMH test is? What is your FSH?

Missy~Sophia Grace is a lovely name! Here's hoping she gets a sibling soon.

Lynnie~Thanks for sharing your egg history--it made me feel better. Hope you get some good news soon.

Renee~Rocco is such a cutie!

Kelly~Thank you for updating our list and for your encouraging words.

Santa i am glad you are joining us. Don't worry about the AMH. I don't and i have you beat. Mine is 0.0 something. It doesn't tell you anything more than AFC and FSH. There are many REs that don't even look at it.
At our age it is just a numbers game. Your response to stims is typical for our age. SUCKS!!!. Sometime today i will go back and edit the list that i just posted to include you.

Kat, everything sounds great this time. They are all clustered close together in size. That is just what you want. You will still hold the record number for follies in the group. Lets just hope the are good quality too. I will update your info. later today too.

I have to scoot for now but Remember everybody PMA!!!!!!!!!

Liam's Mommy....nice job!! That is amazing....it is so comforting to see everyone going thru the same things....I know I am very lucky to have one little girl from IVF alone ( this is IVF #2 for me actually...you have IVF #1 beside my name).

Suzanne...that is a nice high HCG number...twins does make sense! Congrats again!!!!!

Santa...welcome to the club and wishing you success in the journey....yes, the men don't get it sometimes....always saying 'don't worry'!!!

Sue, women get the job done with one egg every month. Try not to panic. But i would like to know what your plan is. Are you doing a day 3 transfer or waiting to see if any make it to blast? Have you thought about it?
