Hi gals--Still resting over here. I swear my stomach has expanded a LOT the past few days. I hope that means these babes are getting BIG!!! :)

Di--Good luck studying....I hope that your little ones will be patient enough for you to finish your exam before they make their appearance!

Laura Lou--I'm glad the check up went well. I'm sure Nicholas will eventually catch up with Jeremy....you never know, he might even outweigh him some day! Good for you for going out to dinner--that gives me and my own DH so much hope!! Your mom is a saint for being willing to watch 2 little infants at one time.

Em--I'm so sorry to hear about your old friend. It's just a shame that some people have to go through SO MUCH pain on their journey to parenthood, while others find it so easy. My SIL just found out she's pregnant again (totally surprised...they thought they were done). While she's dealing with the shock (and I'm sad to say a bit of frustration) of raising another child, other people are desperate just for one baby. I really don't understand it. I know God has a plan, but it just seems so out of whack. I hope your friend will find the strength she needs to get through this difficult time.

I hope everyone else is doing well! Belly rubs to all...

Hi guys,

35 weeks today! Still no movement at the station though. DH wants them to come tomorrow so their birthday will be 5/6/7 to make it easier for him to remember. Oh I just remember you Americans do the date backwards to us, so you probably didn't get that.

Hope you all had a good weekend.

Em

PS: my money is on Di or Kim going next. Even though I have a date set, I just can't see these guys going anywhere before then.

:D  :D Thirteen Weeks and six days!! :D  :D

Hello everyone.
My God Laura could your babies get any cuter? They should be doing comersials. I'd have to buy anything they advertised! LOL

Kimberly, Good to hear you are having the same big bra fantasies as me.

My belly is getting bigger and bigger but the rest seems the same - so far.

How early can kicking be felt with twins? I can't wait. Some times I think i feel my womb turning about - if you know what I mean - but then I think it could just be my digestive system - which isn't nearly as exciting.

Love to you all,

Em--congrats on hitting 35 weeks! Doesn't it feel so reassuring each time you hit that "next week"? If the babies would come now, you know they would be in very good shape! I'm hoping to make it 36, and I really think I can. I'll know more after my dr. appt. tomorrow and my US today. I have a feeling that these bubs aren't going to come until we go in and get 'em! We'll see what date my doc gives me....you just might beat me!

Quita--Sounds like you're doing well. Each week is a gift! Are you experiencing any morning sickness? When I was at your stage, I felt oh so yucky. :? As for kicking, my kiddos were late. I didn't feel them until 20 or 21 weeks. Right now, you're probably feeling your ligaments stretching, trying to make room for that growing uterus. Don't worry though, they're moving in there!

Have a great day gals!

Good morning everyone! Hope we are doing well out there and that the babies are all snug and happy!

The race really is on here! Whew!!!! I'm not sure who I think is next but I'm glad I don't have any money on this one! It's going to be close. I can't wait until we have more pictures to see. Laura's little ones really gave me baby fever. Just can't wait until we all know what it's like to look down and see out babies side by side. It's still hard to believe that there is two in there!!!!

Kim~ It sounds like you are in good shape to make your 36 week mark. What a relief! That's my goal. Are you getting your date tomorrow or do you have one already? I can't keep it all straight anymore! :? I'm excited to hear what your OB has to say. Let us know all the good news!

Quita~ WHOOHOO!!! 13 weeks is a happy spot since you have cleared your first big hurdle. I felt a lot calmer after that for sure. Seems we are close in size also. My belly had finally grown but I'm the same every where else also for now. Better enjoy it while it lasts!

Em~ Congrats on 35 weeks!!! The clock is ticking!!!! It would have been sweet to have a birthday so easy to recall for DH. My DH aims for general time frames and hopes to be close enough. It's the thought that counts.
I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. I can't imagine losing one or both of these babies now and their sorrow must be unimaginable. Theya re certainly in my thoughts and prayers.

Laura~ The boys seem to be doing fabulous! That's just great to hear! I'm sure before long you will never know that one was smaller than the other or had any problems at all. Sounds like your body is almost back to normal as well! Kudos!!!! I have great big dreams of my waist returning in the end. Sadly, it's been my only body part that has great muscle tone and is in good shape with no effort. Let's hope I can still have it back one day! All in good time. Keep us posted. Pics are always good! :D

Our weekend was really eventful! Dh surprised me with a new boat on Friday. I think the phrase "It's easier to ask forgiveness than permission" rings a bell here. I like how the boat is a gift for the pregnant woman though. Clever! I can't complain and it wouldn't do me any good so I might as well invest in a variety of summer wear and enjoy it.

We had two family parties and the twins seem to be a great topic of conversation! Everyone was saying how tiny I was for 5 month and that made me feel so good since I don't feel tiny anymore. Lots of belly rubs and questions. People are always riddled with questions when they hear we did IVF. It's nice to be able to inform and have a success story to go with it.

Trying to get some progress mad around the house and I seem to finally be making head way. Better get back to it before I decide on a nap instead. Take care everyone and have a great afternoon!

Kimberly--A boat, huh? That's funny! :) He was obviously thinking of a woman with an expanding waistline when he made that purchse! What kind of boat is it? We like to go boating a lot on lake Erie, but I can't foresee myself doing much of that right now! By the way, my DH runs an online boating care company (myboatstore.com). If you guys ever need cleaning, waxing supplies, etc.---you should check it out! Tell him "buckeyegal" sent you, and maybe he'll give you an IVF discount!

I did have our US today, and all continues to look good! Baby A is measuring at 5 pounds, 9 oz., and baby B is measuring at 5 pounds, 10 oz......they're both right on track! Yeah! That makes me feel so good to know that they have good weights right now, just in case they'd make an early appearance. I'm curious to see when I'll get scheduled for the section. I should know tomorrow! I hope!

I hope everyone else is doing well!

Kim - Brilliant weights! I can't wait to hear your date. My DH was very disappointed to wake up this morning and see me asleep and still pregnant beside him. He skipped off to work yelling "I'll see you in hospital later on this arvo!" Silly boy.

Kimberley - A boat! What a fabulous present. I have actually asked for a treadmill to try and get back into shape. And I am secretly hoping that he suprises me with a big diamond eternity ring as well, but I don't think that the finances will stretch that far. Do you guys do that in the US? Eternity rings after the birth of a child?

Laura - How are those bubs doing? Do they know that you are their Mummy?

Quita - Congrats on passing the 12 week mark! I felt bubbling in my belly at 16 weeks and then nothing until 20 weeks, which was a definate kick. Now I wish they'd give me a break sometimes as the skin on my belly is so tight, when they move a foot, I swear I will split in two! I found that I only noticed them when I was lying down at night at first as the movement is very subtle at first.

BP seems to be a little up at the moment, hovering around the 135/85 mark. I have to go in if it hits 140/90. But feel okay. Just trying to get my head around the fact that I will be meeting my two babies in less than two weeks.

Hugs, Em

Hello everyone!

Kim~ Your weights are fabulous! I wouldn't be worried at all to deliver babies that size right now. It sounds like they won't have to spend any time at all in the NICU. Congrats! I'll have to look up your DH's business on line. All I know is it's a wakeboard boat of some kind and it's pretty. I was into wakeboarding last year, pre-belly, but this year I'm just a passenger on smooth days. Men and their toys! It will be fun when I can actually enjoy it and have a cold refreshing drink at the same time so until then I will just look forward to the future. Thanks for the hook-up!

Em~ Your getting so close! I hope your BP doesn't go up anymore. Take care of yourself and keep us posted. An eternity band would be a great gift for sure. They are beautiful. My father gave me one for x-mas one year not knowing they had any signifigance and I do love it. Some men here in the US get gifts of some kind at the birth of a child and others don't. When I lived out east it was more common but here in the casual west it's less likely. I'm not really a big jewlery girl and DH usually gets me gifts with motors. But because of it we get to share a lot of time together so I'm not complaining. Pics are required if DH springs for the ring!

Have a great night you two and maybe we will have babies by the end of the week!

Hello ladies...

Kimberly--Your new boat sounds like fun! Just think...next summer you and your babies can be boating and swimming together! :)

Em--How's your BP doing? Any news from down below? I know what you mean about your belly being stretched to the max. When my kiddos move around, it's like I have aliens inside me!

Well, as for my appointment, it was like being stuck in the twighlight zone today! 1st of all, my BP was up....not dangerously high, but it was pretty high for me. (I'm usually in the 117/70 range...) Then, to make matters worse, baby A was not cooperating for the NST. I was there for nearly 2 HOURS trying to get this test done. Well, at 4:00, they were getting ready to close the office, so they sent me over to L&D (where they have a better monitor), and had me do the NST AGAIN!!!!! ugh! The test at the hospital went much more smoothly though (only 45 min.), and all looked good. My BP also went down (not sure how, as I was pretty miffed). So, now I get to call the doctor tomorrow and see about scheduling my section. She didn't want to do it today until they could get a better read on my NST. She was even thinking that I might deliver today. Thank goodness she was wrong! Oh, and I'm also dilated 1 cm now, and still effaced 40%. I think I still have at least a week or more to go...

Now, I'm off to try and finish up all the stuff I didn't get to today....I seriously blew 5 hours between the dr.'s office and L&D. So frustrating....

How's everyone else doing?

Good morning mommies!! Hope all is well out there and perhaps we'll have some baby reports this week! :D

Kim~ How frustrating!!! I'm glad your BP went back down and all seems to be well. After all that running around and time spent I'd be a mess as well. It's so exciting that you are already efaced and dialated! I'm looking forward to that day myself. you never do know how long you can be in that situation but I hope you get to see them healthy and happy soon. Take care and if we don't hear from you for a few days we';; know where you are!

This may sound silly but has anyone had a rock hard stomach from super early on? I actually called my OB about it the other day because everyone who feels my stomach says it's the hardest baby belly they have ever felt. I mean my belly is solid and seems to have a literal bowling ball inside. I'm also sore most often. They said it was normal because I'm so small and that I just had great stomach muscles that have to stretch but I have never seen anything quite like it before so of course I wonder? You know us IVF women. . .it's always one worry or another!

Have a great day everyone! I am in for a long one today so I'll hopefully sleep well tonight! Take care~

Kimberly--

My tummy is as hard as a rock too. I was in pretty good shape before getting preggers, so I'm not sure if it was good muscle tone, or the fact that there are two babies hogging up all the room down there. I honestly don't have another belly to compare it to. I wouldn't worry if I were you , though. Your doc would have noticed if it was a problem.

Hi guys,

Kimberly - My tummy also was rock hard for a while there and then I had a lot of pain across the top and then it went softer. I saw my doc and he said that the pain was my abdominal muscles finally giving up the ghost. I have been more comfortable since the split but worry about what will happen once this is all over! My tummy is getting hard again now though.

Kim - 1cm dilated is exciting! I reckon you'll go this weekend. Have you been having pain down low? It feel like its my cervix stretching and burning. I passed a little bit of browny mucous on Tuesday night but only about a thumbnails worth, so I'm not sure if its of any co-incidence.

My BP hit 145/88 yesterday and I rang my doc's office. He got me to retest after half an hour and it dropped to 133/87. I have to go see him today and he'll check me out. I hope he looks at my cervix today. I would love to know if I am dilated at all. Only 1 and a half weeks to go at the most........

Hope everyone else is good.

Em--Take that back....I don't want to go this weekend! My sister is graduating from college on Sunday, and she's BEGGED me not to have the babies on her day. I'm really hoping to go at least another week! I hope! I have had a little bit of that same kind of discharge (but not the pain). I had it today. My doc warned me that this can happen after an internal exam. Did you have an internal recently? That might be it, or could this be the "bloody show" I have heard about? I'm not really sure. Did you get an exam today? I sure hope your BP has gone down. You actually might be next if your BP stays high.

Keep us posted!

Sorry I haven't posted in awhile. As the boys get older, they are awake more, so less time to surf the net! They are doing well, getting big. They will be a month old on Monday. I can't believe it's been that long.

I see that several of you mentioned mucus. The evening before my water broke, I had a lot of clear mucus. I thought it might be my mucus plug but wasn't sure because it was clear. I told my husband that I thought I might be starting to dilate and maybe the babies would be coming in a week or so. That was about 7:00 pm Sunday evening. Monday morning at 1:00 am my water broke and I had them at 7:00 am. So mucus can definitely be a sign that things are starting to happen!

I will keep checking back here to see who had their babies next. I can't wait to see pictures.

Lauralou---NO way! They're almost a month old already? That totally seems impossible. Gosh. So they're sleeping less? That's actually a good sign for preemies, right? What are they weighing now? How's the feeding going? I'm always wondering how you guys are doing....you're my role model for how to be a mommy to twins!

As for the mucous, I've had more today. I'm not going to stress about it. I've heard it can take a week or more to go into labor after the mucous starts....however, as Laura shows...there are always exceptions to the rule! I'll be 36 weeks tomorrow, so I think we'll be in good shape from here on out. Every day will just be a bonus!

I did go to a twins club meeting last night. I got some good advice from experienced mommies. Their biggest advice was to get both babies on the same schedule as soon as possible. They recommended the book "Baby Wise" to help with schedules. I found it on Amazon for about 7 bucks. I hope it will help!

How are the rest of you gals doing? I hope you all are well!
