Ok, if you'll be a c-section mamma, the following thread is informative (it was for me, at least).

http://forums.prospero.com/n/mb/message ... 78.1&ctx=0

She cuts to the nitty gritty, ie: undies, etc...

Cocoa glad your cramps are getting better, I hope that you are getting your legs up at work I recently added a big box under my desk at work to put mine up. I too am total control freak at work and need to learn to let go but its hard. You really need to try for those babies.

I am having a girl we are both doing well. I had another appointment with the Peri yesterday baby is 3lb11oz and looks perfect! Still a week ahead of schedule. I am due on May 2nd but they are thinking end of April if she keeps up at this same rate. I have gained 19lbs and passed my sugar test so they said everything looks good. I have to have a non-stress test after 32 weeks just to monitor contractions and heart rate because of losing the other twin early on but they said really nothing to worry about.

Glad to see everyone is progresisng so well I try to keep up on readimg very bad about posting but wishing everyone a healthy safe delivery.

Whew girls... I can't seem to keep up!!! Its so much fun to hear about the progress of each and every one of you!!!

Aliann!!! A baby girl!!! That's awesome!!! I am so glad that everything is progressing well and that they are keeping a good medical eye on you... I can't believe you only gained 19 lbs - I am up 39 lbs but I can see very clearly that I have A LOT of blood and fluid that I am carrying around. I have those red splotches all over and get quite swollen by the end of the work day. Anyway, I think its fun to know what we're having. I think I would be going crazy if I had to guess at this point. I would be convinced I had two boys... I know that I was a little scared of two girls but that's because I know how tough those teen years can be AND now that they are without a daddy it would have been a big burden for big brother to bear. So now I have my new boy and my son has his baby sister... God knows what he's doing...

WC... are you having BP problems? I don't like the look of those fluctuations. Are you cutting out salts and preservatives? I ate really bad yesterday and then today. I just had a craving for some junk stuff. Normally I eat REALLY well - celery and carrots with two hard boiled eggs, two little slices of cheese and oranges and grapes for lunch (which I eat little by little throughout the day). Today I did eat my lunch but had two chocolate cookies and some chocolate (and I don't even like chocolate - it didn't even hit the spot ya know?!?!) THEN I had burger king (whopper with cheese and fries) for dinner!!!! VERY BAD!!!

Shantala... you doing ok honey? You sound like all is progressing well... It's really odd how different twin pregnancies are. I am just so much more exhausted with these babies than I ever was with my son (though my son is tiring me out with me having to be on his tail to do what he's supposed to be doing...KIDS!!!!  )

So where is everyone else???? Vlada - how are you doing diet wise? Is anyone having cravings still?

LisaPa - honey I am so sorry you have been having a rough go of it. Believe me I know how hope can slip right out from under you but believe me with faith it's only temporary. You are going to have your dream my dear...

Well, its VD again and for the umpteenth year in a row I have no valentine... guess that's my destiny. Its weird though you know? Men have always been attracted to me but no one has ever wanted to truly commit to me. Even my DH of 16 1/2 years has been mostly out of this marriage. I truly thought it would change but the only thing that has changed is that he's become an even better liar...

Oh, sorry for such a vent... but I feel better...

Still on my PTL meds and holding steady at 29w now Yeay!!! Now I have to seriously start thinking about packing a hospital bag... A co-worker friend wants to take me shopping Monday -I want a nightgown set, she wants to help me pick out gpoing home baby outfits...she's a sweetie...

ok, looking forward to hearing from you all soon as we'll all be posting birth stories before long. My OB thinks I'll go early...greeeeaaaat!

Cocoa, so so happy you are doing well! And have fun shopping...
As to V-day and men...I hear you in "lot in life" ... sometimes there just is no rhyme or reason to why it either works out or does not...life is no darn fairly tale that is for sure (although children's fairy tales are LACED with darkness!)

We all send you roses in our thoughts  (and you know we'd gang up on hubby if we could   )!

My Bp is fine, it's just my worry wart mentality...and the reality that I don't have control over this process...I'm eating mostly fruits veggies and protein...damn, have had to cut out my ice cream :o

That said, BP during a twin pregnancy is unpredictable...my OB just said to take it easy, that it isn't the type of thing that can be totally controlled by diet, like BP normally can...the good news is no protein in urine, which would indicate preeclampsia if my BP got high...so I have hope it'll be okay.

Damn, you are LUCKY your OB is planning for the kiddies to come early...
I need to talk to my OB Tues and see if he can push my date from 38 wks 3 days to 37 weeks + a few days....I won't make it that far, I fear..I think these babies (if my BP does not stay low) will come when they want. sigh.

XXOOO
to all
Oh my god, ladies, I am over researching stuff

One more thing, this nanny business is expensive as hell and really complex, hiring an 'employee' to live in my home is so much more complicated than I thought it would be :?
I was thinking financially along the lines of an au pair...
sigh.

just a quick update from my side - had my 28 week scan yesterday (was actually 28 weeks and 4 days) and both babies aare doing great - now both vertex, baby a is 2lbs, 2oz and baby b is 2lbs 5oz. She actuallly turned on the 3d machine and we saw their faces - am totally in love!!

I need some help with the swelling - apart from raising my legs is there anything else I can do?? it's not not just my ankles but my feet, calves and hands. My hands actually hurt. My OB/GYN said it was par for the course but I now can't get most of my shoes on. would support tights help or make things worse?

WC, thanks for the link re. C sections - I was kind of hoping that both babies would stay breech for further justification but I still think we'll end up down the c section route. Can't believe our dates have been both set for 14th April!!! I'll be a week behind you at 37 weeks but all 4 babies will share the same birth date (assuming we make it that far!). My cervix was still 4.5 yesterday and so there is a good chance on my side!!!

Cocoa, Valda, mandy, hayley and all the other lovely ladies - how are you doing?

Love to all and happy friday

rebeccaj and WC it looks like you guys are going give birth around the same time as me...My due date is April 10th, but I feel great and don't see any reason not to carry to the fool term (maybe even a little bit over:)...
I see that carrying twins is not fun all the time...I'm sure it's worth it 100%, but right now it seams that you guys have all the pregnancy symptoms +++x2...Every time I read your posts I don't really feel like responding since I don't have any of your troubles...The only thing that I'm fighting with right now (sorry for TMI) is itching down there; at first it looks like a regular yeast infection and doctor told me simply to take Monistat 1 (spelling??) and that fixed a little bit of discharge that I had, but nothing can stop this stupid itching form the outside...I'm taking showers twice a day now, sometimes even 3 times (could it be a dry skin????)...

Went to the doctor yesterday, (lost 1 pound since last time!!?!?!) but he seams not to be worried re my weight, baby is right size and the heart beat is great. And baby is a jolly one too, she is moving a lot and reacts to my husbands voice:) He talks to her and she is calm, like she's listening, and the moment he stops she starts to move again.

Cravings: still a split pea soup with out meal (!! go figure the combination   ) but recently I start craving the chocolate. Luckily, sometimes if I eat an apple when craving the chocolate it does the trick, but not all the time; so I figured a little bit of chocolate every other day would not hurt me that much.

Sleeping is becoming a challenge. No mater how much I surround myself with pillows I always end up on my back. DH is helping lately; he moves close to me with his back so when I roll back in my sleep I don't go too far
 I drink a lot of water during the day but it seams that all the urinating is happening during the night. Does that happens to you guys? And my belly looks much bigger in the evening then in the morning. Like I retain all the watter during the day. Still walking every day for an hour.

I hope you guys will have a great weekend :D

OMG CroElla!!! It sounds like you are having a really great pregnancy!!! I mean WALKING FOR AN HOUR EVERYDAY!!??! That's great!!! I have had a singleton and now twins and I can for sure say that carrying twins is so much more challenging but I also know that it's not that way for everyone who has had twins... A woman who works in my building had twins a little more than 3 years ago (she delivered them at age 44 so she was no spring chicken) and she worked up to week 36!!! I do NOT know how she did it. I am planning on two more weeks and if I am still up to it I will continue for another two (to March 14th). I truly hope I make it as I will be 33w 2d at that time. I am on terbutaline sulfate for contractions and BTW... I too am getting quite swollen...

Ah the swelling... by the end of the day my thighs are almost twice the size not to mention the calves, cankles and feet... Yuck!!! Today I had a good appetite and ate my entire lunch and then some animal crackers and pretzels upon my return to the office. THEN I had a BK Big Fish sandwich (no fries though) and my stomach is so full (I digest slowly) that I cannot drink my water without feeling as if my stomach is being split in two. I know I will suffer reflux (I have suffered it for less). Anyway, the swelling does cause some pain (like bruising kinda pain) - anyone else feeling that?

I am so tired!!!!.... but my back hurts and I find myself on my back at night too!!! I can't help it, its so much more comfortable than on my left side not to mention the fact that my left shoulder and hand get numb. That AND PEEING wake me up several times a night. I have to take tylenol (and sometimes tylenol pm) to get relaxed enough to sleep at night but all the getting up to pee keeps me from having the good night's sleep I really need...

Monday is President's Day and I have the day off (YEAY!!!!) I have my tax man coming at 9:30 (here's to a solid return) and then a massage scheduled for 11am after which I will see the chiropractor and then my OB. The Masseuse (sp?) works in the same building as the chiropractor (actually its a house - kinda neat) and they both specialize in treating pregnant women... AND the chiropractor adjusts kids 14 and under for FREE so I am bringing my son with me (he's 14). I hope it helps - he has Asperger's autism and she believes working on the neurology component can help...

I am still going strong at work though I do have to admit its not easy as my body is so bulky and I get so HOT!!! but as long as I relax upon my return home I have been ok with getting up in the morning. I just have so many reports to get out before I go out and the last two weeks to the 14th will help me to finish them AND go through the 4th fo 5 trainings we have to attend this year. It would be so great to be caught up and return for next school year ready to go...

The hard wood floor guy is installing the floor in my dining room and hallway tomorrow... He seems like a good guy (he's a replacement guy cause the original guy had hernia surgery today) except that its going to cost a bit more than the agreed to price with the original guy. The original guy STILL has to put in the carpeting and I'm not holding my breath. He told my girlfriend (who is actually the one who referred me to him) that I hadn't finished paying for the materials but THAT IS NOT TRUE and I have the paperwork to PROVE it!!! So I am wondering if he overextended himself and is getting mixed up or if he's a "joker" who's trying finagle... In any event at least I will have a nice HW floor for the shower which will be HERE so I don't have to transport anything and friends I haven't seen in ages will get to see my home.

Well, my babies are over 3lbs each - nice!!! and I feel them all the time. They are so much more active but will probably slow down as I get bigger. When I lay down on my back my belly feels soft so I am thinking I may be able to get away with this pregnancy without stretch marks (didn't get any with my son). I am just wondering about the scar tissue at my belly button incision for the removal of my gallbladder last year - do you think that will stretch into a stretch mark? I know that scars don't have elasticity so... well, whatever...

I am still not excited about the babies and that's due to the fact that I cannot even clean my own house of take proper care of my son, dog and cats. I feel disabled... The babies' room is STILL my office, STILL a mess and the carpet STILL has to be stretched properly but until the carpet guy comes - whenever THAT'S going to be - there is nothing I can do about it. I hate being so disorganized... I DO have great friends though and I know they will be here to help me... THAT said... could I hate my DH any more than I do?!?! Nope don't think so... he even ignores our son because the poor ******* (yeah, poor lying thing) doesn't want to talk to me he just keeps on hurting his son just like he has over the years with his shinanigins (sp?). It will be a challenge to raise these babies on my own but it will be easier without him than with him believe me...

OK, enough bitchin'

Love you all...

Hi Ladies, just a quick question...has anyone's boobies started leaking at all? My DH fell asleep on my chest for a while last night while he was feeling the babies, and when he got up there was a wet patch on my t-shirt with my nipple smack band in the middle!

I tried to blame it on him dribbling on me but I think it might have been milk. Anyone had any signs?

Hayley...

Just wrote a long post and my browswer closed on me :x :x :x

I just wanted to say what a cute story... I am sure that, even though bb leakage is NOT out of the realm of possibilities, it was was probably your DH drooling  adorable...

Well, I had an intimate experience with acid reflux last night... While SLEEPING it came up AND OUT!!!! UUUggghhh... I had to fall back to sleep sitting up. I did manage to "catch" it so I didn't have to change my sheets etc... but yuck!

I swear the babies decide its time to grow on the weekends. This morning, though my legs and feet look normal by belly is HUGE!!! I'm not buying anymore maternity clothes so the few large I just bought will have to get me through work the next 2 to 4 weeks...

My hard wood floor is in!!! It took 16 hours on Saturday and everything that could have gone wrong with this whole process has gone wrong... its been such a nightmare and I'm not crazy about a couple of the transitions between rooms/butting up to baseboard molding but I DON'T CARE!!!!! Its done... but the carpet guy has his phone off since his supposed surgery on Friday and I wonder if I'll ever hear from him again. The floor guy said if need a carpet guy to give him a call... problem is I DON'T HAVE THE CARPET I PAID FOR!!!! Why are people so damn lame?!?!?

Well, gotta go girls - the tax man is coming in an hour and I have to get dressed...

Hello Ladies,
Looks like everyone is doing good, I am soooo excited for all of us!!!! :D :D :D
I went to the doctor today and I have gained 7 pounds in 2 WEEKS    . She yelled at me and said that i have some water retention and that it is waaaay to early for me to have that. So, now i am off salt completely, no cheese, pizza, no cooking with salt etc. and she also said that when i come back in two weeks i should not gaing anymore weight. So, it was a little upsetting but otherwise everything else looks good so far.
I got three premie outfits today for going home outfits because all of my friends said that even newborn stuff will be too big for her. I am having my first baby shower with friends this coming Sunday, they are bringing me gift certificates and i can not wait to go shopping for my little one!!!!! :D :D :D
Well, good luck to everyone!!!!!!

OMG Vlada!!! My OB doesn't even LOOK at my weight gain!!! I actually lost 3 lbs since my visit last week and no one even looked... I just think she doesn't care if there are no other concerns. It is what it is and you are at the point in your pregnancy where you will have a couple of those "wow, I gained a lot since last time!" visits. I remember those with my son...

I actually think I lost the 3lbs for a few reasons... almost no room for food, very little appetite, now have a chest cough/cold AND an oral yeast infection (all food tastes crappy and it hurts too). Now I have diarreah (sp?) from the zithromax for the cough (spitting up green - yuck tmi) and the nystatin swish and swallow for the yeast... Yeay! just add that to the reflux vomit and now I am all set! :x

Well, gotta GO...

Hayley: My boobs leak too, a watery fluid streaked with white, they have been leaking for the last couple of months!!!!! Not a lot, but when I do something like put my bra on (i.e. stretching) a few drips comes out! I'm hoping it means I will be able to B/F without any problems!

Cocoa: Green - yuck!....ooh nasty!

I'm feeling pretty good all round really, people keep tell me I'm blooming (is that another word for fat?) My ONLY downside at the moment is my eczema has flared up pretty bad, last night I scratched so much my shoulders were bleeding and are very sore today!

I've just added nipple cream to my shopping list! (not for my shoulders....obvoiusly!!!!)

Come on ladies - we aren't fat at all, we are having a dream come true as uncomfortable as it may be. I really don't think my back could hurt any more than it does and I find that I HAVE to take tylenol EVERY NIGHT just to get a decent night's sleep...It's muscular I'm sure because I have regularly been seeing the chiropractor. It's those darn ribs connected to the back bone (lalalala - you know the song...).

I am actually feeling better. My cough is almost completely gone (I've heard the chest congestion and pneumonia can occur while taking terbutaline sulfate... greaaaat...) and the oral yeast infection is under control just enough to be able to eat properly (but not a lot). I take so many pills between the prenate vitamins, the vitamin B, the fish oils, the prometrium, and now the anitbiotics and the swish/swallow nystatin that my stomach just churns.

I know all of our babies are getting big and I'll tell ya my baby boy doesn't stop moving to the point where the nurse at my OBs office yesterday got annoyed with not being able to track his HB because he was moving so much.

I am so scared of these babies coming... I am scared of my future. I just don't know how I can do this on my own and keep my house too. Now I know I will make it at work through the 29th but I hope to make it through the 14th to be sure I have a June paycheck THEN I hope I hang on to the babies for 30 days after that to be able to collect disability (I have a 30 day elimination period - so duimb but they're all like that).

So, I do have the pressure and peeing, even if its a teeny tiny bit, will help greatly. I am still having contractions (and sometimes they hurt) but the terbutaline is helping me.

Hey - anyone been having abdominal stretching pains? I am getting them on and off right down the middle. I can't imagine how truly big I will wind up getting. I can't imagine getting any bigger but I know I will YIKES!!!!

So anyone heard from BabyB???? I am scared for her... we haven't heard hide nor hair in a month!!!! I will have to put out a thread to her if we don't hear in the next day or two.

LisaPa!!!! Where oh where are you and HOW are you doing sweetie??? I miss you!!!

Please ladies - check in with us all as we worry about your health!!!!
