Tabatha, maybe quality matters, not quantity? Or should you be blessed with a pregnancy, it will leave fewer frosties for you to decide what to do with later on? I am hopeful for you!

Oops sorry, ianmichael3 (Nicole) I was actually meaning lionoe (Nicole) who has her beta today. But I do certainly wish that you do get your BFP! That would be great if you were pregnant right now! :D
About your question, I can get my hopes up on any cycle, so I have to be honest with myself and consider my symptoms. If I have my usual monthly symptoms then I am pretty much quaranteed not to be pregnant. What sorts of symptoms, if any, do you have?

Tabatha, I'm sorry that you didn't get as many as you had hoped for. But I think that 7 is great. I'm sending lots of good vibes your way so they all just grow, grow, grow!! :D

Cynthia I hope you have great news today too!

Lionoe (Nicloe) Good luck with your beta today!!!

Happy Friday!!!!!

tabatha1975- 7 is still good!!! Only takes 1 good one to stick!!! What day are you doing your transfer? GL!!!

ianmichael3- when I was on progesterone supp. it took me 7 days after the last dose to get my AF, but I knew it was a BFN for me because I had blood test done that day. However maybe you should take a test since your only doing HPTs. Good luck :) hopefully you'll get a +

Sara30- thank you for your BFP charm, we all need it :)

babyluv123- I never tried acupuncture but there's alot of people who stand by it. I dont know if starting it in the middle of the cycle would help, I think usually people start it before they start ivf.

kimbob- so sorry for your - I hope your appt. with RE will be positive and that he will think of a new protocol that will bring you your BFP. Hugs to you.

sbr- yeyyyyyyy for your transfer next week. Sending all the sticky vibes for you!!!!

Michele- see you soon :D :D :D

AFM- I'm on d5 of stims, nothing to report as of yet had my b/w yesterday and nobody called me which means I'll stay on my same dose until tomorrows u/s. Will let you all know how many i got cooking in there.

Have a wonderful weekend !!!!

Kim, ok, yeah, I wondered if there wasn't another Nicole among everyone! This is such a busy thread, it helps me keep my sanity through this crap. NO symptoms at all, I think I'll call my RE next week and BEG for them to start my period..... It just feels gross not to have it!!

And GOOD LUCK with betas Lionoe (Nicole) & Cynthia!!!!

All these little images you guys put on are so cute, how do you do them?? (feel free to PM-private message- me directions so as not to clog up the forum)

ianmichael3 - I wish I had magical powers - that way, none us would be waiting for or suffering with AF - we would all just be magically expectant!!

dys24 - good luck with your U/S tomorrow! Can't wait to hear what's going on in there!

I have to make this quick...and will be on later to check on you all...my internet was down all morning, I was freaking out...but here I am!

Kim- I am sor sorry to hear about you bfn. I was praying really hard for you. Take the time you need for yourself, and be sure to let us know what you plan to do next. I completely understand how a bfn is a loss, and I admire the women here who have been able to cope with it. I have not yet dealt with it, and hope I do not have to. I was close with my first ivf, thinking I had a bfn and it was devastating, even though I have not experienced it myself, my heart breaks everytime I read about one of my dear friends here going through it. I wish you all the best...

melanie- I do agree, we need some bfp's badly on this thread.

tabatha- 7 fertilized is good. Let us know when your transfer is and how many you will put back.

Like I said, short and sweet, just wanted to let you know I am still here and reading, just finding time to post the past couple of days has been tough, I will catch up tonight for sure...talk to you all soon!

Happy Friday ladies! It's about 3pm here in the UK so we're well on the way to the weekend - hurray!!

Kim - I'm so sorry to hear about your BFN. I totally understand what you and Melanie mean about it being a loss, both of the embryo/s and the hope you carried around - I think we all have felt a little bit of that every time AF arrived after a cycle of TTC naturally or after a cycle of IUI, but obviously IVF is a step further (and in that sense the loss is more acute) because you actually have proper embies transferred so you start your 2ww knowing that you are already a stage further on than you've ever got before. Which I imagine (I'll be able to tell you for sure when I finally get there!) makes for more anxiety and heightened hope during the 2ww. And means you need to make sure you grieve for the loss so that you can get some closure and move forward. Does that make any sense? - I know what I mean but I'm not sure I'm expressing myself very well... Like Melanie, I really thought we were due a BFP on this thread. So I guess you will hear back officially on the beta tomorrow and will you be able to make an appointment when they call to speak to your RE about a different protocol?

Tabatha - I think 7 fertilised eggs is great. I know you were probably hoping for all 16 but 7 is a good number! From a very rough casting back over the posts, it seems that most people on this thread are getting about 45-60% of their collected eggs go to fertilisation, so 7 would be about right on that analysis. And as someone said, quality is what counts, you only really want the best ones to make it through to give you the best possible chance. When will you know whether you're doing a day 3 or day 5 transfer? And are you feeling any less crampy now? Hope so...

Cynthia - have you had your fertilisation report yet? So pleased that you still aren't feeling any OHSS symptoms, fingers crossed for a smooth run up to ET on Sunday...

Sarah - you must be in a very happy place now with your "beautiful" lining and "quiet" ovaries!! So it looks all on for FET on Thursday, huh? Happy 'thickening' over the weekend and next week. Those hot flushes are nice aren't they!! Only a few more days of those to go for you though...

Babyluv - I've read that research has shown that acupuncture can improve your chances at IVF by about 60% (so say a clinic's stats are 40%, with acupuncture that in theory would become 64%). The lady who I see for acupuncture specialises in fertility (which I think is very important when you choose who to go to) and sees a lot of women for IVF. I started seeing her when I began IUI last year and have continued ever since. She has said that you get the most benefit if you start having acupuncture before you start taking the drugs, as Chinese medicine assesses the whole body and person when deciding exactly what treatment each person needs, and it is difficult for her to do that once you start taking the IVF drugs as they mess with your body's natural rhythms. So I don't really know whether starting acupuncture midway through stims would give you all the benefits that research has shown it can bring, but all I would say is that I don't think it would reduce your chances. Interestingly, research has shown that acupuncture can also improve sperm quality (in terms of count, motility and morphology) and DH is seeing the same lady for acupuncture in the run up to ER to try and improve his side of things as well. Can't hurt, huh?

Nicole (Lionoe) - thinking of you today at beta.

To the other 2ww ladies (Sisi, Latie and aims), hope you are all managing to keep your minds off the wait. What have you been all doing to stay busy?

So have a good weekend everyone, I'll be checking in to see how you all are!

Tabatha - I'm afraid I have no idea about the chances as I've only looked into the stats of transferring one as against two. In the UK I'm not allowed to do three anyway. I'm guessing your clinic should have some stats of its successes with two transferring and three transferring? And maybe some of the US ladies on here have looked into the odds generally? For me (and this is just my own personal opinion), my decision on how many to transfer would be based on whether I could afford to do IVF again if I got the horrible BFN, my age (ie the younger you are the better your chances) and probably the biggest question for me would be, could I cope with triplets if all three embryos implanted?

Let us know what you decide! Either way, hoping for 7 strong embies for you.

Hi ladies, just a quick update. 10 of the 14 eggs fertilized! I'm very pleased with that report. RE seemed excited as well. Well I have to run to the pharmacy (crazy mail-order folks forgot to pack syringes with my progesterone  )

hello all! new to the forum. I originally posted in the Jan/Feb/March and was kindly invited here by hjw since I'll be going through my ER and ET in April 2009. I'm on day 3 of the Lupron injections and should start my stims on April 8. I'm excited and nervous and somedays I'm so positive and others I'm...not so positive. Did any of you have any side effects to the Lupron? I'm only on day 3 but soon after the injections I get extreme itching. Thank goodness it only last about 30 mins or so. And last night I got a horrible cramp and achiness in my foot. Although that may not be related to the Lupron. LOL :D
