blueeyedreamer wrote:If you did an antagonist protocol, will you share what it entails? Last time I did a fresh cycle I did the lupron.
Blue - i did both protocols - antagonist (ganereliz) and agonist ( lupron). antagonist is shorter but the egg quality for women of 35age and older is not as good on that protocol. My embryologyst recommended i stick with lupron to get teh best egg quality. it doesnt matter if you are in your 20s, but late 30s they recommend lupron.
Antagonist protocols with ganerelix are used for people that tend to overstim. then to avoid OHSS they can trigger you with lupron instead of HCG, avoiding OHSS.
Pocos - it looks like they used antagonist protocol on you with ganerelix and still you got OHSS. that's ridiculous. depending on how old you are i would go for the lupron protocol for best egg quality.

Tortilla- no, just asking in general. Welcome to the group! What is the flare protocol?
Lyd- thanks for the tip. I saw that the egg quality might not be as good. I'm kinda stuck. My neurologist doesn't want me on lupron due to my MS. I took it last time and really had a very hard time. I did not use it for my frozen cycles. My clinic is not thrilled that I won't use it.

blueeyedreamer - my clinic uses a protocol that is mixture of the long lurpon and antagonist. You start out like the long lupron but instead of using lupron we use 125u of ganirelix. Ganirelix comes in 250u syringes so we only use half the syringe. After so many days of ganirelix, follistim/ganirelix is added in. See if your clinic has any info on this. I go to SIRM and they use this protocol on most of the older patients and have good success. They also add estrogen priming to this protocol.
i know a lot of people say go to SART to look for clinic stats. the thing with sART is that there is no forum that checks to see if these stats are correct so clinics could be out right lying about what they are reporting. Plus many clinics will wean out the bad patients so that they have good stats. Some good clinics do not report to sART because there is no governing body. if looking for a clinic i would do lots of searches on the internet. go to forums and see where ladies are having success.

Leora- I am from PA about 2 and ½ hrs from NYC and 5 or even 6 from Pittsburgh. We usually go into NYC at least once a year. I really want to take my DH to a Steelers game in Pittsburgh!! As for the testing to see which embryo took, IF I get a bfp and IF we even transfer one of my (genetic) embryos we haven’t gotten that far about what to do about testing. PGD recommends b/c of the Fragile X and donor does not I guess because they are previously screened up an down ….. so we will see. How are you hanging in? Any word on how your other embies are doing?
Blue –My best cycle was the antagonist. My egg quality was the best and had no inconclusive on any PDG testing. Both my lupron cycles were miserable.
Pocos- Maybe this clinic will do icsi on all your eggs, and hopefully keep you from OHSS. When will you be cycling?
Christy- How are you doing? Are things starting to calm down for you yet?
Ninde – How is your hip?
Tortilla – Welcome! When do you start your meds?
AFM- My lining is a 10.9 today down from 12 on Monday. I asked why, they said it is no big deal and that is could be the positioning of me or the u/s. All blood work is great. RE didn’t seemed concerned about cramping or discharge. They said the donor will probably trigger tomorrow or Sunday night. ER Monday or Tuesday morning then shooting for a 5-day transfer. So I can’t believe no more monitoring for me, I am on my own until the transfer…. Also, I asked about the donor’s follicle count. They will not give me any information and I will only find out the numbers the day of the retrieval. What do you think about that? Oh I am also doing a split cycle and will be getting half of the eggs…. I am a bit nervous about being left in the dark I wish they could give me a ballpark…. I guess I am just getting anxious!

Hi Ladies,
Last time I POAS'd I was 6dp4dt. Yesterday I went to the store and looked for the pee stick from my dream, it turned out it was the EPT. I wanted to get the generic cuz it was 1/2 the price, but it was pink and not blue from my dream so I spent the extra $. This morning I POAS'd (9dp4dt) and I saw a faint plus sign! Im so nervous it will disappear tomorrow, but it gives me some hope to hang on to. I'll attach a pic. Thank for all your support ladies!

Madamex- I dont know too much about donors but I dont see why htey cant tell you since you are splitting them but I am sure they have there reasaoning.. I will have my fingers crossed that she made tons
AFM_- NERVOUS.... I do my 1st progesterone shot in about 5 mins Ill let you know how I do... lol I am a big baby lol
Madame x: I'm on my 4th day of meds. They're looking to do the Egg retrieval July 8th or 9th and embryo transfer 3 days later.
Kala: I got a faint positive line 8dp3dt and everyday after it would get darker. Good luck!
Kynlee: are you administering it? It's not bad. I had to do it once while my hubby way away and I watched a you tube video on how to give yourself a progesterone shot in the butt. The needle looks much worse that it feels!
I'm feeling sluggish today but not as dizzy and the headaches have subsided. I go in tomorrow to check follicles. I'm nervous!
Blue eyed dreamer: the flare cycle is faster than I've done in the past, probably because of my age. It's only a 2 1/2 week process. I'm on Follistim, Lupron, Menopur and Omnitrope. I don't know what the antagonist protocol is??
tortillachip- The 9th will be here before you know it
AFM- did the shot and unless i gave it wrong the ELMA cream was a god sent cause I did not feel a thing Sure ill be sore tomorrow will see But the worse part is over I am over the fair of it hurting lol Anyone that has to do these shots try the elma cream its miracle in a bottle and I laid down a=for DH to do it so I dont know if that helped too
Tortillachip- the antagonist is a non lupron cycle. Lupron is an agonist and ganrilex/cetrotide are antagonists.

Hi Ladies, thanks for replying. I am 29 years old. I started my long lupron cycle 3 days ago.
Also, I forgot to mention, I did some blood to test before this cycle with the new clinic and my vitamin D levels were super low. I wanted to do the cycle asap but the doctor put me on vitamin D suplementation, now that the levels are ok, I started.
Have your doctors checked your vitamin D levels? Please make sure you guys are enjoying the sun!

Sorry I have been MIA this week..letting things calm down some more but still nervous about dh's upcoming job interview on July 2nd. If he gets an offer AND we accept this would relocate us to Alabama. I really love it down here in Florida, mortgage could be refinanced but all it all this is where we've been for the last 4 yrs maybe a hurricane would make me want to leave? I know, I know being back in Alabama would put me closer to family but right now I've totally uncertain about the future. All I can say is we need to be sure of our decision and it's going to be a tough one to make- unless they offer some fertilty benefits. lol maybe dh should bring that up in the interview when they asked "Yes what final questions do you have for us sir?" Yes I'm sure that would get him hired if we brought up our fertility treatment! Oh well as least we can find humor among everything.
Welcome back TortillaChip and Pocos! I wish you both much baby dust and less chaois.
Kynlee- So glad the progesterone shot was a breeze, same time tomorrow?
MadameX- I wonder why he wouldn't tell you, could it be the standard way they handle donors? Hang in there because these embies will be coming home soon.

Christy- I know its hard to be uncertain of things such as moving and DH job but everything will be ok, let things fall naturally and go from there dont worry and stress till you know more... Why dont you call BCBS and ask them what Alabama's infertility rates etc,be its better then Florida and you then would want to move etc Same time today for my shot 545 Ill probably get nervous again lol but knowing it didnt hurt Ill be ok I truly believe that cream made all the difference, if you have to do them tell them to prescibe it to you trust me it will be a breeze... I dont know how it will feel in a few days once I start bruising etc but for now I am taking one needle at a time...
Hope everyone enjoys there Beautiful Saturday, its nice and Sunny here
