Dear All

Short but so very very sweet.

JB just texted me. She got a POSITIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YEAH

It was hcg beta of 20 on Day 13 so did not show up on a hpt earlier today. Sounds just like you Anna. Anna - if you read this she would love to know what your 1st hcg reading was. If you let me know then I can text her as she is in the car right now.

She asked me to post here and let you all know.

I am so thrilled for her. 8) 8) 8) 8)

So finally it is the weekend and I have time to read and do a proper catch up

JB - so blimin' happy for you. Hope that you are having an amazing weekend on cloud 9. Sending you major doubling vibes. Sounds like you have a fighter on your hands. I knew it was fate when you had to swap donors and they offered you the proven donor. Just had to be your time hun

Kim - what news for you hun?

Kelly - brave lady jumping on the roller coaster again so soon. Great that you have extra follies this time. Sending the folly fairy your way. Hope that your EC will go well later this week. Hope that work is not too busy for you. Such a juggling act. Hope that your puppy is better now

Rhall - how are you doing babe? The second week is a killer but look at JB - you really cannot tell anything from all the symptoms and really just have to hang in there as best you can. Crossing everything for you. So fab that you have all those frosties too. What stage did they get frozen???

Lucy - glad that everything is sorted for your 1st visit to IM. Hope that you got the dircetions that I sent you. They have come from Jen1d and Gill so thanks due to them

Vicki - hope that you are not doing too badly with all the waiting. With Xmas it should pass quickly. Have they given you any dates as yet?

Jen1d - glad that the op is over for you and they did not find anything like cysts etc that might delay your frozen cycle. It is good that you have the adoption process moving forward too

BigJ - WoooHOooo on jumping on the roller coaster again. 18mm lining last time and 8mm already. That is totally amazing. If you get a moment please can you tell me what the TESE was like and why your dh had to get that done. My dh has to have too as his sperm fragmentation result was very high. Any info would be helpful as he is totally in denial. Good luck babe for this cycle

Gill - good luck for your blood test on Monday. Brave brave lady. Hope that you will be able to fit in the bone marrow with your next cycle ok. Hope that you have a nice weekend lined up

Anna - two teeth and a pumpkin outfit. So cute  Thanks for the info re-your result. I texted it to JB straight away. Also told her that it is the doubling that really matters rather than the absolute number. They will take bloods again from her on Monday to ensure that it is rising. Let her know how happy all the board ladies were for her!

Andrea - tough decisions. Mine decision to move to donor is/was not clear cut either - I have low FSH (5) and produce loads of eggs (23 last cycle) but they all seem to be poor quality and we now have male facor too. I think that it is good to start getting your heads around DE sooner rather than later. I was thinking that was where we would end up from around about cycle 3 and certainly through cycle 4. I read a lot and researched a lot of clinics too. It helped me to start getting my head around it as there is so much to think about/consider. Will you tell the child? What info can you get for the child? What about risk of siblings? Etc etc There is loads of stuff about this at the very start of this thread if you are interested. It also helped me adapt faster when the last cycle failed despite so many eggs and the best (in terms of % success) clinic in the UK. So in short I think that thinking about it now and giving your own eggs a final roll of the dice is a good way to handle the tranistion. You do need to grieve for your own child but then you quickly become very happy that you have another chance but you do need to know that you have given it your best shot with your own eggs first. Hope that this helps :?

Sonia - Work. What a juggling act. I had to push back my last cycle as was travelling to Dubai and Germany but that seems a life time ago now. Sounds like you have a busy but exciting job. At the end of the day guess we all have to figure what is most importnat for us. I shall just walk out next week if I get the call to go to sunny Spain and they will just have to manage. Hope that you can figure a way through the travel and the appointments. You can always 'attend' meetings via video/telephone conference. Not ideal but a way around it maybe????

Hugs to everyone else.

Pleased it is the weekend. Hope that you all have a good one planned. So scan went well. Thanks for the sparkles lady and passing on my news!!! Lining is 8mm after 8 days on patches. No signs of any cysts and no signs of any follicles either. YIPPEEE. Got ARGC to write out my pregnancy test. Bad as cost £40 but means that I can get the result in 3 hours on test day. Never was a patient person. So I mailed IM with the info. But no response so guess now I will not hear until Monday at the earliest. I am quite chilled as feel very ok on the patches. I am pretty much packed. I have a list of things to do when the call/e-mail comes through. Work is always going to be a juggling act whenever we get the call. I think that it will be the back end of next week. But what do I know. More important that they get the donor right than worry about me.

Have a great weekend all . Off to get my hair cut & nails done pre-Spain and we are out for dinner with friends tonight. Means that I can indulge in X Factor and Dancing tomorrow! Although hope that the Dancing yields a more sensible result than last week.

Lots of Love to you all.

Holy cow there is so much going on in this forum I can't keep track!

CarolynB, good luck getting ready for you big trip!
Kelly, good luck on the EC!
Jen1d, best of luck on your adoption appointment!
Andrea, hang in there. It's definetely not an easy decision. I really didn't have an option as my eggs just don't mature for some crazy reason. DE is the only option for us. You just need some time.
Hello and best of luck to everyone else out there!

We had tropical storm Noel pass through here today, so I spent some quality time laying on the couch with my pug. Nothing like napping during a storm! My cramping has pretty much gone away today which makes me nervous since it's been with me for the past 4 days. I just hope it's not a bad sign, but I just need to stop obsessing. Just wish it was the 8th so I knew either way. Oh well, just need to keep eating my pineapple and thinking happy thoughts! Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Jenbabes... WOW! Congratulations! All that effort paid off! Sooooo happy for you!

Andrea, told you I was here! How's the decision making going? Everyone gives very good advice. We've all been there in one way or another. I agree with Carolyn about knowing that you gave it your best shot.

Carolyn, good news on lining!

KellyM, hoping that your puppy is better. What did you find out? P.S. Follie news sounds good.

I know I missed many of you, but I have not forgotten about you.
I've been reading the posts and keeping updated. I have not posted myself in a while, I've been in limbo. Just waiting for my next cycle to begin at the end of November/begining of Dec. Not using DE, but want to do as many have suggested... begin wraping my mind around it and learn as much as I can. All of you have really been helping me to understand everything so much better. It has really helped me. My DH is onboard with the idea of DE, it took him a little while. It feels good to know that the option is there and it's helpful to know all of you and learn about your experiences. I appreciate you and know that you are all here for me, so thanks. Enjoy the rest of the weekend, chriss

Jenbabes its fantastic news, thanks for updating my appointment date. The hotel you stayed in sounds really nice. How many days did you stay there for, once you had your ET.

Carolyn thanks for sending the directions this will really help. (thanks to Jen1d and Gill also)

Glade your scan went really well. Not long now and you will be having your ET. Time just seems to fly by at the mo, which is a good thing.

Rhall hang in there not long now and you we have a BFP :D

Jen1d Glade your op went well and that they did not find anything. Positive side you have 2 more embies left. Am thinking of you and I so hope you have a BFP with your 2 little snow babies waiting.

Hi to everyone else.

Love Lucy xxxxx

Jen - fantastic new well done for your BFP enjoy it :D

Carolyn - dh has to have TESE also because of sperm fragmentation, thought to be cause by the high level of antibodies (which were caused by the vasectomy reversed 10 years after it was done).

Dh is a complete hero, this will be the third time he has gone through it, first in germany for the tests, then we couldnt take the biopsies to the Ukraine so he had it done again there, and then now again at my insistance as I want the sample as fresh as possible. In ISIDA they give hima light general plus a local (like att he dentist) so he was walking round Kiev the next day,a bit tender but fine. They just take a micro biopsy.

hope that helps.

getting packed now, just sroted out a little "toy" bag for Joshi. We have booked hima seat so we'll be comfortable, flying Ukrainian airlines direct Hamburg Kiev, so just 2 hours 20 mins (new service, always had to change before so it was a long drag). Target date for donor EC is the 10th, TESE as well, and then embies back in on the 12th if all goes well. (have I written that all b4?? sorry if I am boring you all). We'll be there 8th to 18th so a bit of a winter holiday 8) flat has a jacuzi but as dh pointed out he wont be able to use it after his TESE and after transfer neither will I! Joshi can have luke warm baby bubbles then.

Hi Girls

Chriss- Good for you doing yoga, I too do yoga and swear by it, I find it really helps me especially when I’m feeling a bit down. I do a double session on Friday nights its great, I come home so chilled and always sleep so well.

Gill – That is such an amazing thing to do, well done, good luck with test tomorrow.

Rhall – wow great number, rest up and take care. The waiting is just so hard not long now.

Sonia – Hope you had a great weekend away.

Kelly- Good luck for your next scan, great number of follies well done, hope your puppy is OK.

Andrea – Good luck with decision making it’s a tough one, I found it hard to make my decision, the fact DH and I only have 3 tubes of sperm left swung it for me, otherwise I think I may have had a couple more goes with my eggs.

BigJ – Good luck with treatment, hope you have a good trip and all flights are one time.

JenBabes - FANTASTIC NEWS I’m so so so so happy for you.

Carolyn – great news about lining, look after yourself you will be off to Spain before you know it. I know what you mean about waiting I’m crap and so inpatient when it comes to anything to do with IVF.

Jen1- Sorry to hear your feeling down, good luck with your appointment.

Lucy – your first appointment will be here before you know it.

Love to everyone else.

As for me, I’ll start by apologising for being such a crap poster lately, I promise to be more supportive. I Know its no excuse but things have been so busy lately, plus been feeling peed off.

My trial finished AF took its time to come and brought the most horrendous PMT ever, I’ve been the most miserable bad tempered cow for about 10 days, I was glad when AF arrived and I started to feel normal again. Anyway IVI phoned to say sperm arrived safely, I gave them my results from trial which they were happy with but informed me it may even be March before I get a donor and therefore ET would be April, not great news to get in the middle of raging PMT I can tell you, and to top it off every post I’ve been following on girls at IVI Madrid say they don’t seem to get many eggs and hardly ever freeze. Freezing was something I was counting on especially with my sperm situation. I know there is never any guarantees when it comes to freezing which ever clinic your at, but it left me feeling is this the clinic for me! So DH and I have decided to email Mr Trew my consultant here with our concerns before we make any further decisions. Watch this space the sperms travels may not be over!

Anyway enough of me moaning, take care.

Love to you all
