Hi all! wow, we have a lot that are PUPO! Congrats to you all. So, which of you are going to be addicted to POASing? I can't wait to start, it's an addiction!

Just found out that my donor started her period last night. My nurse will be sending me our schedule in the next few days. I can't wait to get it, I LOVE to know my schedule. I am an organizational freak, however, I rarely stay organized  But, from what I can figure out, it looks like she will be starting her meds the first weekend in Aug, which will equal a mid Aug transfer for me. The nurse says that my donor usually take 14 days or so of stimms.....poor thing, I've never gone that long.

Sticky vibes to all!

Hi Laura,
What is PUPO mean? Yes I'm totally addicted to home pregnancy tests. I usually start them around 8 days past my transfer. 14 days, ouch! August isn't too far off!

Hi ladies

LauraN: ive been about 12 days of stimms both times. Its great your donor is getting organized too :D we will be a few days out from each other :D

Madam x: boredom definately isnt good :( What sort of movies do you like? And how about books? Im sure we could brainstorm some here?

Nicole: because the adoption meetings are with the social worker she is quite ok so far with the ms. Its the overall government doctor who has said no and wants the adoption authority to decide if we can or not. So she will compile the report and if at the end of the eight meeting gs she has proof we are fit to parent she will recommend that. Unfortunately this bloody government doctor is very high up and his opinion carries way too much weight. Are you struggling particularly badly with fatigue at the moment?

Ds: glad all is goi g well

Kynlee: thanks :D Maybe the spasms are implantation? Can you call your re?

Leora: they do look darker. And lol, im not always sick :D Im normally really healthy and if i get anything quickly I kick it gast. I think the second ivf really left me very depleted and run down. I was also the busiest I've ever ben when I was doing it which wont have helped. This time im making sure im not doing too much. No unfortunately im not insulent resistant and just border line pcos - elevated hormonal level but no cyst. Are you going to wait til Thursday for the beta?

Tortilla chip: sayi g prayers x
Pocos: best of luck!!!

Waiting kay: thanks, I'll have a look at that book. That's a won derful fertility report!! Like others, I dont know on the blood thinners but keep phoni g. That bloody secretary has no right to get difficult and its absolutely none of her business. And even if tne doc told you 10 times what is her problem. Please say it to the doc, she is absolutely wrong to treat you like that.

Afm; took a half day and have slept for hours, weirdesrt sensation of feeling all the nerves running up and down my back. Body very tender but mood is good :-) Start down regging on sat week. Nurses to show me how to use menopur on 31st july and I expect stims to start on aug 8. Because im injecting 450ius, it will be two injections - happy days!!

Madame x - I have my fingers crossed for you!!

Tortilla - that's great news! congrats on the 4 embies! How many will you be transferring? That's awesome that you had eggs to freeze! That's really good news. They usually wait until day 6 to see how the eggs are doing before freeze and they only freeze the good ones that they think can make it through a thaw, so usually the quantity goes way down. This is pretty normal, and really good that you had eggs to freeze, that means they are good enough quality to freeze!

Waiting K - congrats on the 19 eggs! Drink lots of gatorade and salt chips! Can't wait to hear your fert report!

Leora - That's an awesome HPT!!!! I'm thinking this is great news!! Congrats!  You are right, the IUI's are way easier, but the success rate is pretty low. Only 10% per IUI. I would recommend that you do no more than 3-4 until moving back to IVF with ds. This is what we ended up doing. I stuck with it for too long and did 8, which was probably a mistake since the ds vials are pretty expensive. I wish you the best of luck with it. I'm here if you want to talk about it...but I have a great feeling that this cycle is going to work for you!

AFM: We retrieved 9 eggs today! same as last time, I'm just really hoping that they are good quality! I will get my fert report tomorrow and have ET on Friday!!

Ninde- you know, I have been more sick over the past year since I started the IVF than every before, even when I weighed over 300 lbs! I swear this stuff can do a number on you. Not major sick, but constant colds, allergies worse, stuff like that which I never really dealt with before, I've always been healthy as a horse. And, in reference to your struggle with weight loss. I TOTALLY feel your pain on that one. I think I posted a long time ago my story, but the short end of it, was around 2 years ago, at my highest weight, I weighed 324 lbs. We had tried starting IVF like 4 years ago and I think I was at 280 or something back then. They told me they wouldn't do it on me until I lost some weight. Well, obviously when someone tells me to lose weight, I do the opposite. My body revolted and I just kept gaining. So, two years ago on Aug 23rd, I had a gastric sleeve and had about 85-90% of my stomach removed. I've gotten down as low as 182, right before my first cycle, but right now I hang around 190. I am 5'6. Anyways, I wish you the best and just know that you are PERFECT just the way you are, just at the weight you are at now. You may want to be a different weight, but please don't let anyone tell you that you aren't great just the way you are. The only thing that worked for me, right before my surgery, was to drink 2 protein shakes per day, then one meal with no carbs. I had to do that for the 2 weeks before the surgery. I made cabbage veggie soup and would eat that throughout the day when I got hungry. I believe I lost 10 -12 lbs in those 2 weeks before. If you decide you are interested in trying protein shakes, let me know and I can walk you through what to look for in a shake, because there are some out there that won't help you.

Kay, each doc seems to have their own preference for use of thinners. You should be fine either way. If he wants you to wait til transfer fine, but you aren't going to hurt anything by starting them prior to transfer. You stop during retrieval to lessen the risk of bleeding. The whole purpose of the thinners is to make sure the aps doesn't make you fail to implant or mc. Im to take them starting after retrieval. For now I just do aspirin. I've been on lovenox before.

Leora, your sticks are def darker. Do those ever get very dark? Which site do you order from?

Tortilla, congrats on transferring 4 embies.

Ninde, yes I am battling the fatigue now. This week is busy too. I saw the cardiologist today, have my 3 hr MRI tomorrow along with vet appt for my dog, thurs we see the RE and I'm working the nursing home, Friday I have physical therapy. The sun in shining and it is pretty warm. That zaps me good.

MadameX - I'm also going to the mall today with a friend to spend money neither of us have :D But it's free air conditioning -- so think of it that way! We also had a bunch growing on day 5 but none to freeze... in a way it's a good thing. No use wasting FET time with embryos that aren't likely to be babies... but congrats on having 3 to freeze!

Kay - no idea about the blood thinners -- maybe Maria knows? I know on BabyCenter Community there is a big group of women on blood thinners (lovenox mostly) - maybe they can help? I would take it - what could the harm be? I see more harm in needing to take it and not taking it than taking it when you didn't need to.

Chris - how are you doing? Have you started the Estrace yet?

Kynlee - one day closer! :D Not tempted to POAS yet?

Tia - hurray! Enjoy your bed rest! We watched "American Reunion" recently - it was stupid but a nice distraction (thank goodness, no pregnancies in it at all!) - btw, I'm in Jerusalem Israel - but I'm coming to visit NYC and Pittsburgh PA (where I grew up and my mom still lives) in August! --- PUPO = "pregnant until proven otherwise" :D

LauraN - hurray that the donor got AF! That's exciting! You can never know exactly how many days stim will be... good luck! Just remember, you have to try to let go of the things you can't control. --- that weight loss is amazing! I'm at my heaviest now, which is 96 kg (which my calculator says is 211.5 lbs) - so I can't qualify for any weight loss surgery. I'm stuck on my insulin resistant) own! I'm not working really hard now (30 min on the treadmill 6 days a week and moderately watching what I eat) - the goal for now is not to gain more!

Patricia - I know you aren't always sick - but these past few months have been rough on you! First that cold that wouldn't go away - then Foot & Mouth? That's nuts! I don't have any cysts either, but the diagnosis of PCO doesn't need to have cysts. I have every other symptom/sign - but no cysts, but my doctors still say it's PCO!

Menopur is in vials of 75miu and you can only mix 3 together - so yup - you'll need 6 vials = 2 injections. It's not so bad, just annoying!

Tiger - also, we've been told that IUIs will probably have a higher chance of multiples (since we don't want to cancel the IUI if there are more than 2 follicles - that's nuts!). I think we are stuck with the IVF... I've tried asking our RE if donor sperm would improve our IVF (We have to do ICSI - DH's sperm count is usually between 15-20 (not million, just 15-20 swimmers!) - so I wonder if because we don't have much sperm to choose from, if donor sperm would help us get better embryos)

Nicole - I have to get them shipped internationally, so I buy in eBay, there is a great "store" of fertility testing stuff in the UK. I get 50 sticks for about $25 total. Cheap enough!

Lori - there is a magic balance - stimming fast enough but not too fast. Try not to worry about how fast you are stimming - sounds good to me! Good luck tomorrow!

AFM - Anna peer pressured me into doing a beta today instead of tomorrow. So I went to get blood drawn this morning.

Remember how on Sunday it took forever to get results because my blood was sent to a different city? I asked about that today.

Used to be that the blood tests and the lab were in the same building. The lab techs would come and get the blood pretty regularly. I would get results of a 7am blood test around 9-10am. That was amazing.

Then they moved the u/s clinic (and the blood tests for hormones) to a building down the block. Instead of walking around to get the samples, they would wait until blood tests were over at 9:45am and then bring all the samples to the lab. I started getting results at noon, which was okay, but not great.

Turns out that on Sunday, the machine in Jerusalem broke, so since then, they've had to send the blood to Lod (about an 1.5 hour drive away - the main lab in the country). I get results around 5pm. That sucks. I can't imagine doing a cycle and only getting blood results at 5pm!

I asked when they plan on fixing the machine in Jerusalem and was told they weren't going to fix it! Just going to keep sending the blood to Lod. WTF? I was pretty pissed - and the techs knew that everyone would be. They had a stack of "customer satisfaction" cards to fill out  So I filled out two and hopefully that'll help! (There is a lot of competition between the 4 different health care providers -- the government promises health care to everyone, but there are 4 different companies you can go to. There is fierce competition among those companies to get as many people as possible, since they get paid by the government per patient -- so I threatened a LOT to move to a different health care company! -- which I might do, but there is usually a 3 month waiting period for "big" procedures, including IVF. Maybe if I talk to them and say I'll switch but don't want to wait for my IVF....)

soo..... results later today. We'll see. I want about 200.

If my beta doubles today, I'll ask for an u/s early next week (5w2/3d - Sun or Mon) to see what's going on. (too early for hb, but hopefully can see a gestational sac)

pee stick was as dark as Monday, but not visibly darker...

I don't know what to think!
