Rio and DH - Congrats! Looks like you ended up stimming just fine. :D Those 4 embies sound great. Keeping my fingers crossed for you and all the others for lots of BFPs. I still continue to read up on you all everyday...just haven't had much to say since I am so far behind. I start my lupron Monday though...6 days and counting to round 2.

Man I'm tired

Post by kbear4211 »

I am at work and I feel like crawling under my desk and taking a nap. My two spots for the PIO shots are very sore. My right buttox/hip area is a little swollen. Not that I am complaining, believe me, I am very grateful for this opportunity and am hoping for a BFP on 02/04.

SUGA: I am also nauseous, but did not have OHSS. I guess it could all be the progesterone side effects. I looked at the link and yes the list of side effects is quite lengthy. It is hard not to think it is a good sign.

How are everyone else in the 2WW doing?

Hello all well IM alive. Just took it easy yesterday. Im doing a 5 day transfer so that will be on thursday. I am still really bloated and achy but its gone down a tad since saturday. They keep telling me that its ok as long as I am peeing and as long as I dont feel like I cant catch my breath. Im glad to hear that others are having similar pain---I dont wish it on anyone but it makes me feel normal. I hope everyone is doing good!! I has 23 eggs at ER and 15 fertilized so maybe the OHSS thing is more common with lots of follies/eggs. It sucks now but will be worth it in the end. I cant even button my "fat pants" lol.

Hi all!!!!
thanks for the good vibes-
I went up to NYC yesterday to see some art - it was the 1st time I've left the house for the whole day since I started my cycle. It was great but very chilly, and on the way back, I had to do my shots (3 of them) in a NJ Turnpike bathroom!!!
Had more BW/ US this morning- estradiol is up to 975, and still a bunch of follies- some measure 17, and others are still sort of lolly-gagging along at 11, so I will probably not trigger until the 24th( and maybe even the 25th) -which means ER not before Saturday 26th so Tammy- looks like you're out in front now!!
and Rinnie, too!!
rio- you're dh really is a dh!!! letting us ladies know what's going on with you- marvelous - and rest!!!!
and as for the rest of you ladies- stay strong, stay off the caffeine (grrrrr), and think sticky!!!

soo excited

best to all

Loopie- glad you got out. The Turnpike?! LOL! I guess its as good a place as any other. You are a brave soul.
Katie- I'm glad you are resting. Take care of yourself.
CornBaby- Keep positive. Your time will be here before you know it.

Me- I jus got a call from my nurse and my E2 after 3 days of stimming is 613. You know being a curious george I had to ask if it was good. And she couldn't really tell because they didn't do an u/s. She said for someone with alot of follies they would want a higher number and for someone with less, a lower number. Talk about skirting the question. But, I let it slide since I didn't have an u/s and I am busy packing. This is really beginning to suck. Having to plan the move and the cycle. ALONE. Which leads me to a question for those of you who have done ER and/or are close to ET. After ER, do you think you could have been alone? And gone to ET alone? I don't know if I should have my mother come stay with me for ET (I'm worried she would drive me NUTS. She's not to hip about this whole thing). Or should I just get someone to walk my dog and take care of myself? I have until next week to decide, I've just got so much on my plate, having this taken care of would ease the stress.

hi weezie!
for the ER, you will definitely need someone to help you home from the hospital - and I would recommend someone be with you for a little while to make sure you really do take it easy. As for the ET, I think it's fine to go solo ( I will probably do that as dh has had to take a lot of time off from work already) and then go home, put your feet up - and do not lift or pack the rest of that day, either!!
You've gone through a lot to get to this point, be sure you take good care of yourself and know you've done everything you can to ensure a healthy BFP!!!

take care

TammyS – great news on the follies! Good job! My RE didn’t need s super full bladder, they just don’t want you to have an empty one, I “voided” one hour before and then had a medium glass of water, laid there for 45 min then went to the restroom. You will make it fine  oh and no coughing orsneezing in those 45 mins!
Suga – how are you feeling?
Kbear and hopin – how many embies did you transfer?
Rinnie- great news! Great folies! 1/25
21bat – good luck onyour u/s
Mia – how are you?
Corny – thanks for keeping up with all of us and I am praying for you
Loopie-good job on the follies – awesome news!
Weezie – it would be a good idea to have your mom, you really should take it easy and let someone take care of you. You are not supposed to drive after anesthesia anyway. I am realy sorry you have all this going on.

ME DH has been wonderful and I am getting tons of rest since my left side is still swollen but getting better. My butt is really sore on the spots from the PIO. The shots themselves don’t hurt but after – ouch! I am using a heating pad and when I have to go back to work I might do two nights on one cheek then two nights the other so I can sit on one of them! I started the Climara patch and the estrogen gel also. I get one more day off and go back to work on Thursday. Our RE was great and talked to us at length about how many to transfer and we took a leap transfering 4, Thank you for the sticky vibes!!!

TammyS and loopie - you are next! Good luck!

Hey Girls!!

Rio: 4 Wow!! So nice of dh to update us :) He's a keeper. Let him spoil you some more :)
Weezie: I think you will be fine for the ET w/o dh. Just don't pack anything for two days. I know it is stressful moving and the cycle. But remember, you have invested lots emotionally and financially so your number one priority is YOU right now. Wy doesn't your clinic u/s on 3rd day?/ When will you go in for u/s?

loopie: Glad you got out :) And way to go on those shots!! You rock. YOur numbers sound good. And I hear you on the Grr about no caffiene. I was tempted to get a coke, just as I read that, so thanks for saving me in a weak moment
Katie: Sorry you are still bloated, how sucky, but at least you are normal :) 15 wow, that's a big number.

Kbear; sorry the shots are hurting so much :( Not looking forward to that. Hopefully it will numb up after awhile

Corny: Monday will be here before you know it!

Lostgirl: Congrats on the BFP!!

21bat: Can't wait to hear about your u/s tomorrow! You will need Lupron until the HcG shot.

Rinnie:Yup, stay positive. And think of every twinge and cough as a step toward your goal :)

Well I had my u/s today. Nurse sent me this:
You have 3 follicles <10 and 1 follicle at 11 on the right and 3 <10 and 2 at 11 on the left. Your estradiol level today is 164. Dr. A wants you to increase you dose to 325 and come back on Friday instead of Thursday. I already changed you on the schedule. Let me know if you have any questions.

Ok, so 164 seems really low for that many follies? ANy one know why that might be??

Just a curios question more than anything... I have been reading up on day 3 vs day 5 transfers. I hear that day 5 are better but my clinic does mostly day 3 transfers. They say it is because they are just as likely to last in the uterus as they are in the test tube? But I hear they are better in the tube? Who knows. I hear results are better with day 5. Anyone know anything about this? I mean do I still have chances with a day 3?

The are arguments on both sides. Day 3 is perfectly fine. Lots of times RE's will go to day 5 if there are a larger amt of embies. From what I understand the chances are the same.

Ah, interesting. I think there are higher multiple rates with day 3? Who knows. This is all just so new to me and I wish I found this site before starting IVF because you ladies are great...ok now, seriously, I need to get off here and go do my homework! lol

MIA: No idea, but I am sure it is fine. It is really early in the follie growing game for you. So try not to worry any. Things change really fast.

Rio: Wow 4!!! Your Dh is so sweet. He is a keeper. I am looking at ER as 25th or 26th, now. I have an u/s and b/w tomorrow. I will know tomorrow at 2pm for sure. Thanks for the bladder being full story. It does make me feel a little better. What is you Dh's recipe for the pineapple smoothie? Sounds yummy.

Loopie: The turnpike? LOL You take the prize so far for the most unusual place. Love it. So I guess you and I were both a little off from our original thoughts of when ER would be. Looks like Rinnie and me on Friday and then you on Sat. For now. LOL

Weezie: You did say DH would be there for ER....so that is good. As for ET ....dont do any packing for 3 days after and just stay in bed and do nothing at all. No lifting over 10 lbs no matter what. I would also get a dog walker. Other than that....you said you would have meals ready...so just heat and eat and sleep. Plan to take it easy. Get as much packing done now as you can. 613 is great so far. If you want to compare....after 3 days of stimming...mine was 119. I now have 14 follicles and I havent changed my meds at all. That is not to say that you have more than 14 at this early stage ....it just means that you will probably stim better than I have. I got 14 after 9 days. Hope that helps. So dont worry...it is really early, yet.

Katie: Are you working right now? Just throw on the sweats and kick back. LOL Good Luck Thursday. You are gonna do great.

Kbear: Hope the nausea gets better and the shots too. I cant wait till Feb 4th. I put it on my calender.

Lostgirl: Glad to hear you are feeling good. Congrats again.

21Bat: I was reading up about the PIO shot. I think the reason the girl took so long is because you can get smaller needles to do the shot with...the only downfall is that it takes longer to inject the very thick meds through the needle.

Rinnie: How is the cough? Get better soon. You may be the leader between you, Loopie and I. LOL Your u/s is tomorrow like mine, right? Let us know how it goes.

Corny: Good to see you. I hope the time goes by quickly for you.

Hi all

Thanks for all your AF wishes. Guess who arrived today?! So, I go in for my baseline on Friday AM and start stims Saturday I think. I guess this is step #2. It is so great to be able to follow everyone else's progress through this step by step. Imagine the days before the internet when everyone doing IVF was on their own with no support like this!

We are lucky to have this.

Good luck to everyone. Can't wait to hear more BFPs!
