Hello all!

Finally, I can announce the birth of Lottie (middle name still under discussion), born 6lb 10 oz, on Friday 30th Jan. (Just about qualified for the Jan message board!)

Due on the 17th, she just wasn't ready to make her appearance, despite 3 false labours and 2 sweeps over 3 weeks. Finally, she was induced, on Thurs lunch time, went straight into labour with contractions at 1.5 minutes, lasting nearly 1.5 minutes each, for 21 hours, so not much time off for good behaviour. Labour's such a joy, isn't it? During that period, threw up almost immediately, waters broke naturally, moved progressively though gas and air to dimorphine (a truly wonderful drug!), finally an epidural. Birth plan went out the window. Epidural wore off near the end, but it was too high up my body to top up, so I went through the last bit with not a lot of help, though at least I could kneel up. Massive tear, and lots of piles came out - still rather sore, especially as I have a cough. Am completely exhausted now.

But isn't it worth it?!

Congrats Denise on your bundle of joy.

Will catch up more when I have time, though you all know how precious that is!

Whew... sounds like a quite an experience. Glad to hear you are at home and recovering though, and with what you brought home, still worth it, I bet.

Some of us just can't catch a break. Starting to catch my breath a bit now, but Ivy is a month old now, so we're starting to get in the swing of things.

Let us know when you decide on a middle name. Lottie's very charming though, named after anyone?

Congrats Tinnots! I hope you're making a good recovery and Lotty is doing well.

Little Matthew is growing so fast. He wears 3-6 months clothing (big baby) and is so adorable. He has a new facial expression every day and loves the sound of his own voice. I feel so blessed. I'm sad to return to work on Sunday but I have to remember that I'm fortunate enough to only work 2 days a week. I just can't believe he is 2 months old already. Time flies!
