Transfer Day Question

Post by kate65 »

Hi, all. Do you mind if I crash in with an odd question? I just had my transfer today and I've been having a thin clear discharge (like water) over the last few hours. Is this the fluid the embryos were in? If it is, how do they keep the embryos from flowing right out with it?

You can see I have too much time to think today, huh?

Hello Ladies

I hope that everyone is doing good I have been lurking around the board and reading up on everyone and I am glad that everyone is doing good and I am just really scared about the FET coming up in March and about what if it doesnt work and was it just meant for me not to have anymore children I guess I am just going crazy right now and I am just so tired of everyone saying that it didnt happen this time for a reason people just dont understand and I see these people that are pregnant that dont take care of there selves and I wonder what have I done to be punished like this well anyway I have vented enough sry for being a bummer

DNT: thanks for the advice. it's allready out. i just got out of bed. still in pain, but better then yesterday. i won't type much since i need to lay down. wish i had a laptop, that would be nice about now :) I checked with my clinic and they said going under would not interrupt, but trying to find a dentist to put me under was 3 months out and not an option

Ladyj: thank you also for your kind words. i'm glad though by now the worst is over. it all happened so fast from my first dentist appt to tooth extraction which was the next day, well the extraction seemed like it took forever. it took about an hour. my hubby was in the room and was rubbing my legg to comfort me. i am so much better to day, but yesterday was awful, but you knkow on the good side it really distracted me from all this :) my first dentist appt i didn't leave till almost 6pm and my ivf clinic was closed and they squeezed me in the next day to get my tooth pulled so i tried to get ahold of my clinic to check if i can go under and they said it wouldn't affect my cycle. so i tried to call dentists that could put me under, but all were several months out which was not an option we are hopeing for a BFP. so i had to suck it up and do it and now i'm really glad i did. yesterday i wasn't, but i'm still alive through the pain from yesterday so i feel much, much better. i still can't talk cause the doc shaved some bone and cut the muscle. so i can't talk yet, but i'm so happy the worst is over.

prayin4bfp: i thought i heard on here that OHSS is a good thing as long as you barely make it through to ER. i heard it means your body wants to get prego. just keep praying and relax. i've also heard lots of water and protein. i'm praying for you too

Thank you to everyone i missed for the good wishes. i'm hurting more so i need to go lay down. i'm sending lots of baby dust to you all!!! stay positive and relaxed as much as you can ladies!!!

oh and jennlb25: i'm happy to hear about your follies that is so awesome how many divided

Okay, I just got my call, and I am worried and hoping for some input.

They got 28 eggs, and out of those 18 were mature. They fertilized all of them, but said due to egg quality and sperm quality 10 did not fertilize, and only 6 are growing. They were not able to give me any grades of the eggs that are growing, which upsets me. Is 6 a really bad number of fertilized eggs, and should I be worried. They say they will call tomorrow, and tell me if a 3 day transfer is likely and schedule it anyways, and also tell me if I may be doing a 5 day transfer. I am panicking here, because I truly thought we would have a lot more fertilized. Help here please. Any advise would be appreciated.

Molly- keep in mind everyone is different, but 6 growing is still good. I only had 8 fertilize on ER day, and only 4 to choose from on day 3. We put 2 in and got one beautiful daughter from it, so yes, it is a numbers game, but it has happened with less. I think the grade and quality will tell you a lot come transfer day.

Sorry I haven't posted much guys, I have been so busy, and I haven't had much to report, but I have been reading. I am glad everyone is progressing so nicely. I go this week for the sonohyst and office hyst and expect those to be fine since they were last time. I will update after those, I hope the snowstorm we might get this week won't affect my appts.

I don't have time to catch up right now. Will try to do that later when I am supposed to be doing my homework.

Molly - So many times I have seen ladies get lots of eggs and then only have a handful fertilize and grow. So please don't worry. You have 6 good quality eggs that have fertilized and are growing. I know it is a let down seeing that you started with so many but it only takes one. Keep us posted.

As for me, Re removed a fibroid yesterday that was the size of a peanut. He said that it shouldn't have been causing me any problems with getting PG but just wanted to get it out of there. So that is done and I start stims last night. YEY!!!! So now I am taking 150u follistim and 75u menopure. I go back on Tuesday for u/s and b/w.

Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Oh Chris we are so sharing this cycle together (once again). Time sure does fly especially when we are too busy counting down. Once we start stims our days just go by. I am now on Day 8 of stims (day 9 if you actually count that first day). Wish you the best of luck!!!

Wow lots going on around here!

I had my u/s today and all is a go. I trigger tonight at 9:30. I am sooooo ready to get these things outa me! I go Mon @ 7am for ER.
They said that I have 11 follies over the size of 10 which is good. There are several more in there but they are small so probly won't amount to much.

Things on here are starting to move from stimming status to 2ww!!!!
HOW EXCITING :!: :!:

I have been praying for new life. For some reason that is all that has been on my mind lately. God is the creator of life. He gives and takes away. No matter how much these Drs can do it is up to God whether life begins or ends. When I go in for my ER I am going to think of NEW LIFE being created that day. My it thrive in leaps and bounds!!

My prayer is that all of us are blessed with NEW LIFE!! A new beginning.

Update on my u/s from this morning. I will continue coming in for b/w and u/s daily until I pretty much trigger. After being on stims since 01/23 I am now producing follies. Since yesterday I think I now have 3 more follies (9-10 follies in total). I don't like knowing the size of my follies because I don't want to think so much about it especially since I am a slow responder. I am getting closer =]

Hey ladies!! Wow we have a lot of great things going on right now!!

Well, I took more medicine than I was suppose to last night but the RE wasn't worried. My u/s was really good today ( I think  ). My right ovary had 15,15,14.5,14.5,13,12,12 and several more under 10. My left ovary had 12.5,11.5 and several others under 10. I go back again tomorrow. RE says I could trigger Monday or Tuesday for ER on Tuesday or Wednesday!! If things really go crazy tonight I could possibly trigger tomorrow for Monday ER! WOW its amazing what a day can make!

If my dh finds me on this computer instead of geting ready to go he will have my neck!! I'll check back in later. Baby Dust to you all!!!!!!!

Things are hopping around here! So many ER's and ET's coming up! Good luck everyone!

So, today I took another HPT because I started having all these different pains at work. These pains aren't like my AF cramps...I actually don't get symptoms before AF, usually only on the 2nd day she's here. But they were cramps and such so I got scared and came home and took one. Well ladies, the second line was definitely there today, not really too faint at all. Is it too early for that? Would the trigger still show up? Tomorrow will be 2 weeks since I took trigger.

I'm really getting my hopes us, and trying to bring them down. I don't want it to be a chemical showing up on the HPT's!

Also, my butt is so dang sore today on the side I had my shot last night. However, the pain is several inches below where my shot was given. It's a pain in my muscle, too. Has anyone had this? It's too tender to rub, so I've got the heating pad on low hoping it goes away!

mandeekins - well girlfriend sounds like your a BFP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
I think after 10 days the HCG is out of your system. I think cramping is a good sign too!

kcraven- Your follies sound great! I don't think I had that many the same size. I think that is a really good thing when they grow together. Won't you be glad for ER?! That extra boost of stims probly did you good! Is your trigger shot in the belly or intramuscular?
Mine says intramuscular but the RE said I could take it in my belly.

Rosario - Slow is not always a bad thing. Just as long as they are growing!
Don't be discourged. I'm sure all will go well. 10 is a real good #!!

WoW so much stuff is going on here it is hard to keep up. So I am going to try and do the 2 windows open and review the posts and hopefully get to most everyone.

First of all--
mandeekins - CONGRATS on being KNOCKED UP!!! I would believe that yoru trigger is out of your system by know and if you are still getting a positive then i truly believe you are PG. Keep on peeing and seeing those 2 double lines. Just don't freak out with the lightness and darkness of the lines. From what I have read that each test even with the same brand the line can be lighter or darker and it doesn't really go by how much HCG you have in your system. Keep us posed on your peeing expeditions.

Molly - How are u doing? Any new reports on your embies? When will you be doing your transfer?

JennLb25 - Once again congrats on all your embies. Good luck with your transfer tomorrow.

DNT - You beta numbers are wonderful. I am so happy for you. Can't wait for your u/s.

BarbD - Good luck on your FET tomorrow. How many embies are they going to transfer? The PIO shots are the worst. i think they need to be outlawed. Though the other option is the suppositories and i don't know if I would really want to do those. I know they are easier then the PIO but having all that gunk up there just doesn't sound pleasing.

prayin4BFP - Your OHSS doesn't sound like fun at all. Sorry you will probably have to do a FET. I know it is a let down but you really don't want to put your embies back now and increase your E2 levels more then they already are. Good luck at ER.

Lady_J - You needle lover. How is the Lupron going? How many units are you taking. I know when i took 20u lupron on got the famous lupron headaches but when i only took 10u i didn't get any headaches. 2 more weeks and you will be stimming away. Glad to see you got your computer back on line.

Rosario - Yep we are back at this again together. We have been at this way too long and it is our time for a BFP. Glad to see that more follicles are popping up. Just think stimming slow and steady. You will get some good quality eggs. Thats a bummer you have to go to the RE everday. i am already sick of going there and I haven't even started my stims checks. Plus, the guys at work are now questioning why I have so many appointments. I haven't told anyone at work what i am doing.

waiting for 4 - Congrats on your 15 eggs. I wish I could get that many. Keep us posted on your fert report.

Kate65 - Welcome to the board. I think i might remember you from back in June. Sorry don't have any info on the clear discharge. I guess it could be from Et. Don't worry about your embies. They can't fall out.

kcraven - I would also have been freaking out if I messed up my meds. Glad to see it was no big deal. Seems like you have some good follies growing. You should get some really good eggs. Good luck.

espinozal23 - You are not crazy to doubt if your FET will work. I think we all think this way after we have had a failed cycle. No one can tell the future so we just have to keep trying. I think about this cycle all the time. I so want it to work but I have seen so many ladies that go on to have 3, 4, 5 cycles before they get PG. It is really hard to keep up PMA. You can do it, just take it one day at a time.

CAFirstInvitro - Your surgery does not sound like fun at all. i think I would rather go through a dozen HSG's then have a tooth extraction. Believe me the HSG has been the worst thing I have had to go through in all the infertility process.

CT_Michele - How are you doing? Good luck at your sono this week.

tburks - Congrats on getting to trigger and Good Luck at ER. I like your notion of a 'New Life". Keep thinking that and you will get your BFP.

So i think I have gotten most everyone that has posted since Friday. Sorry if I have missed anyone. As for me, just sitting back praying for my little follies to grow. Seems like I am taking tons of drugs and I also have a cold which really sucks. Hoping the antibiotic that I have to take for this cycle will kill out my cold. I figure the antibiotic has to be good for something. Hope everyone has had a good weekend. I have to get some homework done so then i can be stressfree for the Super Bowl tonight.

Hi, Chris. Yes, I was here in June. I'm so sorry to see all the false starts you've had. Canceled cycles are the worst, aren't they? I'll be sending good thoughts your way for this one!

Transferred 3 embryos on Friday, all in good shape according to the RE. Now every sneeze has me nervous. I'm not really sure what to do -- or not do -- to improve the odds of a good cycle during this stage (read a lot about what to do when the follicles were growing, though).

If anyone has any advice for keeping the embryos in there and thriving, please post it!
