Karin, so glad you and your boys are okay. How scary. I guess this having twins stuff is a bit more of a handful than we even knew isn't it. :) You take it easy. I've been doing the same for awhile now, it gets old, but is so very worth it. Does this mean no trip for you?

Ryann: So glad to hear that you are gaining weight and that those two little ones are moving around great! Hope that you get to “see” them soon.

Annashope: Glad that everything is going smoothly. So sorry to hear about DS. :( Poor guy. That sounds dreadfully painful.

Lou: Yeay! Glad all went well with NT and you have made it past your “difficult period” of worry. Now, relax and enjoy your pregnancy!

Stephanie: Thank you! And, yes, I will have everything crossed that your results come back fine today. Be careful with not overdoing it….glad you threw in the towel and took time to rest and hydrate.

Leora: Sorry that you are coming down with a bug. :( Drink lots of fluids and take care of yourself…yuck…

Barbara: Awesome picture! :D Thanks for sharing.

Kjm: Sorry about the headaches. Sounds miserable. I wish I had some good advice there…

Sonya: Thanks! And how amazing to be able to discern body parts on your little guy. So fabulous!

Ashley: I think it is common to over-extend ourselves. Many of us here are overachievers that just keep going!! But, we have to know when it is best for ourselves and our little beans to slow down. I know that I am coming to grips with that right now. I hope that your instructor was understanding and upped your grade.

Karin: Oh, Karin, what a scare! I am so glad that you and the boys are ok. PLEASE do rest every minute you can….no apologies for lack of personals. Your care is the most important thing. Take care of yourself….bedrest is no fun, but try to find things to occupy your mind. My thoughts are with you.

AFM: A bit of a scare of my own. Last night I was vomiting pretty fiercely (and for the first time since pregnant). Sorry for the TMI--but you ladies understand--As I was getting up I could feel something in my underwear and was very frightened to see some clots. I called DH who called our OB (since my RE is in California) and I was, as you can imagine, quite tearful. He asked about the color, and (thankfully) the clots, although fairly large in size, were brownish red and not bright red at all. He said because I wasn't having any continued cramping or bright red flow I would be ok to wait until morning to see him. We hung up and then about 20 minutes later he called us back to check on me. He said we could go to the hospital if I wanted, but he felt fairly certain that all was well.

So...a long night later we were in his office--nervous wrecks waiting for the u/s. She took us back and thank god--both babies still looked fine! Strong HBs, cervix fine. WHEW!!! I cried while lying there--tears of relief. The OB thinks it is likely the SCH and said I should expect likely some more since they still see it on u/s. :(

Any of you ladies with experience with SCH please help!! I am trying not to worry, but so much easier said than done. Any advice welcome!!! Leora? Mellow?

I go back next Wednesday--so a week away.

Margi - I'm so sorry! Bleeding is SOOO scary! I actually haven't been diagnosed with a SCH - although there is an 'area of bleeding' in my uterus as per my last u/s. I had a second bleed, but I wasn't scared at all. I just thought "okay, that's the blood that they saw on the u/s". I had a follow up u/s the next day and everything's fine. Oddly, I've lost so 3 babies, but never had any bleeding in those pregnancies - so the bleeding wasn't a scary reminder for me. I'm so glad your babies are still doing great!

Karin - How scary! OMG! Have the doctor's put you on bed rest - or is that your own decision? You should know that sometimes there are risks of bed rest (clots, etc). I would definitely take it easy, but unless your doctors tell you - I would do a 'modified bed rest' thing -- ie, sitting on the couch to watch TV or in front of the computer a few hours a day is fine. 3cm is still a good cervical length - but make sure they keep checking it!

Lou - I'm so happy to hear the NT went well! yay!

Stefanie - have you gotten your 3 hours GTT results back? I hope it's good news! I'm not looking forward to the GTT at all! I'm definitely going to puke if I have to drink that crap! -- can you hire people to pack for you? I moved internationally, and we hired people to come and pack our stuff for us. A few hours and everything we owned was packed into their brand boxes. It was great

Anna - Im' so sorry for your son's broken arm! ouch! But then again - part of being a 10yo boy, no? I remember my brother (2years younger) *always* having something in a cast! Good luck at your L2 scan!

Ryann- my DH is now also sick with the same cold/virus. We are lying in bed with a giant box of tissues. Romantic, no? Congrats on getting over your HG! Some people feel better in the 2nd trimester and others puke until delivery. You should get more u/s now - and more frequently. Make sure they check your cervical length! Shouldn't you have an anatomy scan soon?

Ashley - Im' unemployed right now (laid off in the middle of my IVF cycle) and I'm actually really happy about that. Working/schoolwork is SOOO hard when you are feeling crappy - and pregnancy makes me feel crappy all the time! Try explaining to your prof. Most are pretty understanding. Congrats on having an A average in general though. That's amazing!

AFM - this cold is kicking my butt. Oh well - hopefully just a few more days of misery!

I definitely feel like my tummy is growing. Crazy at only 9 weeks though!

Next u/s is on Sunday and I can't wait! I really hope all is well....

Margi~ YIkes, huh! Isn't that scary. Well with all the gushing and continued flow of clots that I had for 7 weeks straight, I would say, your OB is probably right, and it is just starting to make it's way out. Resting will help, drink plenty of fluids, and NO heavy lifting. Mine finally looked to be gone around 16 weeks. It's possible, since it is so far away from your babies sacs, that it is an actual embryo making it's way out...and it could take awhile. My SCH grew, and was around both sacs, so that was a concern. Bright red is a concern and needs to be looked at right away, but darker colored clots and fluid is old blood, so deep breath, and hold on for the wild ride. Leora had some major bleeding from the sounds of it, but if I remember correctly they didn't find the source, which would drive me crazy...for now go with an SCH that somehow either has to bleed itself out, or it will be reabsorbed. One day at a time. :) I'm so glad your babies look okay, that is the first step in the right direction. Hang in there.

Barbara: I have been exhausted for the past few weeks, taking a 3 hour nap each afternoon. I found out that I was extremely anemic on Monday and have increased my iron intake. I'm actually feeling a little better already. They tested me on the same day as my 1 hour glucose.

Leora: Feel better soon!

Margi : SCH's are more common with pregnancies involving multiples. I had my first episode at 10 weeks and a few more heavy bleeds with some big clots afterwards. My bleeding lasted for 2 months. The clots were really scary as some were large enough to feel like I might be miscarrying (tmi). They seem to get less scary as you kind of start to expect them. Did your doctor give you measurements of the SCH? Definitely rest as much as you can as moving around seemed to make mine worse, also no lifting anything over 5 pounds. Best of luck to you.

Lou: Congratulations on the great NT results.

Karin: Rest, rest, rest!!! My contractions started at 24 weeks with the twins. I was in the hospital but am now home on Procardia. My original dose was 10 mg every 6 hours, now I'm up to 20 mg every 4 hours. If I am even 10 minutes late they start up. I sometimes need to even boost it up to 30 mg when they won't stop.

Anna: Hope you sons arm is feeling better!

Ryann: glad you're feeling better and are gaining some weight.

Girls great news the anatomy scan was PERFECT :D I am so happy I feel like I can finally breath a little. Our baby boy was so active on the ultrasound it was amazing to see all the different body parts and he has such cute little chubby cheeks :) He is on the big side 85th% and already about a pound and he measures 3-4 days ahead so it looks like everything is ok.

My son got a cast on today and luckily he only has to wear it for 4 weeks so he hopefully won't miss his entire baseball season.

Margi I am so sorry about your scare....from everything I have heard the best thing for a sch is taking it easy and drinking lots of water...I will keep you in my prayers

Karian what a scare! Please take it easy and rest as much as you can. I am so glad to hear it all worked out.

I didn't heard anything from my OB's office today. I finished my test at 12:30 yesterday afternoon, I'd image that's plenty of time to have gotten results, right??? :? On one hand, I feel no news is good news, on the other, I would like to actually KNOW what the results were. I guess I'll have to call them first thing tomorrow.

Margi-Firstly, congrats on the double blessing. You must be super excited. Sorry that ur experiencing SCH hell. I went through it for almost two weeks. I read it's usually a better outcome if it happens in early pregnancy bcuz they typically resolve themselves, but it's definitely scary. Brown clots are good.

Lou-You're lookin' good girl. Are you still into those vigorous workouts?

Leorira-I hope you get over that cold soon. Feel better mama.

Anna-sorry about ur DS's hand the 4 wks should pass quickly. He's lucky that's all. You must be so relieved Level II was good and now it's behind you. I can't wait to get to that point. Right now I'll just be happy to reach the end of Tri I so I can have 12 wks under my belt.

Karin-Thank God things turned out okay. That would've scared the heck outta me. Pre term labor is no fun. Been there, done that. I sincerely hope you don't have to go on bed rest. Do whatever doc says.

EOE-Hope all your babies are growing healthy and strong.

AFM-I took my last PIO shot tonight! I thought this day would never come. Now I can get on with the biz of being preggo and start to feel "normal" and not like some science experiment.

hi all.. lots to catch up on as first i was busy with work, then just tired, and now i'm visiting with family..

margi- firstly congrats on the twins! what a blessing! as for sch's... yes i had a large one this pregnancy and with my last pregnancy too (that resulted in my son).. more bleeding with my son, 2 major bleeds at 9 wks, then spotted til wk 13, with this pregnancy, bleeds at 6 wks, and on u/s the sch was "large' and "right beside the embryo"... both of which are the worst kind of sch to have!!! but , alas, all is well.. so don't be scared by what the internet says- i checked lots of what i'd read out with my obgyn, and he said it was all wrong or old news.. basically if the heartbeat is good, odds of m/c are about 1% more than if you didn't have a sch.. nice numbers hey!?

rio- ugh! i so hear you on terrible two's!! it's started already, and man, it's hard to handle at times! and i can tell it's just the beginning. i'm a bit worried about our timing with next baby, i think it'll be rough for a bit, but i'm just so grateful that it's minor potatoes at this point. probably the biggest feeling i'm having about moving up to having 2 kids- is some sadness for the loss of my DS being "the only".. i think it'll be hard on him in some ways. he's just not used to sharing me, and i'm so used to him being my major focus; and that all will change.

karin- what a scare! please take good care of yourself..

leora, hope your cold gets better soon... and anna- congrats on a 'perfect' scan!

afm: i have the week off work (my daycare not being available inspired this) so came to hang out at my parents cause my DH is in his busy work season, and it's a mixed blessing, i'm very relaxed (no grocery shopping or cooking) but i'm starting to get annoyed and sad too... but i am sooo relaxed that i'm starting to feel 'un-pregnant' again.. gosh- there's something so reassuring about feeling tired!! i miss it! lol... my fam is more than a little dysfunctional though.. maybe it's time to head home tomorrow.

sorry that i only got a few personals in, and hi to everyone else out there!! :)

ps. chris/to have fun- where are you!!??

Leora, Mellow, Gina, Crissy, Karen: I can’t tell you how much your stories and experiences helped me--especially since last night while doing some quick shopping--just at the drugstore, nothing heavy, I started bleeding more heavily. :-( And no longer just dark. :( I went straight home and got in bed. But every time I get up for something--especially the toilet, it starts again. I am taking the day off work to totally take it easy today. I am praying that those strong HBs we saw yesterday are still tightly in there and unaffected by all this bleeding, but it is scary nonetheless! Will call OB when his office opens to see if he has any further advice...but I am doing the things you ladies suggest--extra water, no lifting, and taking it easy. Thank you so much for your support and reassurances.

Rio: Glad to hear your little girl is not only on track but a couple days ahead. Perfect! :D

Mellow: Hope you are able to move your scan up. I’d want to see little Claire before that for piece of mind, too. Praying that all is well with her.

Stephanie: Let us know when you hear your results this morning.

Margi; I can't offer personal experience with the bleeding but my heart goes out to you. It must be agonizing to deal with the bleeding. I can only say that I've witnessed many more positive stories than bad ones with the bleeding, especially after those heartbeats have been detected. I have been amazed time and time again with the miracle stories of heavy bleeding and the babies being perfectly fine. I would try to get another ultrasound when you can just for your pure peace of mind. Take it easy - no shopping trip is worth your mental anguish! Lay down, relax and let your babies get nestled in as deeply as possible.

Thank you Sonya. You are indeed correct regarding the agonizing fear, although I am holding onto all the positive stories I have read--particularly those of the strong women here on this board. I go in for u/s today at 2 pm. Praying that I have a positive outcome as the rest have had. Staying in bed until then, trying to keep the positive visualization and talking to my little "blueberries" (that is what I am calling them right now since that is the size they are.) Thanks again for your support.
