Well I had to go and open my big mouth last week and say "I feel so bad posting when everyone is having problems and I have had a relativly smooth pregnancy" I have been sick for almost a week it started with a sore throat last Wednesday and has now turned into a congestion, mucus, cough :( I had a Dr. Appt today just a regular scheduled one and when I told the Dr. I had a cold he said GOOD! good? I about fell off the table but he said RSV has peeked and will be over in about 3 weeks well before I deliver he said that me having this cold now is building up the baby's antibodies and it will help to keep her healthy when she comes out go figure. I will check in soon everyone stay healthy and positive

Whoa Aliann... I am sorry you are suffering with that crap but the doc's right... your beanie will be all the more healthy for it... I am glad you are OK otherwise.

We all seem to be doing well now and if any of our babies come at any point we now know that they will be just fine so thank God everyone because we are all about to have our dreams come true (and remember that when you are up at 1am and 3am and 5am and 7am and can't get more than one hour to an hour and a half of sleep at a time!!! :P )

I had another growth scan today and baby boy is now head down!!!! Yeay!!! I will now opt for a vaginal delivery... I am so happy and I hope he stays that way. Now I know why I have been having such pain for the last few days. It was because he was turning and pushing baby girl right into my liver and kidneys (OUCH!!! ) but it took 2 L&D visits, an ER visit, blood work and a growth scan to give me that insight. Actually the pain is much better BUT my leg, cankle and feet swelling is just awful. I mean it girls, its very bad to the point that I can't really bend my knees and it feels as if my legs are going to split open. I took the day off work today to spend time with my son (he really had a lot to adjust to with all the attention on me and the babies the last few days so we spent the day together) and I have 9 days of work left... I hope they go fast!!! I already mailed my request for leave and return to work so I hope I can go back for the last 2 weeks in June to get another paycheck. Only thing is that if I deliver vaginally I will get less disability money but its worth not getting cut open (remember - I have had a baby and I have had surgery and I prefer vaginal).

OK - baby A girl is 4#11oz and baby boy B is 4#10oz - big babies!!! and the tech said baby girl has a head full of hair (guess that would account for my intermittent heartburn  ) This particular U/S tech was an MD in Georgia (Russia) and so I can be pretty sure she is on the money. I mean she checked and re-checked the abdomen sizes (which is what actually gives you the weights) to be sure about the baby weights so I feel pretty confident that they are at least 4# each.

Update us ladies!!!

Well,
I had a scare today at my OB office. For the past 2 weeks i had a lot wof wetness in my underwear ( sorry TMI) , so she cheked me out and saw a lot of yeast and thought that my my amniotic sack has ruptured  , as soon as she said that i had horror pictures flashing in front of my eyes
But then she did an US and my baby has scored 8 out of 8 on the phisio biological pannel, so I guess it was not a rupture after all
But I have a bad case of yeast infection and bladder infection, they didn't give me anything for the bladder because they think that it could be cause by the yeast. Now I am on monistat for 7 days and I have to come back in a week for a check up, so she can make sure that i don't have a serious infection.
Ahhhh soooo frustrating!!!!! And I still have a family baby shower to go to this coming Sunday.
Cocoa, does it help with your swelling when you put your feet up ? Also, try low salt diet as well, it worked for me.
Aliann, your baby will be fine but i can imagine your frustration. I hope you will feel better soon.

Cocoa, have you tried compression socks? they are working for me - so well it's unbelieveable. I got some in Nordstrom and they were well worth the $10. The only down side is putting them on as reaching for your feet isn't easy! By the way, well done on the babies weights - you should be very proud of yourself!! I'm guessing my are around the 3lb mark but don't have a scan for another week so all being well they will start catching up with yours. AND great news on the V birth - I know that's what you wanted so am very pleased that it's going to be a possibility. Struggling with whether I am a cop out to go straight for a C section but am guessing that's where I'll end up. It would be nice to experience labour though (although not for another 6 weeks!!)

Vlada, sorry to hear about your infection - hope it's not been driving you crazy.

Aliann, get better soon!

No new news on myside - still hanging in there strongly. Uncomfortable by the end of the night and pretty tired now but still planning on another couple of weeks at work if I can. Babies are still moving lots which suprises me as I thought it would be pretty cramped in there by now. Baby B's foot is under my rib cage which is a bit painful.

OK, back to work

Take care all

Hi Ladies! So much going on...I'll post longer later...congrats on all the healthy pregnancies! I have been offline...

Cocoa, so happy you had such a wonderful shower, and I am so, so sorry you are in such pain...my thoughts are with you. BIG BABIES, go girl! Terrific...you just try to take care of yourself...wish we were all there to pamper you, you deserve it...9 more days to go...wishing you well.

Vlada, I hope you feel better soon too..good thing they caught the infection, you have a good doctor...best to you.

Alliann...wah. horrible flu season, wishing you well!

Rebecca...good re: the support socks...I'll have to get a pair, I keep fluffing up..

And Hayley, thanks for the tip on the icandy! I googled it, not sure if we can get it in the US but what a PRETTY PRAM!!!!! You Brits sure know how to add that little extra oomph to things! Reminds me of Mary Poppins, that stroller.

BABIES' ROOM is painted! so, so pretty...my 2 cribs arrived (within less than a week, actually I could've had them in 4 days but I was not ready)...and it's so pretty in there already!

BUT, the room was my office, and we dumped EVERYTHING in the front guestroom..helllooooooo, i can't even bend over or do anything longer than an hour or two...so...

OK, my sister has been here for a week and is INVALUABLE...my other sis came over the weekend...these ladies kicked the guest room/my new office into shape. It took them 5 hours...I swear, my office never looked this clean and good in the past 20 years (of course I can't find anything, but who cares?)
I was so relieved, as I would never have done it and I hated the thought of it hanging over me (only thing my darling husband nags me about, is how messy I am..not SLOPPY, just MESSY..)

Drum roll, for my babies:
My 32 week scan:
baby girl: 4 pds, 7 ounces
Baby boy: 4 pds 1 ounce.
They are extremely healthy...
I am feeling well ... other than the puffy legs and BP slightly elevated (all other tests come back fine)...like an idiot I ate lasagna tonight, it tasted salty, and I go to my OB tomorrow...HEAD BANG AGAINST THE WALL...it was so stupid...my hubby checks my BP every day, sometimes 2 times a day...if he were not an MD and checking it my OB would have me coming in 3 times a week..WHICH would heighten the BP.
sigh :P

Still scheduled for 38 weeks and 3 days. Insane...but if my BP holds out these babies will...and I think all will be okay..

Test drove some strollers. Whoa. The peg perego duette (front to back) drives like a bad bus...
The Macclaren turned well.
BUT I want to get some type of Bob or Valco or Mt. Buggy for city streets....but that'll have to wait...till the babies are ready to go outside

I ordered the snap n go 2 weeks ago (back order) and have the car seats...I am feeling more organized...still lots to do but have done a TON in the past 2 weeks, on my own, before my sisters came.
Everyone have a pediatrician?
I SOOOOO need to get one lined up. sigh.
xxxooo

Hello everyone. Wow Cocoa...your little ones do sound BIG!

I've been for another scan today: #1 is 3Ib8oz and #2 is 3Ib5 oz. Growing nicely! BUT both are now breech. The Ob said they could still turn but it's likely than with a singleton. So looks like one more scan (4 weeks time) and if they are still breech then it will be a C section. At least it's a cut and dry decision if they are both breech. I'd hate to be borderline and have to make the decision myself.

Take care all!

Love,
Hayley xx

Cocoa 9 more days!! Hang in there girl, I am thinking about you!

Woodcliff it is great to have family like yours :D Since I don't work everything is organized in my home (almost :D )...

I have a lot of excitement coming my way soon. Still waiting for my sofa, love seat and recliner to come (any day now); but the BIG one is that my mom and DH's mom are coming this Saturday from Europe. They will be staying until June 1st and I can't wait to be pampered a little bit :D Luckily they get along great and believe it or not it is better to have them over together then one at the time. My mom is little bit hand-full and sensitive and DH's mom is slow, cool and easy going (sometimes to slow :D ) so when you put them together they are dream team!!

And then Saturday after that I have my baby shower...Can't wait. A friend of mine that organizes the shower is into chocolate making lately...Aside from that he's excellent cook, so needless to say that I'm more excited over the food fiesta then presents:)

Croella, how GREAT that you not only love your mom and MIL, but that you look forward to their arrivals...oh goodie! you will be pampered...Where are they from in Europe? Where are you and your husband from? Oh, so far from your home...wishing you well...

The shower and food fest sound great....have fun!

Hayley, glad to hear all is well with the babies! I made the c-section decision, regardless of both babies being breech (I feel like the boy has flipped since last TH's scan)...I can't sacrifice my health (Age and BP) or the babies at this point...very relieved I'm having a c-section...fast and swift...

went to my OB, starting next week I'll have an U/S and fetal stress test...he is a bit concerned about my BP but thinks if I stay home with my feet up I'll be fine...but may not get to 38 weeks...I just want it to stay borderline, the concern now is for my health (babies are OK), so we're keeping a keen eye on it.

Wake up call to get EVERYTHING done by the end of this week...meaning nanny, etc...I have my plan A but not my plan B (if babies arrive early)

best to all...I'm offline for quite awhile now, as sitting here makes my ankles swell.

later gators!

Croella!
I LOVE Croatia...we go away every August to someplace new, and in 2006 it was to Budapest then Dubrovnik and on to Hvar and other islands...
Loved Croatia...I could've stayed in Dubrovnik for the entire time...it was so gorgeous...we looked into real estate on the Adriatic but it has already gotten sky high...sigh. I understand why, it is so gorgeous..

What brings you to San Diego? School?

Wishing you a healthy pregnancy, that both moms bring you some food from your homeland (just curious, what are you craving?), and best of luck in the remainder of your pregnancy...it must be so nice to be 34 weeks + and not worried about all of this #$%@ stuff the twin moms do.

woodcliff my DH got great job offer almost 5 years ago so we decided to go...But since that line of work is being honored and offered (with good enough pay) lately in Croatia too we decided to go back. Ahhh, if you liked Dubrovnik and Hvar you would love any other island on the Adriatic sea :D We live in coastal town too (Rijeka).

I wish we conceived twins! I know it is hard now, but there is twice a joy! I am thankful though that we have one healthy angel on her way :D

Hi Girls...

Well, I'm home today (again! - I was home on Monday too...). This pregnancy is getting to me with all the contractions and the terrible lower extremity swelling (my legs actually hurt) and i have pitting edema - yuck!!! Anyway, at my OB visit yesterday I found I had gained 16 pounds in 2 weeks - edema of course AND I had contractions every 3 mintues  so my OB wants me out of work NOW!!! I am so upset because this will really cause me financial problems but I hope I get a substantial tax return as that will help. As you know my DH (D for dastardly, disgusting, damn - you name it) has not paid a dime on the credit card and its due AGAIN on Friday... I actually transferred it to a 0% card offer so I hope that covers it for this month. I hate him!!!

I am actually pretty much done with my reports at work, and all my other papework for my co-wrokers to take charge for a few months is all in order - even my supervisor's folder is complete so I don't feel too out of order.

I'm not sure I told you but I am 1.5cm dialated but not effaced and no funneling. My OB told me yesterday that a vaginal delivery is an option as long as I make it to 37 weeks - if not, she'll do a c-sec no matter the babies positions. That pisses me off because I don't want any more surgery!!! I think that poses a greater risk so I will take the terbuatline sulfate every THREE hours now and hope the babies stay in for another 5 weeks (target date - April 9th). You know, something told me that I would make it to Feb 29th but not the 14th of this month... just had a feeling. Anyway, if my legs don't hurt too much tomorrow I will go in to finish the reports because at 9am we are all going to our suoervisor's grandfather's wake to pay respects and I do want to be there.

CroElla!!! You are so blessed to be able to live in two countries and WC I wish I could travel but I chose to add to my family instead right now. I will travel again one day though. I have been to London, England, Ireland, France, Switzerland and all over the US and parts of Canada but there are a ton of places I want to go!!!

Well, I made it to 32weeks!!!! Yeay!!!! but this is so difficult - nothing at all like my singleton pregnancy (but I am older now). Baby girl likes to stick her feet into my liver and it hurts. I can hardly eat (which is why I know the poundage is fluid) and I have terrible acid reflux when I do. Thank God my BP is fine and there is no protein in my urine but I found out I can still have a heart problem even post-partum due to this medicine and the fact that my legs carry so much fluid... Greaaaaattt....

OK, gotta go to the bank (I have no choice) so I have to get dressed. I also need to pick up more of my meds...

Love to you all,

xxxCocoa

Cocoa, I know you're upset but it's about time your OB put a stop to your work...you can always borrow money and pay it back in the future, but your health is more important than any paycheck.

Your babies sound fine, but you do not...fortunately, as you noted, your BP is not high...but edema is nothing to play with. So glad you made it to 32 weeks, but we all have a way to go before our babies are out of the danger zone.

Cocoa, please Stay home tomorrow, skip the wake. He's not family.

I am so NOT going out until these babies are born...I don't care who dies, who is in town, who needs me. My babies are #1...and my own health...we're both in our 40s and that poses some strange risks at this stage...my BP drops back to normal when I stay home, sleep, and don't go anywhere...that is what I intend to do until the end.

I know financial problems can skew decisions..but ask your dad for a loan, or go to the bank for one...you've pushed yourself far enough...enough! You can always pay back money...but you can not get your health or your babies' health back.

Now you need rest for when the babies are born, as (i love your description of your husband) you will be doing it on your own.

I admire you but so want to see you slow down!

I'm back to bed...my routine: sleep in, get up for a short spell, go back to bed...
33 weeks Friday...and hoping to hold out to 35 at LEAST...
good luck

WC...I hear you...I thnk God has heard too as it has been impossible to get comfortable today and the leg swelling came back even though I have been in bed almost all day...so guess I'm out for the count...I'm a bit hungry too but I have such pain in my abdomen (I am guessing its gas all caught up) that I can't even think about putting anything in my stomach... Let's face it - I'm just miserable and can't wait to have these kids OUT!!! Best rest is depressing when you're alone with no one to help except the occasional times when your friends come to help (thank God for them). I can't put too much on my son as he's just a kid so I have to suck it up and go without.

OK, gotta get comfy and typing is anything but comfy...
