Stephanie: Congratulations on your boys, how awesome for you! I love their names and your bump is so cute.

We are still working on names. My husband wants to name one of them Will, now I need to pick the other name.
A few of the choices are:
Bennett, Wyatt, and Landon.

I didn't realize how tough it would be to pick names this time around.

Tomorrow is my big U/S, and DH is finally off and gets to come with me. :D He hasn't been able to
go since our 6 week, he's a police officer and works a crazy schedule. If the kids have off again due to the weather we may bring them as well. The room will be full!

Stephanie- congrats on your two precious boys. Love the belly pics!

Gina- good luck at your big u/s tomorrow. I know you must be so excited!

Ryan- are you feeling any better?

I love everyone's belly pics. I haven't taken any yet...as I'm not convinced I look pregnant yet vs. just larger waisted. My DH says I look preggers, but I think he's just being sweet. hehehe I'll post some starting around 16 weeks. I think we will find out the sex around that time too! Yeah!

Karen...thanks for checking on me! I actually think I may be getting over the hump. I'm starting to feel a little more like myself. I had 3 days without throwing up, then 1 day of throwing up, and now on my second without. Anything beats everyday, 7-8 times a day! I haven't lost anymore weight, and have been able to introduce alittle
bit of food into my life! I think I will be just fine!

Stephanie - gorgeous twins!!!!!!!!!! Congrats on boys - they are so much fun!

Cravings argh - talk about torture! I lost 2lbs since pre pregnancy due to strict GD diet. So I am bored out of my mind with the very limited choices of food I have. So yep I would love a huge chocolate shake and a big In and out burger!!!!!!!!!!! 24 weeks to go until I can eat real food ;)

Thanks so much for the congrats everyone! I couldn't wait to get home to share the news with you all. :D

Ryann - Awesome PMA, girl! Before you know it, you'll be so incredibly hungry every minute of every day!

Rio - I feel so awful for you having to deal with your crazy restricted diet. :( Hang in there! Baby will be here soon and you will be able to indulge again.

I wanted to vent for a minute. Long story, short... The transit company I work for is literally REFUSING to shut down service, despite the history making winter storm happening right outside my window that is closing EVERYTHING in town! Not such a big deal for yesterday and today since those are my days off, but they are reportedly making threats against anyone that calls off from work, which I'm back on the schedule tomorrow. I live in a small town outside of the city I work in and am TERRIFIED of trying to get into work, let alone being behind the wheel of a 40 ft vehicle for 8 hours or more! I'm 99.5% sure I'm going to call in FMLA just to be sure to cover my tail. From my understanding, they can't even question the nature of the call in, they just have to grant me the time off. I feel terrible doing this, but feel as though the well being of my unborn babies and myself without a doubt trumps their selfish determination to provide service to a shutdown city. Does anyone have any expertise on FMLA? I want to make sure I'm not putting my job at risk. They've had my papers since my last bleed, so 2 months now and I have yet to "play that card"... UGH, this is very frustrating!

Stephanie - yes, take a day off! Sick time and if they do question maybe you can say you are too dizzy and don't want to pose a risk to your passengers and yourself, come on you are preggers with twins! Plus once you are pregnant - you are a protected category, at least in CA. You can't get fired or laid off. Would your Doctor give you a note? I think they can request a note from your doctor... I agree with you.

Stephanie, I'm with Rio on this one...don't feel bad about it...it's not like anyone will be out in this anyway. It's a clear safety issue, and not worth the risk to you or your little guys.

Hi girls. I have a pretty important, stressful question to ask you. I'm hoping some of you are familiar with the 2nd trimester screening. Here's the story:

My nuchal scan went well. Everything checked out fine. Even the 1st trimester bloodwork.

On my level II scan they found a "soft marker" for Downs. An ecogenic Intracardiac focus (which is a white spot on the heart.) The doctor said that he found no other markers except for that one and everything else looked fine.He said that many babies have that and are born fully normal.

I went in to have some 2nd trimester bloodwork done. (2nd trimester screen - Quad test, I believe it is called). My OB called me today and wants me to come in because my bloodwork showed abnormalities. I am freaking out.....Do any of you have any experience with this????? I am trying to stay calm but I'm so worried.

Thanks in advance.
estimated ER is 10/12
estimated Emb. Transfer is 10/15-10/17 :) [/color]
Beta #1 - 123 :)
Beta #2 scheduled for Thursday 10/28 - 256 :)
U/S scheduled for 11/15!!! + Heartbeat. Pregnant with one little angel!

I wish I had some answer for you, but, I don't. Just know that I will keep you and your little one in my prayers. I know it's got to be stressful, especially when you don't know the answers, but try to hang in there. We are all here for you. Please let us know what your Dr. says. Will be thinking of you and praying in the mean time.

Stephanie: Your employer cannot do anything if you call out while on FMLA. On top of that there is pregnancy discrimination and here is a paragraph that I just copied and pasted.

Pregnancy & Maternity Leave: An employer: cannot single out pregnant women for special procedures to determine
her ability to work; must hold open the job while she is on pregnancy leave; must treat
her the same as any temporarily disabled worker if she is unable to perform her duties
for a short time; must allow her to work if she is able.

You can google the laws, there's plenty of info out there. Definitely don't go to work. Good luck! I'm not even sure I will make my U/S and OB appointments tomorrow as we're supposed to get lots of ice overnight.

Freckles: Have you considered an Amnio? You may want to ask your doctor if it will give you a more definitive answer. I will keep you and your little one in my prayers. After having a good nuchal scan and bloodwork I didn't have the quad screen done.

I'm supposed to have my 20 week scan tomorrow if the weather cooperates. We shall see!

Freckles,

I don't have any experience wtih FMLA but I think you should follow your gut. If your supervisor isn't one who will understand, I'd do what is in the best safety interest of you/babies wellbeing. Don't ever feel that isn't the right decision!

Freckles, go to http://community.babycenter.com/groups/ ... _diagnosis
they have tons of posts of questions and experiences like yours and good outcomes most of the time. Go talk to your doctor and if you are worried ask about an amnio, it might help you put your mind at ease. Yes there is a chance of miscarriage but these days it is very low. Talk to him and see what he thinks. I got a false positive on my first trimester blood and freaked out, ended up DS was just fine. Good luck!

Freckles - I'm with Rio. Babycenter community forums are such a great place to find A LOT of women that have experience with so many different situations... I'm sure you can find tons of info and some comfort there. Praying for you and baby.

Stephanie - I concur, no work for you tomorrow!

Freckles - I'm sorry I don't have any words of wisdom on your situation, but I'm sending positive thoughts and prayers your way. I agree that amnio may be a good option to get a definitive answer but please let us know what the OB says when you meet with him. ((HUGS))
