Hello All,
Better news from me today - both eggs fertilized :D :D :D
I've been grinning all afternoon. I know that this means that we have the whole 2ww to get through but at least it means that this last tmt will be a full try at it. It's a shame that we only have 2 embies but who cares - at least I have 2. I've no idea what grade they are. Our clinic doesn't tell you anything like that. Last time I asked if they were good and they told me that they were above average qality but I still got a BFN so I guess that's nothing to go on.
I'm in for ET at 10am tomorrow, then home to put my feet up. I've already phoned work to tell them that I'm going to be off sick all next week (can't say my boss sounded too pleased, but he said all the right things - just the tone of his voice that gave his true feelings away). DH and my Mum are both already fussing like mad about me putting my feet up - guess I'll make the most of it - I'm usually such a busy person.
Have fun all

Love
Debbie

Debbie, that's excellent! Good luck tomorrow with ET, I'll be thinking about you all day. Enjoy putting your feet up.

Catch up with you later in the 2ww, you know the drill.....relax, enjoy, PMA and practice that grin!

Hello everyone!

Post by erjumper »

Hi, I'm new to this site and just spent awhile reading up on the last few weeks. I am 40 and in 2ww of 4th and final IVF cycle. I'm in the US and had 16 eggs retrieved on July 27th. 14 fertilized and all made it to blasts on day 5 so we transferred 4. Only 3 lived to the next day to freeze though. I've gottan pregnant 2x before with IVF but my problem is losing them. This cycle though i'm in Metformin, baby aspirin and heparin injections twice a day. My HCG test is on Wednesday (10th) and I have to go to my sister-in-laws baby shower this Sunday and start a new job on Tuesday. The new job doesn't know about my having IVF so i'm panicked that it's going to be negative and i'll just be losing it emotionally without these people having a clue why. It's a high stress job as it is and I feel like if I add 1 more stressor i'll just fall off an emotional cliff. This is our last shot since no more insurance. Of course we're so lucky to have insurance at all!! Most US insurance companies don't cover infertility. How is it where you all are? Anyway, I have breast tenderness and severe heartburn last 2 days but I don't know if that could be just from Progesterone injections. The minutes go by like hours and i'm trying so hard to relax.....all this anxiety can't be good for the babies IF any did implant. My mother-in-law told me last time if I lost the baby it would be my fault because I was stressing too much and just needed to relax. Her daughter is having a boy in September and she cried because she wanted a girl!! I just wanted to slap her! Sorry if that sounds selfish but you'd think that since she sees all the trouble her brother is having (we are severe male factor) that she'd be thankful for her ability to get pregnant after only 2 months trying! Instead she's disappointed because it's not the sex she wanted! HELP! I'm losing my mind! Tried acupuncture but could not relax. Laying still made me more anxious. I need a distraction. Wishing all well.
Lisa

Lisa, if either your MIL or SIL need a slap, just ask one of us! I'm glad you joined us, talking to people who understand can only help :)

If I'm not mistaken, none of us are state funded (someone correct me if I'm wrong). I'm British but live in Norway where state funding stops at woman = 38 so we had no choice but to go private - there's no insurance but the meds are refunded for every other attempt.

Your numbers are really good, 14 from 16 is excellent. I've never produced more than 10 follicles but always been quite lucky with viable embryos for use/freezing (6,4,6).

If you're lucky the new job will be a great distraction. Hopefully it won't kick off for a bit and you'll have at least some time to settle down. Let's think positive, maybe you'll be figuring out how to conceal morning sickness from new co-workers soon? I've always found that I'm better off busy during the 2ww and having to put on a brave face after bad news than sitting at home weeping. Last year I miscarried in the middle of a fortnight of 150 1:1 student language assessments. If I'd been at home, I would have done nothing but dwell, as it was I had no choice to keep my head up and keep going.

Good luck with the baby shower, shame you can't avoid it really.

The 10th will be here before you know it, even with time passing so slowly.

hugs
Debra.

Katie,
How did you get your Ticker Factory counter to post after your sig? I made 1 and tried pasting both the HTML and bbTcode in my profile narrative but it's not showing up.

Sharon,
Thank you, thank you, thank you for all the detailed information on what you did regarding diet and acupuncture (also the fsh explanation). I really appreciated it and understood it  (rare for me). I think I'm finally ready to give in and get the Zita West book  There are too many women on here whom I have come to respect that feel strongly about this book.

Debbie.... soooooo happy for your successful fertilization and transfer!!!! Keep grinning! :D We're grinning with you!
Katie... good luck to you too!

Hi Alette! You can "pop" in anytime. How are you? Are you getting big yet?

Hey Lisa,
I believe ve stands for: +ve (positive), -ve (negative).
I put the cursor under my signature notes about myself then I went to Edit and hit copy.

Thanks for good wishes. I pray your sister-in-law will be going to your baby shower this late winter or spring.
We are happy to have you with us Lisa. :D

Hello All,
Well. et went fine. Got to see the 2 embies before they put them in - then got to have a picture of them putting them back in - a bit freaky but nice to have. Can't tell if they have my nose yet though!!
Just got the 2ww to get through now.
On both of our previous tmts af has shown up on day 13 (with some very slight bleeding begining on day 12) so that will be the day I'm dreading.
Guess I'll be on here lots over then next couple of weeks. I was going to go back to work (been on hliday for the last week) but I can't face it s have gone off sick. Not sure how long I'll take yet.
Take care all,
Love
Debbie

Debbie

Great news on the ET - I wish you all the very best of luck with the 2ww. I had to wait for the pregnancy test for results - I don't know which is worse.

I went sick for the whole 2 weeks and watched the first 2 series of the West Wing. I have no idea if watching Rob Lowe everyday helped with implantation but it can't do any harm! Whatever you do - do not feel guilty about being off work.

I wish you the very best of luck - it feels like I am going through my 2ww all over again!
