Hi everyone - sorry I've been quiet lately - I've been doiing an essay for an MPhil course I'm doiing and I had to really concentrate. Lovely to hear from Jackie S and Carla who I haven't heard from for ages. Carla - great that you're well. Jackie S - my scan was at Fetal Imaging Centre Leamington - maybe the next one will be better! (see below)
Vicky - all I can remember is: "Only love can make a memory, only love can make a moment last, you were there and all the world was one with all its songs unsung and I remember you then when love was won, that's all we were living for and how you gave that love to me, you were there and my whole world was one - I was born for you and you were born for me!" - Of course, some of those words could be my invention! - you know how you make sense of songs in weird ways. It just feels so fitting singing it to the baby but I don't remember any verses or anything else.
Lil P - congrats on reaching 3rd tri - great news - say hello to Smita, Kim and everyone from me and I hope to join you soon
Jacs - sorry you're having such a miserable time - I've been quite ill lately and suffering from terrible back pain too - I feel like I'm being punished for having such an easy first 6 months!
Well I finally had my 3d scan today after weeks of anticipation and it was...disastrous! The baby was hidden behind the placenta with its head tilted right back into my hip bone. The sonographer tried to get an image for ages but only managed to hurt me in the process with deep probes into my bone and the only images we saw were quite frankly terrifying! It looked like an alien child - we were told that unless the baby is facing the right way it's very hard to get 'baby' shots because of the effect of shadows etc. They've re-booked me for two weeks time but how disappointing - I was so excited. Still, at least I get another one for no further cost and we saw 'some' things today (though I couldn't tell you what!). I hope it works out next time because it sounds wonderful when it happens well.
Anyway, love to all - sorry for not doiing personals for everyone - my back's hurting again so I'll do them next time.

I still can't remember the tune - I think I'll have to get a copy for myself for Christmas - I expect that won't be the hippest purchase in HMV this season! However! Urrgg Essay writing - hope it went well. It's a long time since I had to write an essay - I don't envy you. Hope you have more luck with your scan next time. I just had my 20 wk scan and I've got go back cause they couldn't see the heart properly. She kept poking me with jellied proddy thing to make the baby move - but it wasn't having any of it. Still good to get another scan. Oh yes - just wanted to let you know that my pictures were really horrible! I know I shouldn't say that but because the baby was facing us we've got a really skeletal/alien picture - not one to show the reli's - doesn't really go with the cutesy picture frame she gave me with a stork on the front either! Love Vicky

I bet you still had tears in your eyes when they started focusing in on your baby, even if they couldn't get the best of pictures. We had the same problem with Joshua, he put his hand over his face for the first 15 minutes then turned over so we could only get the back of his head. We were sent for a walk and when we came back he still wasn't coorporating. The sonographer had just said she thinks it is best we repeat the scan in 2 weeks when John's mum said 'oh thats a good one' and then they said that is enough pictures so we never got to repeat
A bit of advice -get the scan on dvd if you can then you can capture pics on your pc through the dvd. I captured about 350 I think and got a lot better range than what I got from the clinic.

Thanks Jackie - that's really reassuring that its not just me! I'm sure DH thought I could have done more to get the baby to co-operate - he had taken a whole day off work and was really disapppointed! I'll have a peek at your piccies later, sounds lovely and thanks for advice re. DVD.
Vicky - you did make me lol with your 'alien' comments - mine and your baby just don't want us to see them looking cute do they?! Sorry you had a bit of a disappointment with your 20week not able to catch heart from the right angle (I think thats what you said) - hope you're not worried about it, lots of people go back because there's things that can't be measured properly - and like you said, its a real bonus having an extra scan. I wish I could be a fly on the wall when you go in for Only Love!! I suppose you could always try and download over net to save embarrassment!
Hi and Happy Christmas shopping to everyone else,
Much love,

Hi, ladies So sorry I haven't posted in a while...didn't realize how long it had been until I started catching up on all of you. I guess I just got caught up with the holidays. My husband was away on business for 2 weeks, which left all of the shopping up to me. Thank goodness we (I) are all done!
I will be 17 weeks on Wednesday, and my bump is really noticeable now. I have gained 10 pounds thus far...at my last ob appointment they told me I hadn't gained enough wait. All of a sudden I started gaining without even trying. Now I'm worried I will gain too much. Do you remember what you gained by this point? Finding that very few of my pants fit me now! I have to say...I love it I am very proud of my bump! I am sure you all feel the same way. We had our first ultrasound and he/she is doing great
Believe it or not, we have already painted the nursery...didn't buy anything yet, but wanted to get this done before I get big and don't want to do it anymore!
Take care everyone!

with the twins i have gained 18 pounds. that is within the range that they wanted me to gain. i feel HUGE, but am trying to understand that i have two babies inside that need nourishment.
Hi girls,
I can't believe it's actually taken me this long to post on this side, it's all i've wanted since joining this site but i'm finally here and now just over 19wks pg. I've been given two due dates, at my first scan at the clinic i was told 17th May by the Dr who performed my FET but the obstetrician here (who seems a real arrogant know it all, lol) says definately not 17th but the 15th, him and DH got into a bit of a serious discussion about which date and neither was backing down, it was quite funny. He changed the dates on my notes and is going with the 15th so looks like we have to aswell.
I've been feeling rotten with morning sickness since about 6wks but thankfully it's now dying back to maybe once or twice a week instead of half a dozen times a day.
I felt the first flutterings of bubs a couple weeks ago, felt like little bubbles popping, then nothing again for a week, then nothing again for another week but over the last few days the popping is becoming more frequent and a bit stronger, can't wait til i start to feel proper kicks, shouldn't be too much longer now i guess.
I have my detailed 20wk scan next Wednesday and we are gonna find out the sex of bubs, can't wait to start saying he or she instead of it or bubs.
Both sets of parents are giving us money for Christmas so we are thinking about putting it towards getting a 4D scan done, i know it costs a lot of money and could be put towards getting stuff for bubs but we think this will be our only baby so why not make the most of this while we can, i found a place in Glasgow that does them so not too far away.
A quick qestion, has anyone else been getting the hiccups? I get them every day but not like a normal bout of hiccups, only one or two at a time but it's on and off all day every day. Is this a normal symptom?
Well, it's my day off today so i'd better go and get my work clothes washed and dried for tomorrow, working right up til 5pm on Christmas eve, shop work sucks at this time of year, we are only closed on Christmas day and New Years day. So with work and Christmas i doubt i'll be back on until sometime next week. I'll come on and let you know how the scan goes on Wednesday.
Sorry for such a long post.
Take care all and hope you all have a brilliant last Christmas before bubs comes along.
Lotsa love
Michelle

Hi Michelle - congrats on getting to 19weeks - its such a thrill posting on 2nd tri site isn't it? The only thing is, we seem much quieter than we were in 1st tri but I think thats just cos we're busy and we're all not worrying quite so much. Enjoy your 20week scan - its a thrilling one - I couldn't believe how much my little one had grown. Also, don't rely on definitely knowing sex - they still can't tell me after my 25 week 3d because baby wasn't in good position for 20 or 25 week!!! DH says its gonna be an awkward, stubborn child - like me!! Scan is still superb though in getting all the measurements and reassuring signs and we saw our baby yawning and stretching and rubbing its eyes and delicious things like that. Haven't had any hiccups but I'm sure its nothing to worry about - don't they say that means your baby has hair? Or is that an old wives tale? Or is that indigestion? Who knows? - I'm more confused than ever with this pregnant brain - last week I found some bacon in a cutlery drawer and a remote control in the fridge!
Love to everyone - p.s does anyone know if baby stores do the old January sales thing?

Hi everyone - hope you all had a lovely Christmas. I had a few pressies for little one but just off my friends - my family are a bit more superstitious than that - they keep telling me I shouldn't have anything in the house until after the birth but I'm sorry but I've filled my little babys cupboard with bargains from Debenhams and Mama and Papas!! I'm the first usually to be careful and cautious but this pregnancy has made me just feel joyful and like celebrating and I don't want to act as if somethings goiing to go wrong - I'd rather act like everythings goiing to be fine so my nursery iis goiing to be fully decked out within the month!! Talking of bargains - its worth ringing mamas and papas order line - there's some bargains on the internet (I ordered a pramette for £150 down from £300) but I also rang the order line to order the cot-bed and dresser set we wanted at full price cos it wasn't showing on the internet site. I was thrilled to find that that had been reduced too and instead of costing £525, it was £375. There's also some good sites - Kiddicare and baby equipment who do branded goods at cheaper prices. Has anyone else started shopping yet?
Have a wonderful New Year everyone - can't wait for us all to be mummys!!
love and hugs, Cherylxxx
