Hello ladies

I notice you're discussing the BIG Q... how many IUIs before IVF? Well, I've done both, and believe me if there's a chance IUI will work, I'd go with that rather than IVF. It's so much nicer a treatment! I agree with the 4 attempts at IUI having read the internet, but my doc suggests only 3 IUIs. So I'm confused. I'm not in a hurry to convert back to IVF. Oh well, 2nd IUI next week, let's hope it's a good one.

As for time off work, I've managed it ok so far. I've either got in early to work to make up the time, and left early or worked from home and nipped to the docs. I told my boss (it was quite obvious we were having problems ever since I'd had my miscarriage and needed a month off work!), as long as I don't take the mick, he's ok with it. I'll probably do a bit of work at home this week and I did a 12 hr day yesterday so I figure a couple of hours off here and there won't make a difference.

Anyway, good luck to you all, I really hope that this is the treatment for you!!
x

Thanks everyone! It's still a long road, but I'm just so happy that we made it this far, and that I can get preggers! :D

I was really convinced that AF was coming...even went so far as to apologize to DH (you know, the usual "I'm so sorry it didn't work again hon", etc)...but still no AF...then another day, still no AF. Had some light cramping, but no spotting, nothing. And I was such a good girl I even stayed away from the evil pee stick! (OK, well maybe I looked in the cabinet, thought I had one to use, but didn't...if it had been there, it would have gotten used, I admit!).

So, IUI DOES WORK!

Take care all and all the best to those stimming, collecting, transferring, waiting....the best is yet to come!!

It is wonderful to know that IUI does work. I have not posted for a few days but was interested in the big question regarding IUI vs IVF. Just got BFN from 2nd IUI and have now got to take a month off as clinic closed over easter. We have got funding for 1 cycle of IVF, any time after May so will probably try to get in one more try of IUI. I would have liked to have been able to go straight into it again this month as I had heard that 4 attempts was a good number. However DH thinks this might be better to give my body time to recover from the meds before we start again.

Good luck to everyone

Angel..
I know its frustrating to have to take the time off.. Due to overstimulation I also am off right now.. It does give your body and mind some time to relax (which for me has been good)

Hi ~Jacko

I know that a month off is probably a good thing. Last time around I started straight on the next cycle 3 days after AF started, which meant that I had something else to look forward to. This time around I have got to take some time out so am already analysing my feelings more. Also getting alot of pain with AF, and PMT from hell so maybe my body is trying to tell me it needs a rest from the meds.

I am so glad I have got this site to come to as I think I would crack up without it.

Good luck to everyone else. Jan has the news sunk in yet?

Take care
Angela
