Carolyn,
...glad I can keep up my beloved yoghourt withought feeling guilty :) I don't think you're being black and white about this diet business! I have the exact same tendency of being either obsessive-compulsive or lax with these things. So for sure it's better to keep control. I think what might really help me in being moderate is to make myself a plan. If I decide at the beginning of the day or week what I want to eat and when, I might actually by capable of sticking to my plan.

Time is passing slowly again. My review appointment will be the 22nd of June...I'll have turned 31 by then. Not really looking forward to that day. I have always pictured myself being a young mom of three. Anyway I am already starting to write lists of questions for my poor Dr. He's somewhat a shy guy, he'll have to support quite a bit of persistency on the 22nd.

LucyBucy,
thank you for the diary info!
I am glad you're starting to be excited about your wonderful BFP!

LauraLou,
I hope that you can relax a bit. I can only imagine the whole new dimension of worries one is confronted with after finally having a BFP. But hcg levels do develop in such a wide range interindividually. Good luck on Monday!!

Best wishes and a sunny weekend for everybody,
Veronika

Hello everyone!

We are moving down to the coast for the summer, so it will be a little while before I can post again - until we can get connected at home. We are fine (me and my brood), although of course I don't know really if anyone is still alive in there..... And I won't know for a while because
my doctor just gave me another shot of HcG (10dp3dt), and says I should have another in 7 days time. So there goes my plans for secret HPTs! I can't believe that it will actually be 27, yes TWENTY SEVEN days from ovulation to the first possible test. So it is almost a 4ww for me. Does anyone know why my RE thinks that hcG shots during pregnancy is good support for the luteal phase? At least there is no temptation now to do a sneaky HPT, as it would definitely show positive.

Well I hope that everyone keeps well, and I hope to be in touch soon.

Sofia
my doc gave a total of 3 HCG the last one was 3days post trans (28th) that is why I can not test until the 11th. I am not sure I have not heard a lot of docs doing this but mine did..

How are all the other lovely laides on this thread doing..

Veronika I had the same double posting problem yesterday (acutally I am realy inpatient so I ended up posting it 5 times) It is good that you will be prepared with lots of questions for your doctor.. that is what they are there for...

I am having a hard day.. My nerves are still really shot and I just keep having this horrible feeling it is af on her way.. After 32 years and 18 of those being with AF I guess I feel like I know this feeling.. But hopefully I am wrong. I am still tyring to hold on to my one little stong fighter of an embie (who would not give up)

I hope you all have a nice weekend.

Jackie- I'm sorry you're having a bad day. I can't believe how long you and Sofia have to wait to test. My nerves would be shot too! I had lots of cramps after my transfer, in fact, I still get them. They are common in early pregnancy, so perhaps that's what you're feeling, not AF.

I am trying not to stress about my beta levels. We are going out for dinner tonight to celebrate. Part of me wanted to cancel, but I'm determined to believe that everything will fine. Just one more hump for me to get over.

Best wishes and lots of baby dust to everyone!

Laura - You made it this far. Try to stay positive. I have read that hcg levels can vary quite a lot. Hoping that you will get good news on Monday

Lucy - I have seen the stats from ARGC which are amazing. :D Have heard that it is very expensive - would you mind at least indicating whether that was the case or not for you? If this is tmi or me being too nosey - then just tell me to bugger off. I have also heard that the clinic is very busy and that you have to make loads of visits and they try drugs that are unlicenced? Very interested to hear about your experience. Dh and I are committed to another couple of cycles at Hammersmith but not sure that I would be able to stop myself having one last roll of the dice at ARGC before we call it a day on ivf. Appreciate any info that you can give. It clearly did the trick for you. We asked Hammersmith at our review meeting about putting 3 back. He said that they would consider it for me but not yet. That I stimmied well and that they would be concerned about multiples if they put back 3. He indicated 2 next time again.

Sofia - hope all is well with the 'family'. What a long wait............I am sure that he must be doing it to give you the best chance in the long run. I just had the one jab so cannot help at all. Enjoy the time by the coast and relax as much as you can

Jackoa - Try to stay positive. While there is no physical sign of AF then she is still staying away. Bread was lovely

Veronika - you are still young - imagine my crisis when I turned 4-0 earlier this week  . I found that having the list of questions really helped in the review meeting so sure that it is good to go in with a list even if he had answered some of the questions before I even got to my list. It helped me prepare and also hold it together in the meeting itself.

Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend. So much better when it is sunny which it is this weekend - at least in London. :D
Take good care everyone.

How was everyone's Saturday?
It's raining here so its been a lazy saturday night watching movies. My dh went to bed so I thought I'd pop in.

Carolyn- I’m glad the BMI info is useful. Yep I know what you mean I’ve gained weight too in these last few weeks.Doesn’t help that I haven’t been moving around much and it hasn’t stopped raining in almost three weeks. My dh and I went for a walk after supper tonight with an umbrella- we’ve just had enough of this rainy weather. Thanks about the info on the baby aspirin- I’m not sure what to decide about that- when I was admited in the hospital they told me my hemoglobin level was 152 and that’s why they gave me heparin blood thining shots- so I wonder if I have bad circultation- in the winter I always have cold feet even with the thickest, warmest socks on the market!!! Glad to know yougourt is good- yummy!!Love the stuff! :) :D Go ahaead enjoy the bread a bit is always fine!!

Veronika-Glad that you are here to share with us as well. Your english is great- don’t worry about it. I agree about the food- we can’t base the success of IVF on everthing we eat- it might get overwhelming. But I know for myself if I eat just a bite I might end up eating a lot more- I gave up chocolate, coffee and alcohol for a few months- and I actually didn’t miss it much- until I started eating chocolate again and now I think about it almost everyday- its my biggest weakness- coffee is not so bad- I had one this week after 2 months and my heart rate was so high I felt light headed so I decided to forget about it. Yeah a Montrealer! We are at the McGill Clinic at RVH in Montreal as well. How do you like the service at your clinic? I know what you mean about the review appt. I’ve already prepared my list oif questions and possible plan B and C . I think the Dr. Will find I’m pretty persistent this time around.I know the wait is getting to me too- june 12th!!!

Carolyn/Veronika-I know what you mean- I feel like we didn’t really know what IVF was all about so we basically just followed their recommendations- we did ask to have three embies put back but the DR on the day of ET explained in detail that he didn’t want to take that chance for fear of multiples, but we didn’t really pressure him.

Lucybucy- I’m happy you are starting to feel excited! Go ahead and enjoy ! Thanks about eh soya/dairy info. I have to get Zita West’s book- it seems like there are a lot of important info.

Lauralou- I agree with everyone- there is a wide range of HCG levels-It must not be easy but I think you’ve chosen a great way to deal with it-Hang in there! Good luck on Monday.

Sofia- the coast must be great! Drop by for a chat when you get the internet hooked up. Your clinic sounds very thorough with the additional HCG shots- I didn’t have the same protocol- I agree with you 4ww is long you will have to exercise a lot of zen-like patience!!! Won’t be easy but you can do it!Try to take it easy as much as you can.

Jakie-I know the wait can be really hard, its not easy when you’re having a bad day but the cramping could also be a good sign a lot of BFP girls have mentionned it in their posts - keeping my fingers crossed for your little fighter!!

Hope- only 2 sleeps- hang in there with not long to go.I know its hard I got especially nervous when it was the last four days- its a mix of excitement and just wanting to know.I wish you a BFP!Good luck when you test- tuesday.

Em- how was your PARTY!!!!!?????Did you have a blast?

I'm just getting impatient for my review appt. adding new questions qhen I think of them- my list is getting a bit long. The Dr. will have to be patient with my numerous questions!!!

Hugs and baby dust to all!

Hey Girls!

Well, I'm back on the ride again! But first things first. PARTY WAS FABULOUS! I had 40 people in the end and everyone had a great time. My family all put in and bought me a SAECO coffee machine, the kind that you put the whole beans and the water in the back and whenever you feel like a cup, you just push a button and viola, fresh coffee.

I know, I know - you Zita West girls are all groaning over my mortal soul at the moment with all that caffine but I have decaf beans! Fresh Fake Coffee anytime I want it!

Now a question. Is this normal? I am a regular 28 day cycle girl and AF wasn't due until next week but she came on saturday which was Day 21. Is this due to the meds I've been on? I have never had a 3 week cycle before in my life and I'm a little nervous.

But it does mean that Clomid starts tomorrow and then my IUI should be on around the 16th June (testing around 2nd July). Its a week earlier than I had expected and I'm a little thrown but bring it on, I guess.

Carolyn - I glad you've got a new plan of attack. Good luck with your lap. I had mine before any treatment as part of the infertility investigation. Its interesting to hear that others have IUI's before they check tube patency. Also I feel for you on hearing your friend's pregnancy news. My best friend rang and told me that her sister who is also having difficulties TTC has just had a BFP after her first IUI. I know she was trying to make me feel better but her sister is 25 and already has a 2yr old daughter. It just made me feel all the more sorry for myself.

Lucy and Lauralou - Well done girls! (oops and your DHs - I guess they had some small part in all this!! ) You give us hope that we will succeed too.

Veronika - welcome to our little haven. You will always be safe to speak your mind here and get all the support you need.

Sofia - Bugger!! (UK girls, honestly thats not a swear word in Oz  ) a 4WW???!!!??? That is just not funny. Or fair. Shall be thinking of you.

Do we know how many of us April/May girls got BFP's? There seems to be a lot which is a fantastic success rate. It gives hope to the rest of us for next cycle.

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and lots of PMA for the coming week.

Happy Sunday to Everyone

Image

It is nice and sunny in London again today after weeks of dreary weather -it really helps the spirits. Image

Hope - not long to go now. You had success with a FET before so why would this not work again. Try to stay as positive as you can. Just a couple of sleeps still to go

Laura - hope that you and dh had a lovely celebration last night :D

Dania - I understand that the acupuncture can really aid circulation. My consultant and my acupuncturist told me that circulation and ensuring the womb is warm & cozy is v v important for implantation. So hopefully the acupuncture will be able to help you in this particular area. I am going to ask about baby aspirin before I take it next time. They gave me a real coffee rather than decaf at the shop a couple of weeks ago and I nearly hit the ceiling. Now trying to do without the decaf too. I find chocolate the hardest thing to give up - but I am keeping a bag of nuts and seeds with me all the time and turning to that if I need a snack.....not the same though  You can get the Zita book on Amazon for less that £10 - so like $18.

Em - I am with Dania - I want to hear all about your birthday party. Image Hope that you had a terrific time after all the effort that you & dh put in

Dh and I have booked a last minute holiday and are off to Antigua next Saturday. We had not made any plans due to tmt. But then we figured that we could get away before my lap and the rest would put me in better shape for the next attempt. Means that we will have some 'nice' time together. I am so excited. I must be doing better as I went around to some very good friends yesterday. She has an 8 year old daughter, then endured 3 miscarriages and then has a 10 week old baby. We had seen her when she was very small and I was in the first tmt cycle but not since the negative. I held her and I did not cry even when I got home. I tried to focus on how hard it had been for them to get her & think that if we did the same then may be we would be as fortunate. She was adorable. The mum had acupuncture and chinese herbs before she got pregnant (which she had never done before) and she felt that it made all the difference for her. She is a midwife so I trust what she thinks. They are two of the few people who know about our treatment. She felt that a very helthy diet plus acupuncture was a great way to help me next time

Baby dust to everyone. Image

Em

We must have been posting at the same time.

Great to hear from you!

Party & pressie sound terrific.

Success across all May testers thread was 38%. Guess that we have had some good results which were just in June so across this thread would guess that it is up above 40%.

Thats about the rates they quoted me at the Clinic for IVF patients. Not bad. It must mean that it'll be our turn soon.

Success rates vary a lot by age. Quite a lot worse for me due to my age. For me, more like 25% as I stimmied well but could have been as low as 5% had I produced a very small number of eggs.

Will be better for you as your eggs are MUCH younger.

Oh sorry Carolyn. I didn't even think of that. I hope you don't think I was being insensitive. But still, 40% for us with all different age groups is good!
