Suzhan- From our perspective, what your "friend" did was dead wrong. How insensitive! From her perspective maybe she thought that it would be easier for you if she didn't include you in on her experience, but wanted you to know that she had given birth. Even still, she could have been supportive during your difficult time. I don't think that people understand what we are going through and how they should react to us. I had a similar situation with a "friend" who I hadn't spoken to in over a year, who got married, pregnant and just recently gave birth. Even though we hadn't spoken in awhile, I felt a sense of loyalty to her because we had been friends for almost 20 years and she was my maid of honor in my wedding. Needless to say, I ended what was left of our relationship so that I can have some closure. Are you going to respond to her emails?

I took my first PIO shot yesterday and directly after I hopped into the hot shower followed by 15 minutes on a heating pad. My booty is sore today, but not nearly as painful as it was back in August when I did nothing afterwards but lay down. Supposedly I am having my transfer tomorrow. MY prediction is that I will have 2 that survived and they will transfer both. I have an acupuncture treatment prior to going and then I go back after the transfer. Please wish me luck! I hope all is well with everyone. As always, take good care!

Suzhan, I'm sorry :( your ex-friend is very insensitive. Could it have been a mistake. Mass email like that means she clicked the "check all" button. I'm sure everyone in her address book got the email. Still, she should not have done that to you. Cheer up, soon you will be PG again. :)

Lola, how do you feel now? I still feel the same, everything is pretty mild though. Sometimes I think what I feel is something else, like AF coming or prog., sometimes I think I am PG. Back and forth, back and forth... It's torture! Tomorrow my clinic does an HCG test with my BW. They won't tell me until my actual PG test on Sunday, if it's Neg or Pos. I will be able to tell though if the results are bad, they will use a sad tone and stop my PIOs if there is no HCG. I'm starting to get anxious because of the test tomorrow. I bought 5 HPTs and I plan to use one each day, just to see what they tell me. I don't really trust them at this point. I'm sure they are not strong enough. I have heard of people getting a neg HPT and a pos BT in the same day. I think I'm just too obsessed.

I was wondering when you ladies stopped taking Flax seed oil? Remember, some of us were talking about it awhile back? I actually took it up until the day of ET. I stopped since, but I still take my fish oil (mercury removed, of course).

wannababy, Good luck with transfer. Sticky baby dust to you!

I stopped taking flax seed weeks ago. In fact, I bought some granola bars recently and discovered that it had flax seed. I designated that box for my DH.

Wannababy, Lola, Mia - Thanks so much for your support about my 'insensitive friend's email'. I haven't decided what to do about it - I'll probably just be the bigger person and send her a 'congraluations' response. But, part of me wants to just ignore it.

Mia - I posted a reply on the Nov'06 thread about your evil pee sticks   (hee hee....) I did 'em too, so I can't say a word - but like you say, just remember that they're not as good as the blood test from the doctor. I'm sending you all positive vibes for the next few days! I've cut way back on the flax seed oil ever since Lola's post a few weeks back. The Zita West book (and the Randine Lewis book) both support taking it all the way through but I'll probably stop after ER.

Wannababy - GOOD LUCK tomorrow! I truly hope you have some very strong embies to come back to you and am continuing to think all positive thoughts for you in the coming days. BTW, I love your PIO protocol - I think I'll definitely try it!

Lola - Your beta #'s look great - really strong! I think you're smart to keep it to your close family right now, but I think you're just fine! I'm so excited for you! I'm sure the next 2 weeks waiting for the ultrasound is going to be torture!

Tomorrow's my next us/bw. I've been feeling pretty exhausted today and yesterday too. I'm starting to get the full feeling in my abdomen, almost like there's water balloons in there. I know it's nowhere near what it will be like in a few days, but it seems almost early to be feeling this. Well, tomorrow morning, I'll know for sure what's going on 'in there'. I always look forward to the scan day - it's pretty cool to see all those follies all over the ovaries. Wish me luck!

Take care everyone,

- Suzhan

Mia and Wannababy,
I was not eating anything with flax seed until my ET and then I had it almost every day. They say it supports your lining for the embies to implant. Read this: http://72.14.253.104/search?q=cache:Eap ... =clnk&cd=1

Mia --- I had to take a nap today, my breasts are still sore and I have twingies in my belly, especially when I lay on the side. And I already have a small bump on my belly! My nurse told me it may still be from the stimulation, but I had a flat tummy on the day of the ET, so I don't know, I think my uterus is expanding or something. I just pray I get safely over with the first trimester. Mia, stay away from those HPTs, if you can. The blood test shows it much faster and you may be dissapointed for no reason. I am sorry that you don't trust your clinic, I wish you had a clinic like I do. Everybody there cares and I always see and talk to my doctor. I can email him and call him. I would never change my clinic. When I went for my second BW, the whole staff was giving me hugs including my doctor. I just want to thank him all the time.Good luck with your test tomorrow, I will be thinking of you! Lola

Lola, I'm sorry, I must have been writing frantically. I trust my RE, I don't trust the HPTs I bought. They are cheap ones I found online. They claim to be the earliest detecting HPT and used in hospitals, but I don't think it's true. Don't ask why I bought them. I guess I want to be able to tell DH good news (if it is) before he goes to work on Sun. I only paid $5.50 for all 5 hpts, no big deal.
I read that article about Phytoestrogens too. I think that's why I kept taking them for awhile. I stopped on ET day cause I got scared. I will take them again, especially since you are taking them and are BFP. :) I'm sure it has helped. I don't think it could do any harm. Plus the EFA is really good for the baby's developing brain. I wish I had not stopped now.

Good luck with your scan suzhan!

Well I already took one of the tests. Of course it's neg. I don't know why I bothered. It's not going to detect anything this early. I promise to stay optimistic until I get my "real" test results.

Hi ladies....

I got some kinda of disappointing news today during my scan. Somehow, I've 'lost' two follies between Monday and today. My RE could only find 5 follies on one side and 4 on the other. They were 16-17 mm. I wonder how you lose 2 follies in 4 days? I wish I would have asked, but I never think of these questions until I'm long gone from the office.

I'm waiting for a call from the nurse as to when my trigger will be. It's either tonight (if the E2 is high enough) or Saturday (if E2 isn't high enough today) - they don't do triggers on Friday night because they don't want to do ER on Sundays (they're closed). Does that seem wrong to anyone?

The only good news was that he was really happy with the uterine lining - over 13 mm - I guess that's good.

So, trying to maintain the pma, but am feeling a bit disappointed. I got 13-14 eggs in both of my prior cycles, but usually only end up with 5-6 embies, so I'm figuring with only 9 follies, I'm probably down to 7 or 8 egg and 3-4 embies. I guess by lowering my dosage of stims so much, I've avoided the high E-2 from my second cycle, but I've really gotten a much lower number of follies. Well, I can only hope they're good ones.

Wannababy - If you can, let us know how the ET went today - I'm thinking about you and hoping those embies are snuggling right in!

Hi Ladies - I hope everyone is doing well.

Lola - CONGRATULATIONS!!! I am so happy for you. Your beta numbers look great and the twinges, sore breasts and tiredness are all good things. I am glad that you are happy with your clinic and I think it is great that everyone there seems so supportive. Here is to a nice, relaxing and very happy 9 months.

Mia - I know you can do it, the 19th isn't too far away (although I am sure to you it seems like an eternity). Even if you do take all five HPTs and they all turn out negative, don't abide by them. Just wait until the bloodtest and go from there. I hope you are keeping calm and staying relaxed.

Wannababy - I hope your ET went well. Don't get discouraged by the number of eggs which fertilized, it is the quality that matters. The magic number is 1.

Suzhan - I am sorry to hear about what your 'friend' did. Either she just had no clue as to what she was doing (not realizing you were on the mass distribution) or she is insensitive. Don't let her get you down, you need to keep your spirits up. Also, don't get discouraged by the number of follicles. Either the ovary was turned and they couldn't see them or they were mistaken the previous time. Either way, the main thing is that you want fewer healthy eggs rather than a lot of not as healthy eggs.

I do think it is odd that your clinic is closed on Sundays. I can understand that a clinic is closed on Sunday for regular appointments but I would think that they would do retrievals and transfers on a Sunday. My clinic is open on Sundays for retrievals and transfers but I guess that is dependent upon the clinics.

You are almost to the ER and I am hoping for some nice healthy eggs and I hope that all fertilize into nice healthy embryos. Keep your chin up, we are all here for you.

Sticky baby dust to everyone.

Hopeful- You are testing soon! Do you feel pregnant? I know it's easier said than done, but stay away for HPT! Plus, I think it's too early. Hang in there!

Suzhan-No retrievals on Sunday? That's odd. I'm the same way, I don't think of questions until after the fact. Keep your head up. Let us know when you are taking the trigger shot.

Myhb- How are you? I know I said this before but I like that you check in here. Take care

My transfer went well. My prediction was wrong. I actually had 3 embies 2 were grade 8 and 1 was grade 9! They put them all back in. I had acupuncture before and after and I feel hopeful. The doctor who performed the transfer is one of the founders and I felt like I was in better hands than last time. He seemed to take his time and I am quite sure that he has a lot of experience in transfers. I have read that the experience of the doctor has a lot to do with a successful procedure. I'm taking it easy tonight and will be taking tomorrow off. I would like to lay low on Saturday but I have company coming. I will be trying to take it easy regardless.

I have to share this with you. When I got home from the transfer I check my voicemails. I kid you not, the first message I got was a 30 second recording from babies r us informing me of a sale that they are having for our newborn baby! Could you believe it? I strongly believe that there is no such thing as a coincidence and believe that "coincidence" is God's way of communicating with us! I'm still in shock that I got that voicemail!

I hope everything is well with all of you! Stay positive and take care! :)

wannabay, Congrats on ET! Here's to an easy breezy 2ww and sticky babies! I have my fingers crossed for you. :)

Hi myhb, it's good to hear from you. :)
I won't be doing the HPTs now. I know I'm not PG. I did my day 7 BT and they stopped my PIOs after getting the results. I know they test for HCG on 7dpt. Last Aug. they stopped my PIOs on this day and my results were BFN on PG test day. Is there anyone that stopped PIOs this early and ended up BFP?

suzhan, that's good news about your linning and trigger shot. Not too much longer now. I know you'll get plenty of good embies. My fingers are crossed.

Hello ladies!

Myhb ---- let us know how you are doing! Thank you for all the support! Have you had another appointment with your clinic? I hope you can start your new cycle soon. :P

Suzhan ---- I don't think they always see them all. They were telling me that I had none in my right one and 5 in my left one, then they saw 15 and then 14. After that they actually retrieved 19. So I think it is hard to tell from the scans sometimes. Plus I am sure they will be good quality embies. Stay strong! My doctor also told me I should talk to my follies. He was smiling when he said that, but I did so and I talked to my embies too.

Wannababy --- I am glad everything went well today!!! You will be in my prayers! I think your clinic is grading embies differently, ha? Or did you mean 8 cell and 9 cell? Our clinic used ABC... ,mine were all 8cell grade B.

Mia ---- I hope you did not take another HPT. Please stay away. They are dangerous! The blood test will detect it much earlier anyway. The day is almost here!

I had to take a 2hour nap today, I guess the tiredness kicked in. I have board meeting with my charity in an hour and after that we are supposed to go out to dinner tonight with our friends - aonther couple and I don't know what to wear. I already have a tiny bump and don't feel like wearing something nice. I cannot believe I have a tummy this soon. Even my mother in law noticed. The couple is expecting - she is 4 months now. I cannot wait till my 1st trimester is over and we can tell them... it would be nice to have our babies couple months apart.

Well - nurse just called - E-2 is only 1556, so they've decided to wait a bit longer - I go back on Saturday for a final decision, they think hcg will be Saturday night and ER on Monday the 20th. Now, when I asked the nurse, "how will they do a 3-day transfer on Thursday, since it's Thanksgiving", she didn't have an answer. She said, oh, well maybe they'll push the ER to Tuesday instead and then the 3-day transfer would be Friday? That seems so random to me - isn't it important not to get the eggs too early or too late? And, to top it off, my prolactin is up again -- it's 31 (supposed to be below 25). Ugh! I know this process isn't black and white - so I'm trying to go with the flow, but I'll tell you, sometimes it feels so frustrating.

Thanks everyone for the positive thoughts on my 'disappearing follies'. I asked the nurse about that too - she said perhaps they were smaller and he didn't see and/or count them in the scan. She said continuing on my meds for a couple more days might help them grow bigger and/or more. Ah, well, the ups and downs of IVF.

Myhb - thanks so much for the pma - I know that it's quality not quantity. Thanks for reminding me :)

Lola - I can't believe you already have a bump - how cool! Take the time you need to rest while you can.

Mia - I still am holding out hope that perhaps them taking you off the PIOs is just 'protocol' - as long as they have you on the other meds, there's still hope. Moreover, maybe part of what they're testing is your P2 (progesterone) levels. Maybe they're high enough on their own and they don't want to overdo it? Who knows, but I think it's too early to think one way or the other.

Wannababy - I was so glad to see you post and hear things went so well. I too thought you meant 8-cell and 9-cell, which is terrific, so congrat's! The voice mail is very cool too - it must be a sign!

Thanks again, ladies - I don't know what I'd do without you guys. I always just feel better knowing I can 'chat' here with you all.

Take care,

- Suzhan
