Hi ladies,

I was cycling with alot of you on the Nov/Dec 2010 board and got pregnant with twins. Sadly I lost the twins in mid-January.
We just had an FET yesterday and I would like some thoughts:

Does everyone who gets a BFP after a FET ot ET get cramping? When we got pregnant w/ our twins I had lots of cramping right after our ET and for a few days after. But I've had no cramping at all since having my FET yesterday. I know it's early and I need to have PMA but I'm so worried this is a bad sign...

Congrats to all of you!!! I'm so happy for you!!!

Hi easley~ I am sorry to hear about your loss. I had wondered where you went. Nothing about this process is easy is it. We question everything. Every time I did my IVF I felt different. So it's safe to assume that you won't necessarily feel the same way every time, and that doesn't mean anything negative...for me each time I got pregnant. Sometimes I had cramping and sometimes nothing. Try not to stress, that is the worst thing for your PMA. Think happy thoughts, drink grape juice and eat pineapple. I hope you have a happy ending this time. :)

easley - so sorry for your lost. good luck on your FET. as far as the cramps go, things could be different since you didn't have to stim and go through ER. I had less cramps this cycle then i did all my other cycles in the 2ww. The only thing i could contribute it too is this time my donor went through all the real work. my cycle was compared to the same drugs and protocol as a FET.

Hi everyone! Gosh, this board moves so quick!! I have SOO much catching up to do but my classes are keeping me extremely busy! Thanks everyone for your sympathies.. unfortunately, the instructor did not change my grade :( So I'll just have to retake the class. And to think, I would've been done with my BSN next month! Argh! Just because of a silly mistake on my part. Oh well. Live and learn, I guess.

As for the baby situation. Bad news is that DH was found to be the carrier of a rare genetic mutation on his family's side. His niece has Shwachmann Diamond Syndrome (SDS). It's an autosomal recessive disorder.. both DH's sister and brother-in-law were carriers and unfortunately, his precious 5-year-old niece got the disorder. She's been struggling since the age of 2+ and is constantly in and out of the hospital.. it's a really sad case and the life expectancy is quite low. We're not sure how long she's going to be with us for :(, but we're always praying for the best. So.. we just found out that DH is a carrier. I just got my blood drawn today for genetic testing and will find out in the next 2-3 weeks if I am a carrier as well. I'm hoping to GOD that I'm not, especially since the condition is so rare. Otherwise we'll have to do an amnio.

Tomorrow is my NT scan. Really looking forward to seeing my angel on the screen. I can't believe I'm approaching 13 weeks by this Friday! Hopefully the nausea will calm down after that. I feel like I'm a bloodhound. I smell everything! and I have a LOT of aversions.

Okay, going to do some short personals from memory.. sorry if I miss you. In dire need of a nap..

Leora - my resting HR is in it's high 90's. When it's higher than that, it's usually when I'm not feeling so well, so I start drinking a ton of water to bring it down. Normal HR in adults is 60-100 bpm, so 90 is still normal. Especially with all this extra blood pumping, you're totally okay. Congrats on reaching the double digits! I was really excited to hit my 10 week mark, too.

Lou - Congrats on reaching your 2nd trimester! I've been wanting to tell you that the video that you posted of your baby a few weeks ago.. omg, absolutely adorable!! See how far behind I am.. really have to catch up! Oh, and so glad to hear all your measurements and numbers looked/sounded great! Yeah!

Amanda & Anna - Love your bump!

Easley - so sorry for your loss. I didn't have an FET, but my cramping did not start till latter half of the 2ww. Remember, every pregnancy is different. Just take it easy and try not to worry..

Waitingkay - Praying for you.. hope everything is okay!

Ryann - I remember you asking about the situation with my brother and my parents health. Thanks for thinking about me! I haven't talked to the brother since the incident. Went to the court last Friday to pick up the paperwork to fill out the restraining order. It's definitely tough, but have to do it. Baby safety first. My parents are hanging in there. Dad is still in his sling and taking some much-needed mandatory time off from work. Mom is in pain, but still working as hard as ever. Bless their hearts. I was thinking about you the other day.. did you find out what is going on with your heart? You must have received the results by now?

Margi - how are you feeling, twins' mama?? Still so happy and excited for you! When is the next U/S?

Mykel - Congrats and welcome!!

btw, I've been going baby books crazy. Borders is shutting down across the street and it seems like I'm there every other day these days. Last 4 days remaining though. The prices have dropped down to $1.99 for any book in the store! So today, I picked up a couple more books.. the pregnancy countdown book with "nine months of practical tips, useful advice, and uncensored truths" and a baby owner's starter kit. I love it!

Ashley-I will be keepng my fingers crossed that your blood work comes out fine. Thanks for checking on my heart. The results were that I'm tachycardic all day. I'm averaging 130-140bpm. I'm beginning to feel very faint and was in the hospital yesterday. OB wants me to be on a beta blocker and bedrest. I'm waiting to hear back from my cardiologist about the beta blocker. I read that it slows the babies' heart rate too and can cause low birth weight. I don't know if that is a chance I want to take, but I guess I also need a strong enough heart to carry them to term. I'm quite lost as to what I should do. DH is going to buy me a heart rate monitor tonight so I can keep an eye on it all day. We shall see what the cardiologist says.

Lou...if you read my above post to Ashley, do you have any input on atenolol? It's a category C. As our resident pharmacist I'd love to hear what you think! Thanks :)

Mellow - Hope you have wonderful news tomorrow and that Claire is growing well and strong!

Leora - yeay for double digits! Sorry you have been so sick :(

Annas - gorgeous pic!!!

Margi - good luck tomorrow at your US!

Ryann - so sorry about the heart condition, I was on beta blockers a long time ago (medical mistake -long story) it makes you really sluggish I hope you can figure all this out and your babies are nice and healthy and so are you!

Ashley - so sorry you have been so busy, I hope your dad and mom heal very fast. How scary about the genetic but your bean will be perfect!!! Have fun at your NT tomorrow!!! "Girlfriends guide to pregnancy is awesome too!

Easley it is good to see you here and hope you get a huge BFP!

Kay - ask for an US hope all is well!

Karin - hope your contractions are under control, how scary, wonderful to feel your boys kick and move, glad DD is being so great!

Karen- glad I am not the only one with the meltdowns!

Sonya - where are the Mexico pics?

AFM - everything is going well, trying to keep my GD in check and baby girl is moving and kicking like a champ! I can now see her move through my shirt and DH saw that today too! I can't wait until it is so obvious that DS can see it too! Other than that the pregnancy is going well. On a personal front I had a falling out with my mother and it is amazing the power moms have over daughters, yickes!!!

Here is a cute pic, it was on my bday (DH put a huge banner by the fireplace) and DS came to give the baby a belly toot ;) so he was making all those noises blowing air and our dog was very curious!

Hi girls I finally found some time to do personals :) Between having my 15 year old brother living with me and my 10 year old with a broken arm I have to admit I am overwhelmed. But I am hoping my mom will be back from her work assignment and then maybe she will help me out a bit instead of me helping her out...ugh sorry for venting but I am a bit tired. I never imagined how difficult it is having a kid with a broken arm....he can't shower by himself or dress himself or even carry a bowl of cereal and I can't wait for the cast to come off on May 4th...I am starting to feel like my belly is getting in the way of every chore...lol So anyways

Ryan I am so sorry about the tachycardia its terrible.... I usually have heart issues and have had to do the monitors since I was 14 and I can empathize. I have never had to do beta blockers though so I am no help there...I am sure your babies will be fine just try to rest as much as you can and drink lots water. Are you still working? can you go on bedrest sooner? I mean I understand about worrying about your students I worry about mine all the time but I have a great sub and I check in all the time but the rest has really helped me feel better and enjoy this pregnancy. Hope you feel better soon and we need to see an updated bump picture :)

Baby blue Great bump! and don't worry we understand how busy you must be with the move. take care of yourself

Ashley I am so sorry your instructor was not more understanding...its not fair but I understand the need for good grades so what can you do right? Please don't worry about the genetic test just try to visualize good news and I am sure your pregnancy will be fine...after all it is very rare condition. I am keeping you in my prayers and hope your parents heal really soon

Mellow I love your baby bump!! how are you feeling these days? I have had my first couple of BH contractions but of course they were 4 days apart so no worries...but I worry about you so please take care of yourself and those precious little girls. I know this week is a tough one for you so please know you are in my prayers. So when do we get an update on little Claire?

Margi where are you? how are things going with you? when is the next u/s?

Lou I love seeing the baby bump pics and I think on that last one I saw a bit of a baby bump :) how exciting you are finally in the second trimester!!! So when is the next ultrasound? and when do we get another peek at your little bean..by the way the video of your little one was just adorable

easley I am so sorry about your loss I wish you all the best with this FET

AFM moving right along....Had my pap smear yesterday so how the awful wait begins...for those of you who don't know I had cervical cancer 2 1/2 years ago so every 6 months I have to undergo a pap smear at Fox Chase Cancer center and then the wait for results for about 10 days to hear that God willing I am still in remission... So I went yesterday and as if its not bad enough being there and being reminded that I am not cured just in remission I hated how people looked at me and thought "oh poor pregnant girl with cancer" I couldn't wait to get out of there...so now I wait...

Other than that baby Paul is moving around and the belly is getting bigger so I am hoping everything stays ok...have my next cervix check tomorrow so hopefully all is still well

Jamila -- Congrats on baby Salima! Can't wait for the pics.

Mellow -- Gorgeous twin belly mama!

SD -- Yes... I can tell the difference in my waistline but I admit I look more like I had a big lunch than pregnant. Thanks for the shoe compliment too.

Leora -- Thanks... I really like those shoes too. And they're comfy too! HAHA... "dildo cam"... that's a new one! Funny. Congrats on growing healthy babies. How's the nausea? Noooo.... don't resort to smoking weed!!! Get a prescription for Zofran (Ondansetron) if you haven't already. Works great.

Karin -- Gosh, I'm so sorry. Your contractions sound scary. I'm so glad you got on Procardia. That should help a lot. What kind of test can tell if you're at risk for labor in 2 weeks? I've never heard of that. Take it easy hun.

Kay -- So sorry about your bleeding scare. I have a singleton too and remember I had a small SCH from 6.5-8.5 weeks. Thinking of you.

Annashope -- Wow! You look beautiful! Thanks for sharing. I love pics. I don't know when my next u/s will be. I have an OB appt on 4/29 but I'm seeing the nurse midwife at the practice and don't think she's going to do one. I have my Level II on 5/12, so I guess that will be it. Aw, so sorry about your sons arm. Must make daily activities a real hassle. May 4th will be here soon!

Easley -- So sorry for your loss. Some women can feel implantation. I felt it with both my BFP's. But it's subtle and I wasn't really sure. But most don't feel a thing. There's no way to tell if you're pregnant until you get a BFP unfortunately. Try to stay positive. It can happen!

HopeisallIhave -- I hope your genetic testing is negative so you don't have to worry about your baby. :( I'm glad you enjoyed the video I posted of my u/s. It makes me smile every time I watch it... which is about 100 times a day. LOL. Ooooohhh... I need to run over to Border's! We've got one closing too.

Rio -- Awww.... love love love the pic you posted. So sweet.

Baby_blu -- Wowsa! Now THAT's a pregnancy belly! How big are the boys in there?

Ryann -- I wouldn't take Atenolol during pregnancy. It's actually Category D. If you need a beta blocker, then I would go with metoprolol over atenolol. There are a lot more citings of fetal growth retardation with atenolol although both can cause it. Metoprolol is Category C. It's thought that if taken in the third trimester, then only placental weight is affected. Since beta blockers cross the placenta, the babies will be expected to have the same blood concentration as the mother and thus be affected too. With either medication, the babies need to be closely monitored for the first 48 hrs after birth for effects. How is your blood pressure? I'm thinking that maybe methyldopa (Aldomet) would be a better option for you. It's a known safe antihypertensive for pregnant women (Category B) but it will also reduce heart rate. I think it's definitely worth a try first. It does cross the placenta but studies show no adverse effects when taken after the first trimester.Good luck!

AFM -- I felt great yesterday and went to the gym after work and worked out for two hours! I did an hour of weights, shoulders, bi's, tri's, back, chest, squats, and lunges and then did an hour long spin class. Boy am I sore today!!!!! Maybe my fatigue is starting to resolve. I can only hope.

Thank you all so much for the feedback on the cramping! It was so nice to look through this thread and see how you are all doing with your pregnancies, you all look too cute with your bellies! Well I do have an update:

Okay, I am a HUGE POAS addict and normally have a large supply on hand but this time I hadn't purchased any. With my past 3 BFP I was able to get a very faint positive 11 days bebfore my peroid was due. So I started counting the days and realized my peroid is due in 9 days, so of course off I ran to the store to buy some tests. I POAS as soon as I got home and guess what?!?!
I got a very faint BFP!!!!! The 2nd light is faint but very much there!    Trying not to get TO excited because it's so early but I have never gotten a false BFP before so I am praying it's right!!! This of course will begin my daily POAS craziness!!! Praying all of your pregnancies are healthy and perfect!!!

Quick post--I promise to do more personals later....

Easley-congratulations!

Anna, Mellow, Stephanie, and Rio: I LOVE the bump photos!!!! Beautiful!!!! :D :D

AFM: I had another episode of bleeding on Monday--red gushing stuff, so I was quite worried again. Stayed in bed (more or less) until today's u/s but all is still well!! We are 8w today, and the twins are measuring 8w2d and 8w3d with heartrates of 163 and 169. I was so relieved. OB said if I get another bout of red bleeding to stay off my feet for 3-5 days (I think he said that long because he knows I have a stressful job). But, I will do it. Pray I don't have any more episodes, but the hematoma is still very visible on u/s. Just really happy the raspberries are doing well!! (That is the size they are at 8weeks!) Oh, and I have my sequential/NT screening set for 5/6/11.

Exhausted ladies. Going to take a nap and will catch up later. Take care everyone!!!!

Yes Anna, that would be fine! For best results take it religiously every 12 hrs.

Lou....Thanks for the info on the antenolol. We were pretty sure that I wasn't going to take it, but you put the period at the end of that sentence!

Just a quickie to post my 21 week belly. I am starting to feel like a whale. I know I'm really not that big yet, but I grew a TON since last week! They used to be so low and they finally filled in the upper part of my belly too!
