Nicole~ my first cycle of IVF, I had more eggs but the embryos were as good as quality. It's so hard to know what is best and is easy to second guess everything. I do that all the time.

Ninde~ 425 may put me over the edge. I can barely tolerate 250. I think I did 375 with my first cycle but I got OHSS so they keep me lower now.

Maria~ loved reading your first post. This IVF stuff is such an emotional roller coaster. It's crazy.

LYD~ oh my so cal buddy! I miss you and am very happy for you. I feel behind. I have thought about switching to your Dr (you see the guy in Ximed, right?) but my cycle w SD fertility was free so I have to take advantage of that. I really hope it works because my husband is over the ivf stuff. I will be super sad but am grateful that I have an amazing son.

LaurenN~ wow. 35. My donor had something like 20 eggs which only a few fertilized and none of them were good enough to transfer. I bet you'll end up with lots of great embryos! Are you genetically testing them on day 5?

Sunshine~ have you ever been diagnosed with endometriosis? I know that can cause excessive bleeding.

Madame- Yay for good U/S.

AFM~ Tonight will be day 4 of stims. I go for follicle check on Thursday. I'm bloated but overall OK. Hoping my mom is up in heaven trying to send me a little baby. I know this sounds crazy but right before my mom passed, my sister told her to go up to heaven and send me the two most spicy girls she could find. I don't know about the spicy part but boy would I love two little girls. I'm not picky though. Boys will do just fine.

We have hope – wow, that just made me cry. You are so right, but it’s so sad that for all of us this journey has been so hard, but I believe we all grow, learn patience, and if we can handle it, end up stronger in the long run. Sometimes when I reflect, I wonder how I’ve been so strong, how I’ve made so many tough decisions, and how I’ve truly had to make sacrifices and determine what is truly important. Thanks for sharing this.

Ninde – That sounds normal to me. 14mm is not too big. I only stimmed for 8 days each cycle, so after four days, mine were about 14mm as well. They grow 1-2 mm per day, so I would anticipate another 4 days for you! I think you are doing great and you’re right, it’s even better that they are all growing consistently!

Hopethisworks – Congrats! Are you going to find out the sex?

AFM: Thank you to everyone that wished me luck today. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate all of the support. It means the world to me! We had one perfect little baby measuring at 7w1day on the U/S! I was very very happy! HB is 130…thinking that could mean boy? Then, there was a second sac, that was not doing well and did not have a HB, so the second embryo did implant, measured at 5w6days, but then stopped growing. I’m so so very excited to have one perfect baby, but must admit that I’m grieving the loss of the second one. I feel like I should be only grateful, but it makes me sad that the second one tried to make it and didn’t succeed. I feel like each step of the way, there’s always a new challenge. Now, I’m so nervous for the one baby that we do have…what if that one stops! What happened to the other one? I just feel a little lost and confused. I know that so many of you have been through tough situations, so I’m looking for clarity. Anyone else go through this? Should I be even more nervous now? It’s hard to be excited for this now and I feel even further away from success…very confused.

Tiger- Oh hon I am so sorry about the loss of the twin. I wish I had words to take away the hurt and this level of anxiety. More then ever I wish we had answers- this journey is so hard but you must be kind to yourself. It could of even been something chromosomal wrong it's really hard to say but you have to stay hopeful for the other one who is strongly holding on. Maybe once you have some time to grieve you will be able to focus on this pregnancy going on right now but know I will keep praying because I have so much faith in this!

dys, Patricia and jayne- Thank you too for responding to my concern..Never been diagnosed with Endometriois my doctor thought for sure I had it but when they tested me sometime in 2010 everything he said looked textbook perfect. grrr I almost wish I had it so at least there would be a diagnosis but nope we are in the "unexplained category". Oh my clinic just called me back and said it's nothing that they get alarmed about, it could of been from last month build-up -ugh sorry I know that's TMI. Anyway I did get our next cycle penciled in for November 5th while I was on the phone. It's been a crappy year so I don't care what it takes, we must somehow cram one IVF in before New Year's Day and most likely it won't be the cycle but at least we can say we did try. Ok I have to get out of this mood right now and find some chocolate!

Sunshine- I had said that heavy bleeding like that used to be my normal and I do have severe endometriosis. However, there are many reasons for heavy bleeding. The ONLY way to diagnose endometriosis is through laparascopy. It must be visualized. Researchers are working to find ways to diagnose through saliva or blood but we aren't there yet. Sometimes it can be suspected via ultrasound if endometriomas are present or adhesions have caused the ovaries to stick together. Endometriosis is often a cause of "unexplained" infertility. If you do want more info about endo, you can go to www.endocenter.org. That is the parent website for the organization I lead in Seattle. I'm sorry you have so much bleeding. My understanding has been that you are bleeding too fast and it can't expel fast enough. It sits and coagulates and then comes out as a giant clot. Picture it like overfilling a funnel. Make sure you are getting extra iron in your diet.

Christy- the heavy bleeding can also be caused by Fibroids, My sister bleeds so heavy that she has to wear 2 pads at a time due to the fibroids... I am sure they will check you for that on November its something they can see through U/S I also have a fibroid and have heavy periods but my sisters are worse since she has more then one... Yah for penciling in your Nov appt

Kynlee- i just remembered they detected a fibriod last time I did an IUI sometime late October, so you nailed it that would explain the heavy bleeding.

Blue- Emdometriosis was ruled out when they did laproscopic surgery in 2010 and they did a dye test as well but that ensured both tubes are open.

christy - I have heavy bleeding like that.. I didn't before we started infertility treatments. It's very annoying because sometimes my periods will be really bad and then other months they won't be. seems i am never prepared for the bad ones and the feeling of gushing blood is just plain gross.



AFM - Little girl had a HB of 130 yesterday measuring 6w5d.. so one day behind but at this point that is no big deal. I have officially been released to my OB. This seems so surreal, I sometimes still don't believe i am pregnant. It took me 6 years last time and this time it only took one transfer.. seems way too easy. Still a long way to go.

Blue – How is being PUPO going? Are you doing bed rest? Glad your embie made it freeze!

Pocos- Did you find anything esle out about the counsyl testing? I think it tests you and DH for everything under the sun you can be a carrier of. When we did DE we found out my husband was a carrier of muscular dystrophy or spinal bifida I forget, but our donor could not be carrier of it as well. Sometimes there could be a gentic issue and that could explain why the cycle didn’t work. I know the testing is annoying, but hopefully it will help! Do you have any idea how long the results take to get back? I hope you can start again soon!

Nimde- Glad your not as dizzy! Quality over quantity is key! When is your next follie check?

Sunshine – When you talked to your boss did you tell her you wanted to cycle before November? I don’t know why your period is so heavy, I know they can differ month to month if you are not on any type of birth control to regulate hormones. Maybe it is a fibroid? Are you calling your clinic to tell them you’ve got a period? Maybe you can ask. I don’t know much about the anemic thing. Are you taking a pre-natal?

Jayne- Good luck tomorrow at your follie check, hope there are lots growing and at a nice rate!

Tiger- Sorry for the loss of your twin. I really can’t offer any type of info on this as I do not know much about it. The other baby sounds great measuring right on and with a great heart rate! Did the RE give you any type of information; do they think everything is going to be fine with the other baby? I think everything is going to be just fine! When do have your next u/s?

Kynlee- Good luck with your u/s today. Can’t wait to hear the news! So here is how they are taking me off my meds.

PIO - week 8 and 9 every other day. Week 10 and 11 only twice a week. Done by week 12

Estrace – Stay taking 3 in am 3 in pm until week 9. Week 9 and 10, 2 in am 2 in pm. Week 11 and 12, 1 am 1 pm. Week 12 1 a day. Done by week 13.

Tohavefun- Great news! When is your first OB app?

AFM – I am down to PIO every other day. Have my first OB app 8/27!!

Christy, I'm so glad to hear you had a lap and they were able to say no endo. I wouldn't wish this crap on anyone. My mom struggled with fibroids and dealt with serious heavy bleeding. I have a couple but they aren't near my lining so the dr didn't care.
