Tiger, like Kat said, everything happens for a reason. Maybe he was "removed" from the availability list because they found something out that made him ineligible..which makes it a good thing that you didn't use him.

Karian, how exciting! We need more surprise natural bfps! Yay!

Leora - so happy the hsg went well. I had very little pain and no spotting after, although I know some women say they have it. So glad everything looked good ~ I know that is sort of weird to say... when I had my lap my doctor showed me full color pics of my "inerds" and said "isn't that a beautiful ovary? you can see a follicle developing in it"... it looked like a chewed up gumball to me, but if he says its beautiful, I guess it is. I don't care about looks... just as long as it works!

AFM... I'm trying not to be bullied into POAS by you pushers! LOL 10 dpo and holding up.. even though Walmart is within walking distance! I'm sure AF will not leave me alone and be here right on time... but at least I have the ability to look forward to the IUI cycle, so hopefully that means I won't cry too much when she shows this time. All of my meds are in the refrigerator calling out to me everytime I open the door.... use us... we're your babymakers! BTW, I know with IVF they stim you with alot more meds, but with IUI, what is a typical starting dose? I am hoping I have enough to get me through.

Carol- I started with 75 units of Gonal-F on both my IUI cycles. Funny I got a better response with that low dose than the high doses for my IVF. (I think my body is getting used to it)

Carol - sorry about your headache! I also do personals at work, while I'm waiting for files to load! I try to focus on the fact that we are young and aren't willing to give up - one day we will be parents, one way or another (we are open to anything, adoption, surrogacy, donor sperm, etc). The day-to-day disappointments and jealousies are hard but I'm trying really hard to keep an eye on the bigger picture. The jealousy really kills me. I'm at an age where all of my friends are having kids. It's really really really hard. :(

Lou - no advice, I'm just so sad to hear that you are having a hard time of it. :(

Hope (Ashley) - 10 is great! 175 of Follistim is about what I take - I'm also young with PCO. I've always had just a few follicles measured the first few SnS, but I end up with about 15 eggs on ER day. 10 are big enough to measure, there are probably a few more growing just a step behind. Try to keep your hopes up!

Penny100/Darlene - 'beta' refers to the 'heta hCg' blood test, ie the pregnancy test. I just ask for so many details so I can keep the list accurate. That way, we can all keep track of each other better.

Katie - congrats on your beta falling so fast. I know it's hard, but my beta took a really long time to fall and that was incredibly difficult (about 9 weeks from D&C until beta was >5). I know that it's awful they don't test for these things until AFTER you have repeat loss. I wonder that if someone decided to check my cervix more often, if my twins would still be here. Sadly, these tests are expensive and rarely show a problem, so it's not 'worth it' until there is a reason to believe there is a problem. Some doctors won't do RPL panel of blood tests until after THREE losses.... I don't know what your results mean. Ask your RE (or Ghost)

Amanda 1979 - yay! Grow follies grow!

Tiger - Since my vacation, I've gotten angry at my cell phone! I stopped answering. I'm annoyed that people call me all day :) so I ignore them! They can leave a message and I'll take care of things on my own time. I don't need to be reachable all the time! ---- I'm soooo sorry your sperm donor no longer is there. What a hard decision to make in just a few days. I hope you figure it out!

Tammy - WELCOME BACK! I missed you hon. Your xmas pics of Zach on facebook were so cute! Greece was great! Let's get us BOTH started! I should start my stims around 2.1....

Karian - Congrats! That is so exciting!

Kynlee - counting down the days :) yay! if you start Lupron in 18 days - when is your projected ER/ET? I'm also getting excited to start the injections and SnS again! Weirdos, aren't we?

Margi - WELCOME BACK! YAYAYAYAY! SUCH EXCITING NEWS! I hope you find a great IVF clinic! I missed you so much!

Wannabeamum (Samantha) - broken arm? Ick! I'm sorry! I totally understand! How about dictating and making DH type a message for you? Heal up quickly!

Anton - I've added you to the list! Just a few more weeks until you get to start!

Anna - nice to see you! I really hope this will be the one too.... I'm starting to have a hard time believing. Even if I do get my BFP, I'm so worried about everything that can go wrong. I find it incredibly difficult to wrap the idea around my head that I could have a baby in November next year. Hopefully life will prove me wrong!

Kat - yeah, this board is moving fast! We have so many nice ladies on here! "Pipelle" is a type of endometrial biopsy (the name of the thingy they use to get the sample). For some reason, women who have an endometrial biopsy before an IVF cycle have a slightly higher pregnancy rate. Since we have no idea why I keep having failed cycles, we are trying everything we can. Even though I don't need an endometrial biopsy, we are doing it anyways, hoping to get a better pregnancy rate with the IVF. Weird, I know, but every little thing that might help...

Sherry (hotgreentea) - how did your suppression check go today?

AFM - nothing new to report. I got a hair cut today, but just a little bit. I'm waiting desperately to start my IVF. I have my endo biopsy on Monday morning then I stop my BCP next Saturday. Hopefully I'll start stimming on Feb 1 or 2! Seems so soon !yay!

Margi: I believe you may be in NC but we used IVF Floirda. We got pregnant at 38 and at 41 and they have the most amazing warm nurses.

cjinnc-for my iui i use 150iu. the doc says that is a lose dose to her. and that a high dose does not necessarily yield more or better follicles. so maybe Sweatpea that may be true for you. a low dose. but kat you are beyond that point now

Leora - loved the pics of you and DH, you could not be more adorable! Glad your HSG went well!

Tammy - welcome back! Did you chose a protocol?

Margi - woooo-hoooo for the blinkie queen being back, we all missed you!

Lou - that's a really tough decision and I would probably go for IVF because of the MF.

Tiger
- argh sorry your DS was no longer there! Tough to pick between the 2... I am sure you will pick the best!

CJinNC - be careful lots of POAS pushers here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sweetpea - are you going to POAS?

wannabeamum - sorry about your arm :( what kind of dogs?

CJinNC - Thank you so much for the reassurance. I really needed to hear that since I was not feeling too well at the time and your post really did make me feel better. :) When is AF due for you? A miracle baby sure would be nice, but like you said, don't lose hope because you have your IUI waiting for you, which will result in a BFP! Good luck!

Nwquiz - doing the AF dance for you!

Penny (Darlene) - Congrats on being PUPO! How exciting! Did I miss how many you got transferred and were they day3 or day5 transfer?

Lou - sounds like a tough decision to make. Of course it ultimately falls on you and DH to make that decision since you know your situation best, but if it were me, I would try the IVF route. Good luck with whatever you decide!

Katie - thanks for giving me hope on more follies. I'm not sure if I'm so lucky to grow more, but at least I know there is still hope. :) Great to hear your HCG number is down dramatically. Never had those tests done, but glad to hear they were negative. It's so irritating that the insurance companies don't approve of such preventative testing until it becomes "absolutely necessary". Rooting you on for your upcoming BFP!

Amanda - yay for the growing follies!

Tiger - thank you so much for those kind and encouraging words! My nurse thinks that I may stim for another 4-5 days or so. They increased my follistim by a 100 IU because my E2 levels were a bit lower than they'd like to see. I'm so sorry you feel rushed to pick out a DS! I'm with you on wanting to have the child look as much like DH as possible. I personally wouldn't get too caught up on the smarts but like your DH, my DH would probably disagree as well. However, I'd like to think that good parenting is where the children pick up most of their smarts from. Raising them in an intellectually stimulating environment can help immensely. Good luck with your decision!

Tammy - I'm one of the new girls, but briefly remember following you when I first joined. Glad to see you back at it and hoping for a BFP for you this time! Good luck at tomorrow's baseline!

Karian - SO happy to hear you got to hear a beautiful heartbeat! You must be over the moon! Congrats again!

Kynlee - thank you so much for the support! I'm trying to think more optimistically now :)

Margi - are you serious? That's amazing! Do insurance companies really consider infertility an "absolutely necessary" treatment? I've read otherwise and of course I completely disagree and DH is skeptical as well, but if your insurance company lifted your cap, that is just fantastic news! SO happy for you!!

Samantha - oh no! So sorry to hear about your arm! I was just thinking about you yesterday. Where are you at in your cycle at the present time? Hoping for a speedy recovery for you!

Anton - what is the antibodies shot for? Stimming is only a short while away for you!

Kat - how are you keeping yourself busy during the 2ww hell? Hope those test strips show up for you soon!

Leora - thanks for the encouraging words! I saw your Greece pics and looked like you had an amazing time! I hear you on the being depressed subject. I was put on antidepressants for a while, too, but hated the side effects, especially from Cymbalta. I had such a difficult time to wean myself off the drug as every time I tried to go cold turkey, I would get brain zaps. Oh, it was terrible and so glad those days are behind me. I was more depressed not being able to get off the drug than I was before I got on the drug. DH and I did some researching of our own (the senile doctor was no help), bought books to help guide us, and eventually succeeded in getting me off the drug. Still, by no means am I completely healed from my depression. I feel that the only thing that will make me happy at this point is to see those 2 lovely lines on a pregnancy test stick. But we're strong women; these depressive episodes will be past us in no time! Good luck to you, hon. Oh yeah, and good luck on your endo biopsy appointment on Monday. You'll be stimming in no time!

AFM - I talked with my nurse case manager yesterday evening and they're increasing my follistim to 275 IU from 175 IU. She said my E2 levels were at 90, and they'd like to see it around 150 around this time. She said most likely I'm going to end up with 10 follicles with hopefully a mature egg in each of them since I'm (relatively) young. She said the small one (measuring barely 4mm) probably won't even get a chance to catch up. I wonder how some people don't have a problem with having other follicles develop and catch up for ER and some do. What is the reason behind this? They changed my SnS date to this Friday followed by a pre-op appointment with my doctor. Pre-op.. sounds a bit too real now. The nurse thinks I'll be stimming for another 4-5 days with a projected retrieval date of 1/26. It's my SIL's birthday that day, so hopefully it'll be a lucky day for us. She's been rooting us on from day 1 to make her an aunt!

Tammy – I’M SO GLAD YOU’RE BACK! I’ve missed you too! Thanks for the advice. Good deal on getting on the DHEA. I’m really rooting for you this time! 2.1 is going to be here before you know it! Lots of love.

Karian – so good to hear from you and awesome news about the heartbeat!!! Congratulations my dear!

Katieb – thanks for your information. That’s amazing that you were able to adopt a little girl. I agree with you, I think nurture vs nature is huge! What is your daughter’s name?

Kynlee – still poking those needles! I know, isn’t it fun! When do you think your ER will be?

Margi – I am so so so very happy for you! If there is anything that I know all of us have learned, is follow your gut and explore all options. Just with the information you have shared, I would really look for another clinic. Sometimes a fresh perspective is important. Good luck my friend.

Wannabeamom- yikes! A broken arm? Not what you need at all! I am hoping for a speedy recovery for you!

Anton – that’s so exciting! You’ll be starting before you know it! Thank you for supporting me! I really appreciate it!

Kat – come on…when are you going to POAS? Just kidding 

CJinNJ- I’m doing a medicated cycle, but only with Femera and then with a trigger shot, so I’m not doing any other doses first. What is your protocol?

Hopeisall – good, I’m glad that they are watching you closely and increased your dose. Everything is going great for you, just hang in there! I can’t wait to hear how Friday goes and we’re both going to be busy on 1/26 and we’ll be in the 2WW together!

Ryann - where are you? Waiting for an update.

So, thank you to all of you that chimed in. I agree with all of you and it was interesting that everyone agreed to go with the one that looks more like DH. Well, we talked about it last night and this morning and we’re in agreement too. We’re going with the one that looks more like DH and that I just feel better about. I can’t put my finger on it, but I just feel differently about it. Today is day 3 of femera, 2 more days! Then, I have a SnS on 1/24 at 7:30am! Can’t wait to get back in there and see how everything is going! I am just so very hopeful that this is my time. PLEASE!

Lots of love to all of you!

Thank you all for your input. I really appreciate it.

I literally only have a minute because I'm so busy at work. DH and I decided to go forward with IVF. We expect to retrieve 2-5 eggs and have 2-4 mature. I'm optimistic as anything can happen.

My E2 was 849 today and my lining was 9.1. I'm to give one more dose of Follistim and Menopur now before triggering tonight.

Transfer will be Monday unless my a miracle I end up with a bunch more eggs than we think!

Lou-glad you made your decision. With my last cycle the day I triggered my E2 was only in the 600's and we got 5 mature eggs. :)

Tiger-Yay glad you got your SD picked.

If I don't get my test strips by Friday I will so go out and buy one in the store. I ordered 20 test strips;) plenty to POAS.

I've had the worste heartburn and acid reflux since starting the progesterone shots. It's so bad today. I hate the side effects of progesterone.

LOU - Image good luck triggering, when is your ER?

Hope Don't be discouraged at all! My first IVF I was showing 8 follies and ended up with 10, so more will pop up. I know we all want to have 100 follicles, 90 mature eggs and 50 embryos but it is not the case for most of us. It truly and honestly just takes one. THis could mean you don't get to go to 5 days and have to transfer at 3 but I want to give you encouragement, on my 1st IVF I had only 4 mature eggs and ended up with our son, IVF #3 I had 5 mature eggs and I am now pregnant. So I hope that this brings you great hope and PMA, you truly don't need huge numbers to get a healthy baby. PMA and sprinkling you with baby dust! Oh I wanted to add I had low E2 numbers too. I heard stimming for 10 to 13 days is the best! So looks like you are on track for those two lines!

Tiger - Our daughters name is Emilee - my husband was adopted so we always new we wanted to adopt - we were doing the adoption process while we were doing IUI & IVF the first time. It was quite a ride! But when we finally got approved by the state & federally released (background checks, not terrorists, etc....) it was the end of November 2008 and we brought Em home at two days old on January 2, 2009! We really thought that we would get pregnant first then adopt cause the waiting list was so long but that goes to show you anything can happen! Literally we waited for 2 weeks!

Margi - So happy you are back & your insurance co got their heads out of the butts! YAY!

Wannabeamum - UGH a broken arm? Well I guess that will keep you taking care of yourself through this whole process and keep you from trying to climb a mountain or something so your body can get all ready for being a mommy!

AFM - A few of you congratulated my on BETA falling so fast - I guess I never thought about it that way so thank you for that - I was more coming from the side of WOW I am really not pregnant anymore :-( and it was making me sad but I guess you are all right the faster it falls the faster I can get on with it and get on to my FET.

I have done something awful to my back I am in so much pain & can hardly function - UGH! Went to Acupuncture & Yoga Monday, Chiropractor & Massage Therapist yesterday, Yoga today and Massage Therapist again tomorrow & I am freaking out because my 10 days of ICK starts on Friday! The LA crew (20,000 of them) for the Sundance Film Festival are on there way & I work the entire time - money's great but not with a bad back! :-( UGH any thoughts

Any of you ever think of restricting Gluten in your diets? I am gluten intolerant already so for me it wouldn't matter but there are some pretty convincing studies out there that recommend that reducing or severely limiting your gluten intake can help with IF and/or MC. And when you reduce or eliminate gluten you drop some serious weight - I usually weighed between 160 to 170 pounds now I weight 135 - 140 - I am 5'10. My issue was my body could not break it down so it just hung around making me feel sick & sluggish & depressed - Within 2 weeks of elimination I felt great - Just a thought - it is a tough road & it took me some time to re-do my diet but it has been worth it for my overall well being :-)

Tammy and Margi...I am so excited for both of you! I can't wait to stalk and watch you BOTH get those BFP you so deserve!!!!

Tiger...I'm here...I'm just no fun to be around! I read every day, just don't post because I don't feel I have much to contribute :) I honestly think I am the most miserable pregnant person...and then I'm riddled with guilt because I want these babise so badly, how can I be so miserable??? I'm just sick all day and feeling like CRAP! Babies are both doing wonderful though! Thanks for checking on me!

Katieb - I know it is hard to wish your beta gets to zero soon, but having been in beta hell and ectopic, it took forever for my beta to get to zero and me to move on, so it is a good thing even if it feels weird! I thought about eliminating gluten but it just seems so hard to do... seems like everything has gluten! I am on a Dibetic diet now so my staple is this great bread with low carbs that I found... Fingers crossed for your FET!!!

Carol - I am with you. I am not for the POAS either. I'm too chicken! I'll wait until the 31st! :) That is if I make until the 31st.

Lou - Best of luck with your ER. Remember it only takes one! :)

Leora - Thanks for letting me know what BETA means. I figured that was what it was, but wasn't absolutely sure. I must admit I just had to look up POAS. Congrats on your HSG! I bet your glad it's over. I hated that test, except for it was good to know that everything was working as it should. :)

Hope is all I have - I transferred on day 3. We thought we only had 3, but then were pleasantly surprised when we went in for the tranfer to find out we had a 4th. My mother-in-law is convinced it will be that last one that will stick. I sure hope so. :)

The 31st is along way away! I am sure glad this sight is out here to help fill the time. :)

Wishing everyone here happy thoughts & BFPs!
