Hi guys... I think I'm almost officially here, so I thought I'd have a peek. Still suffering from all the first tri symptoms, hopefully those ease up some. There's a whole group of us that will be arriving shortly!

denise, welcome aboard. glad to have you :)

oh names.... i though i'd be crafty and pick the girl name and dh could pick the boy name. well, the girl was named in about 10 seconds. she is margaret anne (both family names). the boy is *blank* joseph. dh FINALLY admitted that he needs help! everybody gives us grief that we don't have a boy name yet. poor guy is just "the boy" whenever i talk about how development is coming along.

suggested names: connor, cole, gage, andrew, zachary

24 week scan is this friday!!! i can't wait to see how big the babies are, because i'm getting HUGE. it's hard to breathe the past few days because "the boy" is up so high. my lungs are fighting for space in my belly! :) maggie kicks me in the bladder still and any other lower organs she can find.

Hi all

Like Michelle I haven't been on for a while - thought I should say hi as well!! :D :D

Michelle - love the name Kady and I like astra for a middle name

I am 21 weeks tomorrow and we don't know the sex and so far have only "discussed" girls names (is that an omen :?: :!: ) I like Charlotte (Charlie for short) - he doesn't the discussion continues :!:

No 24 week appointment where we live - and my 20 week one was a bit of a disaster.

All is well with the baby but we didn't get to see a midwife just a useless doctor and I was really upset when I left the hospital. Anyway to get a long boring story short - mostly about me, tears and hormones :!: I went the next day and saw the MW at the doctors and felt much better - she said that we could come at 24 weeks for a check (no scan) if we wanted but other than that the next routine appointment is 28 weeks.

Maybe it is because of all the appointments that you go through with IVF but I have felt abonaned a bit by them and they seem to assume you know what to do next. Ah well all is ok now and we are going to Tenerifie 2 weeks on Friday which I am sooo looking forward to

Hi to anyone who remembers me - it has been a while and hi to the newly pregnant ladies

Julie

Great to hear from you and see that all is "growing" well - sorry you had to go through that disappointment.

Take care of yourself and enjoy that holiday - make the most of it being just you and DH ....

Have fun.

Hi ladies

I am finally here :D can't believe it..as Denise says theres, her, me and two others at the same stage coming over this week and a couple more following close behind and we are ALL jealous as hell of your moving bumps    how wonderful!!!

forgive me I am still the same bigJ can't type for toffee so you have to decipher some of my enthusiastic posts and wierd German word order (I am a brit, that's just local pollution   and cr*p german telly)

Hi MJichelle - so lovely to see you posting and happily pg after all you went through to get there. Sound like you have a footballer on board!! I like Belle too, lovely names you have found there...

Joy (and Smita) thanks for the water tips, nobody, but nobody has told me that, so thanks you are great....so glad Joy it was false alarm.

hi Julie - sorry about your 20 week scan, how disappointing. Bugger that you have to pay if you wnat extra ones, I know what you mean about it being a bit "sparse" after the IVF attention, I am lucky I am getting loads here, of course that is one of the reasons we live here in spite of the cr*p telly

KC - riot about the boyz name, typical huh? I like Marcus, but am also thinking about Frederick (family name, my great great uncles were twins, george Frederick and Frederick George hoot heh??), we needd to find names that work in Germany and UK as for example the Germans can't do "th" and they say J like a Y and it drives me mad being called July all the time just cos they can say it... or Yules instaed of Jules - I mean do I look like a Christmas Log NO  see what I mean??? I aheva lso chosen Margaret if it's a girl it was my favourite granny's name, her second name was May, that's also nice...um too early for names for me though...

Hey Denise - aren't we brave    8) had any good crashes in the snow lately??? I had to be pushed out the car park at the physio yesterday, riot trying to drive when I can twist my head round  at last we have thaw though went from -6 to +6 overnight so now we live in a swamp - the 4 dogs love it - so glad dh has to clean the flat now heh heh heh 8)

hey Brandy lovely to see you again too  I look pg already although I am not a plump lady, I am tall, so when I stand up it sticks out.. have been in maternity jeans since week 9 - H&M have a great range and dirt cheap like €25 a pair so I have been able to get a few things for an "imbetween stage" forget the open the top button stuff - no chance that was over long ago!!! You are so right though, it's just nice that people can see you are pg, and now I had the nuchal scan and saw sweetie so lively and huge I feel also personally ready to start to try and enjoy being pg instead of just worrying about it being taken away all the time.

dh was quite profound the other day, he came home with 2 baby magazines and I said, yeh but you never ead the books, and he said, no because that's themedical biut, I want to look forwrad to being a daddy now..how sweet  He cried at the nuchal scan btw

sorry if I missed anyone, love to all

biggest hugs

Hi Big J. Yup, still paranoid about driving. My mom is picking me up for my appt tomorrow. And DH is driving me home - just puts my mind at ease.

I'm excited about the next scan, still waiting until Feb 27, but time is flying. Can't believe we're 13 wks already!!

KC, I like the name Connor. We're starting to discuss names, but are nowhere close.

Frankly, still waiting for the pg glow - or is that what they call the sweaty brow and flushed cheeks after you lose your cookies?

I can't believe so many of our gals are already hitting the end of the third tri - these are gals who've gotten pg since when I first found this site - WOW!

Anyways, hope you all are well. No sign of movement yet, when did you guys start feeling it?

Hi Denise

yeh I got paranoid about driving in the snow too as there was loads of ice underneath and with the bad neck...and we couldn't afford new winter tires as I needed new summer tires anyway and for a Ford Galaxy thats loads of dosh so I've been on slicks all Winter  thank God we have the thaw. Glad you have the family taxi service :D

yeh - amazing to be 13 weeks OMG espcially as sweetie shows even bigger, blimey and you have 2 on board I keep forgetting that - you must have a big belly by now, I know I have. Also getting major "growing pains" again, stuffing down loads of magnesium and bananas. I am not blooming either, hair is lank, I am knackered just by filling the washing machine, and feel really pukey sick a lot again..look like a ball of chalk when I am not green..I wanmt to bloom PLEEEEZE ...still as long as sweetie is enjoying herself it's worth it

Anyone heard from Lavendar???????
Caroline you coming to join us over here too????

Big hugs

Hi BigJ and everyone else -
Here I am!

Thought I'd come over and join you now. I'm in maternity trousers now too - am actually quite shocked by the bump that's appeared... It's not obvious straight on, but from the side I look like I've swallowed a gala melon. I know it's showing now as my neighbour stopped to congratulate me yesterday, asking how far along I was, and then I went to help a woman who's pushchair had got stuck in a grating and she said "No dear - not in your condition" I think I blushed furiously, but was secretly very pleased!

Dh called me yesterday lunchbreak to tell me he had told a few people at work our good news - think that's a big deal for him because we've both been so worried about something going wrong. Anyway he's getting really excited now and so am I.

Hope you are all well with not too many symptoms hanging over from the first tri(for those who have only just 'come over') BigJ, is your neck getting any better yet?

Take care all,
love

Hi there

Mind if I join you ladies? I will be 14 weeks this coming Monday, so I guess that I am a 2nd trimester now!!

Caroline - How far along are you? I'm really not fitting any clothes, and a few weeks back I bought a pair of work trousers and a pair of jeans 2 sizes bigger than I would normally which just make me feel fatter and frumpier! Do I REALLY start buying maternity stuff at 13.5 weeks??? Please let me know.

When did you other venture into the world of maternity clothes? And...do you REALLY go for you pre-pregnancy size? That makes me giggle!

BigJ - Thanks for wondering about me! I'm doing fine (touch wood!). Experiencing lots of growing pains and queasiness seems to be fine providing I keep eating!! Hope you are blooming well.x

Lav

Well done on coming over - it's a really nice time during the 2nd Trimester, I hope you enjoy it.

I had to start wearing maternity clothes at 5 weeks

I'm usually an English size 8 and started showing really early on - typical when you're trying to keep it quiet ....

Don't worry about needing larger clothing, just go with it and remember that means that that baby is growing inside you and just needs a little more room.

Take care ladies and enjoy yourselves.

Yes, agreed - just go with it when you need to. I'm wearing maternity trousers now because it's really showing (at 13+4)- But I'm quite a tall narrow size 10 so I suppose it's not surprising. A couple of friends have lent me loads of their maternity clothing - most of it is too big right now, but it's nice to have some slightly longer tops to cover up the not-so-sexy elastic on the maternity jeans I've got! I also find I'm much bigger after eating, (as if my dinner is perched on top of everything else) so looser clothing is fab.

Don't buy clothing two sizes too big - it's only the bump growing, not the rest!!

Happy shopping,
Caroline xx

I have to admit, I did buy a pair of extra large mat jeans - but I figured with twins, by the end, I'll need something with lots of room, so we'll see.

I'm glad you guys are coming over around the same time. I'm just 13 wks, so I feel a little bit like a fraud, but honestly, everything I read puts second tri at a different week, so I figure I'm close enough.

Anyways, hope you all are starting to see the end of the queasies. I'm still fighting it, but at least now I have some days where I don't puke -yeah!

Just thought I would pop in and see how you are all getting on.

I hope that those of you who were suffering in the first few weeks are now blossoming and enjoying your pregnancies.

Look forward to reading your updates.

Take care
