Hello everyone,

Mellow - I was so sad to read the awful news about little Claire. I kept on reading your posts but was so positive things would work out fine. It is a vicious roller coaster, nobody deserves this and I feel that after going through treatment we could use our peace of mind. My prayers and thoughts are dedicated to you, your family, and little Marlo who will bring joy to you and your other children.

Everybody else - I now read all the beautiful messages and want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. You all give me a fuzzy feeling and it feels so safe to have you all sharing your stories and listening to mine. I'll post a belly pic once I have a belly that is pregnancy related and not treated ovaries related. You ALL look so beautiful!

Margi - Yes indeed we are very little time apart but when you said you'll be tracking me to see what's waiting for you, we still didn't know you were expecting two! So you'll probably give birth before I do, and will have to look for experiences from other twin moms. Congrats!!!

AFM - Today DH came back after a terrible week in which bleeding only stopped yesterday night. We had a scan (not vaginal anymore what a great experience for a first time mommy to be) and the baby measured right on track and so did the HB. The OB said he doesn't like the term threatened abortion, yet it was mentioned even if OB seemed calm and happy with our little one. Does any of you know if it means that even if I continue to carry safely to the end of my first even second trimester this threatened abortion can still cause problems? Cause I googled a research saying many later (than first trimester) issues can be related to first trimester bleeding that didn't end in a miscarriage.

Blessings to all and many thanks again,
K

Sonya - Love the bump! You're looking fabulous!!

Waitingkay - Glad to hear the bleeding has stopped and your LO looked good on the u/s. Phew!!

Leora - I'm so sorry the HG is getting really bad. I really wished it would have skipped right by you this time. I hope they can figure out a med cocktail that will help soon.

kjm - YAY for good initial NT results!! And how exciting if your prediction of boy/girl will be right!

mellow - How are you holding up? You've been on my mind a lot these last couple of days.

AFM, DH & I are heading to NY tomorrow to visit my family. They're throwing us a baby shower on Sunday so we're really excited to see everyone and celebrate the fact that Maribel is almost here. I hit 27 weeks yesterday so only 10-11 weeks to go!! My next doc appt is Tuesday so I'm looking forward to that too. Should be a good week coming up here. Oh, and only 7 more weeks until I leave my job for good, woo-hoo!! :D

I just weighed myself... Only up 9lbs :( It's not that I want to become obese but I'd feel better if I could get over the 10lb mark. My pre-pregnancy weight falls in the normal category and according to the weigh charts, I should be up about 14lbs by now. The docs assure me that Brooke is growing on time and ahead of schedule but I still worry. I eat and eat and eat but nothing changes. My mom had a 13lb total gain during her pregnancy with me but she has always been very, very thin (under 100lbs).

I just had a Level II ultrasound and Brooke is 3 days ahead and in fantastic health. I haven't been leaking fluid or had anything abnormal going on.

Does anyone know if my mother's pregnancy weight gain could be an indicator of what I can expect?

Experienced moms, what was your weight gain like about 29-30 weeks?

Should I worry?

Happy Bunny do not worry yourself. With my son who is not 10 yrs I only gained 12lb the entire pregnancy and he was born 9lb1oz and I am not super thin...I am normal so I think you are fine. As long as the baby is doing well and she is then don't worry

Ryann -- Adorable pic! You look absolutely fantastic!

Mellow -- Thinking of you. How is your family holding up?

KJM -- Glad your NT measurements were good. Did you get your b/w results yet? Can't wait to find out if your hunch on the boy/girl is right too!

Reenie -- Yes, we are HUGE tennis fans. Glad to see you are one too! Last year we even went to the French Open and the US Open. Way fun! Hope you're back in the gym soon. I know how anxious you must be if it's something you're used to doing regularly.

Leora -- I hope both babies are doing well and I have a feeling they are. How are you doing with the nausea? Are you trying to eat frequent small nutritious meals? I'll send you the damn Zofran if they won't prescribe it for you!!!!! I'm serious. I get it cheap and you can PayPal me for shipping. PM me if you need.

WaitingKay -- Glad your baby measured great at your u/s. Bleeding is scary. Hope it doesn't return.

Rio -- Yay for passing 24 weeks!

Sonya -- Have a great baby shower! How fun.

Barbara -- Don't worry about your weight gain if your baby is healthy. That's great news!

AFM -- I keep waiting for a bump to "pop" but I swear I haven't changed in the past 2-3 weeks. WTH? I'll let you guys be the judges. I'll have to post a 14 week pic this weekend.

Leora - I had my test at 13 weeks, 1day. From what I have read it can be done anytime between 11 weeks and 13 weeks6days. So you should be fine.

DandMe - great picture you look radiant.

K - I hope you you are doing better and pray for a healthy remaining pregnancy.

klinger13-Maribel is such a pretty name. Have a fun trip. Hope you get lots of great gifts at the baby shower.

Lou - They called today with the results. I did not get a 1 in whatever number like so many of you did. She just said that the screen was negative and I had a less than 2% chance of chromosomal problems. They will do the quad screen in a few weeks and call with those results. So I don't know what to think. I still don't think I will do the amnio - don't think it's results would change anything. As far as your bump - it will pop. Mine grew a lot for a couple of weeks, now seems to settle down again. But I do have two. I will have to post a picture soon.

Hope all have a great weekend!!!

Lou - about your bump - you probably have very strong abdominal muscles because you exercise a lot. So dont worry if you are not showing yet. also - it depends on how tall you are. tall people show later because they have more vertical room. i am 5'6' and didnt show for a long time. and in my 3rd trimester i was looking more like a 2nd trimester - that's vertical room for you :) i didnt mind - because my bump wasnt as protruding i was able to do spin class up to the day of my delivery. how crazy is that! i bet you will, too.

First of all -

Mellow - I am so so so so sorry to hear about your loss. Praying for you and your family and hoping that baby Marlo continues to thrive.

Ryann - So sorry to hear about your heart situation. I'm glad Lou helped you make a decision. However, I'm still worried about you. Take care of yourself and your precious little ones. btw, what a cute bump!

Rio - what an adorable pic! Glad your pregnancy is uneventful and you're taking care of your GD and self. :)

Stephanie - what an incredible bump! I'm always amazed at how you twin mamas are able to carry 2 babies! Looks uncomfortable, but oh, so damn cute!

Anna - thank you so much for your kind words. :) I'm sure everything will check out fine with you, my dear. Hoping and praying for you and your baby's health.

Lou - I have actually lost 5-6 lbs from my pre-pregnancy weight. It went down to 7.5 lbs up until last week, but it's slowly starting to creep up again. I finally had DH take a pic of me last night so I could put it in my "1st trimester" journal. Ha, I was only an hour away from reaching my 2nd trimester, which starts today, yippiiiee! I know some books say 14 weeks, but I say it's today, darnit, lol. I can definitely feel the hardness in the tummy and think I can feel the fundus. I feel chunkier, but no real "bump" yet.

Easley - congrats on your BFP!! :D

Margi - so sorry to hear you had another scare but so glad your lil raspberries are doing well! Rest up as much as you can! Good thing the weekend is here!

Gina - I hope you're resting it up!

KJM - thank you! So glad to hear your NT scan went well. A baby boy and baby girl would be just perfect! What great news.

Sonya - you look vibrant!!

Leora - So sorry to hear about your HG! I'd take up Lou's offer if I were you! Hope you are able to keep something down during this awful phase. Does your HG get better in the 2nd trimester from your past experience? I sure hope so!

WaitingKay - sorry, I do not have an answer to your question, but glad to hear your baby is right on track!

Nicole - Ms. MIA.. how are you doing? Hope your pregnancy is treating you well..

Amanda - hope you have a great time in NY and at your baby shower!! Sounds exciting!

Barbara - My sister told me that she knows friends who only gained 13 lbs throughout their pregnancy and gave birth to healthy babies. So don't worry, baby Brooke sounds like she's doing great!

AFM - Boy, do we have a lazy and a stubborn baby! The baby was very uncooperative during our NT scan. All he/she wanted to do was sleep on my uterine wall so the tech had a really difficult time doing the measurements. She had me turn to my sides several times and cough, but the baby would jump up just for a little bit and go back to his/her initial position. He/she would move the arms and legs, but not the back. But oh, it was so adorable! And this way, I got to see our baby for at least a half hour! In the end, the results came out to be low risk.. I think 1/1200 for Down's and 1/3000 (or so, I think?) for T18. Rest of the blood work came back normal, too. 2 more weeks till my OB appt. I hope I get to see the baby again during that visit. It's going to be with a new doc this time.. an actual doc, no more incompetent NPs. But grr.. the tech wouldn't allow us to videotape the ultrasound.. said it was their "policy". Whatever, DH still got a few shots of our baby on my camera phone. Not great quality, but it's something. We've recorded all our ultrasounds so far. We did get a DVD with a bunch of pictures from the scan which I have yet to look at. Maybe I can post one up soon..

And btw, I just reached my 13 week mark today!! Oh, so exciting! Still probably going to wait till week 14 or even 15 to announce our pregnancy to other friends and family members. I have to help throw my sister's baby shower at 15 weeks, so maybe I can come out in the open then. We'll see how long I can keep my mouth shut :P

Well our boys may be making an early appearance. I had been contracting pretty bad today, went to the bathroom and lost my mucous plug (tmi). I've been in L & D since 1:30 today, my FFN was positive and my contractions won't stop. And, I've had some fluid leaking out, yuck. So I guess this will be my new home for a while. Hoping the steroids will help their little lungs and that the terbutaline will buy us a couple more days.
I hope you're all doing well
