Kimberly, I used to have Aflac at my last job and was so sad to leave it. I had the ICU coverage which would have paid like $5k for each baby a day! that would have been nice! But I don't have it anymore and cant afford to have it by ourselves, it's alot more expensive per month with it being under my old job.

My appt went good, babies are comfy in there and my OB said he was sure I would have delivered by now with the way I was contracting. A and C are head down now for the 1st time so that may put some pressure on my cervix. It is getting shorter but its still 3 cm so it's still good. They are measuring all together at 4 lbs 4 oz, 4 lbs 6 oz and 4 lbs 4 oz. Fluid is still good and they are all moving around. So now it is just day by day, seeing if I make it to the next week! Can't believe it could be anytime now! My belly is measuring 43 weeks so I hope it is soon!! I can't believe my body is doing this, isn't it amazing?!

Are there any trip mommies still out there?! I feel like I am the only one! :)

Sorry to crash your thread triplet mommies!

But I just wanted to say good luck to Allison. I have been on your website a few times and I must say I am very happy for you and your dh and babies. I have a friend who delivered her triplets last January at 32 wks and 6days and they were all in the 3.5lbs range. She did very well throughout the pregnancy but very uncomfortable and actually miserable by the end of it. Her babies are turning 1 next month and they are just the cutest babies. I am so amazed how our bodies can transform and hold this much weight and I really shouldn't complain of what I'm going through when I know there are others who are going through so much in their pregnancies. So, good luck and my prayers are with you and your family!!! Take care!

We're expecting a girl and we're naming her Ava Madelyn. Like you, we can't wait to have her here but I am hoping and praying she stays put until she's good and ready to come out. I'm just thankful for each passing day and week that she's in there growing. I'm so excited for you though!!!! Any day for you now. Keep us updated...

Oh I love her name! I am so glad I got my 1 girl, that's all my DH wanted or all he said he could handle! He really did want a girl, she is going to be spoiled. Ours will be the 1st girl grandbaby on my side and the 1st grandbaby at all on DH side. So these kids are already spoiled!! HAHA
So do you have the nursery all done yet? That was fun to do. Our boys are set on clothes because I have gotten alot of hand me downs so that leaves all my money to go towards all her cute clothes! Yea!

Take care,
Allison

Hi Allison,

i actually logged on today just so i could check and see how you were doing ! You will see that once the triplets get to be about 2 months old, they sleep much less so you end up having much less time to yourself in between bottle feedings (which are still every 3 hours here ! ) . It seems that i always have at least 1 of the babies awake at all times, which makes it really hard to get stuff done! I'm so happy you got this far and that the babies are all good weights. 2 of my trips were in the 4-5 pound range and only stayed in NICU for 2-3 weeks (born at 33 weeks). So i'm sure your babies are going to do great ! Keep us posted ! I have to tell you that i found a new swing that just came out by Graco this week - it is called sweet peace (look at it on babies r us website under swings). It looks wonderful and all reviews are raving about it so i'm going to get it today. My trips seem to favor the swing over the bouncy seat and i only have one swing so far. The sweet peace is different from all the other swings, it mimics a mom rocking her baby. Read about it online and i suggest you get it before the babies come - i wish i had it from the begining.
Love,
Janine

allison,

I got the sweet peace swing last night and it is wonderful !!! My husband wants me to find out who invented it and send them a christmas card , haha. Each triplet that i put in it falls asleep so quickly and peacefully, even my 2 boys who have colic. You really need to get this swing !!

I noticed you haven't posted since last friday - guessing you may be in the hospital or delivered as you are as far along as i was when i delivered. Keeping you in my prayers ! If you delivered, i'm sure we won't here from you for a while as i did not check emails for the first month, but please post as soon as you can ! I'm anxious to hear how you and the babies are doing !

Rio, I transferred 2 embryos my 1st 3 cycles and got BFNs. Then we transferred 3 with a new Dr. and got trips!

Janice,
Nope I am still here!!
My appt went good Wed., cervix is actually better than last week at 3.8cm.
Babies are huge and dont want to go anywhere! A- 4 lbs 13 oz, B - 4 lbs 15 oz, and C - 4 lbs 14 oz. I am so glad they are doing well but since my arthritis is so bad they may schedule my c section at 34 weeks. I went back yesterday because they forgot to do the FFN test, it was -ive. I have been contracting every 5 min. and still am not dilated!! These babies are having a good ole time in there! I am so uncomfortable, whole body hurts from my arthritis but hoping I can get to next Friday which would be 34 weeks. Y'all have a Merry Christmas, maybe we will get a Christmas surprise but I doubt it!! HAHA Feels like I will be pregnant forever! :D

allison,
congrats on making it to 33 weeks ! The day i delivered i had started contracting that morning every 5 minutes but also was not dilated. I can't believe how big your babies are - i know i was uncomfortable and my biggest baby was 4 pounds, 9 ounces so i can't imagine how it must feel.
My FFN was also negative but they delivered me anyway because my platelet count was dropping fast from the pre-eclampsia. My friend delivered her trips at 34 weeks and they only had to stay in NICU for 9 days so hopefully you can bring your little angels home fast ! Good luck and merry christmas !!!! Maybe you'll deliver on my birthday (12/29) !!!

Hey Janice,

Yeah I hope I can make it 34 weeks but I am feeling so much pressure now. Baby A's head is right on my cervix and I can barely walk. Still can't believe I haven't dilated or water hasn't broken yet with all that pressure. But that is good...just hope this week goes by fast! 12/29 sounds good to me!!!
Question: I have been reading alot about RSV, what precautions did you take when you brought your babies home? I have 2 nephews that cant wait to see them but all I have read is to not let kids around the babies until they get older or after April when RSV season is over. I haven't even thought about this, just thought anyone could come over and help out. Now I am thinking about all this stuff...not taking them to church, washing hands, sanitizing the house. Just wondering what you did and if your babies got sick at all because of someone coming over?

Thanks,
Allison

Hi Allison,

I haven't let anyone who wasn't immediate family over to see the babies and i don't plan on it until the spring. The only people who've seen the babies are our parents/siblings and our grandparents. These are also all the people who help me when my husband is at work. For their christening, we requested that the church allow us to do a private one instead of the group one so that the babies wouldn't be around a lot of people, and then we only invited our immediate family and had everyone back at our house afterwards for a dinner.
My husband came home with a cold one day and before i knew it, all 3 babies were sick, 2 of them had to be on nebulizers and almost got hospitalized. It took me 3 weeks to get that cold out of my house. Trust me, it is not worth letting little kids, friends, neighbors, extended family over because those few weeks were so stressful - had to take them to the doctor every day for 2 weeks and nebulizers for 2 weeks and suctioning around the clock. If they end up in the hospital it is worse because hospitals are full of germs. Unfortunately, my in laws aren't very understanding about this and they are not happy about it but too bad ! Don't let anyone make you feel bad or guilty - these are your babies that you had to work very hard to get pregnant with and stay pregnant with as long as possible. And now you'll have to work very hard to keep them healthy. Try to get your insurance to authorize RSV shots for them. It is very frustrating because we are so anxious and excited to introduce our triplets to all our friends, family etc. but we know it is for the best. I use to work in a NICU and this is what we told families to do all the time when they had premature babies born in the winter. And it is worse for multiples because when one gets sick , they all get sick ! So how are you doing this week - any scheduled c-section day yet?? I remember how much pressure i felt those last few weeks - i literally went numb after sitting up in bed for just a few minutes. But you are almost there and these last few days are so worth it !!!

Ok that's what I thought...everyone else is going to have to wait. I feel bad but I gotta do all I can to keep them from getting sick. DH is already starting to take vitamins to build up his immune system and he'll change his clothes when he gets home. He is usually good about not getting sick so we'll just have to hope and pray about that one.
Our church does a dedication in front of the whole church, I know everyone cant wait for that but we'll have to wait til after April to do that. Or leave right afterwards so they aren't exposed too long.
Everyone is just going to have to understand, I don't care if they think we are going overboard.
I am sorry you had such a hard time with them getting sick...poor babies!
I read that if the babies are over 34 weeks insurance doesn't cover the RSV shots but hopefully mine does.
Since everything is going good, no problems with babies and cervix is closed OB won't schedule me yet! I see him on Friday. If the babies are measuring way over 5 lbs I am going to harass him so bad. DH is coming with me so we can gang up on him! I went up there today because my feet are pretty swollen, but my BP is ok and no protein in urine so he told me just to keep them up. I thought this might do it but nope! :)
I really want to keep them in there for longer, it is just so hard! But it will be worth it!
