Hi Everyone-
Jayne- glad to hear from you again. How are things going?

Vicky- Hang in there. I don't know what you are doing to pass time but if you haven't read the book "The Girlfriends Guide to Pregnancy" it's good for a laugh and of course full of good info. Send your DH to the library or bookstore to get it.

Shantell- Glad to hear you have a scan coming up. Mine is Monday and I can't wait. However, it's my last appt at the IVF clinic. Kind of sad but exciting. I'll be glad to stop the progesterone shots I have till dec 5th!

Angie and Vicky- I know what you mean about tiredness and queasiness. I get a little queasy sometimes after I eat but nothing extreme. So far we're lucky not to have the ms.

I hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Kim.... good luck with your scan today!!! About that book that you mentioned, I read the review on the past, but I didn't buy it because it said that if you didn't want to hear someone complain about pg then don't buy it, is it really like that?, I mean, after all we've been through to me pg is the best thing on earth, so since you read it and we are on the same page, do you really recommend it?, tell me a bit more about it.

Angie....thanks for asking, yes, fortunately my DH and my SIL(she is visiting us, poor thing  ) are helping a lot, they do the house chores and all that for me.

Shantell....how are you feeling?

This "real world" thing is killing me!!, I mean, going to a normal OB/Gyn that won't do weekly scans, I am not sure I can continue coping with myself (imagine poor DH  ) without a scan STAT!!!! . No, really, I am already thinking all the things that I will tell my OB on my first visit to scare her into doing a scan......I know, bad girl!!!!!

Hey everyone, thought I would officialy come over and join the thread. We just had our second beta come back at 823, thats 13 days past transfer.. I was shocked since our first one on Thursday was 100. I was looking for it to come back at around 400 given the 48 hour doubling data. Our first u/s is set for 12/04/07.

BTW for those who dont know...This is DH, not DW. :D

Hi Everyone-

I had my 2nd scan today and everything went great! The heartbeats are good and they are both good sized! We graduated from our Ivf clinic today and will see our new OB dr Moday.

Vicky- I really liked the book and didn't think it was about someone complaining. There were parts I thought were funny. It's very candid and tells you straight forward what to expect. Also what to expect when you go to the hospital and what to bring for example...little snacks and water b/c you only get fed and drinks when its meal time. I never would've thought of that plus bring your own pillow b/c hospital ones are flat and tons of socks not only to keep your feet warm but b/c after birth they will be bloody even after the fact when everything is draining out. I thought it was really informative and only took a couple days to read it. I highly reccomend it b/c it's not a "manual" but more easy reading written by g/fs. They do carry it at the library which is where I got mine so you don't have to spend the money.

Vickers- Welcome! Glad to have a dad aboard.

I hope everyone is doing well. I fine but hungry which means its dinner time. Take care, Kimberli

Vicky- Thanks for the congrats.

Hey whats everyone's thoughts on soda? I know not to drink caffeinated drinks, but what about non caffeinated like sprite or 7-up? I'm dying for a soda but not sure if I should.

hi Kimberli - i don't think the occasional one will hurt - I had some lemonade the other day - I was hot and thirsty and needed a sugar hit. And I had half a can of diet coke too - again as long as it's in moderation it can't really hurt. I'm not touching coffee - I have really gone off it so no problem there! Today i had a beautiful iced chocoate (with ice cream)- mmm! There's only so much water I can drink!

New July DD

Post by Hope644 »

Hi Everyone- I've been reading your thread for a few days now. I'm new to message boards of any kind, but really wanted to join you guys. It's nice to hear from others similar to you. :D

We're at 6w1d as of today (DD 07-14-08 ). This is my 2nd IVF & 1st pregnancy. I think we had our betas a little later than some (1st-18 days post transfer). My dr was pleased with the numbers, 521 (d18), 1744 (d21) and 3057 (d23) - but the week since the last test has been LONG. My nurse said some ppl experience pretty heavy cramping. I've had a little, but not too much. I just wonder what every little movement or pain is... but I do have good signs, nausea, waves of dizziness.

We go in for our 1st U/S tomorrow am. I'm a little nervous, but hopeful.

Best wishes to all of you! What a Thanksgiving we're going to have!

Welcome Hope!!Nice to have you here!!!. Good luck tomorrow with your scan, let us know how it goes!!!!.

Kim (hope you don't mind me shortening your name  , I am kind of lazy  ), about the sodas, I think that as long as you take them with moderation you should be ok. Make sure it is caffeine free. But if you are concerned then just drink natural juices and water.

Talking about that, I have a horrible heartburn, and I dont' know what to drink anymore, water makes me feel queasy, lemonade gives me more heartburn and bloating, so I am running out of ideas, any ideas you guys?????

Hey ladies, I have a question. I was looking at the numbers in betabase and it show so many days past ovulation. Do you consider ovulation the day of the trigger or the day of retrieval. I would think retrieval because thats when fertlization takes place, but I wanted to be sure.

Thanks!

Hi Everyone,

Welcome vickers, sound good numbers to me, could well be more than 1, roll on the scan.

Hope welcome to the thread and good luck tomorrow with your scan.

kimberli, i have the odd lemonade, i am drinking lemon with hot water first thing on a morning, then mainly water, sometimes with lemon squash in, staying away from caffeine and luckily for me i don't drink many sodas anyway but i'm sure they are fine.

Vicky, not moaning about no symptoms any more hey? soory your feeling queezy glad you've joined the club. Today is the first day i've felt a bit iffy just as i'm about to eat dinner, but managed ok once i got going. Hope your not going too crazy on the bed rest.

Angie, hows it going, are you feeling any worse? or coping ok at the moment.

As for me, doing ok. Waiting patiently for next monday and driving myself crazy with what if theres nothing there etc, i'm starting to freak out, and this 2 weeks is going so slowly.
On another note, was going to the hairdressers this afternoon, and the whole town area was being evacuated as someone had walked into the police station with 2 hand grenades. major drama for our small sleepy town, the traffic was chaos. All ok now though.

post soon, hugs to all, keep well.
