for those who were on estrogen patches how soon were you able to stop using the patches? Today I am 5 weeks and 4 days pregnant and the dr said I can stop the patches. My hcg came back at 2106 today and my ultrasound is next week. I'm so afraid I will miscarry again. Last time two says after I stopped the estrogen I started bleedig ad had a perigeatational hemorage not sure if it was related at all.
Thanks

Hi everyone,

Just had my third u/s this morning and every looks good.
My R/E said the little one's size is right on track and I am 7weeks3days.
Heartbeat is strong!!!!
He told me that when I go in next week for my next u/s to drink a big glass of orange juice just before my appt. and I will be able to see the little one jump all around!!!!
They will call me later today with the blood work numbers. I my huband is still giving me a 1cc shot of Progest. every morning. I think that will continue to week 12.

Doddo - I am thinking about you!!!! Everything is going to fine, just try to relax. We are all there with you in spirit.

How is everyone doing with the morning sickness. I may be sharing too much information but the only time I really get sick and gag is as soon as I get in the car and it starts to move. I keep boxes of tissues and bags now in my car and my husband's.

I want to hear how everyone is doing. Have a great day!!!!

Hi everyone! So I had my first u/s today and there is one healthy hearbeat! It was the greatest thing to see the little one and that he/she has a good heartbeat. My RE said everything looked within the normal range and I go back in 2 weeks. The only thing is, I've actually dropped a few pounds so they want me to really try and eat more regularly. This nausea gets the best of me some days.

Missmolly, congrats on your u/s. It's exciting huh?!

Doddo, I came off the estrogen patches after my 2nd beta test. It's been awhile but I haven't noticed any bad effects from coming off it. Did you mention your concerns to your RE?

Jerseygal, congrats on your 3rd u/s. Wow, you've had several already! I'll have to remember what you said about the o.j. and try that at my next appt.

Hi all! So sorry I have not been around. The nausea and constant tired feelings have really been wearing me down and out. It has been a struggle to make it through work some days.

Anyway, I tried to catch up on the posts before I get too far behind :)

daizyp: congrats on your heartbeat! It is so magical to see it! So glad to hear you are doing well. As for the progesterone ?: I asked my RE today about continuing and he is keeping me on until the end of the 1st trimester. Major drag--I am tired of shots.

kp2131: YEAH--TWINS! You must be so excited! Congrats! I am also thirsty ALL THE TIME.

wonderce: I saw you had your first u/s today--it does feel good to see the heartbeat :) All of our family now knows; however, we have not told everyone. I believe that when you are ready to share, that will be the perfect time.

bonnie: You are in my thoughts and prayers. I do hope all works out. Please take care of yourself and know you can always share with us.

much hope: Good luck with next week's u/s!

missmolly: I'm sure if the dr is confident the cyst will go away, it will and all will be just fine. Glad the rest of the u/s went perfect :) I can relate to the morning (all day) sickness.

doddo72: I'm still on estrace (by mouth) and will continue for at least the next two weeks. Asked the RE about it today and he wants it to continue. Didn't really give me a reason but just asked me to keep going. Did you talk to your dr about your previous incident? It might not have had any connection but it might make you feel better to know you have told all of your concerns.

JerseyGal: We are so close it's scary! I forget, when is your EDD? We are 07/10. Glad you had a great u/s today! I'm definitely trying the OJ trick for our next u/s!

As for us, we had our 3rd u/s today also. One heartbeat still going strong--162bpm. Our RE printed us the coolest pic today--he pointed out the head and little buds that will develop into the arms and legs. We also heard the heartbeat for the first time--that was totally cool.

I do have questions for the group. My RE gave me a scrip for Zofran for my constant nausea. He said to take one about 20 mins before a meal so I could at least enjoy the meal. Anyone else heard of this drug or have had it prescribed? I am trying to stay away from any non-essential drugs but I did reading on the drug and it certainly reads safe. Just wondering if anyone has any personal experience to share.

Also, has anyone else been given info on having a 1st trimester prenatal screening for down syndrome? Our nurse said he offers this test to everyone and it is completely voluntary. It involves an external u/s at around 12 weeks and a blood test. The info we have on it says the blood test is measuring the free beta and PAPP-A. Just wondering if anyone knows anymore about this also.

Thanks for any help and hope the rest of the week is great for everyone!

Hi Everyone! Happy Thanksgiving to all of you. We all have alot to be thankful for!
doddo72-RE told us to stop using estrogen patches after our last US we were 6w and once they saw the healthy hearts beat -they told us to stop the baby aspirin and estrogen patches and we will continue on progesterone suppositories until 10 or 12 weeks. I know you are scared because of the last time-but have faith in your RE and know they know what they are doing. We are scared too and I think it's natural given what we have all been through. This blog is so great for that so we can share with one another and be a sense of support. A friend told my DW yesterday-just keep breathing life into your world and it will happen :)

JerseyGal-my DW has the same thing happen-as soon as we get into the car in the morning-the nausea comes full force! i would say she has more "all day nausea" than just morning sickness. It comes at random times and gosh is she tired!

wonderce-congrats!! when you say you saw the healthy heartbeat-did you see the little flicker/flutter on the screen or were they able to get a count as well? They was both of our separate yolk sacs present very visibly and we could see the little flutters of strong heartbeats but the US tech was not able to trace the count-she said probably too early and hopefully next week at 7 weeks. did anyone else have his happen?

ayannelli-I am a physician assistant myself and zofran is completely safe during pregnancy! if it makes you feel better and more able to eat-take it. it will be worth it for you!

gina1234 welcome!!
much hope! good luck monday!!

Ayannelli, I can really relate to your nausea and tired symptoms. I've been having trouble eating and can't seem to ever feel rested. If I didn't have to go to work, I'd probably be napping all day. I guess the body and hormones are in overdrive! It sounds like KB2131 has confirmed that Zofran is safe, so I may look into it too if things don't get better. As for the pre-natal screening for Down's, DH and I were just talking about this last night and wondering if we should get any screening done. My doctor hasn't mentioned at this point, but I'd love to hear what everyone else has to say.

Jerseygal, I haven't had beta #'s since my 3rd b/w. They said that was it for me and just u/s from now on. I wonder why some continue to do b/w and others don't? Your #'s sound great though!

Hi Gina, glad to be on the same board with you again! It sounds like you're in for a wonderful birthday present next year. :D

MuchHope, good look at your u/s Monday. It really is exciting!

KB2131, yes this board is such a great place to share this wonderful experience. We did see the baby's heartbeat flutter, and they also captured the rate of 140. I really don't know the different first u/s heartrates, but the RE's nurse called today to confirm that everything looks great, so I feel at ease for now. It's still hard to completely let go of all fears that something could happen, but will enjoy this awesome feeling for all it's worth. I'm sure you and your DW will be able to get the heartrates at the 7-week u/s. When will that be again?

Hi everyone,

Hope that Thanksgiving was great!!!!!
With God's blessing lets all pray for an addition (or two or three) at the table next year.

I have a question for everyone..............................
Have any of you gotten a bloody nose at all????
Last few day it's happened to me. Nothing major and after holding my nose for a bit with a tissue or putting some ice on it, it stops.

Please let me know.

Thanks you

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. DH and I prepared a small feast. It was just the 2 of us this year, but I wanted to have a big meal like every other year. Unfortunately once it was all prepared, I could only eat a couple of things and have really been having a tough time finding anything to eat the past week or so. I even tried a big helping of turkey with gravy and almost gagged at the first bite. Food aversions anyone? I feel so guilty because all I can manage to eat lately is crackers and toast with maybe a little nutrition here and there. I've been on the pre-natal vitamins for 3 years so I know I've got that in my system, but wondering what I can try to eat/drink that my stomach will allow and will benefit my little peanut. I still need to try and find some of those sour apple candies and ginger pops.

Welcome Sara! Congratulations and glad to have you join us. Do you know when you'll have your first u/s?

JerseyGal, I can't say I've been having nosebleeds. I do notice a tiny amount when I blow my nose, but have always thought that was due to the heat running all night. Hope your's doesn't get too troublesome.

Bonnie, how are you?

Oh, I have another question. I think someone mentioned on another thread the possibility of seeing another sac after the 1st u/s. I guess there is a chance that they can miss one the first time. Has anyone else heard of this?

Hope everyone had a really terriffic Thanksgiving! We had a lovely time at one of our family's homes--able to visit with everyone and I did eat too much.

Welcome gina1234 and Sara30 :D
This is a great group of people to share experiences.

kb2131-thanks for the 411 on the Zofran. I do feel better if I have to take it. My constant nausea has taken a vaca for the last few days so I have not tried it yet. I have been having more "waves" throughout the day so it has been more tolerable.

wonderce-maybe your nausea will decide to vaca and give you a bit of a break. I called my RE about mine lessening (anything makes me nervous) and RE nurse said to be happy about it and that the coming and going is completely normal. I still have it in the AM and I eat a chewy granola bar. That seems to sit OK in my stomach. Maybe find a flavor that appeals to you.

Also, at our last u/s, our RE actually found a third embryo that implanted but did not seem to have gone much further than that. It was just a small spot on the u/s and if he hadn't said something, we would never have noticed it. So yes, others can implant and be missed. Our third was not seen until this most recent u/s.

much hope-luv your cool graphics!

bonnie-hope all is OK. you are in my thoughts.

jerseygal-I had one or two nosebleeds during my first pregnancy with my son. Started out of nowhere and ended quickly. I believe both in the first trimester.

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of this long holiday!
