Albany-
Lookin' good, girl! So cute! Beta shmeta, you are clearly coming along nicely! Speaking of which, I go in for my 3rd beta in about half an hour. Then the 4 hour wait till results come in  .

Rikirees-
Been thinking about you. Hoping you are able to relax, and I also hope you find that perfect solution soon :).

Caprice-
How are your headaches. A little caffeine each day is okay (1-2 cups)... maybe that will help??

Claud-
How are you feeling?

Gotta go get ready to leave for my blood test! *Jitters*

Hugs,
Shari xo

Question and Comments

Post by albany07 »

Me2009 - Hahaha, I don't know what is going on. Maybe trapped gas is a symptom or something, hahaha. No, on a more serious note - everything is moving along ok and probably not gas. I have no clue??? My due date is August 10th. DH and I don't know what to make of it and my mother in law thinks I am crazy. She said that women don't show until they are at least 3 months pregnant. I guess it's our little overachiever embie. Both that were transferred were 13 and 10 on day 3. Maybe they are just a little accelerated??? UhhOhhh, I hope I don't get the sickness! Do you have it all day, morning or night?

Ok. Here is the question for all girls on this board:
1) Did your RE wean you off the estrogen patch?
2) If so, did you have stretching feelings in the area where your uterus is located the next day?
3) If not, do you know when and how an RE decides when to wean off estrogen?

Good luck Shari! I will be sleeping, but looking forward to a great morning wake up beta message :D !

Albany,
Thanks for the beta good wishes! As far as estrogen, (and progesterone, for that matter!), I'm on none of it since I didn't actually do IVF this time (and feeling a little lost, to be honest  ). But as far as stretchy/pully feelings in the uterus area, I am feeling that. More at certain times than other times, but definitely a 'niggling' feeling down there.

Anyway, I am officially blood sucked for today. Will report back in a few hours.... (breeeeeathe)

Drum roll please... my third beta as of this morning is 2,093! That's almost triple what it was two days ago! Whew! I called the Women's Health Center (of my healthplan), and they told me I can come in today for an ultrasound to see if the pregnancy sac (not sure how to say it in english  ) is where it should be. So now I am nervous all over again, but REALLY glad and thankful that I am able to check today.

Hope you're all having a great day!

Shari xo

P.S. I've been eating really healthy the past few months in preparation for IVF. Today my nerves took over, and I had 2 jelly donuts and three chocolate Hanukka coins. Yikes! :o

ok your mother in law is crazy. My stomach is considerably larger then normal. I am taking my kids to Hawaii tomorrow for Christmas andi think I'm just going to tell anyone there that I don't know that I am 5 months along. I have already gained 6 pounds, my husband swears it's the ivf. I had the doc call me in some zofran incase I get sick down there.
As for estrogen. I begged my doc to take me off before I go mostly cause I wanted off the progestrone. He said he won't take me off til 7 weeks , that is when apparently the uterus starts it's own production. But if my ultrasound looks good on 12/23 then he said they don't wean me off I just stop. It all sounds crazy to me.

Shari YIPEE. I am very happy your numbers are rising. I have been reading some beta threads and some many ladies aren't so blessed.

Riki- any news? I am thinking about you. Sending you telepathic zanex.
Hope it works.

I have a beta tomorrow I am hoping it is rising. #1 10dp5dt 459 my next one should be really high cause it's been an entire week.

Hi Ladies-

Albany-I love your bump!! It is adorable and don't listen to your MIL!! Are you on the 2weekwait.com thread? I just joined but I can't seem to figure out how to make my profile with pictures and tickers and feel somewhat dumb!!! What is your name on that thread? I am still taking 4 pills of estrace and I will see what my numbers are this afternoon but I was never on the patches.

Sharishu-those numbers seem amazing!!!! GL with your U/S :P I'm feeling good but really nervous since I find out if my beta doubles in just a couple of hours and of course I always think the worse  I am having slight twinges and somewhat sore bb so hopefully I have some good news to share later today!!!

caprice-GL with your second beta!! So jealous you are going to Hawaii (my favorite place in the world!!)

AFM...will keep you updated once I hear from the RE :P

Caprice-
I chuckled when I read your post about telling people you're further along than you are. That's the beauty of being pregnant! Noone really knows what week you're in, and you're allowed to look as pregnant as you want- is anyone counting the months? I think not! You go be your happy pregnant self in Hawaii (so exciting!) and have a great holiday!

Actually, I'll tell you something funny apropos of your 'pregnancy white lie'... a friend of mine was in the grocery store, and as she attempted to lift her groceries into the cart, the cashier stopped her and said "It's okay, you shouldn't be lifting heavy things, I'll do it for you". Meanwhile, she wasn't even pregnant! Well, she took advantage of the situation and let the cashier lift all her heavy groceries for her- she even put her hand on her belly for effect :D ! Needless to say, she is a pretty funny lady :).

Claud-
Twinges are good! I have major twinges, and did last pregnancy too. Looking forward to hearing about your doubling beta numbers :).

Sooooooooooo, ladies, I am back from my U/S... They found the amniotic sac, and it is in my uterus where it belongs. Pheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeew! I have an appt. with a new ob this monday, hope he is good, because my old one (too far away since I moved last year) was so amazing, and very difficult to give up.

How is everyone else today?

Hugs,
Shari xo

Thanks so much! So good to hear from you! How is Ella? How are you? I always said 'I can't rely on a miracle', and I certainly never tried to. However, I am living proof that miracles do happen...

Hi ladies- I had to take a break for a few days, I spent the entire weekend crying and hysterical and scared. I am feeling a little better now.
Shari- Chag Sameach. I am praying for a Chanukah miracle over here- after all it is the holiday of miracles right?!?!?. The jelly doughnuts made me feel yucky last night when I had one.
I am hoping and praying for vanishing twin miracle here but I guess we will see of Friday. Congrats on a great third beta. I hope everything goes well and you see the sac.
Albany- very cute picture. Enjoy the bump. when is your u/s?
Me2009- as a PICU nurse you must see so many things. Nurses are my hero's, especially after taking such good care of my daughter in the NICU for 3.5 months.
Ok enough for now.

I am officially a pregnancy clothing expert!!! I think I did a great job and the sales ladies agreed!!! I got 2 shorts (white and khaki), 2 skirts (black and jean), 1 black capri pant, 1 long sleeve silk shirt, 2 cute chiffon shirts, 1 casual tight top with ruched sides (love this look) and the cutest chocolate brown sheer top with a crochet detail on top. Most of these items are from A Pea in the Pod and Mimi Maternity. Two of the tops are from Motherhood. I purchased all of this for $150 with 10% tax included!!!! If anyone has a Maternity Works Outlet around their house, I HIGHLY recommend it!!!!! The reason why I bought all this stuff in the first place is b/c dh and I are going to Panama for about 2.5 weeks in a week. I was horrified that none of my clothes will fit by that time. All of these will fit me during the summer of our pregnancy. They even have a velcro attached baby bump you put on under your clothes!!!!! It was so cute and cool to see what I will look like in a couple months.

Thanks for all your comment about the BUMP!!!!

Shari - What a relief. I love that they were sooooo prompt with you. It must have been sooooooo cool to see your little babybean!!!!! You made me crave so bad!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Did it have powdered sugar or sugar icing on top. What was inside (I love plum butter)? Were they homemade? Oooooo, I love when they just cooled down enough and are extra crispy. I was trying to talk dh into going out to get some, but he said it's toooo cold (14 degrees farenheit without the wind chill factor) and my mom was on his side. She said it was toooooo early for cravings  ! She's always on his side (I am a jealous only child, hehe).

Me2009 - I found a local grocery store that has the preservative free H1N1 injection. I am planning on going tomorrow. is there a certain time (weeks pregnant) when it is safe? Or can you go at any time? I am going to Panama next week, I know I am kinda late as it is (It takes about two weeks to kick in, right?) but better late than never I guess?

Awww Claud, Thanks!!! I am on twoweekwait.com
( http://www.twoweekwait.com/home/albany07 ) The site is pretty difficult to navigate and i have not figured out how to use it like most people!!!! I have seen some really cute pages but I can't seem to do it! I devoted a whole evening to it once and didn't get anywhere! Once you get to my page... add me as a friend please!!!!!!!!!! how is everything going? What was your estradiol # today? Are you still on the tablets or are they weaning you off? Do you know what they do?

Caprice - Hahahahahah, sooooo cool you are going to Hawaii!!!!!!!!! Where to? I love Maui. So far dh and I have been to Maui, Kauai and Oahu. I think our next will be Lanai or maybe back to Maui. Are you staying at a hotel or condo? We rented a condo last time and loved the freedom (laundry machine in unit, kitchen with dishwasher). On another note, I am glad I am not the only one. My U/S is on Friday, when is yours? Wow, what a beta #!@!!!! How many did you transfer? Did your RE mention maybe multiples?

Riki - still thinking about you. Have you talked to the Peri yet?

Wishing everyone a happy holiday season, let's all realize our blessings and the gift of having eachother!!!! Thank you all for being here, you all help me out with PMA sooooo much and I really appreciate every single one of you!

we are going to Maui. Some friends of ours go with us every year at this time to the grand wailea. It's nice but I am with you. We have a condo at hanalei bay on kauai once a year and that beats Maui hands down. My kids are way more comfortable on kauai. It will be a blast.
My 2nd beta is tomorrow and u/s is on dec 23rd. Can't wait. The nurses always say something about twins whenever I talk to them. I don't wanna think about it cause I don't wanna get excited about it if it is only a maybe. I had 2- 5 day blasts transfered. It would be so nice since we had nothing to freeze. I am just happy that I feel good.

Hey Albany-
Thanks for the congrats... I was quite happy to see little bean in there, although of course now I am nervous YET AGAIN because the 'niggling' is much milder than it was yesterday. It never ends, I remember from last time... *sigh*. Oh, and don't feel too bad about 'missing out' on the jelly doughnut (which had powdered sugar on it, but by the time I ate it, the sugar had melted into a glaze). Wasn't that good, and made me kinda nauseous, as it did Rikirees.

Rikirees-
Chag sameach to you as well! Do you speak hebrew btw? I'm hoping you get your Chanuka miracle... I just know it has to work out for you. I'll keep including you in my prayers...

Claud-
How was your beta result? I am also overanalyzing my symptoms, and sometimes they reassure me, and sometimes they make me nervous (particularly when they lessen). I do remember from last time, that happens. They come and go...

Gotta go! Cravin' a tuna melt, and the toaster just 'dinged'.

Hi Ladies,

I didn't have the best of news yesterday. My beta only jumped up to 189 from 137 so they are having me come back in tomorrow for more bloodwork. I have been trying not to freak out since it did rise but not the 66% they want it to :x

So I am hoping that tomorrow brings better news! Anyone heard of success with a slow rising beta?
