Merry Christmas everyone! And a Happy New Year if I don't post between now and then

Glad to see everyone is doing well and babies are progressing nicely. My next appointment is on the 28th, I'm thinking we'll discuss when I'll have my glucose testing at that time, but expecting (praying) for another good appointment with growing babies. I know they are definitely getting stronger cause the theme song in my belly for the last couple of weeks has been "Everybody was Kung Fu Fightinggggg. Yaaaaa!" Hehe. Basically jabs from every direction, letting me know all is well

Oh, and we finally made a few purchases, thank goodness. I told my husband and anyone that asked, that I did not need anything for Christmas, but the babies need plenty So, we bought the Twins Bassinet Play Yard, the car seats with extra bases (for both cars) and the My Brest-Friend nursing pillow. I'm excited

Justlikehannah what a gorgeous pictures you look lovely, your belly is big already i am aglad to see that the babies are letting you knows that they are fine and cosy. My little girl is doing the same thing she will sleep all day but when the night comes she will not let me sleep a full 3 or 4 hours every 2 hours she is up kiking and doing whatever, and now her kicks hurt.

Jamila20-Made it through the second leg of my flight with a few problems. We got caught up in the winter storm, and had several flights cancelled. It was stressful, but we finally found a flight. I'm done with long trips at this point.

JustLikeHannah-I've also noticed that my twins have also decided to show me who's boss in the past week or so. The kicks have gotten stronger. One morning I was reading the newspaper and had one of my elbows resting on my belly. One of them was kicking hard enough to cause my elbow to jump and shake the newspaper. They've started their early morning workouts-about 2am they have decided that that is the best time for their karate practice.

As for baby purchases, we still haven't done anything yet. We've gotten our registry started and we were hoping that the store we chose had the diaper trash can we wanted. They did but it was one of the smaller sizes, so I think we will buy it ourselves, hopefully on Amazon.

Reenie I am glad to see that you made it home safe and also that you are done flying. Congrat on your registry, so now you are waiting for your baby shower at least one thing is done. I did mine yesterday even though I am almost done with the shopping, but my friends want to do one for me so we will see about the date. Take care and take it easy.

Jamila - Thank you for the compliment on my picture. I've lucked out as a friend of mine from church is in the beginning stages of her photography interest and has offered to take my maternity pictures as part of a start to her profile. So the one I attached was a preliminary shoot we did, and we'll look to get some others in the next few weeks. Great for me again, because I can be very shy behind the camera, so it makes it a little better to have someone I know versus a stranger . Thankfully, though the babies are kicking up a storm at night, if I can at least get to sleep they don't wake me completely up. They may switch around, forcing me to change sides, or attack my bladder causing that sudden urgent to go feeling, but it's not every night. So, I'm trying to enjoy these last few weeks of semi-sleep-comfort Do you have a body pillow? That really helps me a lot.

Reenie - Welcome back! Yes, no more long trips... just hearing flights canceled stresses me out And yes, the kicks can be so strong and sudden they make my whole stomach jerk. I told my husband yesterday that I believe if one kicks or moves, it disturbs the other and they both start going at it. Cause I noticed that it'll start out as a few little jabs in my upper right stomach, then in about 5 mins it's vigorous in 3 - 5 different places... crazy and amazing all at the same time. But maybe this is a good thing and will help them be on the same schedule when they get here, right? lol

I really tried not to stress about not having anything purchased, but man, it was weighing heavy on me. I cannot stand to wait till the last minute on huge events (birthing twins is a huge event in my definition of huge events, lol). I even have my wonderful girlfriends from church planning my shower and they're on top of it. I supplied the invite list and they said all I needed to do was show up. I saw them passing out invitations this past week and was like, wow, that's what I'm talking about, hehe. Date is scheduled for 1/29. But I'm not convinced that folks at baby showers purchase the high dollar items, which are usually the ones you really need. My mom has been trying to convince me that often people will partner up with a few other folks and make a large purchase, ie cribs, but I just didn't want to place all my hope in that to find out I don't get the main items I need and have to rush and get everything, and put it all together. Needless to say, I didn't get the cribs and left them on the registry, which I'm fine with since I got the twins bassinet play yard they'll sleep in for the first couple of months in our room, anyways. *Inhale...Exhale*

I have my 24 week (though I'm two days early) appt in a few hours (yay!). Will update you ladies on the kiddos later. Take care!

Hi, Everyone. Hope you had a good holiday season. I couldn't make it to midnight on New Year's. I was asleep by 11!

The babies have become very active in the past couple of days, to the point where it's become slightly uncomfortable. My pregnancy guide mentioned that weeks 25-28 can be some of the most active. One of the twins has decided to plant herself right on my stomach. I feel full all the time and have to remind myself to eat most of the time!

Anyone having in Braxton-Hicks contractions?

Hi ladies!! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and was able to relax. I feel like I am getting HUGE. I don't go back to Doc for 2 weeks but I'm sure I gained a lot b/c when I went in Dec. I only gained 1.5 pounds since the day before Thanksgiving. I know that won't be the case this time. How are you all sleeping? All the sudden I am not sleeping very well. I wake up a lot and my back and hips are sore. I'm sure its only going to get worse. Reenie I am having BH quite often. I just try and drink some water and sit/lay down. Justlikehanna-Your pics are great!! How are you feeling these days?

Thanks Katie I'm feeling good, but am also having trouble sleeping. Not due to the babies however, but I'm all of a sudden a light sleeper and sensitive to all noises at night. My dh snoring is horrible, he coughs and moves every 5 mins. I have to assume this has always been the case and I'm just being disturbed by it, but ugh! Killing me. Sometimes it takes me about an hour to get back to sleep.

But other than that I'm doing and feeling pretty good. I have my glucose test Monday, which I'm not looking forward to. Question: ladies having twins, do you have ultrasounds every appointment? If so, does your insurance cover all of them? Im having to pay 10% each time, which is not incredibly bad, but definitely not an expense I planned for or am looking forward to as my appts get more often.

Katie glad to hear about you, so do do you know the weight of your babies yet? you are not the only i am having hard time sleeping right my hips and my legs hurt a lot. So how is your son doing we are almost there just few months, take it easy.


Reenie my baby is moving a lot too, which is good i think, but like you said the pregnancy mentioned it. Sorry about the baby sitting on your stomack, take it easy.

Justlikehannah How are doing and the baby doing? your baby shower is almost here.


AFM For the last last week i found myself loosing some weight again, I had put on 19 pounds, but i lost 3 pounds again i am having hard time eating again, i will mention it to my OB this wednesday on my appointment. Do you ladies know the weight of your babies yet? I am thinking to request 2 or 3 ultrasounds before my delivery to make sure the baby is growing. My belly is not that big, people kep telling me that i will have a small baby, because my belly looks small for 6 and half month pregnant, take care and take it easy i will try to post 1 of my recent picture. I will post the picture on my next post it was taken on 12/26/10

Hi Jamalia I hate to hear that your having a hard time eating. I get full really fast and tend to eat b/c I'm so darn hungry and then feel sick afterwards. Let me know what your doc says. Renee' I have not had an US since the day before thanksgiving. My last appoinment on Dec 20 was just the sugar test. I was surprised it came out good and I don't have to take the 3 hour test. I will have my next US in 2 weeks when I go back at 28 weeks. After that I will have to start going every 2 weeks. I know with 2 there will be more US then normal but I don't know exactly how many. I have not had to pay much just a few dollars for the blood work. My son Parker is doing well. He wants to meet them and play with them it's cute. I just tell him that they need more time to grow. It will def. be an adjustment. Have you all had any luck with names. I still have not decided and I feel like I don't have that much time.

That's sweet about your son wanting to play with them. My pre-teen daughter is one day interested, another day not... those lovely mood swings.

We are settled on first names: Judah and Sarai

We're (well I) at a stand still for middle names because my MIL wants to select them and ensure they are Nigerian names... I don't like the names only b/c I can barely pronounce them and I think the kids will have a hard time spelling and explaining them... so, after a couple of weeks being hounded about it, I told everyone to not talk to me about the middle names at all. I love their first names and am fine if they have no middle names at this point. We'll see as we get closer.

Jamila20-I understand your concern about weight gain. I weigh myself (I probably shouldn't do it) every Tuesday morning and this morning I had not put on any weight over the week. I've only put on 22 pounds in total and people keep telling me I'm tiny for carrying twins, but everyone is different.

Since I'm having twins, my OB uses ultrasound to find both heartbeats at each appointment (I don't pay extra for those). I have also been having monthly growth scans at the hospital. Because these appointments are staggered, someone has been looking at the twins every two weeks via US.

As for their weight, they were both around 1 pound 5 oz as of 12/16/10. I would assume they are bigger now. I'm feeling less kicking and much more squirming around, so I think things are getting a little tight in there. I have to pay some money out of pocket each time for the hospital scans as insurance doesn't cover all of it. I hadn't planned on that expense either, but it hasn't been too much. Expense for blood work has been negligible. After my next appointment, the OB wants to see me every two weeks and I will continue with the growth scans, where they will add a non-stress test, I think.

KatieG-I wish I could feel hungry. I don't even know what that feels like anymore. I haven't had much of an appetite since week 4 when morning/all day sickness started. Even after that phase, I still have a hard time find things I want to eat.

Katie I am glad to hear that your son is excited about his brothers, that is so sweet also it's a good thing that your mom is around to help. I feel the same way about the name we can't figure out the first name, but my hubby likes the middle name Jasmine me not so much we will see about that. Thank you for your support about my appetite I will let you after my appointment.

Justlikehannah Is your husband from Nigeria? it's interesting my neighbor whos is so nice to me is from Nigeria too, also I know lots of people from there, my parents are from West Africa too, but I was born and raise in France. I have been to my origine country which is Guinea many times, I also visited some African countries like Senegal, and Burkina Fasso. the names are beautifull, it's funny that your daughter has some moud swings about the babies I think she used to be the only princess no competion.


Reenie You know why I am concern it's hard to spend time thinking about what you want to eat, it's also stressfull to hear people telling you that you are going to have small baby. LIke you said I wish i could feel hungry and eat everything, talking about weighting yourself I weight myself every day and monitor my blood pressure also. Sorry that you have to pay for blood work and co-pay for the US, I don't have to pay for none of that, but I had to pay for all my IVF cycles because my insurance does not cover infertility.

Hey ladies I just got back from my OB appointment, he did measure my belly but i forgot to ask him the number he also said not to worry about my weight that it's normal for some people to gain and loose. He said to weight myself every week not every day, as i said yesterday i requested the U/S to know the baby weight, he gave me the ok now i have to figure out when should i do it, I am going to see him in 3 weeks then every 2 weeks. I hope you guys are doing ok.
