Nancy it is scary but that nurse's story does sound encouraging!

Riogirl - our puppy is a 10 month old beagle named Highspeed. What kind of puppy do you have? Our dog loves to get into EVERYTHING (this week he discovered that chewing up the roll of toilet paper was great fun, ugh) but then he gives us that look that melts our hearts!! :-) Going to try to upload a pic from a couple weeks ago and we'll see if it works.

Hello Everyone,

I am new to the board and glad I found it. I'm in the middle of my first IVF cycle. At the moment I am injecting medications and beginning on Monday I will have my first blood work to check levels. Here is my story. Twelve years ago I had a beautiful boy normal pregancy and delievery. He is now in 7th grade. Two years ago I had huge fibroid tumors in my uters. They were causing me to have heavy heavy peiods. I dealt with it as well as I could. Obgyn put on the pill and to try to reduce them but that did not work. I had an embolization and that did not work. Last year in Juliy I had to travel to Az to take my state exam (I live in TX), for my masters. Well on the way back to Tx I was hemmoraging. When I made it home I went straight to the ER. My Obgyn took them out the next day. I was relived, the bleeding stopped and I was feeling better. I was now having normal periods but I was still not able to get pregant. In December I married my fiance and we continued to try. I finally went to an RE at the inital vaginal ultrasound he revealed that I might have Ashermen's Syndrome. With further testing of Hsg we find out that it is not AS. The inside of the uterus is great. The outside is what is worrysome. Because of the turmos that were taken out, myomectomy, (don't know if it was done wrong, I never went back to see that obgyn) left like an indentation on the outer wall. Its been my RE's greatest concern. So he figured that if I did IVF and he is able to place the embroys in the right place it would work. So here we are doing all the injections and in the middle of the process. We are scared for disappointment and excited for good news. Only time will tell right now.

I am 33 and I have PCOS and my husband has anti sperm antibodies. I have done 1 fresh cycle and this will be our first FET and my frozen embryos are from a 3 day and all high quality. (but so were the 2 that we lost) Is a 5 day better for a transfer ? I understand that if we do transfer 3 there is a chance to get 2 or even all 3 and we are ok with that too. Of course I worry about the medical risks to the babies and myself but to have 2 or 3 all at once we would be happy with that. I just think that if we do 3 ... atleast we might get 1 ??? Is it true that the more transferred the better the chance of them staying ?

riogirl - your puppy is absolutely adorable!! We're hoping to add an older dog to the mix eventually. "Mature" dogs seem to have a calming effect on our pup and I'm sure he'd love a canine companion.

lauren1171 - definitely try to upload a pic of your dog so we can see! When you hit Post Reply, below the text area there is a tab that says Upload Attachment. You can then browse your PC for the pic and upload. You may have to size it down if you get the message that the file size is too large.

dvcantu7378 - Sorry you went through such an ordeal with those fibroids! Welcome to the thread and good luck with your cycle!! Do you have an estimated ER date?

Tammy - hope you have fun at the zoo today!

Had to jump in on dogs - klinger, we have an 8-year-old beagle named Spenser. They don't get less puppyish with age! God made beagles cute so we don't kill them when they [insert unspeakable act of wanton destruction/flagrant misbehavior here]. We also have a 3-year-old coon hound/lab mix Sophie we got 2 years ago after we had to put our pit bull mix down. He had prostate cancer. Including my IVF failures that was the single most painful thing I have had to do, have my best friend of 9 years die in my arms because I told somebody to kill him, even though I know it was the right decision. I just always thought he would be there when I had kids for him to play with. He loved kids. Spenser was so devastated with Murphey gone that it was literally a question of get another dog or put him on anxiety medication. She was a "mail order" dog from a Georgia rescue, I was so relieved that they bonded instantly.

I'm loving all the pics of our thread's canine babies! :D

Wondercat - your dogs are so beautiful and I'm so sorry about poor Murphey! Your comment "God made beagles cute so we don't kill them when they [insert unspeakable act of wanton destruction/flagrant misbehavior here]" had me ROFL. It is soooo true!!! And thanks for confirming what we've read about beagles remaining puppy-ish forever. We don't forsee our lil guy ever slowing down...

Victoria (dvcantu7378) - Thanks! I'll update the list with your estimated ER date and just keep us posted on how your appointments go!

So I'e never been very good at sitting on the sidelines and JUST being a cheerleader...anyone mind if I join this group too even though I'm still in the Summer group? I can always use more cheerleaders, right?? I'm going to try to catch up on everyone new here!

dvcantu (Victoria)...You and I are actually pretty close in cycles...my ER should be right around your ET. I wish you the best of luck!

Wondercat...Your story about your dog brought tears to my eyes. When I lived with my parents we lost our 14 year old doxie to breast cancer. We had 2, and the one that was still alive was so sad (not to mention my parents, siblings and myself) that we ended up getting THREE MORE DOGS thinking that the void would somehow get filled. Well, the house got very busy to say the least!!! Since I have moved out I have decided to be a 1 dog family :)

Sher...I have PCOS as well and my doc said she will only put 2 in because of my age and this being my first try. Lately Ihave REALLY been thinking about trying to push her on 3!! It's a tough choice, but I would assume the more you put in the better the chances of one sticking!

Lou...I hope you had a great time with your grandmother!

Tammy...It's so great to see you right back in the game! We are stimming together this time! Do you have an estimated ER date? Mine should be around 9/6 or 9/7.

Carrie...Welcome and best of luck to you and Susan!!

Cheri...Welcome! My DH thinks I obsess over every little thing IVF as well. I his my HPTs from him because I know the look that I will get!!! He is a big help and very supportive, he just hates to see me hurt, so he thinks if I don't think about it as much it won't hurt as bad if it doesn't work. He means well :)

Rio...I hope this is your time!!!

Franny....Any AF yet?

I know there are more of you, but I'm working on catching up!

AFM...For those who don't know my story from the Summer group...My June cycle was cancelled because of 3 dermoids onb my ovaries. Had surgery June 26th and had to wait for AF to come twice before starting. I started stims on Thursday 8/26 and I go in tomorrow morning to check on my follies. I hope I have some good ones growing in there! My ER should be around 8/6 or 8/7, but because this is my first time I really don't know how quicly or slowly I will respond to the meds. I guess I should have a little bit better of an idea tomorrow.

And to continue with all of the dog pictures...this is my baby boxer, Boots. She is just over a year old I love, love, love her to pieces. She is extremely spoiled!!!!

Ryann (rypell) - I'm so glad you joined us so we can cheer you on here too! :) Boots is soooo cute!! It would be awfully hard not to spoil her with that adorable face staring back at you. I'll add you to the list for tomorrow and I hope the appt shows some good looking follies!

Victoria (dvcantu) - I know a few ladies on the thread have done or are doing accupuncture so hopefully one of them will chime in on your question about it.

Ok I hope this worked. My dog's name is Barry.

Wondercat - Your story was so sad about your dog! To be honest I would rather my IVF not work than anything happen to my dog. I would not say the same thing if I had a baby though!
