Okay everyone. I am officially losing it. I keep saying I'm not going to HPT but I seem to have developed some sort of HPT addiction and I can't seem to stop myself. Another -tive this morning. I keep reading stories on message boards about people who have tested this early and gotten +tives. I called my clinic and confessed to having tested and asked if there was anyway they could do the blood test sooner since I was driving myself crazy at this point. They said there have been people who test -tive this early and still get a +tive so not to give up hope yet (although I can't help myself from doing so since I really don't feel like this worked).

Anyway, they took pity on me and moved my test up to Sat. morning. They said the most they ever can change it by is a day. Anyway, that's one less day of driving myself (and DH) nuts.

Hell everyone! Well, I caved in last night and did a HPT (I thought what difference is a few hours going to make.....??), well, as expected it was negative and I was devestated. This morning I went off to work still feeling down, then as soon as I got to my lunch break I went to the nearest Boots to get a First Response and it WAS POSITIVE :D :D :D

Can I just give two pieces of advice (you know how much I like giving advice). First, please,PLEASE anyone who is tempted to test early (Staci :D ) just expect a false result. Within 12 hours I got a very clear and bold pink lines (two actually), but abolutely nothing, in even the wildest imagination, before. Secondly, First Response is a great brand because it detects very low levels of HCG (25+) unlike the other which are usually 50+.

So, I had my EC on say day 1, today is day 15. (My ET was on day 4). So you can work out when the earliest would be for you.

So, girls, see you all on the other side. Staci and Tract, I'll be waiting for you to join me in the next few short days!

Zeena,

Congratulations!! I'm so happy for you!!!

I'll definitely take some encouragement from your story and just hope that I tested too early. I have one First Response left which I'll probably use tomorrow morning (as I am clearly a glutton for punishment) then the "real" test Sat. morning. Would love to be able to join you!

Zeena - CONGRATULATIONS fantantic news. You must be over the moon.

Staci - You are really torturing yourself aren't you? I really hope that all the -tivs you have been getting turn into a BFP on Saturday. Fingers crossed.

Shelld - you get the smilies by just clicking on the smiley face you want from the list on the left. It will come up as an icon. The face will not come up until you submit. You can check you have done it right if you click the preview button at the bottom next to submit. Good luck 8)

Traci - You are desparately trying to encourage us to tell you to test early aren't you? We spend so long telling girls NOT to do it like July Ann and now you are doing exactly what you tell everyone else not to do. What are you like girl??? If you want to test early you will regret coz it I will come and smack your bum

Good luck everyone

Love Dagny xkx

So did I and look where it is getting me....closer to checking in at the nearest insane asylum!

The problem is if it's -tive (which of course we're going to assume it won't be), you'll know it wasn't official so it could still be a late showing +tive but then you're not going to have that wonderful feeling of optimism that you had before taking the test to get you through to the actual test date.
And, once you test, it becomes a compulsion to keep testing until you see the result you want to see. Join me if you will but it's horrible, really. Trust me on this one!

Hey, I just posted on another thread - Traci - if you are only day 14 today DO NOT TEST, just wait one more day. It's just not worth it, I had a terrible night on Wed because I was so dissapointed, please wait at least until Day 15!!!!

Staci, are you mad?? You must stop this now, please, please wait until day 15 then you will see two beautiful pink lines and that will be that!!!!

What are we all going to be like when we have to wait for the 6 and 8 week scans???? I can't bear to think about it!!

Love,

Unfortunately, yesterday was day 15 from EC for me. I tested again this morning. -tive. I think I'm going to have to face facts that this just didn't work. I'm still hanging on to a very unrealistic little shred of hope that something might change by the real test tomorrow morning but it's very unlikely.

AF seems to have just started. I was so caught up in worrying about tests that I completely forgot to be on the lookout for AF. Anyway, I guess that's the end of the line for me. It's crap that I'll even have to go in to the clinic to take the test just to confirm what is already obvious.
