Hi Buddies

just wondered if anyone knew how safe it was to drink during the sniffinf stage? I normally wouldn't even consider it, but Its my brothers 40th bday party tonight, and I also got the fantastic news today that I got a new job - i'd had 2 interviews for it. Id like to celebrate with just the one glass of wine, but Im scared to even touch the stuff in case it does some harm!!

Plus don't all hate me for asking this question!! :(

Love and kisses

Toni xx

I am currently sitting here with half a lager shandy (I know last of the big drinkers!! but it just tastes so much nicer than just water), so I'm sure a couple of glasses of wine wont hurt. I've been having the odd shandy but have not been having more than 2 in one go. I also had a glass of champagne at the weekend.
My friends have all got pregnant after having many a weekend on the razz .... heroin addicts also get pregnant so I do think that if its going to happen it will. We are just meant to do everything we can to increase our chances. But I would go absolutley mad if I couldn't have the odd drink.
I haven't had this advice passed by a doctor by the way .... knowing my luck there will now be loads of replies saying how bad it is to drink alcohol, and maybe thats why none of my cycles have worked!!!!!
Congratulations on the job. I am cheering you with my half of shandy.

Hello All,
Glad to see the most of you seem to be getting on ok. I too was very hungry when I was sniffing.

Well I'm now on day 9 of the 2ww - very definately the worst bit of the whole thing. At least while I was sniffing and injecting I felt like I was going something, now all I can do is wait. DH is being very supportive and keeps buying me bars of chocolate :D . I have to have my blood test on Thursday so I've booked the day off work. I know that I want that day to be here so badly, but also I don't want it to come and the result be -ive :? :?

I have also been swinging from being very positive that it will be fine to being certain that the result will be -ive. I guess that's normal. No sign of af still so I guess that's ok for now. I do have sore boobs but have had these since I started on the drugs so I guess that's not a sign of anything.
What could I expect to be the first sign that it's worked and how soon will I know? Advice from anyone would be great.

Hang in there all of you on the drugs - nearly there now.

Love

You are doing really well, not long to go now. I think as far as symtoms go everyone seems to be different. You are so right that the 2ww is the hardest bit, but you are nearly there and then fingers crossed for a great result love Jill x

Hello All,
Well, the 2ww is gojng sooooooooooooo slowly. I know that I'm supposed to relax and just wait but it is driving me nuts :x I am having trouble sleeping so that is making things worse - my mind just keeps working overtime.

No real symptoms of anything as yet - although I have had a few twinges that I think could be af on its way (but I guess everyone would think that).

Still, day 11 since ET today so keeping everything crossed.

For all of you currently preparing for EC keep on taking the drugs, I'm sure all of the side effects will be worth it.

Thanks for listening

Love

Its beena it quiet on our thread recently (except for Jill who is being fab at keeping us all going  :D ) ... how are you all?

Debbie - only 3 more days to go for you I think. Are you knicker checking yet and prodding your boobs hourly to see if they hurt!!!!! Or is that just me that does that

I've got a scan later on today and hopefully my follies will have grown and I'll be ready for my shot of pregnyl and ec on Wed.
I am now going to be Mrs Positive - so if you see me being negative at all give me a kick - as I'm sure the more positive and relaxed we are the better (god thats so easy to say but very different actually following it through but I'm determined to be positive this go).

Tricia - how are your follies coming along ... I haven't heard from you in a while.

Hope the party went alright the otehr day Toni.

Hi Buddies,
Sophie, you are sweet! So EC on Wednesday, wow things are really moving now, let us know how the scan goes. I actually used my hypnotherapy tape for my ET and it really did help. Have you anything appropriate to take in for a walkman maybe some calming music. I did a huge shop with DP the day before ET so we were well stocked up for the 2 ww. It just means it is one less thong to think about. You are doing fab and are being very positive so no need to give you a kick yet!!

Hi everyone

You are right Soph it has been a bit quiet - lets liven things up!! :)

How are you all? I went to the party I mentioned on Friday night, and I had a few drinks. I didnt get drunk tho, so I only felt a little bit guilty on Saturday morning. Especially since my mate - who spent the night at mine - was completely out of her tree!! :P Very funny!!!

However, I have been reading a few threads today, and i read the one about how much water you are supposed to drink (which by the way completely shocked me!! talk about imcompetence) And a couple of people have said that their clinics had no specifics or rules on how to eat, drink, whether you can have hot baths or sex or anything, so Im taking that as a good sign, as mine haven't said anything to me either!! And These girls with the lax rules still managed to concieve and have little babies. So, I think Im going to try to be sensible but not extreme from now on!

I thought I was doing better on the sniffing drug over the weekend, still had an appetite but my hot flushes my moodyness and my tiredness lifted, as well as the headache that I had had for three days straight! :( That is until I had a blazing row with my hubby yesterday over his and spent most of the afternoon crying.  He apologised later but i could have killed him at the time, and thrown things at him (and I NEVER feel like throwing things!)!! :x So I was obviously more emotional than I thought!

Anyway, sorry for moaning at you, deep breaths - in with the good air - out with the bad......................................

Sophie - congrats on your lovely crop, sounds like you are blooming up nice and lovely!! :) :) Hope it all goes/went well today, let us know won't ya??!! Oh and thanks for the congrats on the job......I was cheering all afternoon on friday too. I do the boob prodding and knicker checking thing too!! but its just knicker checking at the moment, Im on the second week of my sniffing so I'm waiting for AF to arrive ready for my down reg scan which is booked for monday!!! Anybody got any idea when I should expect this? Any ideas would be appreciated!

Julie - How are you getting on hon? Is the sniffing still making you really tired? I am tired again today, but I think thats down to work. Kepp in touch

Debbie - You must be going Stir-crazy!! I can honestly believe that the 2ww is the worst bit, knowing that theres nothing to do but wait, and then wait some more.......even without having gone through it myself yet I already know when I get to that stage I will be climbing the walls!! You are doing really well tho hanging on. Be positive, Thursday is only 3 more sleeps away - I've got everything crossed for you and Im sending you all kinds of luck hon!! XXXXX

Jill - you are a little star on this board always picking us up and giving us advice.....thank you!! How are you doing?!

Tricia - whatever happened to you? How is everything going? Hope you are really well and things are going to plan!! XX :)

Take care girls and think BFPs in the next few weeks for us all!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love and Kisses

Hello All,
Well the 2ww is still driving me crazy, although each day that goes by with no sign of af gives me hope. Yes, I do keep nipping to the loo just to check and my boobs are very sore, so no need to prod. They have been like that since I started on the sniffing so that doesn't really tell me anything.

Toni - when I began on the sniffing af began after 9 days - I was begining to think it wasn't working but all was fine.

Sophie - I hope that EC goes ok on Wednesday. Not long now. It was fine and at least you feel like things are happening.

Hugs for all of you that are feeling tearful - I certainly know that feeling. Just try to stay reasonably sane and I'm sure that lots of us will have psitive news soon.

Love

Debbie, I have good vibes about you ... i can feel that positive result coming along.
Glad everyone is back posting today.
My scan wasn't fab. Follicles have not really grown enough so I've been put back another 2 days so ec wont be until Friday now. this happened last time as well, but I'm still gutted. But as I've got my positive head on this just means that my eggs are going to be matured nicely and have an extra 2 days boost of protein. I've also got 16 follicles now which is good (all between 14 - 16mm ..... so still need to grow a bit).
Well better go, dp is getting stroppy that I'm sitting at the computer more than I sit with him
