Hi Edi

Poor you :( - the 2ww is just the worst isn't it? much worse than the ops and all the drugs etc. i know how you must be feeling.

try not to worry too much tho. I went back to work during my second week as I got myself worked up into such a state during the first week and by the time a whole week had gone by I had convinced myself it had all gone wrong and I was no where nearer to being pregnant than I was a month before. i remember being in uncontrollable floods of tears that day in the afternnoon  - awful, isn't it?!

If it makes you feel any better I suffered terrible with stomach cramps and twinges the first week - then felt almost nothing the second week except the odd twinge a couple of times - and i got a +ve result. i really do think there is no 100% way to tell usually, as everyone is different, but i think those twinges of yours are definitely a good sign and im sure the embies are in there kicking up a storm and letting you know they are there for the duration!!! :D

try ot keep up that PMA - I have every confidence that the 2nd week keeping my mind off it (well as off it as possible! ) and the PMA i tried to keep up as well as this fab message board helped me get my +ve result. and I have every confidence that you will get a +ve result too. It's christmas - Santa couldnt be THAT unkind, could he!?!?! Keep smiling hon, we are all here if you need us, and PMA PMA PMA!!!! in saying that i know how difficult it is......

Thinking of you

Love and Kisses

Hi everyone

Hope you are all doing ok at your various stages of treatment.

Edi I had pains throughout the two weeks so maybe its a good sign that you only had then really in the first week. Usually each month with my period pains i would get back pain and i got this in the second week. I found it quite hard being the first time as you dont know what you should or shouldnt expect. I really hope everything goes well for you.

Lindy I hope everything goes ok tomorrow

Toni How are you at the minute? You must only have another week or so to go for youe scan? are you feeling ok?

Dolly & WEny how are you doing?

Thinking of you all.

Hi Everyone

Thought I'd let you know that unfortunately, I had a -ve result

I'm ok, but i'm feeling quite low. It seems to have hit DH harder than normal. He'd really convinced himself that it was good news.

I've thrown myself back into my job. Getting the shop ready for the Christmas Sales is a perfect distraction for me!

Hopefully, I can have another go in Jan/Feb. We have 2 frozen embies left. Fingers, legs, arms and everything crossed for them.

I hope you all have better luck than me.

love, Suz

Hi there,

Well we have had quite a stressful week. Firstly we were over the moon when we got 9 eggs at EC (the highest number ever!). But this was soon shattered when we got the call the next day to say that only 1 had fertilised. I felt like the earth had been pulled from under me.

The only good news is that the 1 was perfect and healthy and I had ET on Thursday. The embryologist said that it really was a good embryo and that we shouldn't discount this working.... but you know how it is - somehow only getting the one has made me pretty negative about the whole thing. My test date is 30th December.

Suz, sorry to hear about your -ve. I always find getting back into work helps to keep your mind off things. You sound very positive though which is a good thing. You and DH take care of each other.

Lindy, hope it all goes well for you today.

Love to everyone else - hopefully I will get a chance later on to catch up with all the news.

Hi Guys,

Really sorry, yet more bad news!

The clinic suspect that I have an Ectopic pregnancy. My HCG level was only 13.5 on day 15 and only 180 on day 20. So they have asked me to go back again for yet another blood test and agonising wait on Thursday to confirm it. I understand that it should have been at least 400 at this stage. The nurse said that if it is ectopic I will need to stop the pessaries and it may go automatically. I feel like stopping them now and not having yet another agonising wait only to be told that their suspicions to come true. I do have some pains near my hip on my right side, and I also have shoulder and neck pain which I understand is the usual with an ectopic. My Endo scar tissue is on my right side, so I'm used to have pain here.

I'm also a bit scared as I'm not sure whether leaving the situation to carry on may mean that it won't just go, and I'll need yet more surgery to remove it which could damage the tube permanantly and reduce my chances even further.

Can anyone help me with some advise?

Thanks

Lindy

Hi

Suz - so sorry to hear you got a negative. I'm really gutted for you. This is such an emotional roller coaster. Take care of yourself and dh now and I'm sure 2005 will be great for you and your little frosties.

Lindy
I'm sorry but I have no experience that I can draw on to help you with this decision. Hopefully someone else on the boards will be able to advise you. But I do know what it's like to want to throw out those damned pessaries when you feel that it is hopeless anyway. However, Thursday is only 2 days away so my instinct would be to wait till Thursday. Can you call the clinic again and ask to discuss it with them again sometimes when you get shocking news it's hard to think what questions to ask and it helps to have a second conversation when you're mind is a little clearer. The very best of luck with whatever decision you make.

Dolly,
What a stressful time for you too. But hopefully you have a tough little fellow safe and warm in there now. Remember, in the end, all you need is one so stay positive.

Alette - Are you OK? Is the puppy keeping you busy? Only a couple of more days now.

Orla - Hope you're being nice to yourself and have some cheerful plans for Christmas.

I have had some really bad cramping over the past 24 hours. Woke up at 2.30am and couldn't get back to sleep, I even rang the clinic today but of course they couldn't offer an insight only to hold the nerve and take it easy.
So I feel a bit better this afternoon now that things have settled down and the cramping has eased off.

You are all in my thoughts and prayers,

Love
Edi

Hi Lindy, I have had 2 ectopics and know just how scarey it is to be told you have a suspected ectopic (unfortunately in my case it turned out they were right in both cases). I know that my hospital didn't make the diagnosis on how high the numbers were - but they were more concerned to see if they were doubling at the correct rate (which I believe is doubling every 48 hours) - and it seems to me that yours are well within that range.

Unfortunately EP's are very hard to diagnose and with my last one in June I had 2 weeks of going backwards and forwards to the hospital every other day for blood tests and scans until it finally showed up on an ultrasound.

Please don't give up with the pessaries - not until you know for sure what is happening. It is awful being left in this limbo - not knowing what is going on. There is a good website that I found invaluable and they have a great forum there as well (www.ectopic.org) - they also have a hotline number you can ring if you fancy a chat to someone (great people on the other end of the phone who give you great advice and words of comfort).

I really do feel for you - and if I can be of any help - please just yell.

Thinking of you

Love

Hi Everyone

Thanks for all your kind words. I'm feeling better thank you.

I start the injections again on the 12th Jan, ready for the next FET.
There's only 2 left, so we're worried about their survival. We'll be keeping everything crossed.

Got some bad news from the hospital though, about the funding running dry. There's only a handful of places left. So if the FET doesn't work, there may not be any funding left. The thing is, I turn 40 at the end of March. So I won't be able to have any treatment. This FET could be our last chance. :x :(
