Don't you find the days are just flying by - I can't believe that Amelia is already 2 months old. To me she is the missing piece in my jigsaw and now my life seems so fantastic - my bubble is still going strong!!

I bet you are having endless fun with Meagan - she sounds gorgeous.

How are all you other "new" mums - finding time to be here is so difficult isn't it? I do miss everyone so much, but my little mini me seems to occupy my days totally.

Its so lovely coming on and catching up with old friends - I'd forgotten how much I missed this chat. It's been incredibly difficult - Emily plummeted to 7pound 9 after born at 8. 12 and hasn't been pyutting on weight. Shes now 5 weeks old and has just started to come back up - its been such a worry - backi and fort for doc checks etc. Finally we are back on track and I can breathe a sigh f relief ( and maybe get some sleep soon). Is anyone else breast feeding and finding it difficult? I'd love any advice that goiing. Sorry didn't do personals - shes goiing to wake any second and demand a feed! Its so great though to read your news - I've missed coming on. P.S I've had a couplke of texts from Jacs who sounded lioke she was thriving so hopefully she'll be on soon too.

Christine - Good to hear from you. Doesnt time fly? I bet Meagan is so much fun at the moment! Jenna is developing so much. I seem to notice something new nearly every day. We'v just had loads of rain in the last few days. I know its much needed after the hot dry spell we seem to have had recently, but it is a shame to have to stay in most of the time!

Cheryl - Sorry you've had such a difficult time, but good to hear Emily is now starting to put on the weight. Has your Health Visitor given you any telephone numbers for breast feeding councillors such as the NCT? Have you heard of the baby cafes, where mums can meet to feed their babies and also get advice and support? the website is www.babycafe.co.uk if you are interested. Take care.

Gavin - Sorry! I should have called it 2005/2006 Mummy's and Daddy's Good to hear Samara is now doing well. Keep enjoying your precious little family.

Hi to everyone else. Hope the weathers better where you are!

Jenna's now started trying to roll over. She also 'talks' more and smiles, laughs and squeals. My mum commented that she was a very wriggly baby when you hold her, more so than either me or my brother were. I think we are going to have fun when she becomes mobile! DH is already looking at safety equipment for the house! I must say I love the age she is at now. Great fun but easy to deal with!!

Hi All

Just a quick note to say hi and wish everyone well.

Finding the time isn't easy - I just love being with Amelia and when she's asleep I have to get all my other chores done.

I've been exercising like mad and can now get back into my pre-preggas clothing!! I have to admit that having Amelia has done wonders for getting me back to fitness.

Good to hear from you Cheryl - I hope that things are now going well and Mini Cheryl is doing well.

Hope you are all ok.

Just wondered if any of you ladies (Christine, Minnow etc with the now 'older' babies!!) have started the weaning process yet? Jenna will be 19 weeks on Thursday and still seems to be happy on breast milk only, but I just wondered about what 'signs' you had that your babies were ready for weaning? I am hoping to wait if possible, until she is 6 months(as recommended now) but would like to know other people's experiences and thoughts. I have to admit I do feel a bit apprehensive about weaning her!

Little P - Arent you good re the exercise!! Well done you! I have bought a post natal DVD, but afraid havent done the exercises yet! I do get about with Jenna in the pram a fair bit I guess, but I think I should be doing more with the amount of food I am putting away!

hi all - hope you and your babies are well. time is certainly flying by and i cant believe ned is now 5 months old!! he is doing really well. he has been rolling over onto his front for a few weeks now and i have given up turning him back over in his sleep as he wiggles his way back again! he is incredibly strong and regularly grabs my hand or hair for a yank - think i have a strong willed little boy on my hands! the cot mattress has gone down a level as i'm sure he would learn how to get over in no time. he is also making his first efforts to crawl. he gets his bottom in the air and puts his head right down while attempting to push off his feet! he doesnt make it very far but he is determined to be on the move so my work will be cut out for me soon.

kim, like you i am keen to try and wait until 6 months before weaning if poss. he still seems satisfied with milk but over the last few days he has been much more unsettled and losing interest halfway through some of the feeds. he is dribbling a lot and pulling everything into his mouth but that may be early signs of teething. he doesnt seem to be really hungry though. people say to look out for demanding more feeds, waking up more at night and trying to grab your food. none of these things are the case. have you got any of the Annabel Karmel books about weaning? they give really clear guides on what to feed and when. there is even a timetable for the first few weeks with recipes. that makes me feel a lot more confident as you're right it can seem daunting.

Hello mummies and daddies,
It feels like ages since I posted here, but Abby and Ryan seem to constantly have colds.
Welcome to all the new mummies and good to hear about everyone elses babies.
K - I have started weaning already and Ryan is currently on 3 meals a day. I know hes only 4 months but he was big to start with and he now weighs 22lbs. He was constantly chewing his hands and he started waking up in the night (up to 4 times) The health visitor agreed weaning was OK in his case. My DD was also 4 months when she was weaned as that was the guideline then. I went to baby massage and they gave out free books on weaning, also I went to the library and photocopied all the recipes in books that I liked. Ryans favourite foods are mango puree and fromage frais.
Sher - How are you getting on now. I hope things are improving for you.
Ryans so big now I find it hard to carry him, I'm only 5'3 and he is so strong. When I change his nappy he wriggles up the change mat as I'm just about to fasten it, so have to reposition it again. He still sleeps in our room and want to keep him there until 6months as per guidelines, but he is such a noisy sleeper it is getting hard.
Luckily Ryan can sit up on his own now and roll over by himself so he doesnt get as bored so quick and interaction with him is a lot easier and there are so many more things I can do with him.
On the plus side I am so enjoying being a mummy again. I'm cherishing every moment and when I go to bed at night I just look at both of my children and cant believe how blessed I am.
Is anyone else going back to work. I am due back in July but am going back in Sept when DD goes to back to school after the summer hols. I'm only going back 4 mornings but I'm dreading leaving Ryan.
Anyway look forward to reading everyones news again soon

Hi All,

So sorry to be out of touch. We're getting our house ready to have some work done and my spare time is pretty much non-existent right now. My DH is travelling for business much more now so I haven't had much time to myself. I have a few free minutes now

Little P: It's so great to hear that Amelia is doing great! Time is flying by and I bet you are so in love with her. I feel the same way about Meagan. She will be 6 months old next week and has started cutting teeth. We see the top of the tooth coming through and are totally amazed that she did not get fussy about it. She has such a calm and easy nature. She is rolling on her sides but hasn't rolled all the way over yet. She amazes us every day!

Kim: It's nice to hear from you! Isn't it amazing to see how much Jenna is changing every day? She sounds like a wonderful little girl! We're finally having some nice warm weather. We had a lot of trouble with the rain a couple of weeks ago.

Meagan is eating Stage 1 baby foods and has really liked everything so far. She goes for her 6 month checkup on June 16th and I'm excited to see how much she has grown. I breast-fed and formula-fed her the first few months, but my milk supply did not come in completely after much pumping and lactation consulting. So she took to just formula very well. She is very healthy and beautiful and has not even gotten a cold yet.

I must say I am looking forward to a concert with Andrea Bocelli and the Boston Pops on June 16th. DH gave me tickets for my birthday and made reservations at a nice restaurant in Boston before the show. This will be our first romantic night out alone since Meagan was born.

Christine - I can't believe that Meagan is now 6 months!!! It is incredible how quickly the days turn into weeks, then months isn't it?

It's good to see that she is progressing so well - each days brings a new wonder doesn't it?

Next week Amelia will be 3 months and I have been thinking that I will start weaning at 4 months - I have one of the Annabel Karmel books and have to say that it is really interesting and easy to following - highly recommended ladies!!

Amelia had her second set of jabs yesterday, just one more set to go in 4 weeks time and then the MMR at 18 months. I hate watching them put that needle in her because she is so little!!!!!

I hope that you are all having some fun - Smita, Cheryl, Jacs, Kim, Susie (and everyone else obviously) - take care ladies and hopefully hear from you soon. I know only too well how difficult it is to tear yourself away from the little ones to sit at a computer!!!

Siena is now 4 months old and so much fun. She is always smiling and laughing. We are so lucky to have her join us.

Christine - We had our first evening out and found a wonderful babysitter. We are thinking of going out once every other week. I think it is good for your relationship with DH. Have a great time!

I will post a new photo of Siena. She just started to roll. She is 15 lbs as of her last check-up.

Glad to hear everyone is doing so well these days. Good luck on the weaning everyone. I stopped at 3 months.

I'm feeling much better these days and the postpartum has subsided. I hope no one else experienced what I did. Felt like I was in a fog and now it has cleared. I am so glad to now wake up to Siena each day!

Hi all!
Been posting on and off on the gen forum and also on the pregnant after thread, but feel too lazy to come and post here!!
Dhruvaa, is down with flu right now- perhaps she caught it from my mother in law who is down with throat infection- its soo hard seeing her suffer-
Here I was , thinking that breast fed babies are immune to all illnesses

Anyway, she's been down since yesterday, and now I have the beginnings of a cold coming on..
Luckily, she slept last night, though fitfully..

Its tough watching one's little un suffer
Hopefully, she'll be right as rain in a couple of days..
Its the weather here- totally undependable at all times- and its always in the air here...
She's due fr her second set of needles in a few days, but that'll come only after this fever subsides..its so horrid!All my friends say: Welcome to motherhood"!!

Otherwise, we have been doing very well- She's not yet sterted to roll over- though she does do a half roll- getting more strength in her neck muscles each day and also wants to stand on my lap now!

Am going to start the weaning process when she is 4 and a half months old as per her paediatrician.

Hi Mommies and Daddies!

Meagan had her 6 month checkup last week and she now weighs 17.5 lbs and measures 28.5 inches. She is doing wonderfully developmentally. She is starting Stage 2 baby foods as well. She is rolling over and sitting up a bit with little assistance. I almost fainted today as she called out "mama" a couple of times in a row. My DH was in another room and he heard it too! It's a wonderful feeling!

We did have a nice evening out at the Andrea Bocelli concert last week. DH and I desperatley needed a night out. Meagan did wonderfully with my sister-in-law. I felt guilty leaving her but it went well for all of us.

Hi girls,
This is my first time in posting on the parents forum, thought it was about time i did.
Kady was 4 weeks old on Friday and is getting so big, i'm noticing changes in her every day. She weighed in at 9lb 9.5oz last week and is due to get weighed again on Tuesday, she is piling it on every week and the Health Visitor is very happy with her progress.
I was really scared about how i'd cope with a newborn when i got home from hospital because before having her i'd never even changed a baby's nappy let alone look after one, but i've found what they say is right, instinct just kicks in, she's thriving, happy and contented so i must be doing ok.
I know they say you should always support a newborns head but Kady is a little madam, right from 2 days old she's been lifting her own head and doesn't really like any help, now she hates just lying down or being cradled on your lap, she has to be sitting up straight on your lap so she can look around. The Health Visitor commented on how strong she is, she said to lie her on her front on her mat to help strengthen her up more. Michael done that the other day and she tried to lift her head, then brought her knees up under her and tried to push herself forward. Is this normal for a 4 week old or do we have a SuperBaby here?

Seeing as all your babies are a lot older than Kady i'm hoping maybe you could give me some advice.
As i said earlier Kady is now 4 weeks old and i'm still bleeding, it's died down a lot now over the last couple days, more like the end of an AF now, could that be it finally coming to an end? How long did everyone's last and when do your AF's return?
One other question. I'm breastfeeding and some days no matter how many times Kady feeds my boobs just feel so full, hard and quite sore, today has been the worst, it actually leaked right through a pad, my bra and top, and it was a massive leak, i was soaked. Does anyone have any tips to ease the sore, hard feeling? Thanks in advance for any advice.
