Katie- You be careful girl with your speedy moves! I have a sharp pain sometimes when I sneeze...a ligament type thing on the side area of my uterus. I hear you about the sex. We haven't attempted yet...but I think this week is a good time to try. I'm not really that interested to be honest...so we'll see. So many other ways to be intimate and enjoy being close.

Ryan- Sorry to hear about your loss. I can't imagine the sadness. Know that all of us send you a prayer for peace and positive energy for the next try!!!!

Babyluv- I had bleeding in the past due to a SCH...two episodes, actually. I have twins and like Stephanie said, I think it is very common with multiples. Just take it easy. Drink alot of water and relax. I'm now 14w6d.

AFM...Had an OB appt this morning. My babies are all doing well. Growing like weeds...wiggling around and touching their faces. So darn cute. Each weighs about 4 ounces...which is like a stick of butter each. hehehehe Doctor was seeing lots of pink, if you know what I mean...so I'm feeling more and more it'll be two little girls. But my OB reminded me he was wrong with "declaring" the gender of his own son! So I guess you really have to wait until the big day to know...or have an amnio. Found out, too, that I don't need a blood thinner. All my tests were negative, so yippie! One less thing to worry about! The headaches have been coming on like a vengence! Since Sunday morning I've have either a slight migraine or heachache. Doctor assured me that Tylenol is ok. He said if they persist and don't stay away for a few days, to call him. All is ok. Gained 2 pounds in 2 weeks. So that is a good pace he said.

Hi everyone -

So, it just nevers ends... my RE finally called today with last weeks P4 results and says to continue crinone 2x day, and to come next week for MORE b/w!
So, I'm still not released yet! This is turning into quite the comedy  I wanted so badly to tell him what my OB had said about crinone being pointless at 15 wks, but my RE is easily the smartest Dr I've ever come across, plus I figure he's got alot vested in my embie, so that explains his being so ridiculously cautious
he did say that if my P4 stays "in a comfortable zone" (it was 33.7 ) then he'll stop the crinone next week. I have never heard of someone being 15wks and still under their RE's care, have you? So the saga goes on...

Angela - Hooray for a strong HB!!! its an amazing feeling, isnt it? See, now you can take a special day with your nephew and tell him while he has you all to himself! Congrats!!

Babyluv - Oooh, how scary that must have been. Trying to be on bed rest with 2 liitle ones running around sure cant be easy! I'm so glad to hear that both beans are doing well!

Helene - Nope, this will be my first child! My RE had gotten a call for a previous patient that wanted him to decide who will receive the gift of their embies after having multiples. The crazy part was the timing, I had my ER that morning with 0 retreived, so my RE offered them to us. There were 4 blasts, he thawed all4, only 2 survived intact, and we transferred the other 2. The only bad part is that we got no info at all on the donors, all the RE could tell us was that they wanted to remain anonymus, that they look similar to us, and that they had multiples - thats all the info we have, but I do trust my RE with my life, so I'm sure he went over their charts, but thanks to HIPPA lawss cannot tell us anything more. yes, I'll tell him/her when they are old enough to understand.
As to your other question "do I feel weird about donor embies"? - No, not at all. They were the biggest gift I've ever received and my RE was an Angel for offering them to us. It was just the most perfect timing, since I had that last ivf as my "Hail Mary" cycle! Can you believe it?

Lou- You take care of yourself, you busy girl! I was getting a little worried about you - missed you, but know how busy you are. Your baby will be perfect, please dont get freked out over some extra caffeine, there are natural pg where women drink coffee all day, and smoke and drink and go on to have a perfect babie - its just because we worked so hard to get here that we are so over cautious.

Claudia - I was miising you also. How much fun was your 80's party? yep, the crinone seems like it will never end. I'll see my RE again next tues for more b/w and as long as my levels stay in the 30's he will FINALLY wean me off - hee heee by then I'll be 16wks!!

Steph -I dont think its "oddball" to want 2 boys at all - I'd love to have 2 boys, just maybe not love the part of sports equipment all over the house accompanied by dirty sweat socks - yuk! And I'm pretty sure they live for wrestling all over your new furniture too - I still say less scary than 2 girls when they get to be teens though!

Gi - Orange juice has so much acid, I can only drink the low acid type. Or its pain all morning! oh, so you're on crinone for the duration too? At least we're in it together. Oh, Gi absolutely show off your little bump!!!

hugs & prayers to us all - xoxo

Katie,
I wouldn't get too worried about the sex attempt!. I'm with Karen, I have no desire and lucky me, my dh is ok with that. If you get in the mood again, STeph is right, there are some things that might make if more comfortable(ie any position you can control). I cannot hardly believe your RE is still holding on to you! I really think he is vested in your pregnancy and wants to see you till the end.

Angela,
Glad to hear you got to hear the heartbeat. Isn't that just the coolest! You can tell your nephew now, who sounds like a really cool kid!

gi,
Hurray for 12 weeks! You should show off your bump! You worked hard to get the baby bump, you should let it hang out for the world to see.

lou
,
you are fine, and baby is fine!. Green tea will not cause birth defects, baby bean is wonderful I am sure!. Still hanging out at the gym?

babyluv,
I am so glad your babies are fine. What a scare! Just take is easy!

Franca,
Its ok to feel kinda funky right now. We are all here to support you. I agree with Steph however, if you keep having problems with depression, talk to your doctor.

Helene,
I am sure dh is just stressed out right now. Your household has had alot going on and he may just have been blowing off some steam. Keep your chin up!

Karen,
Sounds like your babies are doing GREAT. go team PINK! Sorry to hear about the headaches, I can relate, I have has some doozy headaches lately. Tylenol is ok, but sometimes just takes the edge off.

Ryan,
I am so sorry. Take some time to grieve. Have a great vaca, and I hope you find a way to move forward to your dream of a baby.(((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))) Please keep us posted!

Tammy,
I am so sorry for loss. As for your questions about natural miscarriage, I didn't go that route. I was bleeding on and off for about a week and couldn't take anymore. I had to throw a fit to get a referral to ob/gyn, but he did a D/C and said I would have never passed all the tissue on my own. So I felt I made the right choice, plus I had closure and could move on and grieve for my loss. I don't recall having a fever or back pain, so your best just to check back with doctor to make sure you don't have other things going on. a UTI can give you a fever too! Thinking of you (((((((((((hugs)))))))))).

Ronda - How have you been? Is the m/s letting go of you?

Katie - Thanks for not thinking me the odd ball. lol Almost everytime I get asked what I would like the genders to be and I say boys, I get... Why!? lol Well, why not? Boy and girl is great though and I am thinking that is likely what they will be. Of course the only thing we all really care about is health. Just thankful everything is looking well in that department. I hope I didn't embarrass you giving you advice on positions and such. :) I am so open in that area that I can be a little too graphic at times. I have a pretty good labido so all this waiting has been driving me crazy. If there were a time for mine to go down, during this pregnancy would be it, but of course not! UGH! I called my doc and left a message, it was a general voicemail and no one was picking up the phone all day. Not fair! I wanted to ask about sex and my headaches. No call back... figures. Oh well, I will try again tomorrow. 8) As far as your RE, he is very protective over you. I would mention what the OB said and just see what he has to say. It will likely be something along the lines of... That's why I am the specialist. lol At least he is being careful. I am not even getting tested at all to make sure my levels are staying up. I have read of people staying on progesterone or like meds because of the placenta not doing it's job, but still having a healhty pg with the help of the meds. I do believe they were not IVF patients though.

Karen - Glad everything was fine, of course we all knew it would be. :) So what do you think about 2 girls? Seems so many possible girls in the thread. Pink must be in season! lol I keep having headaches too so I feel for you. Almost every darn day too! I try not to take anything if I can help it, but Tylenol seems to be at my side just in case and I try to only take one dose when I do. If the headache doesn't go away, I deal with it till I can go to sleep. That will normally help, until the following day. They mostly come in the evenings... wonder what that is all about. Tried calling the OB but no one was picking up so I left a message. No call back, but I will just try again tomorrow.

Gi - 12 weeks! Great feeling isn't it? Sorry about the heartburn. I have to pop a Tums once in a while myself. Any other cravings other then orange juice? :)

Helene - Oh wow, interesting story. I do believe kids can see more than adults. So pure an untainted by close minded thoughts. I remember a lot of my childhood and there are things I remember that no one can explain. Therefore I am still open minded because of my experiences as a kid. That would be something to be able to see souls floating about though. Could you imagine? I consider myself more spiritual than religious. I lost my faith for many years, but with this pregnancy, spite the scares, I am rethinking a few things.

Dr Boots...I am sooo sorry. I guess you could say that I completely understand. I could have written your post exactly ...1 week ago. I spent all of last week...shopping and packing for our vacation and worrying about when I would pass the baby. TMI Alert: As it turned out...I started spotting on Saturday night and actually passed the baby while traveling/flying to Myrtle Beach, yesterday. Since I was only a little over 5 weeks pregnant...it wasnt a whole lot worse than a normal period. I passed a clot which I believe was the sack with the baby inside about 2" in diameter...and then some bits of tissue off and on since. The whole thing was mainly from 10:30 to 3-ish...yesterday. Try to enjoy your vacation and take some time to grieve too...I am doing so in bits and pieces and it seems to be keeping me from a complete breakdown right now. I have only been lightly bleeding/spotting since yesterday and the cramps and back pain is mostly all gone now. Our trip has been a blast so far...considering. My nieces and nephews and my darling son have had me smiling...despite everything going on. I was even able to hide the entire miscarriage from everyone on the flight down...as I didnt want to scare the kids or ruin anyone's trip.

As far as the whole temp thing...I am happily embarrassed to say that after sending DH out to get me a different thermometer...I apparantly never even had a temp...except I'm sure I did when I had the strep and chills and all that. But, yeah...not a few days ago...like we thought. Stupid expensive ear thermometer aint worth crap.

Hi All,

I have about 5 mins before DH gets home and wants his dinner...lol.

What I meant about Green Tea causing neural tube defects is that I read that as little as 1-2 cups a day (I've been drinking 2-3 cups/day since before I got pregnant) contains antioxidants that impair the action of folic acid. Which, as you all know, is important to prevent neural tube defects. Soooo...... that's why I was worried. Thanks all for calming me down. I just can't believe there's a baby growing inside me. I'm just so sure that somehow I've screwed it up already! I also read that caffeine causes mental retardation and low birth weight.... and exercise can be beneficial and BAD esp if your body temp gets up to 102 F. Geeze.... who measures their temp during exercise! Thanks crazy!!! I do wear a heart rate monitor and keep my HR under my anaerobic threshold which is 165. But tennis sometimes drives it up to 170's... I just don't hold it there for more than 15-20 seconds or so. I'm just second guessing EVERYTHING. I once again need confirmation that this kid is OK in there. I have an appt on Weds. I doubt I'll have a scan cuz I'm having the NT done a week later on the 12th. Is 12 weeks early enough to get a heart beat on a doppler?

Anyway, here's a pic I took on Saturday at 11w3d. Can everyone see the bump now?????

Everyone have a good evening. I'm pooped after my spin class tonight. A little chicken and spinach for dinner and I'm going to bed!

And thank you all for asking about my grandmother. She came home Saturday with little answers. An MRI couldn't be done due to her pacemaker. She seems to be back at baseline now, which is a HUGE relief. But we don't know what caused her episode. I just thank God it wasn't a stroke & pray it doesn't happen again.

kaarenthescorpio - Glad to see the babies are doing find and it would be nice to have girls too cute.

katie - sorry you are frustrated with your RE is it possible it's just that they want to make $$... Or do you think there is something to worry about??

oh wow what a nice story about your embies. Sorry you have no info. I don't have that much either but it's ok. So it's God that made it all work hey... wow something HE just wants something for us and it all works. Praise the Lord. So I am very happy to see someone else in my situation. When they offered you the embies had you and your dh even considered that BEFORE your ER? How wonderful. Congrats again. So you have no siblings to go with that little one right? I guess starting with one is already good enough :) so happy for you.

arabsrcool - I think you are right about dh. Last night he was telling the kids I didn't want him aroud anymore.. (which is totally false) I guess he feels that I don't care not sure he even said "well if you are kicking me out let me know" I have no clue why he would say that... I never say he has to go... that would be stupid. I love the man he is an amazing daddy and very devoted husband... not sure what is happening now?? :)

Steph - Yes I do believe children and babies sees things we don't. Like my baby I always say he is watching his angel. I say that all the time when he looks somewhere and is smiling and the kids repeat it too. They say oh he must be looking at his angel again. so it's cute. I think most people believe in angels so it's cute ;) For me I know the Lord is there there is no way my life would be where it is withouth HIM. In so many occasion I have proof but some will believe its the spirith or the auras... its ok :)

Oh Tammy - so sorry again. But glad you now can move on and hopefully try again later. Your first IVF worked and your second worked too (although mc) so you have an excellent success rate. I am sure you will be able to make little Zach a sibling before you know it with just a few months delay. I also think a vacation and enjoying life and hopefully being able to smile again will help in this matter. I am keeping you in my prayers. Hugs.

lou - oh yes now I can see the bump... so cute... nice to know there is a little baby growing in there... wonderful. And don't read too much stuff on the internet some of it is good to know the rest we can leave it and enjoy our pg and stop what we think might be bad and go on... I also hope I didn't hurt my baby with my green tea but there is nothing I can do now :) Yes also very glad your gm is doing good what a releif. (sorry spelling error)

AFM - last night I just learned that the move is happening May 7th and not 14th. So imagine my panic when I hurd that. My dh says he told me and everything well we have the place until May 15 so I guess I just assumed we were moving that weekend. Anyways so of coures I packed like crazy and have to call the phone company again about the move date change... boy oh boy. But it's going good considering... the kids are really exited to go to the new house. They saw it twice and wanted to go again last night they like to run and play hide and seek in an empty house :) too cute.

And for the house we sold they have until this Wed to sign the final agreement and no apt has been made yet so ??

And the worse news I got yesterday was that at work we might all be let go (shortage of money) by the end of the month. That's my kinda work you never know when you will work and not work. Actually it would be nice to have one month off to set the house up so again I think it's God watching over my family. But I sure hope I would get another job after?? If not then we are lost again :)

So that's my news for today.

Hugs and send me an email if you want to chat on facebook if you are worried or bored (Franca and the others).

Steph & Karen - Thank you for the reassurance! It does seem like we twin mommies (ok, ALL of us mommies) are in for a looong pregnancy! So glad to hear that your SCH cleared up and all is well. The ER Dr. didn't call it that (just a clot), but I can't imagine it's anything different. I read a lot of Drs just called it a blood clot...makes it easier (ha, like we don't know all the medical terms).

Angela - I am SOOO happy for you that you got to hear and see the hb!!! I knew you would, but it's good to have that reassurance!

Katie - 15 weeks!! Oh my goodness, your RE must be gunning for the Godfather position!! I've been able to rest quite a bit thankfully. DS was in preschool yesterday so DD and I just laid around and watched movies. Then I lounged by the pool in the afternoon while they went swimming. Today DS is home, so it will be more of the same :D

Gi - 12 weeks, YAY!!!

Ryan - I am so, so sorry. We are all thinking about you and praying for healing.

Tammy - I'm glad you are having a good time. I love the balloon idea. How perfect. Again I am so sorry for your loss. You are dealing beautifully, but I know it's still hard. We're praying for you.

Lou - so glad your Grandmother is better, and I really hope they figure out soon what happened. And I can DEFINITELY see that bump! I'm sure your LO is A-OK in there. If you are concerned then cut back on the green tea and anything else, but what's done is done and I'm sure everything is fine. I've cut back a lot on the caffiene (have about 1/2 a coke every couple of days), but I think my mom was drinking at least 5 a day back then, plus coffee, and we're all just fine.

AFM - I had a little bleeding yesterday morning, and then brown the rest of the day when I wiped. I wore a pad, but actually didn't one after 10am. Whoo hoo! I've had a little more bleeding today (it's been dark pink the last two days), but just when I wipe. My OB said that as long as I don't have any period type bleeding or cramps I should be fine and just to come in on Monday for my regular appt. No one seems overly concerned. The bleed is pretty large (they didn't give me a pic), I think 5.5 mm? Something like that. So I think it will take quite a while to go away, but I'll do what I have to! The kids are both potty trained and relatively independent, so I really don't need to lift or do too much. This weekend I am going to the beach with my BF for her 30th. No kids, just the spa (which I am calling my OB today to make sure the salt glow and facial I have planned are OK) and the beach. Need to bring an umbrella....hmmm... Anyway, should be nice and relaxing.

babyluv - glad you will enjoy a bit a time to yourself and your BF ...

Hey girls I would like to see our baby's hb compared to boy girl results. Can everyone write in their hb so we can keep a list. Just want to know if theory is right about 140- is boys and 140+ is girls.

Lycase - hb 163, 175 - Girl
Stephanie - HB was B 130 and A 149 - looks like one boy one girl
Lou - hb 146 - 9w5d - girl

Helene - The HB thing isn't really a theory, it's actually been disproven. They have done studies and the end result is... if the baby is active, they will have a higher HB when it is taken, not so active then a lower HB. Makes sense, though all the different wive's tales are fun to try anyway. :) Last I got a HB count was when they were itty bitty 6 weeks ago!!! I have seen the HB since of course but they haven't given me a number and I am so excited to see them that I don't think to ask. So, the last known HB was B 130 and A 149. Which does go with what I think I saw on the u/s last time. :) I should know for sure next u/s... can't wait!
As far as all the religious stuff goes, glad to hear you are so faithful. The life I have lived, it's hard for me to be. Good luck with the move! :)

Babyluv - Glad that you are only spotting now. It should get darker and stay that way. Not sure why the doc wouldn't just tell you the technical name, I think we know enough to be docs ourselves by now. lol At least he told you it was a bleed and not a third baby miscarriage. Some docs get their degrees from a cereal box I think. lol At least the ones here on this Army post!

Lou - Yes, there does seem to be a cute little baby bump there. :) How could you have doubts with that cute little bump? lol Though I say just ask for a quick scan to calm your nerves. Docs must understand considering all you have been through. I think all IVFers deserve more scans! :) I am sure if he doesn't do one on his own, if you ask or even beg a little he will agree to do one. Good luck tomorrow!!

Tammy - Glad you are having fun with the family. You are being so strong, I admire that about you! I am glad that you were able to pass it without any issues or having all eyes on you. That must have made it a bit easier. Now you can grieve properly in your own way. It may be to early to ask or think about, but do you know what your next move will be? Try agian or adopt eggs or embies? No matter what you decide, I hope you will keep dropping in and letting us know how you are doing and what you are doing.

Steph -- I think I will take your advice and beg for that scan tomorrow.

Helene -- At 9w5d, my baby's heart rate was 146. Sooo, girl?

Babyluv -- Oh, I have definitely cut out the green tea! I've cut back my caffeine, but not as much as you. I have one cup of decaf in the morning and then a cup of hot tea at work. I often drink iced tea with lunch and dinner since I'm not a water fan except when I'm working out. But I guess I'll have to change that.

Tammy -- I'm glad you seem to be enjoying your vacation despite the circumstances. My boss had two miscarriages and her outlook was "there must have been something very chromosomally wrong so this is a good thing". She went on to have three healthy children, but didn't need IVF like we all did. I'm so glad you do have your beautiful son to focus on but I also hope you get to be a mother again sometime soon as well. Thanks for sticking around.

Hazel -- When are you back from basking in the sun in Dubai?

Katie --- Seriously? More bloodwork from your RE? Your RE is watching you like a hawk... try to consider yourself lucky you have him. I still remember the day of your ER where you got no eggs and your RE wanted you to come back after breakfast to talk. I'm soooo glad you took his offer. I believe God works in mysterious ways and this was his way of making sure you and DH became parents. Somehow I just knew that despite your previous failures, taking that offer would get you pregnant. And it did!

AFM -- I worked out last night. Nothing out of the ordinary for me. I did a spin class for an hour and moderate intensity and then lifted some weights for arms, back, and shoulders for about another 30 minutes. I felt great and had no issues. But this morning, when I wiped, there was a bit of brownish/pink mucus. I haven't had this before. It was only a tiny bit and is now more yellowish if I really look. I'm trying not to worry at all since it was so little. I do have an OB appt tomorrow morning so I will be sure to get confirmation that all is well before I leave. I have no cramping at all and today I feel very good. I'm wondering if this is because I stopped progesterone last week. Do you all think I should ask for a level? I read on-line that spotting is common around week 12 due to formation of the placenta. Did anyone else have just light spotting around week 12 for this reason? Really, I don't need anything else to be worried about, do I?

Hi everyone -

Wow, I looked into cord blood banking and had no idea is was that expensive! It seems like Viacord is 2250- to get started then 125- per yr for storage
The other one was Cord blood registry and they were 2195- to get started and then 125- per yr for storage. So now I feel confused, but its a one time decision I mean if you dont and then God forbid find out later that you need it, then what? I think we kind of have to with no biological connection, I could never forgive myself if something happened. Jeez - its so unfair how very expensive infertility is!

Karen - Whew! for not having to take blood thinners! Alot of girls says they get painful after awhile. So most likely Team PINK? Tee heee, hope you have a lot of bathrooms, because when they get to be teens, you may never get to see an open bathroom again. isnt it funny how babies keep having their size compared to friut? Like this week mine should be the size of an apple - but a stick of butter? I've never heard that one before, love it!

Ronda - I'm with you, my libido went on vacation months ago and hasnt been seen since! How are you feeling? Has your m/s finally backed down, I hope?

Tammy - I hope you're healing and your balloon releasing idea is a beautiful one. - xoxo

Lou - Your little bump is adorable! Now you can see it right away. My OB wasnt able to get the HB on the dopplar at 11w6d, but at the next appt 14w6d he got it on the 1st try. I'm so glad that your Grandmother is home and well, but yeah, somw answers would have been nice too. Its frustrating to not get a reason. OK, no more Dr Google for you! If I were you I would take advantage of having an OB that knows all about us crazy IVF women and hopefully slide another u/s in there? At the very least she will tell you to stop beating yourself for no reason and enjoy your belly. And I'm with her  I have been lucky and not had spotting other than a tiny bit which i think was the crinone. yes, definitely ask for a P4 level tomorrow, my OB offered to run mine anyway even though my RE is still on the job. You were right my friend, I DO remember you saying "take the embies " and that it would work, and here I am! yay! Please try to stop stressing this baby. The baby is fine, but stress isnt - babies dont like it.

Helene - No, my RE isnt about the $ at all, he sometimes doesnt even charge for all this extra b/w. He just likes at least 30 for a P4 level and mine had dropped to 20 last time- ugh. But now that it went up to 33.7 I think he just wants to make sure it doesnt drop again. I actually hadnt thought of donor embies prior to my RE offering them to us, I was thinking of a DE cycle - but at 30k!?!? We would have been waititng a long time for that. Now that I know donor embies are 1/3 of the cost, thats fine by me. But there just arent easy to come by at all. Oh no! you have to move in a week? and possibly may be laid off too? OMG! Thats a lot of stress at once to take. I'm sorry that you've got all of that on your plate.

Babyluv - Hee heee, yep, my RE must want to be the Godfather, either that or he'll have to release me or deliver me! Ha Ha I hope you have a great spa weekend with no spotting at all! rest up, girl

Hazel - Are you back yet? We miss you!

Steph - Oh no, it takes a lot to embarrass me! I just seem to have no interest in naked time, there was too long to get here and I know its fine, but mentally, I just keep thinking about that little bean getting all shaken around! Crazy, I know. Yep, you hit the nail on the head, my RE would have said that exactly - "I'm the specialist" he even said that they dont forward pt entire charts because a reg OB wouldnt understand them anyway! And I tend to believe that since it felt like I taught my OB all about ivf at my 1st appt - sigh. How are you feeling?
