Dear Ladies
Busy week so only really time to catch up with you at the weekend.
Gill - know that you are now gone but hope that you have a fab holiday in Lapland - wish I was going too
Andrea - your tree sounds great. Waiting til next week to put ours up so it does not drop too badly.
Lucy - so glad that all went well at IM. I was knackered when I came back. Think it is all the anticipation of waiting and the releif too. Glad that you have now started the bcps. I was on them for about 3 1/2 weeks. Depends how easy you are to match! Don't worry about the short notice. We were told on Monday evening that we needed to be there on Wednesday. We booked it all on the net in two hours. It will be fine. I took my pessaries at 7am - 3pm and 11pm like JB. Did not want to stay up til midnight. The main thing is every 8 hours. You are on your way!!!
Kelly - you sound organised for Xmas and for your cycle. I did warpping last night! Cards last weekend. Tree next weekend. Hope that you can come up with a good excuse for your Czech trip in Jan
Sonia - hope that your lining is doing well. The acu etc is bound to help
JB - know that you are away. Busy girl. Glad that your gp was helpful. At least that helps. Hope that you are looking after yourself and managed to get some pressies for your dh
Jen1d - you have done so well to get all your svq done in double quick time. Sorry that you are feeling down. Know that you are frustrated with the s/w but the good news is that you have snow babies waiting for you. You can also progress the adoption in the new year so you have two good chances to get your baby. Try to enjoy Xmas as best you can. Big hugs babe
Chriss - 6 embies is great. REally hope that this will work for you and you don't need to worry about issues with your dh. But let me put what I know. My dh has fine motility and count. So we did not think that he was the problem. My issue is just because your dh has motility issues does not mean that he has fragmentation issues. Think that the two issues are unrelated. ICSI definitely helps if the issues are count and motility. Fragmentation is genetic. You can have a sperm fragmentation test run. That is what we had done before go 5. It showed over 50% fragmentation - same as Kelly. That does not automatically mean ds. IM told us that my husband should have a TESA. Direct extraction of the sperm from the testes. Sounds dreadful but my dh just had to lide down afterwards with ice and a jock strap. He was up and about the next day. That is meant to help as the sperm is taken closer to source so the fragentation rate is lower. This helped our fert rate although still was not great. We will likely try again with my dh's sperm and then look at ds so you have lots of options if you can cope emotionally and financially
Anna - so hope that you are enjoying the run up to Xmas with Matthew
Rebecca - hope that the two beanies are doing well. Do you know the sex yet?
Hugs to everyone else.
Been busy with Xmas parties/plays/drinks. I am determined to enjoy it and not get too down. Although was a bit teary in Sainsbury's when I realised that the only aisle that I did not need to go down was the nappies and baby food!
Our appointment at ARGC was really useful. They are going to give me some extra drugs to support my next cycle to help both blood flow and implantation. They will also re-run the immune tests on me. We talked a lot about my dh's sperm. They felt that TESA was a great way around the issue although it cannot solve for the problem. They felt we should try again with my dh's sperm and then look at ds. Just scared of another two cycles and another two negatives. Let alone the money we are spending. Anyhow they did tell us that we should carry on. Think that is what I wanted to hear..........
Anyway, hope that you are all enjoying the holiday season as best as we can. Slightly less busy this week which is good. Cannot take the late nights like I used to
Take care special ladies.
Lots of Love
Carolyn
