Hello everyone,
Rebecca, my Gosh, if your Dr made you feel bad about c section i could only imagine what she would think of me, since mine is a scheduled one. People are judjmental, trust your instincts and don't let anyone make you feell bad about your decisions. My baby is 29 percentile and my OB thinks that it is just fine, your babies are not that far in percentile comparing to mine, so don't worry about it too much.
I am going for my 3D US on tuesday to measure the growth, i will let you know , but i honestly don't think that my girl will be that much bigger percentage wise.
I am very curious about Cocoa, I hope she has had them already, it is soooo exciting!!!!
WC, Mandy, Aliann, Kipatte, Babyb, Hayley, Croella and anyone else i am forgetting,
GOOD LUCK!!!!!!

By this time, BOTH Cocoa and WC should be holding their little ones, am I right? If so, CONGRATS TO YOU BOTH!!!! I can't wait to hear about your babies and hopefully even see some pics.

Well, I made it to 32 weeks and now I'm counting the days/weeks. 3 people have commented that I've dropped. I'm actually very excited about this. I see that most of you twin mommies are making it to 36 weeks (even a bit over). I hope this doesn't sound terrible, but I cannot imagine going beyond 36 wks. In fact, if I delivered at 35, I'd be just dandy (as long as the babies are OK, of course). I'd even go so far as to say, I'd be ready at 34 weeks, but I'm still working (GOD IS IT HARD!!!!) and want at least a week of rest for myself before the big day.

Croella, I imagine you are very close too. What am I saying, we are ALL close -- Vlada, Rebecca, Kipatte, Aliann, whoever else I'm forgetting . . . Good luck to all.

My housekeeper just arrived so I must bounce. I want to start washing baby clothes and crib bedding. Goal is to pack my hospital bag this weekend. Still on the hunt for a doula or nanny -- not a fun search.

Take care.

Cocoa, WC, any news? like baby b said, I guess you are tied up with your beautiful little babies but let us know how you all are when you have time, been thinking about you both constantly!

Baby B - the end is in sight for you too, 32 weeks is a great milestone for twin mummy's-to-be!

Thanks Rebecca. At 35 wks and 6 days, you should be ready to go any minute yourself, no?

Twin moms, I have a question. When did you start to drop? I feel like my stomach is in between my thighs and my lower back and hips are killing me. The pressure in my pelvis is a bit overwhelming as well. I keep thinking I won't even make it another 2 weeks, but I see that most of you are surviving until 36 plus weeks. This is my 2nd pregnancy and I read that while lightening and engagement occur in first pregnancies as early as a month before delivery, such is not the case in subsequent pregnancies and in fact, usually doesn't occur until right before delivery. Oh incidentally, my stool has softened quite a bit after being constipated for so long (sorry, TMI). I recall the same thing happened right before I delivered my daughter. Anyone else going through the same thing?

LADIES

Had my babies on Thurs April 3

4:13 p.m.-Boy, 6 pds, 6 oz
19.5 incheslong
4:14 p.m. girl 5 pds, 10 oz
18.5 inches long

Came out Yowling!!!!
GORGEOUS babies...37 weeks! NO NICU, NO issues...healthy buggers...
they are sooooooo adorable .

My husband has changed ALL the diapers, all dirty ones  and he won't let me do anything but feed them, he has done everything ("You birthed them! It is my turn to do something!")

Th I had a scheduled OB appt, but woke up with high high BP, elephant trunk legs...so we headed to the hospital and checked in around 1:00, by 3:30 I was at the operating room...

Was put on Mag sulfate (YUK...makes you LOOPY) for 24 hrs...
Very sick for a day or two...
NOW I AM FINE

WE ARE SO IN LOVE WITH THE BABIES
TIPS FOR TWIN C-SECTION MOMMIES

--Take your pain meds. Don't be 'heroic' and skimp...the meds are necessary, as you are basically sliced open..

--Leave the babies in the nursery to be cared for overnight, as you are in NO SHAPE physically to even get out of bed initially, let alone care for babies at night.

--Buzz the nurses for help at all times with your babies, if you are alone for awhile...I had nurses come in just to hand babies to me if I was lying in bed (as it was sooo diff. to get up on my own)

--HAVE AN ADVOCATE THE FIRST 2 NIGHTS...my husband spent the night on Friday, as Nurse Ratchet (or Lucy and Ethel) seemed to be the ones caring for me in the nights, and they were awful....

I was refused my pain meds on Fri night by a woman who called herself the MEAN NURSE (total c u next tuesday)....and lied to us and said I could ONLY have the pain meds every 6 hours...it was 3:15 in the morning, the pain was overwhelming, and my husband, as you know a doctor, asked her about the 'order' and it indeed was every 3-4 hours....he told her to give it to me, as it was NOt HER CALL BUT my OBs...she backed down.
I was in too much pain to argue. He could not believe she was trying to withold meds to someone who'd just had major surgery.

MAKE SURE SOMEONE IS RUNNING GUARD FOR YOU in the first 24-48 hrs until you feel well (I was very ill, on lots of meds, and easily bullied).

We love love love our babies....

I am BFeeding and topping off with fomula, the babies took to it immediately ... I so hope I can continue it!

hopefully Dear Cocoa has her babies in her arms...and her OB has been tossed from a truck into a burning firepit

LOVE TO YOU ALL
BaBY b...I joked that I 'had a hernia" above my pubic bone...as I was a c-section candidate, I paid no attn. to the 'dropping' issue but some people said I had...

So fortunate to have healthy healthy babies and be healthy again myself..
but the edema is awful....and will be this way for sev weeks. yuk.

WISHING YOU ALL HEALTHY FINAL WEEKS>>

Woodcliff:

So awesome to get news from you. I am sooo happy for you. Thanks for the tips. I am reading them to my husband.

What did you decide on the cord banking?

Let me know how long it takes for you to walk stairs comfortably. Will I be able to go up the stairs if I come home on the 3rd day from a C-section?

Congratulations!

Woodcliff darling, a big hug from me (not to smoosh you too much though). I congratulate you and can only imagine how happy you and your DH must be...Please extend those congratulations to your darling, darling hubby who is obviously taking great care of you...Next time you find some second to write tell us about your babies:)

Cocoa sweetheart, I hope that you are as happy as WC, and that your pain is subsiding too...

I am still pregnant
   , had some cramping, can feel that everything is stretching down there, but still no serious labor pain... Today I have my acupuncturist app (he made an app just in case, but didn't believe that I'll show up), and same thing with my doc app tomorrow:) Both my acu. and doc were sure I'll give birth by now:) My darling baby girl is funny, she kicks with her lags and kind of pushes with her head, but then she finds a comfortable position and continues sleeping

I'll let you know...

For the rest of you ladies in waiting(  ) hang in there, I am up to date with your post.

WC, congratulations!!! I too was in tears when I read your post - just so happy for you and your wonderful DH. You did so well and the babies weights are great. Looking forward to hear more news. Thanks also for the tips - will make sure I share them with my hubby as it's great advice. take care of yourself and here's to a very speedy recovery. Big hugs to your gorgeous babies.

Cocoa, we're all thinking of you and can't wait to share in your happy news too.

Croella, you have done great - any time now!!

Kipatte, Mandy, Shantela, vlada - wishing you all the best for teh final count down.

I'm just back from my NST and OB appointment - still hanging in there and doing well. Babies passed their NST and my BP is still low. She checked my cervix though and told me that i was 80% effaced (sp?).... but no dilation....she told me i needed to rest!! could this mean that I won't make it to next Monday?? I guess my trip out to BRU this afternoon should be cancelled.

sending love to all, am so happy for all of us XXX

PS. will we keep the thread going when all our babies are hear? I would love to keep in touch and share experiences.

WC congrats thats exciting that it ended upi happening on its own time, how fantastic to have the babies here.

Cocoa, I am hoping that all is well with you happy healthly babies.

Croella, I think our girls are on the same page they just want to stay in there warm and cozy.

I had an OB appt today I am dilated 1cm but still pretty thick, and she needs to come down more he says she is still up there a ways. So nothing exciting he will see me again in a week but told me to feel free to go into labor anytime she will be fine!

Hello Ladies,
I had my OB appointment today and i have gained 2 pounds in one week, so she thinks it is all water retention, my ankles are swollen too, so now i am off salt again and i can't eat anything from the can or jar like mayo, can food etc. And i am measuring small again, dang it! So, tomorrow US will show my little girl's growth, i am nervous again.
My cervix is soft that is about it, however my OB could feel the baby's head during teh exam, freakyyyyy.
I really hope i can keep her till april 23rd, but if she is not growing properly again, i guess they will take her out earlier.
Well ladies, who is next? :D

WC: I am so excited for you and your DH (he sounds wonderful, by the way). How amazing that you are holding your little ones. I'm so impressed by their weight too. I purchased about 7 or so preemie outfits assuming my twins would be small, but by the sounds of it, that may not be the case.

Cocoa: I really hope you have delivered as well and your little ones and you are doing well. Hoping the silence just means you are absorbing the wonders of mommie-hood.

I had my OB appt today. Vlada, my OB could feel the head of one of my boys as well. Thought this meant I had dropped, but NO! OB just says the weight of the twins is pulling me down. Cervix is still pretty long and nothing is happening as of yet. I guess this is great news for the boys -- they really must cook longer. I just need to toughen up as I'm a bit of a baby myself right now just begging to be done and holding my nuggets.

2 more weeks of work -- ugh! I really hope I can find a replacement this week and get my desk clean. I'd like my last weeks to be as stress free as possible.

I'm sure I'll hear about lots more deliveries in the next few days. Good luck to all!
