Nwquiz - I don't know how anyone does it!! It's crazy how expensive it all is. There is no way I could ever do an IVF cycle after this one. Maybe a FET, but never could afford fresh.

Hi Ladies..

No im not POAS!! I am too scared!!!! I am still spotting. Not to be gross but now I am spotting alternating bright red and a pinkish color. I put a pad on and nothing on the pad just when I wipe it there. Its kinda like when you scrape your knee and you put gauze on it and u dab it and there is blood on it. I wouldn't be so worried except for the bright red part. No clots and not really any cramps just twinges here and there. Any advice? My IVF nurse said not to worry and try to relax. Yeah right!!! I dont have my beta until friday. I read on the internet that IVF you spot more especially if your implanting multiples.

hotgreentea (Sherry) - what really drove me mad was the HIMYM episode with the false positive --- wtf? How did she get a false positive pregnancy test? That's near impossible! The only way to get a false positive pregnancy test is to take some hCG, which is only given to fertility patients! They never explained that.... grrrr....plus - they are trying 4 months, finally get a BFP and then are relieved to have it be a false positive? WTF?------ are you starting your stims today? Congrats!

Tammy - GROW FOLLIES! Sorry for keeping that sad reminder up too long. I know that cousins aren't the same as siblings, but I grew up really far away from all my cousins (ironically, they grew up here in Israel and moved to the USA, so we missed each other!) - I'm glad your brother and SIL are having a cousin for Zach to play with!

nwquiz - thanks for the PMA. How are you? When do you expect AF? I think we'll be cycling close to each other (I'm expecting AF in another week)

Margi - so how does it work? Do you have to be in California (or wherever) for the whole cycle? Or can you stim at home and then go for ER/ET? What happens to your work schedule? Obviously, some things are more important than work, but no one wants to look for a new job in this economy!

Lauren1711 - I was looking up my two fresh cycles as references on what to expect. For one cycle, I had the ER on CD16 and the other was CD19 - for both I started stims on CD3 and it was an antagonist (Ganirelix) cycle. So 13 and 16 days of stims until retrieval (obviously, I triggered about 36 hours before ER). I had great eggs, great embryos and got pregnant both times. This time, the doctor mentioned that last time I had a 'slow start' - so we are starting with a slightly higher dose. I hope this helps you feel better about stimming so long!------ it's so good that your insurance covers this! I also look at what my price would have been without insurance - it's crazy!

Rio - NT was really fun for me - I was never worried about any of the trisomies (because of my age). I found that the NT was the first time that they actually look like a BABY instead of a blob. I hope yours goes great! HIMYM is really getting on my nerves....

Kristin (krcaja) - again, no advice, but lots of sympathy! I hope this is good spotting! It doesn't sound heavy enough to be AF.... Friday is only 5 days away!

sunshine 12 - I know you were expecting bad news - but did you hear back about your beta yet?

What happened to Lynniecat? She was ready to do ER/ET and then she disappeared again. I hope everything is okay with her.

AFM - endo biopsy tomorrow! We aren't looking for anything, just here in Israel they discovered that doing a biopsy in the month before the IVF can really increase pregnancy rates. They are now doing clinical trials around the world to test it - but my doctor says 'why not try it?' so we are. The basic idea is that scratching the lining makes it have to heal itself and the proteins/chemicals of healing can help implantation. It's worth a shot!

I'm decided to stop my BCP on Friday instead of Saturday. Thursdays at my clinic are crazy busy with all the women coming before the weekend (clinic is closed Fri & Sat) --- so I'd rather do my CD3 S&S on a Wednesday - why not? I'll clear it with the dr tomorrow but I'm sure it will be fine.

I'm finally getting excited about this cycle..... I've tried to calculate it all out - based on previous cycles, I should have a ER by Feb 20 --- that means POAS on March 6 (9dp5dt - I promised David I wouldn't do it earlier - but we'll see how strong I am!).... I've put that as my ticker! yay! 41 days until POAS!

Leora, my s&s is this morning: 9:15 PST. It's past 2AM now. My schedule is so eff'ed up though so I won't be going to sleep for a while. Maybe I'll study a little. Got a huge assignment due Monday night and I haven't even begun. I have senioritis. And all I can think about is babies, babies, babies these days - a bit distracting. Anyway, I'm officially on stim day 10 today. I guess I'll find out later today whether I'm triggering on Tuesday or Wednesday this coming week, but my nurse said my RE thinks the ER will be on Thursday. My E2 level on Friday was 608; nurse said she wanted to see it around a 1,000 by this time, but kept me at the same dose of follistim. RE thinks based on my number of follicles, my E2 would be between 2-3K when they trigger me. How fast does the E2 rise once it starts going up? 3 days before my 608 result, I had a result of only 90. Hopefully it's well over a thousand now. I don't know, I'm so confused. My lead follicle was at 13mm last time while my two smallest ones were at 7mm. Nurse doesn't think the 7's will catch up in time, but RE said sometimes even if they're small, they could retrieve a mature egg out of it, and even if it's not mature, they can continue to grow to be mature. She said, "we give each of them a try". So we shall see. Okay, I'm just rambling now. Good luck with your biopsy tomorrow. I have a gut feeling this will be THE one for you!

Margi - So glad you came to a decision on a clinic. As others have asked, I also wonder how it works being from another state. Looking forward to having you start your cycle!!

Thank you for all your prayers.. It was -ve as expected. I was putting on a happy face in front of my family and was not able to get to a computer yesterday..

Yesterday I surprisingly(even to myself) took the news very well and was getting very excited for our next cycle. I was telling dh that I can strongly feel that we are very close to holding our baby that I can't feel any pain but only excitement.. I dnt know what exactly changed. Now I am feeling very low and I want to run away from everyone. I need to pick myself up soon.

I will take a break for few days and will be back all recharged.. Till then take care all of you.

Leora - Thanks for the encouragement. Last night I read about how your DH said it would be cheaper and easier for you to have an affair. Then I had a dream about me doing it lol!!! It reminds me of that Heart song where she picks up the good looking stranger who was hitchhiking, just for that reason. If only it were that easy lol.

Tammy - Thanks for exlaining. I have been wondering why so people go to ER so fast and others take weeks!

SUNSHINE..I am so sorry to hear that. I know how heavy your heart must feel! I think you are fight though to try and keep your PMA (as hard as it is) and focus on your next cycle. I will say an extra prayer for you tonight for some peace. I know all of us going through this process need peace of mind, body, and soul more than anything.

Lou..hang in there lots of PMA and babydust to you as well.

Leora..wow what a great idea by your RE. it does make sense. I asked my RE and she said she has been reading up n it and it seems to increase success rates up to 20% on top of IVF rates so thats awesome!!!!

How long will this withdrawal bleeding last? I spotted, sometimes heavily, almost the entire time I was on the pill for suppression. Sure enough it started to taper off the last day I took it, but ever since I stopped the pills, I have been bleeding. It's not heavy, but it's still there and I am so tired of it already.

What does PMA mean?

Sherry - How many days has it been since AF started? Mine is usually a normal period lasting anywhere from 5 to 7 days. Twice it did not stop and my RE prescribed Estradial pills to use vaginally, which stopped the bleeding.

Lauren, why have you been stimming for 15 days? Are they purposely stimming you slowly or is it just the way you are responding?

Tammy, you will get that sibling for Zach... us 40+ ladies need to bring home some bfps! I am guessing we will be on a similar POAS schedule this cycle if I do IUI in a couple of weeks, right around your ET.

I have never ovulated on my own before CD 21 or cd 16 or 17 even on meds. Do you think with going full injectables I will trigger earlier than that? Just wondering how quickly it happens. I am pretty sure AF is here. I starting spotting early this am and working my way into full force, so I guess today is CD 1... I have to call RE's office tomorrow and schedule my first u/s - they said they check for cysts and I guess they do an antral follicle count, is that right? I hope all goes well and I have a bunch to work with. Time to wake up the senior citizen eggies in my ovarian rest home! LOL I'll start sucking down the geritol and ensure to give them some life!

CJ - The longest I have ever gone is triggering ion night 15. This time it's already night 16 tonight, and I dint think I will trigger til later in the week. I guess he is doing it on purpose since he decreased my Gonal F from 450 to 300 on night 6 and has not increased it yet. I also take 150 menopur. I have never heard of anyone doing more than 2 weeks, so I hope it's normal.

Tammy - I am feeling better, but I can tell you aside from a few side effects I really don't feel pregnant. I hope I get a BFP & get a nice surprise.

So I have to tell everyone my experience at church last night. It was child dedication night where the parents bring there new born babies up & dedicate them to the LORD. They promise to do their best to teach them the faith so that they would come to know & love Jesus. So I must say it's hard to watch when you wish you had a baby, but they were very cute. But it was what happened prior to the dedication that surprised my husband & I even more. Our associate pastor got up & spoke of difficulties that we may have and need to bring to God & that we need to trust God in all things. For him it was the desire to have a second child. He went on to describe that him & his wife had a rough go the first time around with their little girl. They went through 7 rounds of IVF before conceiving her. And so now he is hoping & praying for a brother & sister. I don't know that they are going through IVF again right now, but it does sound like they are trying without success. My husband & I just held each other, knowing his pain. It made me think of everyone hear on this board. I admire the persistance & faith of all of you & I am praying for you. It was good to be there at church knowing we are not alone & knowing that "In all things God works for the good of those that love him." I know he was watching over us & I know he is watching over you too. Just had to share.

lauren- am not sure of the time but i usually stim for 9 days and trigger on cd 12. but i think it depends again on how you resopond to the meds. all the best. let those follies grow grow and bring on that bfp.

Well I tested yesterday and today and got negatives not even a faint line. So it's not looking good. I couldn't use first morning pee because I would get up at 4 to pee and I'm just too sleepy to pee on the stick but I've held it for at least 3-4 hours when I do it. I would think by today I would have at least a faint line. I know it is still very early and the percentage of people who actually get positives this early is low. I'm 10DP ER and 7 dpt. My tests I ordered never came in so that was from an EPT. I'll test again when the others come in. My boobs have gotten really sore overnight and I've been totally exhausted and headaches and dizzy spells, gassy etc. Just feel like crap all around. It comes in waves though. I feel like this every cycle a week before my period.
