Tammy - if the accupuncture worked last time, you may as well go for it. It can't hurt! I am going to do it on ET day only. Mostly because I am lazy and don't want to drive back again lol. I don't remember much about what my follicle sizes were on trigger day. I have not been writing down sizes like I did in the past. I just know I had 6 between 12 and 15mm. Don't stress out about it.

Cakes - 11 is great. It's about quality not quantity. I hope they fertilize perfect!

AFM - S&S tomorrow. I don't care if I only get 6 eggs. I hope there are 3 perfect ones and they can discard the rest. If I get frozen ones my INS will make me do a FET (if this does not work). I did not have a very good experience with that FET, so I would rather do another fresh cycle. I have 2 frozen from February, but I guess they don't require FET if there are only 2.

Hi girls,

Can't get my mind off of ER tomorrow so I'm checking in again. I'm sooo nervous and also very hopeful. I had felt twinges in my ovaries throughout the entire stimulation but since the trigger shot, it all stopped. I feel nothing. I even asked DH if he thought my follies were still there...lol. He thinks I'm silly for asking. I know I am.

Sher -- Keeping you in my thoughts for your beta on Weds. The spotting could be for any number of reasons and not all of them bad!

Ester -- OK, I'm starting my special AF dance for you. She needs to get her ass here so you can get started on this cycle. And thank you for saying we're a cute couple. We've been married 15 years this year and we've never been closer.

Tiger -- There you are! Don't you give up your PMA at this point. You've got 4 follies and thus 4 chances here at getting pregnant this cycle. I know how hard this is... but we ivf women are the strongest out there. We also pick each other up when we're down. C'mon girl... this could be it. I'm going to be hopeful for you. I'm glad you liked our pics too. DH and I love to travel... but we are very ready to move on to the next part of our lives with family.... God willing.

Lauren319 -- Your RE will trigger you when your follies are between 16-20 mm. You are on the right track if they are growing 1-2 mm per day and your E2 is rising. You might not get all 10 of them mature at the same time, but your RE will do his best to get the bulk of them. The only study that showed acupuncture to be of benefit is a German study. They did acupuncture right before and after embryo transfer. So if you are going to do it, those are the two sessions you should be sure to book. See if there's a place by you that specializes in fertility acupuncture. Many chiropractors do it as well. Last cycle, I used a place called Pulling Down the Moon. Pullingdownthemoon.com. I think you will trigger at the end of the week! As for pineapple and tea.... no science behind them. Just anecdotal reports. Can't hurt, right?

klinger -- Thanks for the luck and picture love. XOXO

Amanda -- Oh I'm so sorry your first beta was low. It might not necessarily be bad though. How many days post ovulation were you? It's true that low betas commonly don't turn into viable pregnancies, but sometimes they do. I will be praying that is the case for you and your beta rises steadily.

fitzjr -- Good luck on ER Weds! Sounds like you will get a whole bunch of eggs!

cakes -- 11 eggs is really great! Hopefully they will all be mature and fertilize so RE can pick the best of the best for your transfer.

Lauren1171 -- Good luck on SnS tomorrow! Gosh I wish I had some frozens to work with. You are lucky on that respect.

AFM -- Anesthesiologist called me and I go in at 7:50AM for ER. I'm sooo nervous. Nothing to eat or drink after midnight for me. I'll update you all after I'm home and feeling like myself again. My first ER I ended up in so much agony that I couldn't move without horrific pain. I didn't know that wasn't normal. RE told me to take ibuprofen if I needed it and I was so pissed off because what I was feeling was waaaay past ibuprofen. It worsened throughout the day and really got bad by 9pm or so. DH wanted to take me to the ER but I wouldn't go because the thought of someone touching me was so bad. In hindsight I was stupid because I could have had an ovarian torsion and not known it. Luckily by morning I could move again. The second ER wasn't like that at all. RE said that there was probably some inflammation on a nerve that first time. I hope that doesn't happen again. I told DH that this cycle is going to work because this time I am not taking "NO" for an answer damnit!

Ronda --- Thanks so much for cheering me on. It really means a lot to me. I'm sorry to hear it's the end of your journey but I'm so happy you were able to create a family with fertility treatments. You are a success story and proof that it does work. Thanks for being an inspiration.

Hi All,
Quick response to everyone to thank you for all of your support for my meltdown the other day. It's so nice to have so many understanding souls out there that pull people out of such deep disappointments and cheer us on when we need it. You are all soo wonderful!!! Crazy day! So sick of Chicago's "Construction Season"! Almost wishing for the other Chicago season "Winter". It would be nice to make one journey without sitting in 1 lane traffic in a construction zone! :? Went to accupuncture today. She gave me more herbs for my "tea". She claims I have kidney issues. She's not off base on this. I have had minor kidney issues since I was a kid and a major infection a few years ago. Hey, I'd eat rocks if I thought it would help me have a baby at 46. MMM! minerals  . She keeps telling me the "tea" will help me get good eggs. I was also told to change my diet- no alcohol, sugar, white potatoes, caffeine, cheese, chocolate. Since that's my diet, without the chocolate and caffeine, I'll have to make some major changes. I'll keep you posted.

Lou- I'm wishing you all the best in the morning. :D You have enough on your mind right now, I'll give you details on my herbs later. Quickly, I will tell you that they are all labled with Chinese Alpha name, English alpha name and botanical name and description with a code date. My cousin, who is into that stuff, said they sound like blood cleansers. I thought it would come in a bag that I would get arrested for if caught with but everything was individually labeled. I was impressed! Anyway, good luck to you tomorrow. I've been follie dancing alot for you! :D Good luck!!!! Let us know how things went. Looking forward to your update.

Not alot of time for personals, but wishing everyone my prayers and best wishes!

Lou: wishing you a great ER in the morning... Lots of mature follies!!! (And I too loved hearing about your evening with little Sydney :-)

Cakes: 11 eggs is great! Rest up for transfer...

Amanda: As you can see I TOTALLY relate with the low betas...I have done lots of research and it can really go either way from what I am reading and what women are reporting here and on other boards. I am trying my best to remain hopeful--but trying to be prepared if all doesn't go well. As they said, it is really in how it progresses more than anything else. I had a 4th Beta level taken today, so I should know tomorrow...and then HOPEFULLY I will be going for u/s. I think this "Beta Hell-worry" is worse than 2ww...hoping for the best for you.

lou good luck tomorrow!!!! everything is going to go great dont worry!! i'm thinking of you! xoxo
let me know how it goes after you get some rest!

es i've already had enough of AF so you can have her!! i am sending her to CT. right now!!

amanda as of now you are pregnant!!! remember that! when is your next beta?? you can go to betabase.com and it will tell you your doubling rate when you get your 2nd beta! i'm crossing everything for you. i know it must be scary, but try to keep up your PMA ok??

afm so my new RE put in my pre-approval for my insurance, and will be ordering my meds for me!! i went out and bought the really expensive ovulation kits (man i used to by the cheap ones all the time back when i thought this whole TTC thing would be easy!!) it brought back a lot of memories of fading hope month after month of getting my LH surge and then...nothing!
so in 10 days i have to start testing for my surge and then i call my RE and let them know. then 10 days later i start the estrogen/ cetrotide until i get AF again. its a totally different protocol, and i dont know too much about it...i think some google-ing is in order...i am hopeful that it will be the right protocol. its scary to be with a new RE after over a year and 5 cycles with my old one.
i'm off to bed...sorry for the short personals recently...i'm still getting over our BFN, and i only have the attention span to do a few at a time, but i am thinking of you all always!

Hi girls

Thank you so much for your kind words and support I REALLY appreciate it. Sorry for the delay in response but this was a tough weekend full of tears. We chose to stop the PIO on Saturday and are ready and waiting to jump back in. Spoke with the RE and he feels this was some sort of an accident as far as the low betas and is confidant that this will not repeat. Now just trying to be positive, after all this was our first IVF and we were lucky to enough to see a BFP. I spoke with the nurse today and she said that they will be monitoring the levels to see how they drop and then in a month or so we can do this again so hopefully September will be our lucky month. At least now we know we can get pregnant. The only thing is that this holding pattern is very difficult- meaning we stopped the PIO 3 days ago but still no bleeding so the wait is very sad and emotional... no make matters worse my 10 year old's football season started today and DH and I were greeted by our friends with countless new babies...ugh not what we anted to see today. So here we are now just hopeful to hurry up and do it again.

Amanda and Margi hang in there miracles do happen. if you saw Mellow4 from the June cycle her betas were like mine and she saw a heartbeat this week so it is totally possible and I will keep you girls in my prayers.

Lou--I am hoping and praying for lots of mature follies for you in the morning! :) It's going to be a good day! Good luck!

Tiger--Hey friend! I was wondering about you. I am so happy to hear that you're going for it again. Four follies is great! Every time is different. This could be IT for you. Fingers crossed!

Franny--You are such as strong girl! You keep us all going!

Chili--What's in your tea? My guy said to have organic raspberry tea. It says on the box for female fertility. I am not a tea person and only have it once a day, sometimes two. I also take herbs. I get them from him, so I have no idea what's in them. I take 16 a day...it's gross. It's probably sawdust and he's laughing because he's charging us girls $30 a bottle. Like you said...I'd eat rocks if it would help me get pregnant. Maybe a change is exactly what you need. Go for it!

Cakes--11 eggies is awesome! :D Can't wait to hear the fertilization report!

Ester--Did the AF dance for you! I'm sure she will be there in tomorrow!

AFM...I've been very busy. Today the housekeeper, carpet cleaners and gardener came. The realtor came and took pictures. My house looks great! Could be the cleanest it's ever been. I don't want to leave it. My DH is a nervous wreck. He made an offer on the house and they accepted, but it's contingent on selling ours. Our realtor for the new house said that 40 people looked at it yesterday. The house is in Atherton. I have seen pictures and that's it. DH wanted me to go and see it, but I thought it would be best to wait until we are further into the process. Why waste a plane ticket if it falls through? He has excellent taste anyway. I trust him. Our house here is great. It really is. The problem is that most houses in Atherton sell in a week and for list price or above. Our realtor says that she doesn't think that we will have a problem selling ours, it's just about doing it before someone offers them more cash. I say that if it's meant to be, then it will happen.

I looked at some donors this morning and called 2 agencies. One girl I was interested in was in a cycle. The other one had gotten a tattoo and can't donate for a year after. I will be calling more tomorrow and try to narrow it down by the weekend. On a side note, last Thursday when I went to my acupuncturist he said that I should get my husband's sperm tested again by a fertility lab that breaks it down completely. He said that it didn't matter if he had 150 million, if they swam in circles it wouldn't do us any good. Well....he did it on Friday and it came back good. So, there was my false hope. I was hoping that it was him and it could be fixed. DH was so happy it wasn't him. Great....that means it's me. I will be going to buy some ovulation kits tomorrow. This weekend we will be trying the old fashion way....just for funnzies! :D Like I said before, if it's meant to be, it will happen.

Good Night.

Hi girls..
Lou...Good Luck tomorrow!!! Sooo exciting! I hope you are getting your rest right now and have a terrific outcome tomorrow morning. Let us know how everything went...when you are up to it tomorrow night. Your story about Sydney...made me cry.
Such a sweet story. I think you should name your first future little girl Sydney. lol
My acupuncture doctor also follows the German protocol. I'll have to get the title of his book and send you the link...sounds like something that you might like. He also has a radio show on Sundays and has been on talk shows. He's pretty cool and I never even knew till recently that he was just down the street from me...and here I was driving an hour to an acupuncturist 2 yrs ago. lol Thanks so much for the offer...I sent you a PM. And, hey like I said...no worries...you have enough on your plate tomorrow morning than to worry about little ol' me. Good Luck!!! :D

Annashope...Gosh girl, I am just sooo sorry. That really sucks. I hope AF arrives quickly so that you can jump right back into the game again. Big Hugs.

Ester...Still dancing here for you! Hope the ugly witch arrives soon.

Amanda...As of right now you are pregnant!!! Congrats! So try not to worry about the numbers right now. It's all about the rise in numbers. They actually dont say double every other day...they only want to see a 66% increase...and even then...I have seen increases of less than 66% still make it to a healthy baby. I honestly think the 2ww has nothing on the beta waits. It just plain stinks. Big Hugs and PMA.

Franny...Scary, but soo exciting that things are moving right along with a new RE. You will be pregnant in no time. Yayy!

Margi...Good Luck on those beta numbers today...let us know!

Sher...Love your attitude. WTG on the PMA! Sending lots of prayers for a BFP on Wednesday.

Cakes...11 is awesome!! WTG! Get some rest now! Looking forward to your fertilization report.

Chili...Good Luck with your new diet, tea, and everything. Sounds very promising and exciting. I need to watch my fertility diet too...as far as cheese, potatoes, sugars, carbs...starting now...as I've heard great things about it.

Ronda...I'm so sorry to hear that it is the end of the road for you. Best wishes!

Fitz...Wow! Sounds like you have alot going on in there! Sooo awesome! Good Luck on Wednesday! Keep us posted.

Tiger...Soo good to hear from you. PMA girl!!! Good Luck today and tomorrow! Sending you lots of hugs and prayers! PMA!!!

Kbillsy...How did everything go today? Hope to hear your update soon. Get some rest though.

Lauren319...Go to photobucket and shrink a picture first...then copy and paste the img code to your signature line. Let me know if you need more info. Everything looks good so far for you...it is early still, right? When did you start the meds again? If you want to get an acupuncturist...I'd do before and after the transfer...on the same day. Look for one that specializes in fertility...your clinic may even have a suggestion for you...and just follow their recommendations. I always have pineapple slushies...and it has always worked...so sticking with it this time too...and they're sooo yummy. But, really who knows if it really helps...it is possibly just a myth. lol

Miyaya...That is just nuts! I am so very sorry that they are putting you through all of that. It's really unbelievable and the system needs to change. Big Hugs to you.

Lauren1171...Good Luck on your SnS tomorrow. I dont go back till Wednesday...and we are expecting trigger then. I am doing acupuncture 2xs on the day of transfer for sure...and then maybe 4-5 days later...when implantation is expected to happen. My doc really agrees with the German protocol of doing it just before and right after transfer, as Lou talked about. You're right...my doc is a very infamous and intelligent doctor and I do trust him and his opinion...so I need to just quit worrying about the numbers and relax a bit. Really, I am just more interested in the process more than anything though. Funny that you should mention that you dont care if they only get 6 eggs...because that is exactly what I have been saying, but for a bit of a different reason. I had a 50% ratio going from 12 retrieved to 6 good ones to put back in on transfer day and to freeze in Jan '08. We put back 3 with Zach and got 1...froze the other 3...and then put those 3 back in last April and 1 took even though I miscarried. So if I get 6 eggs retrieved ...I am hoping that we will get 3 good ones and put them all back again...with nothing left to freeze. I will even be happy with 4 good ones to put back. I just dont want any to freeze again. Why? Cause I have issues...with feeling like my babies are frozen in time. I only want 2-3 kids (if twins)...due to finances and my age...so...I really dont want to donate them to science, leave them suspended forever, and it would just kill me to give them up for adoption...knowing that my children are out there. I would search every face on the planet ...trying to find them again. None of that really hit home or made sense to me...when going through IVF the first time...till we had Zach ...and saw for ourselves what these embryos (babies) turn into. They are more than embryos to us now. Bill feels the same way. It is difficult to explain, really. So really my disappointment in my numbers has more to do with me realizing that my ovaries are getting old, that I am getting old, that it may be too late for me to get good quality embryos at this point, and that menopause is just around the corner...than it does with trying to get lots of embryos for freezing....if that makes any sense...and dont make me sound crazy. lol

Karin...Cant wait to see pics of the new house, it sounds wonderful. I hope and pray yours sells quickly. I love that you are soo proactive and are on the ball with getting things done. Goo you! Sorry that DH made you feel crummy about it not being him. Men. lol

AFM...SnS went okay today. Looks like 6 are in the running and 2 more lagging behind. Not great news...but really it is all about the quality for me at this point, as I was just saying to Lauren. I now have an E2 level of 878 (started out as 5 on baseline day). My lining is 13mm...which is perfect. I did have to go pick up more follistim...stupid nurse just cost me another copay...cause she didnt calculate enough for me in the first place. Thank God the fertility pharmacy is just down the street from the clinic. I go back on Wednesday for another SnS and will most likely trigger Wed night...maybe Thursday. I will know more after my E2 levels come in Wed afternoon.
I have follies on both sides of:
19x15 (they average this to actually be a 17 and so on for all of them)
17x16
16x13
16x13
13x11
11x10
8x8
another less than 10
Cardiologist appt went just fine...I knew it was nothing. Blood pressure was terrific, too.

Tammy - I'm on Day 8 now, but because it's my first cycle, they decided to take the slow and steady approach. I also have to do PGD, so I'm guessing by doing it this way, they thought they'd get more eggs considering half of them will be unusable due to a disorder. I'm wondering if they did a different approach and just blasted me with drugs if I'd have many more. Just a thought. Anyhow, it looks like we'll be pretty close together though!
