Just a question for all: How much, if any, swelling did you experience in the end? I obviously remember Cocoa experienced a significant amount. In the last several days, my fingers and feet have really started to swell (can't even fit on my wedding ring which is typically large). My wrists are swollen and I'm beginning to feel bloated throughout my body as well. You hear about the water retention, but don't know how much to expect. Also, curious why this happens in the last stages of the pregnancy. I'm at the point where being on my feet in excess of 5-10 mins is UNBEARABLE! Don't know how I'm going to get through this last week of work training my replacement and finishing up deals I need to close. All I want to do is rest now.

WC: 37 lbs lost already!!!!!!! Holy!@&## It is melting right off.

Baby B, I was swollen during the final month...in my feet.
The day of the C section i awoke with elephant legs...and high BP...
Make sure your BP is on target.

I did not work so far into the pregnancy, I would not have made it. I hope you get to leave your job ASAP so you can focus on you and your health...

The swelling will go down a couple of weeks after birth..mine is almost all gone...but I was HUGE for the past week in my legs and feet...today it is mostly gone.

good luck...
Keep those babies inside of you...making it to 37 weeks has made all the difference for us...no NICU, and they are home and healthy. I know that is not the case for every twin but it does make a huge difference in how we can now care for them
best to you ALL

Hi everyone!

WOW WOODCLIFF, COCOA, KELLY - CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! Fantastic news!

I haven't been on for ages, just been so unbelievably tired. It's amazing to log in and see that we have another 6 new additions to our little family!

I am getting really nervous now, as it's exactly 1 week to my scheduled C section (next Monday). I feel like I'm going to explode so I hope I make it that far! Both babes are still breech at the last ultrasound, so I'm sure there's no chance of them turning now!

My DH did a plastercast of my big bump at the weekend, it's a nice keepsake! (was a bit uncomfortable to do but it didn't take too long).

Love to all!

Hi Girls:

Well BabyB - I gained 60 pounds of water weight - overall I gained 90 lbs. I was so swollen during the delivery that my OB said I was spilling fluid through my skin (and she resisted delivering but relented due to peri's rec - yet she said I manipulated the situation to get delivered early). WC - I hate her now too - she has caused me so much pain and grief and after my post partum visit this week that's it. Anyway, my swelling started at 31w 2d and just got worse and worse and no one gave me a REASON. I did go into the c-sec surgery with +30 protein and 130/80 BP. My BP was high the whole time post-partum in the hospital and I was not spoken to about it but sent home with the problem my OB caused. At a time where I am supposed to be the happiest in my life I have to deal with this crap. Even my DH is outraged... (he's being good to me). Now I am dealing with heart palpitations, painful throbbing behind my neck when I walk too much and shortness of breath (though I don't feel tight in my chest and my lungs seem clear). Well, so much for advocating for my health... I dare not tell my OB my symptoms because she'll say I am unstable and hypochondriacal.

My babies eat Boob juice and formula but at night I feed formula only since it holds them over longer. They are eating almost 3 oz a feed already!!! and they are almost at their birth weight (we saw the ped today) - only a couple of ounces off...

So - girls... I cannot wait for all our babies to come!!! CroElla you are so due - you may have even had her by now. Vlada - you are coming up on your date - 9 days to go...

I am so sorry to share my painful news but I do feel that I had to give you a little of my story because sometimes I just feel so sad that I cannot relish completely my family being all together because I live with the threat of that not being so with who I am being decided by people who know NOTHING about me.

Love and good health to you all - you are all my rock!!!

I'm counting the days now -- only 4 more days of work until I can finally rest. YIPEEEEEEEEEEEE. Boys have the hiccups all the time now -- feels so strange.

Cocoa: I can't fn believe after all you have been through that you have someone meddling in your life. Glad that DH is being nice to you. Does this mean that he's over his fear factor and ready to step up to the plate and be a father to twins? What about all that debt? Don't mean to intrude or be negative (seems like you have way more of that than you need or deserve on your plate), just want the best for you and your family. I HATE YOUR OB. HOW DARE SHE SAY YOU "MANIPULATED THE SITUATION" TO DELIVER EARLY. SHE IS NOT ONLY SUPPOSED TO BE A DR. TO YOUR BABIES, SHE IS SUPPOSED TO BE A DR. TO YOU AND I FEEL SHE COMPLETELY IGNORED YOUR HEALTH. SERIOUSLY, THAT MUCH WATER WEIGHT AND THAT HIGH OF A BP READ -- SHOUTS RED FLAG AND I'M NOT A DR. Just glad you had a good peri on your side.

Robinsonpr: Good to hear from you. Wow, you are getting so close too. Best of luck.

Rebecca: I'm sure you have delivered your beautiful babies by now. Just wanted to say I'm thinking of you.

Croella, Vlada -- I think you guys are next,, right?

Woodcliff: Hope all is well with your two precious babes.

I went to my OB today and my cervix is still long and closed so I don't think I'll be going anytime soon. As much as I'd like to be done, I know it is best for my boys (and that's the most important factor to consider). Once I'm done with work and capable of resting, I think the next 2-3 weeks of waiting will be much more tolerable (I hope, anyway).

WELCOME LITTLE ONES TO THE WORLD. IF YOU ONLY KNEW HOW MUCH YOU WERE LOVED BEFORE YOU EVEN ARRIVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Croella:

Congratulations. Awesome news and great weight and I am glad she is taking to breastfeeding. Hope I have that kind of luck.

Vlada: Good luck on the 23rd. My C-section is the 24th and I secretly wish my water would break before then.

These days I am so uncomfortable I prefer just to be unconscious which means trying to sleep as much as possible.

More later,

K

CONGRATS CROELLA! UGH -- my last pregnancy involved 23 hours of labor, but pushing was relatively short. I can't imagine 6 hours of pushing
Well, at least it's all over and you have your beautiful baby girl in your arms.

Vlada: Good luck next week!

Robinsonpr: Looks like you are going to 38 wks with your twins, is that correct? I know it is better for the kids to cook longer, but I've begged my OB for a C-Section at 36 wks 5 days. We will probably do an amnio if I make it this long to make sure the lungs are sufficiently developed. I'm told there are no risks in an amnio at this late stage.

Rebecca: Have you delivered yet? Can't wait to hear the exciting news.

2 more days at work -- yahooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mandy, Kipatte and anyone else I'm missing -- thinking of you and sending my best.

CroElla!!!! CONGRATULATIONS GIRL!!! I knew you had her in the last few days... I am so sure you are relishing every moment... keep every moment in your heart... Now you see how much we are capable of love. I mean even though we love our husbands and family NOTHING compares to the love a mother can feel for her child - now... get ready to worry everyday for the rest of your life! :)

Well BabyB I cannot imagine having worked past 32 weeks. My swelling got so bad I couldn't sit or stand for any length of time. It just so happened that my OB put me out for PTL at the same time I started to swell (my last day working was 31w 6d). I am happy that you could make it on this new job as long as you have. NOW - enjoy your "bed rest" - let yourself be pampered because once those boys come you will be in high demand. Though I must say that my babies are so good I can get up to 3 or even 3 1/2 hours sleep at one time. Baby girl even soothes herself back to sleep - its Baby boy who wants to keep sucking until he falls asleep and on some occasions that could seem like forever! :D Oh, and BTW - why do you want to give birth at 36w 5d?

Oh, I am so excited for all the babies yet to come! I just found out my baby girl was 19 3/4" coming into the world and baby boy was 19 1/2" - I dont' know why they didn't tell me that before - they didn't even write it down on the NICU card. They didn't even write my name on the NICU bassinette card!!! Like I am not the mother????!!!!!!!! I hated the whole hospital experience - my OB really ruined this birth etc... My DH is so livid about the whole thing - he is coming to my post-partum visit today and is ready to give her a piece...

Well, I am adjusting well. The pain improves each day yet I know why there is an 8 week recovery - whew - any efforts to resume normal activities causes exhaustion and even pain and nausea. I really have to learn to take it easy - I have always been a go, go, go person. Yet I do have to take care of my older son and I am managing well except for a few things I have to learn to put back into my schedule - like checking homework (my son hates homework...) Anyway, these babies are so good I cannot believe it! I also cannot stop staring at them! :D Daddy was crying with joy last night and he won't put them down. He is happy that I am happy and THAT'S nothing but God at work there!!!

So lets stay on this board until we all deliver and then we can start a thread on the "parents" board!!!! YEAY!!!!

Love to you all!!!!

Well, I just had my midwife appointment, the baby is 3/5 engaged, so has just moved 1/5 in the last 2 weeks, so I guess I could be looking at going over my time... :( but who knows!

I have now tried everything I can think of, Raspberry leaf, hot curry, sex, swimming, I didn't feel like it, but I even FORCED myself to nest, cleaning the whole house, thinking I could trick my body into thinking I was really nesting!!!!!! SO the only thing left is Castor Oil, :? but have decided to skip that one and I am now just going to wait patiently...YEAH RIGHT!

I am truly lost, I don't know what to do with myself, I went to work this morning but felt I was getting in the way, I think I will start cooking some meals for after I get out of hospital....we had our dog put to sleep a fortnight ago, so I can't even go out walkign with her...not that I can walk far now anyway!

Gosh, I sound like a total moaner!
