Hi Kat - which clinic do to go to? I go to Boston IVF. I did not hit that traffic today since I went to the Waltham office this morning. It was -2 when I left at 8AM, and 7 degrees when I got to work at 10. Who would ride a motorcycle in this cold especially with all the ice?

Lou - good luck with your transfer today!!!

Leora - I had another cheating dream last night lol jeez what is going on in my subconscious???

My lead follicle is 16.8 today and the others are still below 12!

Jeib - I have not had it but from what I know you need to drink tons of fluids especially Gatorade. I hope you do not have it because it does not sound pleasant!

Jeib-I showed signs very early on in my fresh cycle and they threatened to cancel me. I was drinking 72oz of Gatorade every day and it helped a TON! Please keep yourself hydrated because it can get very serious!!!!

Lou...thinking of you and your baby today! Best of luck!!!

Lauren- I was going to go to Boston IVF but when I called there she said my insurance wouldn't let me go there because none of the doctors there are OBGYN's. Weird insurance requirement, what's it matter if they have an OBGYN degree? I would think the main concern would be they are specialist in reproductive fertility. I wasn't happy as my OBGYN wanted me to go there and so didn't my MFM doctor. :( I go to Fertility Centers of New England in Reading which is super convenient with work and I dont' need to deal with parking and it's on my way to work. How do you like Boston IVF? If this cycle doesn't work I'm seriously thinking of switching RE's and going to one in Boston which is obviously closer to my house (though parking and traffic as you kow 3 miles can take you 20 minutes;). My gf went to Tufts and got pregnant first try with twins, so I may check to see if my insurance is accepted there.

I think they where on a regular peddle bike. Believe it or not I see them everywhere even in the winter and that's just crazy. It was on the corner of Tremont and Arlington. At least this time the driver of the car stopped. I think this is the 3rd or 4th death in Boston for a biker in the last year.

How many days have you been on stims? Did they give you any indication when they will trigger you?

jkulab- No I never had OHSS. I would call your RE immediately because my gf had it and there is a med they will add to your cycle to help.

Kat - That's weird that they are not OBGYNs. I assumed all RE were previously OBGYNs. I am going to ask him! I like my RE alot. I feel like I know him pretty well after a year and a half lol! Tonight will be night 17. I am waiting for the nurse to call with my instructions, but I know it will be to go back on Wednesday for another S&S. I imagine I won't be ready to trigger until Thursday or Friday. My friend went to Tufts too I think and got pregnant with twins first try! I hate going to Boston for appts even though I live closer. Traffic sucks! I would rather drive 95 to Waltham and actually move. It's supposed to snow (AGAIN) Wednesday too!!!

Hi girls,

I'm in the car on the way home from ET. We transferred one 8 cell high quality embryo. The transfer went smooth. The acupuncturist was awesome and saw images of pink butterflies which must be some kind of positive sign. Butterflies are symbolic of my mother anyway.

I'll get to personals later... After a good nap!

Sincerely, thank you all for your support.
XOXO

Kat, I got this from Boston IVF website.

Dr. Ryley, a native of the Boston area, is a graduate of the Tufts University School of Medicine. After completing his internship and residency at Tufts, Dr. Ryley practiced general Obstetrics and Gynecology at Newton-Wellesley Hospital from 1989-2002. He completed a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Harvard Medical School/Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in 2005, and has extensive experience in infertility, ovulatory dysfunction, recurrent miscarriage, and reproductive genetics.

Dr. Ryley’s research interests include the genetic control of oocyte maturation, IVF outcomes in patients with a decreased response to ovulation induction, and the effects of body mass index on female fertility. He has presented his research at the national meetings of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine and the Society of Gynecologic Investigation and his research has recently been published in Fertility and Sterility.

Dr. Ryley has co-authored book chapters on normal and abnormal sexual development with national leaders in the field of reproductive endocrinology and he is a clinical instructor at Harvard Medical School.

His interests also include the preservation of fertility for male and female survivors of cancer, as well as those who are undergoing treatment for cancer. Dr. Ryley was recently appointed to the medical advisory board of Fertile Hope, a national nonprofit organization based in New York that provides comprehensive support to cancer patients whose medical treatments put their fertility at risk. Dr. Ryley is also an active member of the International Society of Fertility Preservation.

Dr. Ryley is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology in General Obstetrics and Gynecology and hold a subspeciality certification in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. He is an active member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine, and continues to contribute to research in the field of reproductive endocrinology and infertility. He is on staff at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Newton-Wellesley Hospital.

In his spare time Dr. Ryley plays piano and is an avid sports fan.

Dr. Ryley sees patients at the Boston Center.

I have to run out the door so this is quick,

Lou - congrats on transfering a gorgeous and perfect 8 cell embryo and you are now PUPO with your baby, yeay for Lou! I am so stinking excited for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!

jkulab - weigh yourself all the time, if you are peeing dark color, tea like pee and you are not peeing what you drink then you might have OHSS. Drink tons of gatorade, V8, salty foods. Call your RE! This is serious.

Sweetpea - fingers crossed for that BFP, you are still early!

Anton - argh those were some insensitive remarks, I am so sorry. I am coming to visit you by the way - what a gorgeous place to live in!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lou- I'm smiling from ear to ear. I'm so happy for you. This is your BFP. Pink butterflies?? Does the color pink have anything to do with boy or girl?

Lauren-That's the doctor I was supposed to go see and when I called their office his assistant said that she called my insurance they wouldn't accept them because they weren't OBGgyn's. That's totally weird. I wonder why she said that. I'm calling my insurance company because i'm going to be pissed if I find out I could have gone there and she screwed up.

That's funny I wonder if we know the same girl because my gf also got pregnant with twins first try at Tufts. She lives on the South Shore. If it's not and you know another person I think I will definitely consider switching to them. How many cycle's has your insurance allowed you? Mine authorized me for 3 cycle's and this is my second. So I'm wondering if that next one will be my last or if I could possibly get another try.

Oh know if you have to go in on Wednesday witht hat other stomr coming but hopefully the Boston area it will turn to rain. Looks like most of the snow will stay North. Fingers crossed.

Kat - You should definitely check with your ins. Before I started my ins gave me a list of clinics they would allow. They pay for 5 cycles fresh or frozen. So this is #5!

When did your friend have her babies?

hotgreentea - was that your first day of stims? the injections aren't too bad, huh?

anton - you are so sweet! I definitely do love the positive energy on this board. I am obsessed with checking the board first thing in the morning, last thing before I go to bed, and several times in between while I'm doing my homework :P I keep troubling the poor tech to print out pics of my follicles every time we visit for our scrapbook, lol. But I figure we're paying big $$ for this, so why not, right? Today was the first time DH wasn't able to make it to an appt with me, felt weird w/out him there.

Kat - where did you order your test sticks from? it's sure taking a while! yikes, so sad to hear about the biker. that's terrible! :( DH has always wanted to get a bike, especially to make the commute to his work easier. I said "over my dead body".

Lauren - how many follicles do you have? Are the ones below 12 close together? Are they going to let the 17mm one go for you if the others don't catch up on time?

Jkulab - As others have suggested, lots of fluids and gatorade! Hoping you don't have it though.. heard terrible things about it! Good luck!

Lou - So excited about the transfer of your perfect embryo! Congrats on being PUPO! What a delight!

AFM - Just got back from my S&S. So my lead follicle is up to 20mm now! Yikes. Numbers are as follows:
2- 7's
1- 8
1-11
3-12's
2-13's
2-14's
3-15's
2-17's
1-20
If they let my 20 go, I could potentially have 12 good sized follicles, I'm assuming. I'm waiting on the call to see what comes next. From your expert opinion, do you think I'll be stimming for another couple days? Should I expect a retrieval for this Friday? Progesterone and Estradiol level to be reported later this afternoon. Another S&S tomorrow.

Last year. They are 10 months old. They were born premature.

So I just checked my insurance company and Dr. Ryley is listed as one of the doctors. I'm so not happy with his assistant because she wouldn't even make the appointment. It was so convenient to because my OBGYN is in the same building.

Hopeisallihave- Yay looks like you have quite a few. I wonder if he will trigger you tonigt. My tests strips have come in. :) POAS again strating tomorrow am. Trying to picture two lines in my head.

lou - 8 cell is great!! im praying hard for you..you deserve this baby!! take lot of rest and good care of your embaby..pink butterflies sounds like very good sign..keep them in mind for the next 2 weeks…
hope - that's some great report on your follies..you will be triggering any min now! good luck on ER and ET..
krcaja- that sounds exactly like implantation bleeding to me..good luck..! and go and pee on that stick already..
sweetpea - 10 DPO is too early..test again on 12DPO..im sure you will see that extra line..
darlene - thanks for your support..its great for your pastor to share his story..it gives strength to us to go through this tough phase..
nwquiz - looks like we will be cycle buddies..and really hoping to get a promotion to pregnant group this time..
kimber - great follie report!!
tiger - how was your U/S? 60% of endo patients have fertility issue. most docs recommend IVF, if you dnt conceive naturally within 2 years. some times endo can affect the egg quality and also implantation. but usually the reason is unknown regarding what causes infertility. my suggestion is to reduce the number of surgeries if your friend is planning to do IVF as too many surgeries can affect the number and quality of eggs. I have had 3 surgeries in past, so i think that might have affected my egg quality a bit. but sometime endo patients get pregnant naturally right after the surgery. so dnt know what will work best for your friend.
leorira - i guess we will be cycle buddies soon..i can understand your excitement..it is when we do these cycles that we get closest to having a baby..it is time to throw away those BCPs and start pricking! also please move me to waiting for AF when you get time..i have good feeling that end biopsy is going to help your cycle, sorry that it hurts though..
hotgreentea - good to hear that the bleeding has stopped..
anton - keep dreaming..PMA is good!! and those are some real insensitive friends..i guess all of us have a bunch of them to drive us nuts..whenever i cycle, i hear at least 1 close friend getting pregnant, right near the time i am about to get my BFN! it happened this time as well..
margi - i am so excited that you found your clinic..
afm- we decided to go with 1 more antagonist cycle..so we will be starting the stims again as soon as i get my periods.i have started spotting slightly and is hoping to get a full flow today night or tomorrow. common AF!

sorry if i missed someone..you are all a bunch of strong and wonderful ladies…be strong and keep PMA!!

Kat & Sunshine - when do they normally trigger you? Do all RE's suggest for the follies to be around 16-22mm for retrieval? Do the follies continue to grow after the trigger?

Kat - I'm picturing 2 bright pink lines for you, too! heck, let's even accept a faint pink line at this point if that means you're prego. Sending lots of positive vibes your way!

Sunshine - happy to hear you've come to a decision! c'mon AF!!
