Hi all
Hope everyone is doing well, howdy MLG

Tracii, dont hold out on us ... Whats the news!

Can I ask how many of you are feeling quickening or movement?

I know that there is part of my brain with the sole function of hunting out things to be worried about, but am 19 weeks and havent felt ANYTHING yet. I know they say its around 16-20 weeks before you feel the first flutters, and still have a week left, and its not clockwork for everybody, but cant help feeling a bit nervy that I cant feel anything. I am having odd anxiety that maybe the bones arent forming. I know this sounds crazy, but its what happened ot my sister in law.

Sigh. Hope your all good

Hi All...Everything went well with amnio..first results (FISH test) and all is normal :D :D ....and my intuition was correct..we are having a little GIRL. I cried-of happiness - when my doc told me...I actually had a perfect boys name picked out ...now the search begins with girl names and buying baby stuff. My mom is ecstatic...she already has 2 grandsons and was hoping deep inside for a granddaughter....boy will she be spoiled!

Sue - great news about the blood pressure..stay healthy in the heat.

Mel - I wouldn't worry about the movements...they say if it is your first you won't feel anything until the 20th week. If you are really worried..can you get another ultrasound soon?

Welcome MLG!! Hi to everyone I missed.

Mel, always something to keep our minds worried about, huh? The movements I feel are still so seldom and minor. So don't worry. Hey, you'll have the worries go away on Friday at your scan!!! I can't believe we're finding out the sex this week. Seems like we were just doing shots not so long ago.

Tracii, congrats! That's wonderful that your gut feeling was correct. I'm so glad to hear how happy you are about your little girl!

Sue, glad to hear your blood pressure went back down!!!

Tracii - congratulations! A little girl....oh, I could cry. It really is nice to go through this journey with everyone - from sad/scary news, to great, exciting news like this! Now you can do some serious shopping, and find a perfect little outfit for her to come home from hospital in!

Mel/Kristi - not long now for you guys. I can't wait. So far we have a 100% success rate with gut feelings of sex (well done Tracii) - lets see if you guys have guessed right!

I have been so concerned the last few days - nothing seems to be changing with my body, or any feelings, so am starting to think that the little munchkin has stopped. I wish my scan was this week.

Welcome MLG! It's so nice to see your colourful posts!!!

Hope everyone is well.

Hi Ladies,

Tracii - fab news on your little girl.

Just a quick post as not much time. Does anyone know if salad cream is ok? I have noticed that it contains egg yolk, on some bottles it says egg yolk, on others, dried egg yolk, which i presume dried is ok, but does anyone know. I keep forgetting to ask the midwife. I knew mayo was off but have never heard of avoiding salad cream.

Mel - I have not felt anything definate, there was once were i thought it may of been movement but on the other hand it could of been wind!!!! I think until our babies are in our arms we will always find something to worry about, for weeks i have been worry about incompetent cervix. 2 weeks until my next scan

loads of love

Hi all!
Lots of footie at the weekend - love the World cup!!!! Hope am still saying that after tomorow night!

Tracii - fabbo news about the baby being alittle girl. how exciting!! Let the shopping begin!!!

Sue - frankly reading different articles brings contradictions in what you can and can't eat. Image

With salad dressings, my understanding is that most "bought over the counter" products use pasteurised eggs and are therefore generally thought of as safe. It's the homemade dressings and mayo etc. that you need to avoid which generally use raw eggs. To be honest I've been a lot more lenient with myself as this pregnancy has gone on. Avoiding the biggies and still trying to eat fairly heathily but not quite so pedantic about it all! If I want something as long as it isn't totally banned then I'll have it! Am gagging for some runny eggs though! have been hard boiling all mine like it said to and have stuck to that one. Boiled eggs and soilders just aren't the same!!!!

How is everyone today? Any more scan/baby news??!!!
Has anyone booked their antenatal classes yet? If so did you go for Childbirth Trust or NHs ones? am seeing my midwife next week so will ask her opniion, just wondered what others had decided?

Also, anyone given any thought to using reusable nappies? I'm undecided and was hoping for an unbiased opinion from someone who wasn't "green through and through" or a "nappy salesman"! Sorry don't mean to offend anyone but I realise the environmental advantages just want to know just how much hassle they are? Really, honestly, truthfully!!! A crude question - do they have a "lining" that gets thrown away or does the whole thing - poo and all get put in washing machine? Wouldn't that smell if you didn't wash it straight away (after all you'd want to wait until you had afew before putting the machine on!). Help!!! :?

Cheers!

Hi Cla - I gave alot of thought to the diaper/nappie question and have decided to 80% cloth and 20% disposable(when travelling, going out ect...). There are some really great cloth diaper companies and one we will use was actually founded in Austria (but available everywhere)..and they have the throw-away bit. The company is called Popolini. It is really a personal choice and we just thought it would be healthier for the baby and I wouldn't feel so guilty filling up the land fill (I know there are areguments about washing and the environment as well).

How is everyone doing? Today I am really tired but may be the weather as well (humid). I went and bought some baby clothes...geez I could drop a bundle on cute little things....I need to start buying the 'useful'things now. We have decided on the Bugaboo stroller (chamelon)..cost and arm and a leg but they are VERY light (I take a lot of public transportation) and fold down nicely (fits into my car trunk).

Anyone have a good list on what to buy - including the quantity?

I felt my beanies move around the 14th week, it feels weird and my upper beanie kicks and stretches like there's no tomorrow...lower one's laid back...hahaha....I can't wait to find out what the sex of our lower beanie. I'm sure it's 2 boys. I'm happy to know that everyone's doing great..well my morning.noon/night sickness has left the building so far...however it was replaced by hardly being able to move around much..a trip to the bathroom is a task..getting out of the bed or positioning myself is something to see...however, I'm greatful..thankful and counting the days that go by....I now have a very low haircut..I figured watching it grow will help me loose track of time and before you know it.....I will be 37 weeks....yeahhhhhhh......

I have an appt tomorrow at 9ish.....I have to ask the doc for a couple prescription..1. Handicap decal 2. Walker on Wheels 3. Shower Chair......some may think this is a bit much for a pregnancy..but I'm there and need those things so I figured I could accept it or not and drown in the moment....I'll accept it and have realized that it's temporary. My family came from out of town to visit and they thought that I had lost my mind when I would tell them what was going on and how I was feeling..by saying..you will be okay and you should be able to do more than what you're doing...critical are some family members...and down right ignorant. When they arrived mouths dropped as they noticed how big my abdomen is. I think some of them ate grass/their own words.

Made me happ... :D :D :D :D :D to see their faces......
