First, let me say my baby is fine. I have been so sick. I thought I had strept but my coughing has gotten worse and I had to go the hopsital last night. I was freaked out about the baby but she is just trucking along. Turns out I have pneumonia and needed oxygen and an IV. Doing better today and home and in the comforts of my bed.

I will tell you I have had such a hard pregnancy. My IVF was fairly easy compared to others and really had a handle on it. Besides for the injections and some bad days emotionally I took it well. I am having such a hard time pregnant. I feel greatful and blessed everyday but boy is it a challange. I am praying my third trimester (almost there) will be a bit easier.

Hopefull- That sounds like a great amount retrieved, Here is hoping many or at least good quality get to the blastosite stage. That is the most important.

Those with morning sickness----fruit shakes (jamba juice) with a shot of protien in it was a savior. Make sure your belly never gets empty, that is when the nasaua kicks in. That is why crackers help. I ate something small all day long and it did help.

Resting also helps so if you can't make the baby shower or christmas party, then that is okay. I am learning to try and take it easy. I have missed a week of work (something I would never do) and am learning to be okay with it. The world survives, so rest up.

Off to bed,

Love
Sam

PS these boards really help me be able to vent and i always feel better afterwards, thank you!!!

Morning everyone. We made it to 20 weeks today. Hoorah! Just wanted to send my encouragement to all the girls at early pregnancy to endure it with courage. I know some of you are having a very hard time with sickness etc. But please just remind yourselves of the blessing and everyday we make through, babies are growing stronger and bigger. Like Sam's story, we really need to listen to our bodies and make room in our lives to rest when we need to, eat when we need to, and eat what works for you. Crackers and not letting my stomach go empty was my life saver. Going to bed by 10pm (or 9 even) is a life saver. All fruit and vegetables made me sick in the beginning so I didn't eat them, but they am fine now and am eating more. When the sickness subsided for me, I did feel a sense of increased energy and hopefulness and extreme happiness. Alas, new symptoms like heartburn and breathelessness has appeared just to bring the elation down a little bit. Pregnancy is one of the hardest things I've ever done but girls, lets face it together with courage and deal with it the best we can!!!

I'm still very nervous about the scan next week as its been such a long time since the last check up. If you have a moment, do remember me and the babies in your prayers that they are strong and healthy and everything is as planned. We were told the sex at the 13.5 weeks scan but we've decided to be evil and NOT TELL ANYONE!!!! it was lovely seeing mother-in-law's shocked face when we told her we were not telling hehehe

Congratulations Hopeful on the eggs retrieved. Let us know how you get on with the next stage. We will be praying for you.

Lots of love to everyone, may this weekend be wonderful for you
Rittie

Mazy ---- Welcome back! It is so great to hear from you! I was wondering about you! I am so glad it worked for you and you have the worst weeks behind you. I see that the nausea hits almost everybody and I am not an exception. I don't enjoy eating, but when I eat, it helps, so I try to eat constantly. Keep in touch and let us know how you are doing, do you have a name yet for your baby boy?

Sam --- how are you feeling, is it better now? This pregnancy is really hard on you,ha? It just never ends... I will try those fruit shakes! I slept 12 hours last night, so I hope I am getting plenty of rest. Thanks for all your advice!

Rittie --- so we will just have to wait like everybody else to find out what you are having... I guess. I won't be able to keep the secret like you do, you are amazing. You won't even tell us! And you found out in 13.5 weeks? That is very soon, wow! I did not know they can tell that soon, I thought 20 weeks is the right time.. I go to bed by 9 as well, and it helps. Good luck with you scan, I am sure everything will go well.

Wishing you all a nice weekend! Love Lola

Sam, I'm sorry you're so sick. :( I hope you feel better soon. Good to know the baby is staying strong.

Hi again Mazy. Good to hear from you!

Oh Rittie, the suspense!

Wannababy, waking up was... let's just say... surreal. I didn't freak out because I knew exactly what was going on, even though I was groggy.

I got the report on my embies. We have 16 that "fertilized well" (RE's words). They we're all frozen today. I thought they would grow to blast then freeze, but I was wrong. I am very happy with the number of totsicles we have! I'm supposed to call when I start AF to start my next FET. I'm thinking of going for it. Don't really want to wait anymore. :D

Bobo so sorry to hear. I hope your RE will have some good suggestions for your next cycle and will be thinking about you.

Mia - I was just thrilled to hear you have 16 strong frosties! I can't wait until you're ready to get started on the FET! I don't blame you on not wanting to wait - I'd feel the same way!

Rittie - many, many congratulations on making it to the 20th week - that's a great milestone! I will definitely keep you in my thoughts and prayers for your scan this week, although I'm sure things will be perfect!

Sam - I'm so sorry you got pneumonia and feel so poorly with the pregnancy in general. I really do hope your third trimester brings you better health. You have had a rough journey and I admire your strength.

Mazy - great to hear from you and what fantastic news you bring! 18 weeks and a healthy baby boy is wonderful! I would love the referral on the nuchal/cvs. I haven't decided what we'll do (I'm trying to take it one week at a time) but please do pm me or post the doctor. I'd appreciate it.

Lola - If I recall, you have your third ultrasound tomorrow, so good luck! I hope your little ones continue to be strong and healthy! I haven't joined any thread over on the pregnant after ivf page, but did post a new thread with a bunch of ?'s for the bfp ladies. I'm sorry you're having the constant nausea - I've heard ginger can be helpful? Try to take it easy.

Wannababy - how are you doing? I saw your post on the cramping - I had the same questions myself, so I was glad you posted it. Let us know about your ultrasound on Wednesday - you'll get to see the HB - it's so exciting!

As for me, I'm probably overly neurotic in my constant worrying right now. My symptoms keep coming and going which makes me think maybe something's going wrong. Friday night/Saturday morning I was very nauseous and had terrible heartburn. Now all that's gone. Yesterday I could barely keep my eyes open and took 2 naps, also my bb's were incredibly painful. Today, I wake up and I'm feeling great (not tired at all and bb's only sore to the touch.) This is just a snapshot but this coming and going has happened all week. I don't have any RE appts/scans until 12/27, so I've got over 2 weeks before I find out anything, so I'm just really nervous.

Hope all goes well for you ladies this week - lots of important scans, so best of luck!

xoxox,

Hello all, I just got out of the hospital after a three day stay. My pneumonia is not doing well but I am now in stable condition. I had a heart beat check every day and the baby is still there, beating away. I think they are giving me an ultra sound next week to make sure everything is fine. They swear to me it is. Wow, what a tough five months......they say I should be in recovery for the next three weeks unless I get an infection so I am taking it very easy. I tell my baby girl that she owes it to me to be sleeping though the night by the second week :D

BTW-we are toying with the names Sydney or Zoey. Any input?

Hey everybody--

Just wanted to check in and say hi. Quick personals--
Sam-I hope you start to feel more like yourself. I love Sydney.

Hopeful--Where are you in this process? I hope you are doing a transfer soon.

Suzhan- I'm sorry about the see-saw morning sickness. I have had an upset stomach on occasion and my boobs have been sore for about 1 month straight. I will say that hitting 6 weeks has really brought on the exhaustion. Other than that, I have been pretty good (looking for wood to knock on)

To the other ladies, I'll catch up with you later! Take care! :)

Hello girls,

Wannababy --- good to hear that you are doing well!

Sam --- Welcome home again, this must be so hard on you. I like Sydney better than Zoey. But both names are nice, they would even make a nice twins combination....

Suzhan --- thanks for wishing me luck, you are right, my u/s is tomorrow and my hubby is taking a day off work to take me over there. My nausea is really bad in the mornings and it does not stop until the afternoon, sometimes I have it the whole day. I have to force myself to eat, as it is really hard to eat when you are nauseous. I hope it goes away soon. Thanks for the ginger tip, I will try that. Everything you have described sounds pretty normal to me, so I am sure you will be just fine. It is a long wait until the 27th! That's past Christmas!

Bobo --- it's wonderful that you will be starting again soon. I hope it works for you this time. You will be in my prayers!

Mia --- 16 frosties, wow! That's a lot! My clinic freezes everything the next day after ER as well, so I guess there is a better chance of survival or so... So you will be starting very soon, with your next AF! Cool!

I guess I am going to do another update then...

Thank you for your well wishes and doing better. I still can't talk due to getting so winded but the dry heaving and breathing have gotten better. They said it will take about a month to have the pneumonia work out of my system. Thanks goodness for christmas break.

lola- How was your U/S?

Mia- That sounds like a great amount of frosties. Congrats. THere is a baby in that for you.

Sam --- I hope you will get better soon! Hope you get a lot of rest during the holidays! My u/s went well yesterday. The two babies are growing and have a strong heartbeat (around 150 bpm). The third baby is a little fighter, but they say he is not going to make it for sure now. His heartbeat is only 50 and he is half size of the other ones. He is still there though! My next U/S is on 12/27 and the third baby should not be there by then. It will just get absorbed somehow. I am always getting the photos of them and I will make a little album later. I have a picture of the embryos too.

Wannababy, Suzhan, how are you girls feeling?

Hey everybody--it seems like it has been awhile. My computer wasn't cooperating and I have been getting a lot of much needed sleep. I had my 2nd u/s today and heard the heartbeat--what an experience that was! My little brownie's heartbeat is 122bpm. I'm a little concerned about that, but according to the RE and my nurse, it is normal.

I was told today that I am only 6 weeks along. :? According to my LMP, I'm what my ticker below inidicates. I'm confused. Even though it's only a few days off, it was closer to being done with the 1st trimester. They are releasing me in the next 2 weeks and then I go to my OB/GYN. I'll go by what she tells me.

I hope that everyone is doing well. I'll do personals, when I'm not so sleepy......

Sam - so glad you're on the road to recovery! What a scare....please rest and take care of yourself.

Lola - Very exciting news that the two little ones are doing so well - sounds like they're very healthy. I have my first ultrasound on 12/27, so we'll be scan buddies that day....How's the nausea? Are you still feeling it?

Wannababy - I think 122 is a great heartrate - I've always heard too that they want it higher than 120 and since you're not even at 7 weeks yet, I'd say that's great. I wouldn't worry to much about a few days difference in the scan dating vs. your lmp dating of the pregnancy. From what I've read, they expect to be +/- 3-4 days.

I had a 3rd beta yesterday and am not sure what to make of it....I was 19dp3dt and it was 11,000 (8 days prior it was 147, so using the doubling every 48 hours, it should have been more like 2400.) Of course, I'm happy to see the strong numbers, but don't know what it means that it's doubling in about 1.3 days instead of 2 days. I can't wait until 12/27!

Hope everyone's doing well - take care,

Hello all--

Sam- I hope you feel better fast. It would suck to be sick during the holidays. Hopefully by that time, you'll be back to your old self. I'm glad your daughter is doing fine! Take care of you both!

Lola-150 bpm is great. Is one heart beating faster than the other? What's the old wivestale--slower beat=boy. Do you have a feeling about what you are having yet? How's the nausea?

Suzhan- 12/27 will be here soon. I think that is the day that my RE discharges me. 12/27 is a big day for the 3 of us (including Lola). How are you feeling? I'm no expert, but the numbers sound high, maybe you should start getting ready for double trouble...... :?:

Bobo-How are you doing? I'm thinking about you!((((hugs)))))

Question about heartbeat for anybody who knows-Will the rate of the heartbeat change throughout a pregnancy? Should it be higher when I go in for my next u/s next week?

Is it just me, or do you refer to your babies as "he"?

I hope that everyone is doing well in the middle of this holiday madness. Take care!
