The children go back to school on the 14th.
My husbands work is very very busy.
And lots of little things that just show us its a bad time, and maybe a waste of drugs and time.September is a better month also for my girls who I have to put first.

Hello all, I'm new to the board. It is so encouraging to hear that there are others going through similar situations as myself.

Here's about me...I'm 36, hubby is 39 and we are suffering from 2ndary infertility. It took us 11 years to conceive Sydni. She's a healthly, beautiful little 5 year old. I found out I had a pituitary tumor, had it removed and 4 months later, WAM BAM, I was pregnant. I think I was one of the most happiest pregnant women you would have met. Pregnancy went great and I thought I would be able to just pop them out when I wanted...WRONG.... The other issue we are dealing with is the male factor, low count. I visited a specialist this week and he has suggested that we try the IUI. I have started clomid and hopefully will try for the IUI next week, maybe the 11th if I ovulate.

Question, I got my cycles days mixed up this month and started taking the Clomid on day 4 instead of 5. Do you think this will be a problem?

Glad you found us!!

With the Clomid, different clinics do different days. I actually take it from day 3 to 7, so I would think that day 4 rather than 5 will be just fine. I don't know what the rationale for different days is, I will ask my doc tomorrow as I am the only one who seems to take it so early.

We should be cycling together! Today (the 5th Aug) is day 9 for me so I am expecting to have my IUI on the 10th-ish. So lets be cycle buddies!

Not sure whether I gave you my full history before and apologise if I'm repeating myself but here it is:

Me 30 and DH 35. I've never been pregnant and we stopped using protection 5 years ago when we got engaged. We weren't that concerened that it wasn't happening as we were living in thUK and had a wedding to plan and travel still left to do. We moved back to Oz 2 years ago and then decided to investigate. We are both completely normal. Normal bloods, sperm and lap. We have done 2 IUI's with Clomid and this is our last try before we start IVF. It is heartbreaking.

I have my follie scan tomorrow...when is yours? What sort of regime have they got you on? I take 75mg Clomid on days 3-7 and then scan and blood on day 11. I usually get a HCG shot when he thinks its a good time, and then one IUI the next day.

How do you find the clomid?

I think it would be great to be cycle buddies! That will be a great help to me especially this being my first IUI. Today, the 5th, is day 7 of my cycle so we're really close, that's great.

I'm really sorry that you haven't gotten pregnant yet. You would think that if you both are normal, having an IUI would have great results, no problem. Maybe this time....my prayers are with you..

I am currently taking Clomid 100 mg/day for 5 days. I only have 1 day left to take since I mistakedly took it a day early. I called the nurse and she said that would be ok. That was a big relief.....

I haven't had any side effects/symptoms so far with Clomid. I had taken it a few years ago to enhance our chances for about 3 months. I didn't have any problems with it.

On cycle day 11, the 9th, I start using the OPK (I think that's right) to check for ovulation. The doc said that as soon as I get a + to call the office and to be ready to come in immediately for the procedure. So, I have no clue what day the IUI will be on. All I know is that me and DH will have to be ready to fly out the door on that morning. I'm assuming they will do my follie scan that day. I don't recall him mentioning that.

What about this HCG shot??? Doc didn't mention that. I don't mind shots but I do want to be aware if I'm getting one... Do they always do these when you have an IUI? What does it do?

When I first met with my doc, I asked if we had the option to do the IVF instead. With my thinking....if my DH's sperm are weak, this would be the best route. He said we still had a good chance with IUI. So we compromised on 1 IUI, then the IVF next. We'll see.... The clinic's stats look the same for both, in the 30% range for my age.

If our IUI procedures go ok, when will they test us to see if it worked?

Ive had 3iui's currently on the 2ww test in 10 days time, I am like em, in the fact that i am ok, so guess I would fall under unexplained list!!

Dh has no sperm we are using a Donor, and donor sperm is of good quallity, so if i am good and sperm is good surely it should happen???

I am quite anxious about this working, i really want it to,dont really want to move to ivf yet, will stick with iui for now anyway.....

All previous iuis were with climod 50mg- Felt awful on it, but took it frm day 2-6, some do it from 3-7, when after 2days i called to say i felt like crap nurse said i could stop taking it if i wanted.....

My follies were at 14mm, and then i got surge, I had 2 follies, all other times only 1 follie, so thats good!!!

But on one natural iui i had follie at 17mm, in the books they say they should be 18-23 mm, I am wondering if smaller follie= no so good quality egg??
Does anyone know??

Hi all

I'm back from my lovely hols and ...

Well here's the news. It was a .... BFN after all.

AF showed on my test date late in the afternoon. A good 2 and a half almost 3 days late and 17 days after iui which is very late to get AF after ovulation. All the literature says (and the nurse) that AF shows 12-16 days after ovulation. I was really starting to think it was a BFP.

The nurse said she though I might have had a biochemical pregnancy, where I got as far as cell division but then the embryo didn't implant . This would have explained the cramps I had all day, 2 days after iui and my late period.

So my 2nd attempt is next Sunday there or there about with bloods starting this wednesday. Am hopeful that what has happened with this one is a good sign
